Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Bittrex exchange has been contacted multiple times, via multiple channels, initiated by multiple people.

In the last response that I am aware of staff agreed to re-review CLAM at a future date for consideration.

Who is keeping the price as high as 0.007 to unload CLAMS outside exchanges?

I sold 1000 CLAM this morning for 7 BTC to someone who PM'ed me on Just-Dice asking if I had any CLAM to sell.

I don't know if anyone is deliberately manipulating the price. I guess you could argue that by approaching me privately rather than buying on the exchange he is keeping the price lower than it would otherwise be. His message to me effectively increased the supply of CLAM (because otherwise I would have just kept them in the JD bankroll).

Dooglus,  would there be some way that I could reject all the 1.4.4 clients?

Yes, if you can build from source.

See https://github.com/dooglus/clams/commit/0022ff97

Edit: except it appears that v1.4.5 also calls itself v1.4.4, so that commit will probably reject v1.4.5 peers too.

I made an issue on github about this.

Now that there are a decent number of v1.4.7 peers on the network, is it reasonable to start dropping connections from the buggy v1.4.4 client?

How many clams does it take to give a steaking weight  Shocked

Your staking weight is the same as your balance. If you want a non-zero staking weight, you need a non-zero balance.

The only caveat is that coins don't contribute to your staking weight until 4 hours after they were last involved in a transaction, and until 510 blocks after they last staked.

I'm looking for information about the clam qt-based client and whether or not if it supports the same JSON/RPC commands that the bitcoin client uses.

It's very similar, but not the same.

Run "clamd help" to get a list of the commands it supports.

CLAM is proof of stake, and so has RPC commands related to staking that bitcoind doesn't have:

Code:
$ clamd help | grep stak
getstakedbyaddress <clamaddress|*> [minconf=1]
getstakinginfo
$

Staking in QT: Higher variance, no fee on staking

Two other factors:

* at JD you get to profit when players lose as well as staking (and lose when they win)
* at JD your orphan rate will be lower than staking on your own, but it's not clear how much lower

Cool for 200 Clams how much we can get stake on a daily basis.. jus wanna know som,e figure not exactly though !

JD has ~370k CLAM and stakes ~1100 CLAM per day. Dividing those numbers suggests 336 CLAM would stake 1 CLAM per day.

No, any non-zero amount of CLAM has a chance of staking.

The chance is proportional to the amount, so a single "satoshi" (clamoshi?) has a chance, but not much of one.

If 336 CLAMs stakes once per day, a single satoshi stakes once per 336/1e-8 days, or once every 92 million tears yearsCry

Good luck! Smiley

Who is keeping the price as high as 0.007 to unload CLAMS outside exchanges?

I personally think CLAM is worth .01-.1btc... I also think it is a good thing that there are some sellers off the exchange other wise these buyers could create a lot of rock n roll in the market.

If you think CLAM is over valued then help the market by selling on the exchange, but I honestly think we are still under valued compared to the /dig rate.

I have sold a good hand full of exchanges.  Rather see folks doing that than making those dick weeds @ Poloniex rich for nothing.

What's the dig rate for clam? I remember it's free to get clam, why there is a dig rate?

Well I can say I have almost 10 CLAM due to only having 2 addresses containing CLAMS.
