Weren't there problems with the miner itself? If not then I should be paying Wolf the bounty, but my recollection was that it only worked for a little while and then would crash. Please let me know if incorrect.

As far as I know, the miner should be seen as "unfinished work" at this point. I understand that Wolf0 will be resuming his work on the regular Cryptonight miner soon, and along with that, we should also get an update for the Cryptonight-Light variant.

That's all I know of it. I've got no AMD cards and no experience on using this miner at all.

Miner is working only for 10 minutes and then loses connection to stratum.
Win build 280x speed is only 550 h/s, unfinished it is.

There is a timeout on pools, if no shares from you for X time pool will drop connection.

Do you know how this is handled by other miners? Seems trivial.

Timeout happens only with wolf's amd gpu miner.

If the pool you are using supports fixed difficulty you could try setting yours to 30 seconds or one minute. That's your hash rate times 30 or 60. That should eliminate the possibility of 10 minutes with no share

None of the current pools support fixed difficulty.

Mooo's does AFAIK. Just append .xxxxxx to your username, and the pool will set your miner diff to .xxxxxx.

Edit: If not obvious: replace .xxxxxx with some meaningful difficulty value. Could be .5000, .20000, whatever you desired. Note that there is some minimum difficulty value set by the pool, but I don't recall what that is.

@kama:

https://github.com/moneromooo/ccminer-cryptonight

This should work with compute 2.0 upwards, but to be perfectly honest, I don't think anyone has tested or reported mining status for that card generation. If you need Win binaries, you can search my posts on this thread. I might need to make a new build to ensure that every possible platform is supported, can take care of that tonight.

Yes, it does. The minimum is 10k, to avoid larger hash miners from spamming the pool with a lot of fast shares. I've just checked the logs and at least one person's using fixed diff at the moment, so it seems to wotk Smiley

Note that the pool is on aeonpool2.mooo.com now, not the original hostname without the 2.

Thanks!

Fixed diff did the trick but the miner uses too much cpu.
280x and 270x mining with average 60% cpu usage.

I tried fix diff of 20k on aeonpool2 for the last few hours to try and force relatively quick shares, but still have the same issue. The AMD miner appears to keep hashing, it submits shares and the GPU stays warm. The reporting I get from the miner never seems to change - all looks good. This all suggests that the miner is receiving work from the pool, yet the pool eventually reports that no shares are being submitted.

Can I work with someone to troubleshoot? I'd like to check whether the pool is still sending work to my miner.

You can try #aoencoin IRC on freenode. Sometimes moneromooo is on there and perhaps he would have time to help, but no guarantees. You can get on via the web interface here if you don't have an IRC client: https://webchat.freenode.net

Right. If you post on IRC, I'll read it sooner rather than later.
For now, I'll need your Aeon address to look in the logs what happened.
I don't see anyone submitting bad shares today, and nobody banned.
With the address, I can check more precisely.

error -61 is CL_INVALID_BUFFER_SIZE.
