This would be fine if they told everyone

I've asked before how they decide which bets to process immediately and which to delay and was told it's a secret.
How often do you zoom in on your avatar's face? Is it just me or is it getting closer?

I'm glad you wrote that. I wasn't sure either, but it had started scaring me a bit. I don't trust kindly old men, they're a bit creepy.

Wow you two, this is the first symptom of paranoia! Better talk to a doc!

Wow you two, this is the first symptom of paranoia! Better talk to a doc!

Only once.  When I was at 2112 posts, I switched my avatar to Rush's 2112 album cover.  Later, I wanted to switch back, and couldn't remember which one I had used before.

I have a whole bunch of differently zoomed versions, which I went through one at a time on my Sapphire casino account before I got banned for winning too much or being too helpful or something I forget what now.  So I've not zoomed my avatar in probably over a month, but well spotted.  Smiley

Edit: I've zoomed back out, so you can all relax again.

1920 BTC win; max bets on "less than 1" to "less than 64" would win you 6400 BTC ($461,000 at $72). Or just as likely lose you 6524 BTC.

They already have a payment transactionID but it is not known to the network. Is this always the case with big wins? Probably means they prepared the transaction but are reluctant to send it out before double-checking that the bet was legit?

Hmm? SatoshiDICE uses the bet as one of the inputs so they should have no problem with double spends on winning bets. Finding out you lost and THEN doublespending is why they now are basically requiring a confirm.

It has paid, all good.

The winner messaged me, he is very happy. He wrote me a somewhat inspiring email about what he plans to do with the winnings. Congrats to him and his family Smiley

How long does the return on your bet take?

Yes a service. It is not a problem for those who do not care.
I am sure a drug dealer thinks the same way. He/she is just offering a service, right?
When minors gamble via sd, that is just a service. It aint sd's fault right?

My statement was a reverse play on the rosy picture his post paints. A lucky win for a guy and his family! Good fortune for them!
What they can do with this windfall is amazing. It makes me feel so cheery.

But hey.. For that guy to win there were a metric crap ton of losers. Perhaps a loser who blew the family savings. We do not hear about those folks. That is bad for business.

I guess reading between the lines is a lost art around here. But whatever. Those with critical thinking skills got it. It is a common mistake not to think about your actions and what harm it could cause to others. But if one does not care... Well it aint a problem, right?

There is a reason they call the lottery a 'stupid tax', the only people that play are those that are too stupid to realize how slim their chances are, and those who do it for fun. For the latter, who cares, it's their money. For the former, well, you can't fix stupid.

'stupid tax', 'tax on stupidity', 'tax on poor', I already have heard a lot of this, but it's bullshit to me. Stupid is a person that spend more money then they can afford having sure that these tickets WILL give them the prize. But c'mon, I play lotteries a lot when the jackpot is worth for me, and let me say, is good to dream about it. "what will I do if I win?". Yes, the chances are slim, but the chance of winning exist as people already won the big jackpot. My advise, don't be so "Math Wise" and allow you to dream a little, this will be good for you.
