Who the fuck are you to judge weather. I'm obsessing or calm. If you're that old, you should know better.

You forgot the punctuation.

Wait, did he just call me a meteorologist. How rude!

My biggest fear with AM is that friedcat loses the shareholder list.
How is it stored?
Since this is a speculation thread, I heard it was a Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet on OS/2 Warp. I have no source, however.

(I think the answer is that nobody knows Smiley)

I heard that he has it tattooed on his arm, so every time you buy or sell he has to get it redone. That's why you shouldn't sell.

Each of the armed guards outside of the facility has one piece of the list, gpg-encypted. The key is in 9 pieces, inside of a metal capsule inside of Friedcat's 9 pet cats.

Has anyone noticed that AM hashing has declined?

Where have you been dude?

He was mocking the other countless posts from people with no clue.   Cheesy

I guess dividend-day fever has compromised my decorum today, sorry.

Under a rock, where I spend most of my time counting my AM shares repeatedly.

Did AM move some hashing power from solo to a pool, or where did this all go?

http://www.asicminercharts.com/

Or are they moving it all out of the way to get bigger and badder machines in?! Wink

I find it slightly odd that no-one seems to know the answer to this. Dont you all think you should know why a significant drop in power is happening within YOUR company?

Why is it odd? None of us work for AM, nor are most of us on the board. Shareholders don't typically brood over every little fart a company makes. Be patient young padawan.

Didnt realize i was brooding TAT, and ive just looked up the meaning of padawan. Bloody condescending from my view point, considering im probably twice your age.

Just saying to stay calm. Obsessing over it won't do any good.

I highly doubt you are double my age.

sold out

Oh you really think they are gonna advertise for the sticks while they're sold out?

They haven't bid for new ads, fwiw
1009  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is Avalon mining with customer hardware? Answer is here. on: June 19, 2013, 12:31:24 PM
No, seriously, in what scenario is a manufacturer able to get only enough parts and labor to ship a only handful of units every few weeks?.
1010  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is Avalon mining with customer hardware? Answer is here. on: June 19, 2013, 12:09:44 PM
If they are mining for a day or two, I don't see the problem, that's a test in my mind whether it's live on the network, or not. It's only *if* they are deliberately delaying shipments to maximise mining gains for their own ends, over delivering completed hardware to paid and waiting customers that is unacceptable...

Quick question:

TAT PT is now 64% of the way to a board seat.  Once he gets that, TAT PT shareholders will:

Once the passthrough reaches 5,000 whole ASICMINER shares (500,000 split shares) it may receive a board member seat. If board member status is confirmed, and Friedcat follows through with the plan to give each board member a trial ASICMINER mining board, any income generated will be shares as follows:

85% of the mining income will be paid out to the shareholders of TAT.ASICMINER on the same weekly dividend schedule ASICMINER currently uses. At the discretion of the TAT.ASICMINER issuer, these extra dividends may be distributed sooner.

Will this create a higher price for the PT shares since they'll be getting higher dividends?  Or will the dividends be so insignificant that it won't make a huge difference?  Or does anyone have any other analysis of this?

Also, this is my first post with my new avatar.  Pretty effing sweet brah!

Odds are it would have no effect on the share value because every other PT would also get a trial unit.

This list should also note whether it is actively paying dividends as well.

EDIT: I'm too slow!

Why are people not freaking out about the vanishing of hashing power? This could be so many negative things

Most in this thread are only interested in positive news.  Any negative news is met with posts such as "Move this to a different thread" or ad hominem attacks.

We are in a SERIOUS hashing decline (37 -> 17 Th/s).  Possible reasons:
  1) Something is wrong @ the data center and blades are being taken offline. (possible)
  2) Old hardware is being swapped out with newer hardware. (unlikely as it's too soon)
  3) Friedcat has changed his mind re: solo mining and is moving to a pool. (doesn't seem to be the case as overall network hashing is also down)
  4) ?

I can think of a handful of really really depressing fraudulent reasons but even thinking about typing them out is making my gag reflex act up.

The truth is, speculating doesn't help and can only hurt the share price.  Up to this point friedcat has been THE shining example of a good actor in the bitcoin space so I think we can safely rule out any nefarious intent.

We'll just have to wait and see.

Since you insist, here's another speculative angle.

Maybe they took hashes offline because they realized they could freeze the current difficulty for a bit while they work on getting the new boards ready.

1016  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] [TAT.VIRTUALMINE] Virtual Mining - Hash Without Hardware! on: June 18, 2013, 07:02:01 PM
UPDATE

Due to ASICMINER's decline in hashing for several days now, I am pausing any new issuance of TAT.VIRTUALMINER units, and I will begin to find alternate backing for the hashes AM has taken offline.

Since it is likely that this is a temporary lull in hashrate from AM, I will not be securing new backing aggressively, but I will be buying other hashing assets at a modest pace until AM gets back up to a speed that covers TAT.VM's hashes, or I until I buy enough alternate hashes to exceed what is required for backing TAT.VM.

Any alternate hashing that is purchased will likely be held permanently as backing for TAT.VM hashes.

Once the dust has settled, I will issue a new TRANSPARENCY REPORT, showing all holdings used as backing, etc.

Thanks!

Does this mean that the BTC/share should go up from where it is now instead of continuing down, or am I misunderstanding what you mean?

It probably won't affect things much on BTCT.co. If I issue new units anywhere, it can slow price growth or depress the price. However, the volume hasn't been that high on BTCT.co, so the price never was able to get as high as on BitFunder, and thus I have not issued nearly as many.

Ohh, my question was in relation to the dividends (sorry I didn't specify).

The only thing that affects dividends is the current mining difficulty. My work to secure additional backing is unrelated. The backing just serves as additional insurance that dividends will get paid reliably.

1018  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] AMC-The Official Active Mining Cooperative Discussion on: June 18, 2013, 05:02:06 PM
From the current prices on BFL chip coupons ($1 to $2 per chip), I would suggest trading those for something between ($1/100/0.0008 =) 12 to ($2/100/0.0008 =) 25 AMC shares per chip? Thoughts?

Looks good to me. Shall we say 20share/chip?

Think this is a good opportunity to raise wider awareness of AMC, and for people who ordinarily would not own shares, to do so.

20 shares per chip in hand would be fair - otherwise if they're credits or arriving soon then it would probably have to be a bit lower, like 10/13

The proper way to do this would be for AMC to buy the credits from you guys. Trading shares is not within the contract terms.
