Could you elaborate regarding the pool problem? I'm just informing about the situation.

the groestl implementaion in diamond isnt 100% identical to other groestl implementations example groestlcoin
solo mining is combatible but at pool mining it behave different

pool and wallet need adaptions (we working on this and will hand out the updatet wallet together with a howto setup a diamond pool)

meanwhile we will set up a temporary pool together with a helpful pool admin from community which use alternative pool software (non stratum)

i can understand people who rare check the thread dont have the time to read trought thread

but basical we explained all of this already

low communicatinglevel  is sure not something that would fit to diamond staff activity on btt

we try to keep community informed about everything thats going on

Is diamond being worked on? It just seems to be a huge mess..
Regards,
Brian

aby idea why GRS cpu miner dont work on DMD?

Dear Diamond developers, miners, community!

I think that it is a problem that even though Groestlcoin and Diamond are using the same hashing algorithm, the miner applications are not compatible.
It is creating confusion for the miners. The change in the stratum mining code is trivial, but you'd have to do it and recompile a miner every time it is updated.
Also, I believe this will make it difficult (impossible?) to do merged mining in the future.

I think that it is possible to fix this situation now, when there are no exchanges, just a single pool and low network hashrate.
You can make a fork and switch from sha256(sha256()) to groestl512(groestl512()) in block hash.
That will make all miners compatible.

Thank you

Agreed. Two is better than one. Currently only groestlcoin and diamond use the incredible groestl hashing algorithm. We need to unite our force and educate people about this amazing algo.

welcome to our sisters and brothers from groestlcoin!

thx for step in here and share ur opinion srcxxx
i will try answer from my point of view regarding this topics

MINER
sph-miner will add -k diamond as a standard switch into code
and all their new miner releases will be compatible with diamond
same will happen for most other mining software (i think there is already a diamond combatible cpu miner and nvidia sure on the way also)

TRANSACTION HASHING
regarding hashing u seem to mix up something
both our coins use the same great block hashing mechanic groestl512(groestl512()) powersaving cool and silent
but regarding transaction hashing we did stay coin standard methode sha256d which nearly all coins use (bitcoin standard method)
groestlcoin did for some us not known reason change it to sha256
so basical while -k groestlcoin need two special adaptions in miner software (block algo AND transaction hashing method) -k diamond need only groestl algo  activated and beside that stay standard

MERGED MINING

regarding merged mining only block hashing is reused so our transaction hashing incombatibility wont affect this possibility

i hope u understand that in our opinion a possible cooperation and mergemine partnership is in no way related to transaction hashing
and we dont want to hardfork for that reason

but we are interested to hear opinions of our community regarding this topics too

feedback is like always welcome

Dear devs,

please update everyone on your progress.

DMD price is rapidly tanking!

So at least information on how you are doing would be appreciated.

I understand your position and I respect it.
I just needed to state my vision of it.

so basical while -k groestlcoin need two special adaptions in miner software (block algo AND transaction hashing method) -k diamond need only groestl algo  activated and beside that stay standard

As for the miners... The important point is that two those adaptions in miner software have been already made in the miners. And now all miner software devs need to remove one of the adaption in case of Diamond. Or somebody needs to fork the miners, make the change and create compiled versions.

Thanks

It was my 7th attempt to set up a Diamond mining pool.

It failed again.

I ask Diamond devs or danbi for help.

NOMP always says "Daemon instance 0 rejected a supposedly valid block".

I have the latest NOMP source, I have compiled 2.0.1 daemon from your repo myself and even redownloaded the complete blockchain (instead of using your Original.rar).
Nothing helps.

Also, please note that only the single pool is working. No other pools are operating. They have 0 miners.

So I recommend that you look into this issue to avoid some 51% or timewarping attacks on your blockchain.

Thank you

So I have a DMD deposit that never arrived in my wallet... was there a blockchain switchover/fork or something?

I have tried to sync my wallet on both mac and PC but the DMD are not showing up in my account

I tried the block explorer for the txid ....returned null values Huh

I am rather busy this week with other stuff, and don't visit very often here.

But, as the Diamond team people were repeatedly telling me in this thread while I was combating it, "are your blocks foundation compatible?" Cheesy

That is, do you send 0.05 DMD to the DMD contribution address with each block?
What are your wallet log files showing? That is, whatever the reason for the reject, it *is* listed there.

I hope to be able to help with more issues soon.

The Diamond block chain has struck due to an attack. It was decided to prematurely fork it and switch to Groestl hashing at that point. Surely, a lot of transactions have been canceled and some mined blocks too (I know to have mined two blocks myself during that time, that got orphaned).

Your DMDs are (back) at Criptsy's wallet. You should open a case with them to have the coins returned to your balance. Or, they should demonstrate where that transaction went..

Just curious. Has anyone seen any staking yet?  My coins aren't old enough but I'm sure there are plenty of people here with coins over 30 days old that should be seeing something.

My coins are fine, they all(300 coins) was mined in past 3 days, partialy solded at crypsy and some saved in wallet for PoS.
