Well if we didn't have this pirate thing dragging it down..

If you truly believe that, you should be buying like a freak. In three weeks Pirate threads will be as popular as Bitcoinica threads are now. Unless of course there is some radical new development.

The mob is fickle.

So where are all the conspiracy theory threads about how Pirate shutting down was just a way to distract people from the bitcoinica mess?  Wink

Probabily I'm a bit offtopic but I don't mind judging the general level of the late posts ;-) so: could someone explain me how to buy a put option for AAPL?

I find the apple capitalization is pure madness, and I suppose that now that iphones get so much competition from android apple will be unable to keep the fuzz to this height and some time after the iphone5 is out the stock value will begin to plunge.

I used to trade a bit on several stock exchanges but I know almost nothing about options and covered warrants: if someone wants to share a bit of knowledge I will be delighted Smiley

This is not really the place to get stock options advice.

Here is a Dec 2012 650 Put quote. Charles Schwab One Brokerage Account is great and the checking account's ATM card has no fees at all. Once you figure out what the hell you are doing then you can move over to Interactive Brokers.

PS. JMO, Don't short Apple .... you will get eaten. If you want some put selling strategies you may want to check out Fully Informed.

shorting Apple is nothing for unexperienced people, but still, if you do it right, it can be very rewarding. I gained 80$ per share in Spring 2012, then losing two times 5-8$ per share, and today I shorted again at 678 $.

Au@$1650 w/ USDX@81.8 is as promising as my BTC@$10-$11.  Both adventures are on the trajectory which I have hoped for at this moment.  And neither is immune to steps in both directions.

@sunnankar: thanks for the infos and the links.
I already found the AAPL121222P00650000 PUT but I can't understand in which market they trade: I already have an online broker, I just have to check if it can trade options.

You will probably have to get your account approved for trading options. There are usually different levels you can be approved for depending on your experience. That is why I directed you towards Schwab. They are pretty simple and the fees are really low.

Wins what? Huh

I think we all agreed that Bitcoin has far more room to grow than gold or silver, and at a faster rate. If anything, the prognostication that gold (esp. physical) was collapsing is wrong.

back in November at the lows of $2, almost no one around here agreed with me, except maybe tvbcof, that Bitcoin had more room to grow than gold including you. this realization of yours only came into being as we started heading up.

yes, gold hasn't collapsed yet but Bitcoin sure is UP.  i'm still holding my DZZ and ZSL.

don't forget that we are down from the 8/2011 gold thread when i first made the call.
