DiamondCoin has been added to AllCrypt.com!
That's a great exchange to get diamond listed on.

A pre-compiled Ubuntu 14.4 binary of sph-sgminer is available for download here http://dmdpool.digsys.bg/download/sph-sgminer-ubuntu.zipPlease note that it may have dependencies for few libraries, that are not installed on your system. Just add them with apt-get install. Until it runs The miner should be used with the '-k diamond' switch, to select the proper kernel for Diamond v2.0. Happy mining.

I don't recommend using Ubuntu 14.4 for mining. It has several bugs and in certain occasions tends to crash the GPUs. I would recommend instead 12.04 LTS as it has been thoroughly used and tested throughout the mining community. Stay away from 12.10 as support ended in April.

Source code fixes to sph-sgminer published at https://github.com/danbi/sph-sgminer. Hope to have it soon merged with the main branch. You can compile your own version. Let's hope someone does it for Windows users. Hi! I've set up a NOMP pool and compiled your miner in BAMT. But when I run it, I'm getting only rejects with text like: low difficulty share of 0.233/0.125.
Do I need to set some other difficulty muliplier? Also, could somebody share a Windows binary? Thanks

If somebody wants to set up BAMT with this sgminer, follow my guide here: http://groestlcoin.org/forum/index.php?topic=12.0But after step 6, before step 7 do this: git remote set-url origin git://github.com/danbi/sph-sgminer And obviously change kernel from "groestlcoin" into "diamond" in your .conf file

Just letting the new comers know so that they don't rush to 14.4 just because they saw that the binary was compiled on 14.4 BTW, been hashing nicely since yesterday on the pool. Good job.

We are only about 40 blocks from block 400,000 when the PoS stage is supposed to start. From reading the OP, you have to have had the coins in your wallet for a minimum of 30 days before PoS mining works. Is that correct?

So, if I understand correctly, POS should start with block 400000, which will be today. Can anyone enlighten me on how exactly this will work? I read something about 30 days, does that mean I have to have the wallet open for 30 days or just that I have to hold the coins for 30 days? How will I get the coins I "mined" with POS? Will they just appear in my wallet or do I need to run the miner / something? Thanks! EDIT: ninja'd

Not a big thing but maybe you could reset the pool stats to the time of the fork? Block finding stats are waaaay off...

Hi pool operators using NOMP! What is your diamond.json? Something like this? { "name": "Diamondcoin", "symbol": "DMD", "algorithm": "groestl", "txMessages": true } Thanks! Oh, I forgot this bit of the instructions. Must have (as usual) assumed it was obvious. Thing is, GroestlCoin is actually deviating from the common standard, in that it (and few other new coins) is not using sha256d for the transaction hashes, but sha256 (single pass). To accomodate GroestlCoin, NOMP and sph-sgminer actually threat it as special case. In summary, it was never the new DMD wallet's fault that stratum mining did not work -- it was how that software assumed that when you said you want "groestl" you also said you want sha256 (single). NOMP already has a setting to fix this, thanks to some discussion with the author. For coins that use any of (currently) keccak, blake, fugue and groestl -- you need to specify in the coin definition. By the way, the morale of this story is that the DMD team has been blamed without guilt on this subject.

By the way, the morale of this story is that the DMD team has been blamed without guilt on this subject. This is what I'm harping on. This is another "now you tell us" example that comes to us in the form of a BTW, and that should have been released in headline format all by itself. Of course, if you're not releasing all pertinent data in a timely and transparent fashion, it's a little difficult to do that. This is all open source after all, correct? And anybody who really wants to know can always dive into the code, correct? Again, I'm scratching my head and wondering out loud about the lack of specific data regarding all the issues DMD has been facing (both here and on github, and dmdcoin.net too). I'm befuddled. Add: With all the previous talk about "hacking" things to adapt Diamond that created the impression that Diamond was deviating from the common standard, it's important to know that Diamond is not deviating from the original algo, at least in this case anyway. IMHO, these things need to be prominently reported in periodic status reports.
