Howdy folks!
Some of you may remember how I lost a lot of BTC by sending it to a scammer who was posing as Spondoolies Tech here on Bitcointalk. While I will never get those coins back, I wanted to share an update: Guy from Spondoolies looked into the situation and made a very generous offer to offset a large percentage of the loss. What kind of company sacrifices their profits on their extremely sought after machines to make a terrible situation better?
Spondoolies does.
While I cannot reveal the exact details I can assure you that it was the kindest thing a company has ever done for me. They didn't have to do anything at all, as it was my fault for sending the coin to some scammer. But they helped me tremendously and that kind of compassion for customers is very rare. When I see how customers are treated by other companies in this market I felt my story had to be told.
I'm so overwhelmed by their kindness that I thought the community should know and I pledge to only buy Spondoolies equipment going forward.
Expectations dramatically exceeded. Kudos, Guy and Spondoolies-Tech. You guys are the very best, and I mean that sincerely.

Agreed, I've only seen that sort of thing happen once before and it does wonders for the confidence from the buyers. Good to see Guy deliver once again.

Oh sure, that $1.13 per day will really add up fast. It's not worth unplugging your machine for 10 minutes for that. He isn´t unplugging it, the DC is upgrading their cooling system. A 4% free performance increase is always nice, don´t you think? Obviously shipping it to a different location for such a small increase is a bad idea. Shipping it to the right facility in the first place (assuming smaller than 4% hosting cost difference) would be a good one though. Thanks, you managed to figure it out without me It is more like a... challenge? Just can't calm, when I know, there is a possibility to get more speed

Sure. Let's have a 0.1 BTC bet. You bet on your desired difficulty at the end of June and I win if it's less and you win if it's more.
If the bitcoin difficulty is more than 300 billion at midnight on June 30, 2015 - I win. Otherwise - you win. Escrow? winner pays? EDIT: accidentally a word So if the difficulty is equal or more than 300 billion you win. If it's less than 300 billion then I win. We have a deal! Winner pays 0.1 BTC to the loser. I will accept any escrow even if for this low amount I don't think it's needed. Just for the record. RoadStress never put up his end of the bet. He seems to have fallen off the face of the earth - maybe trying to get a refund on his SP30 pre-order(s). That's because I had to leave and didn't have the time to send. You got a PM with the txid for the 0.1 BTC. It was the weekend - i expect roadstress will back up his bet. personally, I would guess that difficulty on June 30, 2015 will be about 420 Billion. I think we will hit 300 Billion about 1.5 months earlier
You were correct. I was away for the weekend and yes I think that I may lose this bet. I should have pushed for May 31 2015 as deadline.

Mining BTC is a continual hamster wheel ... keep investing/upgrading hardware to keep ahead of difficulty ... sell and dump your less efficient miners to pay the way. Not the best business model ... but one that does work at the moment. For how long, I'm not sure, but the several TH/s machines have flourished over the months and the SP30 is going to have quite an impact when it arrives - both in terms of hash rate on the network, and bringing returns for the miners.
Now ... Sponds will ship the 6TH SP30 starting August ... the SP10 is a has-been and is now discontinued. What? I ask myself will they have up their sleeve next in terms of power for the next mining beast they will produce?

keep in mind that the S3 is about 0.7W/GH while the SP30 is to be 0.5w/GH. That difference may mean an extra 2-3 months online hashing. but i agree- the preorder game has failed to pay off time and time again. In-stock mining hardware is the key to success, and I think that spondoolies should package 2 SP10 units inside an SP30 case and sell it as a 2.8TH / 2.5kW unit. The fans would be quieter and it could be produced will all the chips and hardware they have available

While comparing miners here:
Bitmains S3 is basically the competitor to the sp10.
However, I have no doubt that bitmain will come up with a fully rackmountable 4U 1-2kW solution with 0.5W/GH at the wall. This will in turn be the main competitor to the sp30, and should not require a preorder.
Exciting times, let´s see how it goes.

i don't think there is any comparison really - the S3 is a budget rig and a backwards step (under 500GH/s) suited to altcoin miners and miners with lots of space to host these... going forwards it's more hash-power we are going to need, not less. If this is the way the competition are going, then I don't think Spondoolies have much to be worried about - you need at least 13 S3's to match the hashpower of the SP30. That's all very well if you have massive rackspace and very cheap electric, but yeah, lets see what the competition bring out next. I doubt there will be anything that comes close to what spondoolies can give us.

That's because I had to leave and didn't have the time to send. You got a PM with the txid for the 0.1 BTC.
Beastlymac refunded me my 0.1 BTC just 12 hours ago. I'll resend it when I'm home tonight (~10 hours from now). You were correct. I was away for the weekend and yes I think that I may lose this bet. I should have pushed for May 31 2015 as deadline.
If your difficulty crystal ball is that finely tuned that 2 extra difficulty periods out of ~25 will give you that much information. I envy you. If it hits 300B on June 29th instead of June 1st, will that mean the difference between your SP30 making ROI or not? Thank you. I will send the money in 4-5 hours since I don't have access to my wallet right now.
Sorry - from our POV it looked like you'd backed out.

How so? SP10 are not for sale anymore and are much more expensive/less efficient/less home friendly than an s3. Also don't forget that 0.77w/gh is before underclocking. I wouldn't be surprised if the S3 was already capable of 0.5w/gh at the wall. 9btc buys you 6TH in 2 weeks or ~3 months. It's a pretty simple choice if you ask me.

Ignoring the fact that repeating the same thing is simply stupid I will just tell you both that the S3 is out of stock so you can't order it right now. Edit: Mistake. S3 isn't out of stock.
