Thank you also for hitting JMF25 in the groin area thus awaken the giant in him lol.

I never knew that was the start lol. I dig some information and surprise that it's not just a simple hit in a groin area.

It has become a serious medical condition. Because of what you posted, I become curious about that story lol.

More information here: https://sg.news.yahoo.com/news/news/swollen-060206652.html

Cebuano basketball fans would never forgot that incident as it the reason why Junemar Fajardo did not won the Rookie of the Year award and the possible MVP on that same year, the record which was hold by Benjie Paras until now.

But on the brighter side, that incident paved the way for the true friendship of Junemar and Marc Pingris, on and off the court.

Thanks to all of them and maybe we might see some old players doing the same to just to give spots to these promising rookies and for the future too.

Pingris says, "Ibigay na lang natin sa bata'".

He can still make money as Magnolia will surely give him a new contract even for a 1-year veteran deal. He can be a bench warmer lol. But yes, I agree that he might be part of the Magnolia coaching staff if he wants to.

He maybe accepts the fact now that his body is not cooperating now due to his serious injuries before, ACL in 2018, and right calf injury in 2020.
He might join as one of the coaching staff or another one is he might build a business under Magnolia like a franchise something like that.
On the other hand, I like what he thinks that he wants young people to fulfill their dreams by giving his spot to them. Most unforgettable moment about him?? The time where Ball Boy "Boy Sukat" measured his feet up to the out of bounds.

This is the picture if you want to see it. Link of the article can be seen here.

The timing maybe is one of the reasons, I have a feeling that Ping will not retire if we are not in a pandemic. But anyway, he has already decided and it's good to give chance to other placers to be in the PBA. Ping has already accomplished a lot in basketball, there's nothing to prove anymore, and Financially, I think he is also stable already.

With the number of veterans who retired in the last 2 years, that is not normal, the pandemic was really a big factor in their decision. Also, we know that there are some PBA players who are not given a contract this season, that's another thing, the competition is getting in this struggling time.

He's more stable if we talked about finances, SMB corp plus being related to the Sotto's  even the last bloodline of his family will enjoy the luxuries, it's about time to let those newcomers to entertain the fans, Ping achieved the peak of his legacy and there's nothing to prove anymore, he's going to retire his number with lots of respect from the league itself and all those fans who love and idolized him when he still active playing the game.

Despite that, we hope to see a good season once the PBA season opens up.

We have 3 days before June 2021, isn't it the expected month of the opening of the new season?

I wish there would be no more problem and they will commence according to their plan.

There's a comment I read in the PBA portal community in social media that Pingris likely turned down the offer because it was below the average of his salary while at the same time, much better to stay at home rather than taking the risks of contracting a virus in the bubble.  It's not about the money as he is financially capable but seeing the amount on the contract, like it's not worth giving it time.

Adding to that, I've remembered that some teams are struggling financially like Phoenix which results in trading Abueva to another team as his contract here involves a big amount like no other player has. RSA also says recently that the cost of running 3 teams is not a joke.

The speculation was because of Danica Sotto's statements; "God maybe has another plan for us" and "I'll always be by your side".

Don't know if that's true but what do you think?

That rumor makes sense, but one thing is certain is the statement of Danica Sotto who is literally always in his side, at least as a fan I saw that every time Ping had a game, she is a very supportive wife and Ping is very lucky to have that.

What a nice observation on whoever created that speculation. It was possible since Marc Pingris' decision surprise even one of his closest teammates before, James Yap so it's really not a thing to expect from Pingris. For now, as of report, it was his age as the main reason and he can't play now to the highest level.

It's really difficult to play at the bubble since the player will leave his family for months. As we know, Pingris is a family-oriented man and I'm not sure if he can able to handle the bubble setup.

Yes, his family might be one of the reason why he has decided to retire and as well as getting the support from her wife did him easy on that. I was shocked to see that he has retired but I think his whole PBA career is already long and one of the most successful that we had ever see. I've got a question and I hope that anyone who has a wide knowledge about this can answer. Does a PBA retire gets an allotment or retirement benefit from the league itself? for sure he'll be having some incentives and one time big pay check after his retirement. But just like us, when we get old, do they have the same as retirement pension?

It's not gonna be a bubble forever, I think he can choose not to play this season and still remain with the team, it's just that he made a final decision and that's it. I think it's really his age and injury, he is not anymore 100% and at the same time he is a fulfilled player.

With the number of veterans who retired in the last 2 years, that is not normal, the pandemic was really a big factor in their decision. Also, we know that there are some PBA players who are not given a contract this season, that's another thing, the competition is getting in this struggling time.
Despite that, we hope to see a good season once the PBA season opens up.

We have 3 days before June 2021, isn't it the expected month of the opening of the new season?

I wish there would be no more problem and they will commence according to their plan.

There should be no more problem, the vaccine is already rolled out and I guess these players will already get vaccinated before the season will start. SMB teams can handle all the vaccines if they want as they are a rich team, and since it's a bubble, they are making it safer for everyone.

How about MVP, they are also rich like the SMB group, they can help procure vaccines for the players and staff. There's no news regarding that now, maybe they don't want to make it public, but it's not the most interesting, what's interesting is to know about the details of the season start.

Yeah right! MVP also have the same capabilities and for sure they already working on  it now, though I'm not sure why they are not making it into public it will add extra exposures with their business,.

Like what you have said, it's more interesting to know when will be the start of the season after all those news about trades, practices and retirements, it's better now to know if there's a final approval that the boards already settled in terms of the final date of the opening.

Maybe there's really something new that he wants to try and he just have to retire. He did a great milestone with his career and even if we think that he can stay with his team, as said the contract was no longer good for him and that's probably one of the reasons why he has to quit. AFAIK, he's into investments and did that because he knew how to manage his financial stability. He already did the decision and the pinoy sakuragi has already made his exit to the league and we'll just support him what's next for him.

Seems there is truth to that "salary" speculation but whatever may the real reason, one thing is for sure Marc's body can't no longer bear the wear and tear in the PBA. He played very physical and in order to maintain that kind of play you have to be 100 percent healthy physically which is a hard thing to maintain if you are older.

We should also thanks to the management for waiting for him. They reserve a slot in the roster in case he decided to suit up for another year and that means that the Magnolia management really value his past contribution to the team.

Yes, it was just last year since when he has announced his retirement. Correct me if I'm wrong, his wife is far from where the bubble shall happen and I think that's a struggle to him. He has also made his career colorful and great on PBA and he'll never be forgotten by those who were able to see his greatness as he played with one of the best teams during his prime. Pingris and Peter June are now out, maybe James Yap will be out soon if his contracts will start to become lesser because it's also one factor why they're retiring if they feel their worth drops a little.

If we will see James Yap playing this bubble which is I think that he will then we might see this year as his final year of playing.

His contributions to the team are very low right now. Its quite hard to say this but I think that he might need to give his slot too to other young players like others did as well. I don't know how many years he will be playing base on his contract but if this year will be the last then he might retire after this conference.

Bubble games really is hard because you will not see your family personally for months. That is one of the reasons too why some of the older players retired this year already aside from the fact that they can't contribute that much anymore.

James Yap is 39 years old, there are older players than him that are still active in the PBA, and he did not give a hint that he will retire, maybe he is still enjoying, and I what I can see, he is still fit and could deliver.

We have Caguioa, Hugnatan, and Raffy who are still active, they are already in their 40s.
