1121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: my 20 questions to Satoshi Nakamoto! on: April 21, 2023, 10:35:04 AM
If Satoshi is still alive & I was able to speak to him, I wouldn’t ask him any questions. My questions would be too dumb & would be of no interest to him. I’d just embarrass myself so if I had a few minutes with him all I’d do is thank him for creating bitcoin & tell him how much of a genius he is.

There’s not much more to it, I’d just tell him how he’s the most successful innovator of the last 100 + years & how I am forever in his debt for changing my & so many others lives for the better.
1122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HK envisions a positive outlook for cryptos, especially altcoins ? on: April 21, 2023, 08:35:44 AM
We’re yet to see a positive reaction in the market after this news. I hope we’ll see prices start to pump soon, I would expect if China start to become crypto friendly again it’d be very bullish. In the 2021 bull run when China banned bitcoin we dumped from 45k to 28k briefly in one day, I remember it well. So if China starts becoming crypto friendly again, hopefully it’ll be good for prices. Maybe because the US won’t give regulatory clarity, China sees it as an opportunity to get exchanges to move to China.
1123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: THREE THINGS THAT WILL TRIGGER CRYPTO NEXT BULL RUN on: April 21, 2023, 08:06:53 AM
1) the halving

That's all you need to know. Really.

Pretty much this.

Everything follows the price & trend of bitcoin so cutting the supply of newly mined coins every 4 years creates a supply shock & after a little while this sends the price up, hopefully violently. There really is nothing else tyat sends all coins up. You might get the odd scam coin with low liquidity randomly pumping every now & again ($PEPE) but it’s only the halving that creates a crypto wide pump.

Let’s look forward to the halving, not long to go now, less than a year.
1124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How is the chance of $PEPE to become the next $SHIB? on: April 19, 2023, 07:10:01 PM
One big dildo green, and then red continues into the ground.

This, unfortunately. It’s done well but it’s an extremely illiquid shitcoin, congratulations to anybody who managed to do well out of it but I don’t think it’ll replicate SHIB which did unreal ROI. I think this $PEPE coin will trend to near $0 soon.
1125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advise to a friend on: April 19, 2023, 01:41:35 PM
Tell him to buy bitcoin, explain to him about the block reward  every 4 years & what that means for the supply, how bitcoin is deflationary. Tell him how this compares to the $ which is to quote Michael Saylor, a block of ice melting via annual (theft tax) inflation.

It’s up to your friend what he does with his money but explain bitcoin as best as you can. I hope he buys, and last thing tell him not to shitcoin.
1126  Economy / Economics / Re: Why FedNow seems like a bad idea on: April 19, 2023, 12:39:39 PM
It’s a test to see how well received a CBDC could he, it’s to test your compliance. I think it’s bad, real bad. Nobody wants to be followed, every step they make, every move they make. It’s all about control as we see with China & I hope it’s resisted. I just don’t think the West should be thinking about implementing this kind of totalitarian presence.
1127  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Madness of many! on: April 19, 2023, 10:40:22 AM
But I seen politics as a game of classical cartels for shares interest. Is a win won or lose loss. This is real antepenultimate in lives of humans to play games over others.

We’re never really going to know who the good guys & who the bad guys are. We will never know the true motives  of world leaders & high ranking politicians. We’re just normal people getting on with our day to day lives. It doesn’t really matter who is in charge as long as it’s not some awful dictators or people like Hitler.

Our lives don’t change that much if product X is cheaper under one president but more expensive under another. Everything they give with one hand they take away with another. Don’t get too bent out of shape on politics, it’s not good to obsess over things you have very little control over.
1128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC calls Algorand a security - thoughts? on: April 19, 2023, 09:56:03 AM
My thinking is SEC can attack and call any cryptocurrency as a security but they don't have full rights to do it successfully.

At this stage I think the SEC is not fit for purpose. They are protecting nobody except the $ & big banks interests. How do they protect retail investors, by denying them access to life changing investment opportunities.

The SEC needs disbanding & some kind of other regulatory committee needs to be appointed, people who are in the 21st century, not the 1800’s. There needs to be scope for new technology otherwise the $ will weaken as innovation & adoption of new tech goes abroad.
1129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The fall of crypto influencers. on: April 19, 2023, 09:02:07 AM
Most of them are just in it for engagement & the paid advertising & sponsorship they get from it. Very few are true, dedicated bitcoin maxis. There are no heroes in bitcoin & that’s what makes its decentralised design so special, we don’t have to rely on any individuals.

I have seen so many of these so called influencers turn to shilling crappy alts because they get paid to do it. Ben Armstrong is one of the worst & MMCrypto is equally irritating. That Moon Carl dude is annoying too. None of tyese guys are worth following.
1130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin is Speculation & Gambling" - Warren Buffett Critisize on: April 15, 2023, 09:25:34 PM
He hates bitcoin like all really rich, old boomer, bank & legacy finance guys do. People don’t like what they don’t understand. Let’s be honest, who cares what he thinks any way, he probably won’t be alive to see the next two halvings.

Warren Buffett has got extremely wealthy by doing things that he’s very good at, investing in stocks. He doesn’t need to learn about & master bitcoin, why would he. All old people hate new tech, it scares them & tgey don’t like learning new things.

Bitcoin is going mainstream & tgere’s nothing people like him can do about it.
1131  Economy / Speculation / Re: I missed the bottom or i have time to invest on: April 15, 2023, 09:09:46 PM
It’s impossible to time the bottom, it’s tough to even call the bottom 10% to 15% above range. There is never a bad time to buy bitcoin as long as you can be patient & hold for a number of years. The best time to buy bitcoin was before 2013 but you could do a hell of a lot worse than buying now.

The bottom of this cycle probably was 15k but don’t sit in cash waiting for lower. Just buy now or DCA in.
The halving is in one year so buying now is a really good idea because much higher prices are very likely in the next 2 years.
1132  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Work or bitcoin; what do you think? on: April 15, 2023, 09:02:58 PM
Well take it, and do Bitcoin on the side.
Never put all eggs into on basket.

Good advice here.

Never limit your options by committing & going all in on one option. Get the guaranteed job, steady income & work on, buy & save bitcoin in your spare time. You can definitely make time for both, the forum isn't important but you can definitely make time to study bitcoin & buy some when you are not working hard in your regular job.
1133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stories about lost Bitcoin on: April 15, 2023, 07:48:34 PM
I’ve never lost any bitcoin but I have spent some whilst the price was very low in 2015 & 2016. Luckily I didn’t sell most of my stash but I did sell some very low to buy dumb stuff back in the day. I think it is character building though, early adopters have all made some silly mistakes earlier on but it makes you appreciate the bitcoin that you do have more.
1134  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Long-Term Impact of the Pandemic on Mental Health in 2023 on: April 15, 2023, 07:14:11 PM
It was an unprecedented time in our lives, it’ll probably never happen again, certainly not this century. Our grandchildren probably won’t even believe what happened, the restrictions we were put under etc.

It doesn’t surprise me that people are struggling with their mental health after what we went through. Lots of people were alone & not able to meet with family & friends. Hopefully they get help from a professional if required.

I hope we never have to go through anything like that again.
1135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are Meme Coins? on: April 15, 2023, 06:34:22 PM
I don’t think any of them have a real future as a means of payment in mainstream finance. I do think that you can make quick money on them & get out ASAP into safer, more reliable investments though & that’s the aim for most meme coin investors.

Do your own research but there are opportunities out there to do very well in these projects. Just don’t hold them long term.
1136  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people stay poor? on: April 15, 2023, 04:12:34 PM
I don’t think anybody plans to stay poor, it’s just that being rich is not an option for most people & almost impossible for some. There are exceptions to the rule sure but most people simply do not have a way to be rich.
Luckily for those of us here on this forum we are at least aware of cryptocurrency & the massive positives it can bring us. Cryptocurrencies are a great way for the average guy of little means to make money.
1137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in Bitcoin by selling wife's jewelry on: April 15, 2023, 02:53:54 PM
Bitcoin is a much better investment than good for many reasons. I would be very careful selling your wife’s jewellery though. If she loves them for sentimental reasons then you better be damn sure that you are going to make good profit in quick time.

If she is willing to give you at least 10 years to sit on your bitcoin & do nothing then it’s as close to a guarantee as you can get that you will turn her jewellery money into major profits.
1138  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will Achraf hakimi's smartness be the new normal for footballers. on: April 14, 2023, 10:10:48 PM
I saw what he did & it’s quite disloyal & a bit sneaky but I understand his motives. This isn’t the first & won’t be the last time a rich dude does something like this to protect his wealth. What happens if his Mother is disloyal though & gets a taste of the big money which leads to her screwing him over? Once it’s in writing it’s her momey even though clearly, it’s not.

There is a reason prenuptial agreements exist, I find it all really sad though. The world would he a better place if everybody was more honest
1139  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin tops $40,000 after Musk says Tesla could use it again on: April 14, 2023, 09:21:48 PM
The article was published back in June 2021.

I got excited when I saw the thread title, I check the bitcoin price a lot & was sure I hadn’t seen the price go above 40k. I thought maybe it was a wick on a 5 minute candle that retraced as quick as it appeared & I had missed it. Dumb me for falling for it though.

The good thing is that we will 100% see bitcoin at 40k & it could be this year, hey it could even be this quarter. Bitcoin is the apex predator swallowing up investors money.

I’m not too bothered about Elon Musk accepting bitcoin with TESLA, that’s kind of irrelevant now.
1140  Economy / Economics / Re: Is renting an inevitable waste of money? on: April 14, 2023, 08:54:04 PM
There’s nothing wrong with renting, it’s harder than ever to get on the property ladder. I’m in my 20’s & it’s hard to get together the big down payment to start with. Mortgage financing is harder than ever. Sure renting is paying somebody else’s bills but what option do we have in the current climate.

I am currently saving hard to get the down payment to buy my first home. I will get there eventually but it is really tough. Hopefully my crypto investments can help me in the next cycle, I feel like I am well positioned there.
