You got the link for the cuda/ccminer?

If you are going to leave your BTC on an exchange please send it to this address instead 1GH3ub3UUHbU5qDJW5u3E9jZ96ZEmzaXtG, I will at least use the money better than someone who steals it from the exchange. Thanks Wink

Watching this coin!

Congrats on the record in such a short time.. impressive

regarding the emission curve, definitely would not want to see it shortened. although what about the possibility of a linear emission curve? wouldn't that be the fairest method of coin distribution? who says the reward absolutely needs to halve?? arguably, a reduced block reward, combined with much higher difficulty in 2 years is unfair to future adopters.

Could you explain:   "Cap: about 10 - 30 million GAP"

That's a wide range. What determines the Cap?

Is that cap hard coded into the coin (like Bitcoin's 21 million), or is this figure of "10-30 million" an estimate?  If an estimate, how are you calculating it?

Could it go over 30 million?

Thanks

If anyone is interested in selling some GAP, I'd buy about $100 worth or so - send me a PM with how much you've got to sell and the rate, Thanks!   (I know about poloniex, but there's hardly anything there)

Very few of them, no one will want to sell. Wink

Yes.  Blocks have variable rewards based on difficulty, so hard to tell exactly what the final amount of coins will be.

I will sell you 1 GAP for approximately 10,000 dollars or between 9 to 12 ounce of gold (real gold upon delivery weight in hand)

So someone got a 33.32281046 gap. That would put it 12th in the world record list.

Yes, noticed that Grin

I already contacted nonce-pool about paying the bounty for the finder Un3eaL.

I'll submit the gap to http://primerecords.dk

Cool stuff.

In the record book.  Number 13.

I noticed something interesting today and wanted to see if anyone else has had the same experience.

On my i7 cpu I've been using dcct's miner using 7 of its 8 threads. Around 24 hours ago I had to utilize this machine for other work (non cup intensive work) so I set the miner to use only 3 of the 8 threads. I forgot to change it back to 7 before bed but when I woke up I was happy with the results so I let it go another 12 hours.

Now, around 24 hours later, my rate of finding blocks is around 1 for every 200. Normally with 7 threads I was getting around 1 block for every 600.

Using 3 threads I'm at around 490k pps. With 7 threads I'm at around 740k pps.

Going to let it run like this for another few days and will see if it keeps up as the sample size is too small to make a conclusion at this point.

Anyone else have this experience using a lower thread setting?

Hi there,

just want to remind about the ongoing voting:

Voting about changing the block reward halving:

Every option is represented by Gapcoin address.
Every 0.00000001 GAP (1 Satoshi) counts as one vote.

The Gapcoin address with the most GAP will win the voting.
Then we will make a hard fork (or not) according to the chosen option.

The options are: halving the block reward

  • every 2 years (no changes, no hard fork)   GSJw8qfMBTrX1p9rRexuek4zXjb8ay3Nev
  • every year   GZHgCFHCwQYZhSqmGAJ7rKLYyo8fBEkgdj
  • every half year   GRNwEjBXhr3ccYV78LKRuzjt9howGVwx9c
  • every three months   GLjNmmTZiSxTyFHXAFBjXefmFNWUhTfXjk

Or reducing the block reward every block to effectively halve:

  • every 2 years   GU4oUgmeAC7T9DkgmrD1TjqcgHsdgXAhVU
  • every year   GHxr8JUNtaenHvrgqmt9oXTtZA8dA8DnBH
  • every half year   GRPwr2TiDNNBBUWa36os4Srppy4QdXxa9i
  • every three months   GKKcAv7UyJNLWsSPEwLRuYLBJjkRKvdp5k

The voting will end in one week (18.11.2014 10:00 PM UTC)

After the end of the voting, the funds of these addresses will be added to the
bounty for the first merit which breaks the world record.

Current status: http://coinia.net/gapcoin/voiting.php

PS: We also got listed in The Top-20 Prime Gaps for all merits  Grin

Sounds like a run of good luck to me.  What I've been doing on windows is setting the priority on the gapminer process to 'low'.  This way I don't see any performance decrease on my system when running other applications.  When the CPU is not needed, it revs gapminer back up to full power.

I see 6 bounties on the OP

I am pledging 15 gaps for each bounty there is and will be created until i say i dont Tongue

So where can i send some gapcoins for the bounties?

I just created an address for each bounty:
(the first merit bounty was already paid)

  • working cuda miner binaries + source code   GdtFcBN2xix3pNVZV7EjWuLS1Tkp6jw56B
  • second running pool   GbZMaSMvzgYUpLHLRCcsxhVeBLvf9GUo3n
  • first merit within the top 10   GaTLAKiA8jVsFTdcUFL1uDNGKvaBzbQDbf
  • first merit within the top 5   GPqdXdMGJjaZk2EZYgbxPb692jsBpzUoCf
  • first merit, which breaks the world record   GNxcqXsAQMN1ShU3M5kmQko13zhzvciMRE

Once the requirement for a bounty is fulfilled, the among of the respective address will be credit to the finder / developer.
