1181  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Implications of War on Individuals on: October 17, 2023, 11:20:00 PM
- do you have any survival tips during war period?
Conserve energy and go to a place where you think is the safest to you and your family first.

- are there any business that I can do during a period of war so as to sustain my family?
If this is during the period of war, I wouldn't do anything but to just preserve myself and my family to be alert at all times because you'll not know if bombs are already on the way and bullets will go through your roof and walls.

Can I still budget, save and earn in Bitcoin?
As long as there's still an internet connection by that time but as I've said, I will think first of my safety and just to survive until the period of war ends.

What is the economic impacts on individuals with families and how do I sustain them during war period.
I haven't gone through it and I don't intend to. But watching, hearing, and reading the experiences of the war veterans and the families that have gone through with it, it's so hard. It's like the entire world has shattered on them and despite they know that there's hope, it's just so hard to uplift them economically and emotionally.
1182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Changed the game you gamble on? share your story. on: October 17, 2023, 10:52:00 PM
Is it the game you started playing as a gambler that you still play till now?
Yes, but I am not closing myself into trying other things. It is that whenever I am used to a game, I stay there as long as I am enjoying it.

Is there any gambler in this place who was used to playing a particular game before but never was successful winning or did not win enough and then made up their mind that it was time for a change in the game you gamble on.
I am sure that many do and that's the change needed for them if they want to find success in some of their bets. Because if no change will be done, they'll be stuck to wherever they are and that's what they don't want to happen to all of them.

Which game did you change from, and what did you change to? how long did you play the game that you are deciding to stop playing because of the bad outcomes?
Didn't change a lot but if it's about stopping. It's like when I am in a losing streak. And that's when I don't like to see myself dwelling in losses, I may chase sometimes but it is no use because it is not making any good progress at all and that's why it's just best to stop because anything else happens which could worsen my disappointment.

Two things for me about first, buying gambling accounts. There have been gamblers who want to have as many accounts as they want because there are some limits that can't be pushed with their existing accounts and also, they don't want to comply with the KYC once their accounts are being asked to do so and that's why they resort into buying gambling accounts because they think that it's the solution for it. But little did they know, that the same problem will occur in the future and it could be more troublesome than owning their own.

Buying an account may lead to a ban because casinos forbid the sharing or selling of accounts.  Once the casino knows about this activity, the account sold will be automatically get banned.  Aside from that if the account already performed a KYC but only lvl 1, and incident appear where the casino asks for a level 2 KYC, the fund on the account will be autmatically doomed because. as bought KYC'ed account, the current owner will be unable to submit the document needed by the casino unless the seller (original owner) agreed to help him.
That's why it is a red flag for those that have been thinking to do this and for those that have been accustomed into this type of trade, they should just stop it because no matter how good they are in hiding into this activity. They're just wasting their money and time.

I do not think that all of them are exploiters, it is possible that some just missed reading the ToS and commit an error by doing things that should have not been done like using VPN when VPN is not allowed to be used while accessing the platform.
Maybe that offense can give them a warning and if the casino is too kind enough then they will be spared. But if they do the same thing again and are caught the second time around then that's different this time as the abuse has been found on them. Could have been a case to case basis but when the casino strongly applies their rules onto these gamblers then they will have hard time in defending themselves and as you've said, if ever they still have some funds remaining, they might not get it anymore.

We can fairly say that Nouns are the dark horses of TI right ? With that high pace Dota 2 they play , I won't be surprised if a lot of teams will face difficulties playing against them and Azure might be the first victim of them on main stage.
Yeah, I'd agree now that nouns are the dark horse and least favorite of fans on this version of TI. They're all exceptional and IIRC, whenever K1 is placed on, his team gets a buff. His former team and teammates were already out of the tournament ending in the 17th-20th place. Good thing that he was kicked back there and went taken by a better team because he's a talented carry.

LGD vs 9pandas should be the game of the day where normally we get 3 maps and LGD as winner.

Liquid vs Talon ...this game I think will give us one of the finalist as both teams are playing amazingly so far.  Cool
I am now in belief that Team Spirit is making this tournament easy. If you guys remember it was the prime of OG and Nigma when they made every single tournament easy on their hands. This is what it looks like for Team Spirit, despite that they've been already a TI champ, it's like they have never been weakened by season. Maybe not now but soon they will, anyway, that's not the matter as they seem to be still dominant and on their prime.

But little did they know, that the same problem will occur in the future and it could be more troublesome than owning their own.
Buying casino accounts is nothing but stupidity if you ask me, except the purpose for account buying is different from this which you have said above, like for example, there is this group on facebook where users engage in casino account trade, and one of the most popular casino which its account are being traded on that group is stake, and i believe this to be for no other reason other than the weekly and monthly bonuses stake users enjoy, even down to the account with no gambling activity for weeks or months.
Yeah, that's one reason for that when they try to trade accounts but that will be flagged as suspicious whenever they log in from different devices and sources. Casinos usually do see the change in activity and location that their players are in. Because that could land as a reason for abuse in their bonuses and we knew it that there have been gamblers that are good into strategizing this matter because they get as much as they can and can max out the rewards that's given to their users.

And then again, In as much i still discourage casino account trading, there are still some cases where engaging in such is simply a business for the buyer, since they probably would have already known that such account can indeed bring problem in the future, but they still go ahead and buy hoping that before such problem comes, they would have made their money back, plus some good profit, But then, those who can have a chance of being profitable in such deals are those who have become really good and have taken gambling as a profession.
I guess it will only be stopped when huge amounts are on their balances and they get caught and stopped by the casino they're abusing. That's painful when they get into that trouble and they're having delays with their withdrawals for that very same reason why they're flagged and stopped by the casino. So much better to just stay on your own account and enjoy.
1186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP and Roblox and Bitpay on: October 17, 2023, 08:49:41 PM
Lol. Roblox is mostly for kids. Are they just trying to promote crypto and especially their coin to the young generation.
They probably will ask their parents to pay in XRP if they have heard somewhere that their dads or moms are into cryptocurrencies. Anyway, good news as it is for XRP, and can get the term about accepting crypto for a game since Roblox has hundreds of millions of players.
It's better if they also allow Bitcoin to get accepted into this game and other altcoins that are mostly popular in the market. Since they're partnered up with Bitpay then it's most likely that every cryptocurrency that they support can be used for payments in-game purchases.
As long as we get to understand the context of it as this game accepts now crypto, I guess that's the most important part of this news.

Next about playing in reputable casinos. When there are newbies posting their rants and how they were scammed by unknown casinos, you'll have the idea and question to your mind why they ended up with that casino, right? It's because they're explorers and want to try something new but not at all times that being adventurous will bring them into a better experience. This is the reason that it's so much better to get into reputable casinos especially when they're able to build their brand and reputation all over the time. You have a peace of mind that you'll never be left behind by that casino you know.
1188  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and it effects on: October 17, 2023, 07:57:38 PM
Just always remember in doing things, we must take accountability and we need to be responsible in doing all of it including gambling. We see legitimate worries and concerns from people who don't really gamble because they see the side effects of it from those gamblers who are not aware of its effect. It's nice to see people like them that have genuine concern because all they want is the best for everybody. But also, actual and real gamblers know what's best for them and they're all aware that gambling could do good and at the same time bad things for them if they ever allow some negative thoughts from them. The ones who have experienced bad things with gambling can simply quit and forget about its existence. But can't stop the ones that are also still optimistic about it and can't stop themselves in doing so because they're enjoying it and are not removing the fact that they can win some bucks through it.

most gamblers are very well aware of what they are doing up until they are not. once they start going deep and out of control with their gambling habits, that's when they will be having trouble as they won't contain their activities anymore. they have other goals and for them, they won't stop up until they get. the sad reality is, they won't get back those losses anymore. so if they won't realise what they are doing to their life, they will be on the brink of self-destruction.
They can't take back losses yet they are chasing it. That's really hard to comprehend when you're too focused on the possibilities that you can and for that reason, many gamblers can't do that much with it and that's why they keep going on, especially the most addicted ones. There's like several reminders from other people on what they should do but they can't accept it when they're thinking of how to recover the most losses that they have made. Even if we say that it's easy to quit and that's all they need to do but when their mindsets are all fixed, they cannot help themselves either.

The best anybody can do for himself is to talk to gamblers around them who are addicted and find a way to help them.
Not everyone has that heart but God bless those that have one. It's also hard to find one that's addicted because many want to keep it private and shy to let others know of what they're dealing with as they don't want to get exposed that they're dealing with that problem.

Hey len, that was close and that's just one! But you're right that this is a good reference for you next week when we go into the playoffs.
I told you I can!  Cheesy take a look at my strange bet

I just tried to predict from the kill results of several these teams and all them were almost over 42.5
I thought that you'll do it on the upcoming matches on Friday but you just did it. Congratulations len! Predicting kills is harder than choosing how many minutes the game will take and who's the match winner.

LGD has playing style that is almost similar to Team Liquid, which is very fast but has a lot of kills, but Team Liquid usually plays very fast with few kills. and for Nouns, I would be surprised if could beat Tundra who is TI11 champion.
Yeah, that's also the observation that I see from the Chinese teams. They're like having more kills but longer games if they can't end the game as soon as possible. It's like a turtling game because that's what they're good at.

It will be incredibly interesting to watch how Tundra will play in the lower bracket, especially if they pick Witch Doctor against them, or now they will ban him in every game? Wink
There will be no room for error.
I feel that it looks like it was nothing before but the actual impact of that Witch Doctor from the match they had with nouns could probably put trauma to them. Maybe they'll use that hero against Entity or much better that they should ban it as Gabbi could use that hero against them.

5 days of rest is too much in my opinion. I hope I don’t lose the good mood during this time that I had during the group stage. Anyway, I would like to see a 3 day break, not 5. However, this is good for the teams, they will be able to walk around the city and see interesting places to recharge themselves. Of course after analyzing all the games of opponents. After this, the victories of the underdogs can continue, although this rarely happens in the lower bracket.
This is like the first long weekdays for the players as well and after this, the semifinals and then the grandfinals. I agree with you that it's better if the break just took 3 days but anyway, that's how long Valve wants them to take a break and rest for this TI.
1190  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Flood the natural disaster on: October 17, 2023, 12:53:19 PM
This natural disaster is something that has become a yearly nightmare all around the world...
It displaces people... properties... businesses...lost of lives.etc
I think there should be an organization all around the world to tackle this to an extent..
What's your take on this?
There's Greenpeace and they're all for the good of the world including the natural resources and that's what they're campaign which includes climate change and everything related to green. They're getting support from various organizations and funded by some companies that are all out to support their advocacy. Although it seems late for people who see these natural calamities like flash floods to solve it, they're doing what they can and have their initiatives to do to help nature and preserve what they can still preserve. On our own, we can do in our tiniest help to contribute to avoiding these floods which are caused by our wrongdoings like cutting down trees, blockage of water passage due to random throwing of garbages.
1191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can somebody make a successful career in gambling on: October 17, 2023, 12:20:08 PM
I think the easiest way to make a career out of gambling is to either offer the gambling to someone else, sell ads about gambling, or basically be an influencer that talks about gambling and they would get some payment on the side, maybe youtube, etc.
I reckon that it's the easiest way but to be on that part is going to make you go through a very tough road. That's a lot of effort needed to be considered by these casinos and become an influencer to them. All you have to do is to gain a social media presence and a community that trusts you and everything that you tell them. That's a factor that will make you hired as an influencer or an ambassador of a casino and from there, that's already a successful career. Drake is an exception, he's a rapper and also an ambassador and a gambler at the same time. But we can get an idea if you've got that solid following.

Trying to make money from actually gambling makes no sense because the odds are against the gambler.
And the house always wins.

While we're off for a few days with Dota 2 games. Who is watching now the match on CS2 - IEM Sydney, Lynn Vision against Cloud 9? C9 took 2 maps against LV.
Also live now is ENCE and Fnatic.
Saw a bit of these Intel Masters series late Sunday evening since they are Australia it was Monday morning.
Watched the trailer for this tournament it being the first major to transition to full source 2:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtxxF0W1tI0
Yeah, they started yesterday and now there are the upper and lower brackets already. The difference between CS2 from Dota 2 bracketing is that they've got groups A and B still on bracketing with the upper and lower brackets. However, if we analyze that, there's not that much difference in it because it still falls down to the playoffs, semis, and grand finals. So, the match that I have mentioned which was ENCE and Fnatic was done and this match was in the group B upper bracket. ENCE moves to the upper bracket finals and if they win tomorrow, they'll be qualified to the playoffs. Whilst Fnatic falls down to the lower bracket of B and will face Monte tomorrow. The current active matches as of typing this are;

Group A - lower bracket:
  • Na'Vi vs FaZe clan
  • GamerLegion vs Apeks
1193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some gambling questions. on: October 17, 2023, 10:28:45 AM
How many percent of signature earnings you gamble away?
It varies, there are times that I usually don't spend a lot and there are times that I do spend the most of it. I am not addicted so I can manage myself and only gambles with a real amount that I can afford to lose.

Do you prefer Fiat or crypto at a display currency?
In some instances, I'd like to do it with fiat but since it's easier to do it with crypto then that's what I am mostly using at these times.

What is your favorite game you play all the time?
Sports betting, dice.

What is your favorite casino platform?
Duelbits and Stake.

Are you a responsible gambler?
As I have said, I am not an addicted gambler which makes me say that I am a responsible gambler and I know what I am spending with and how much I am spending when I gamble. And that's what most of the gamblers need to remember when they are out of their leagues. Going back to how responsible they are, what are their spending habits and control themselves when it's necessary and they feel that they're going far.
1194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why meme coins are trending? on: October 17, 2023, 09:54:59 AM
Meme tokens started as funny internet stuff
From the word itself as a meme, it's all about fun stuff and this has all started with Dogecoin. If we're considering bitcoin as the father of this market, the crypto market and considered as the king. Then there is Dogecoin as the king of all memes and where it all started. Followed by the other popular meme coins like Shiba, Pepe, etc. Too many to mention and their success can't be denied and how many of the folks here have cashed out a lot of money from these meme coins are uncontested.

but they are turning into serious business with real communities behind them.
It's true about having backed by real communities that the founders of it have built. Many have leaned towards these meme coins because they've seen the love from its communities and it has been left there. It's just so hard to believe that before they were like nothing and impossible to be seen as projects that would have that much volume but then we saw during the last bull run that many of them became the apple of the eye. Even with that, I'll still not going to be serious with them and I am able to get some profits through it, I'll not reinvest on them and likely just going to let everything on my pockets empty until I sold most of them that are remaining on me.
1195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think about trading feature? on: October 17, 2023, 09:27:08 AM
I think that the title should be changed to trading game and not feature because I've thought of actual trading that we usually get and do in exchanges. Well, if they can expand for more games and the players like it based on the data that it shows then that's a good addition for them so that there can be a lot of choices for gamblers that are tired of looking at the same games that keeps on beating them. Those who are good in trading like the ones who mostly do it in futures can take this game seriously. I also think that this is a good platform for those who are interested in learning more about trading. But it's just kind of a different setting since they're casinos and not actual exchanges. Maybe soon we'll see some exchanges have their special link for their traders to play some gambling games. Since there are casinos that have added some trading type game and probably features the same as the exchanges in the nearest future.
1196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A person who won 600k$ in lottery on: October 17, 2023, 08:42:25 AM
This story shows that if we've won the lottery jackpot or any gambling game and it seems to be a huge amount, money is quickly going to be gone if we don't spend it wisely. Maybe you owe a lot of people because they've helped you but it's better if you just leave it as is because that's forever in your heart and you'll remember that forever. But if you want to give back to them, make sure that you're not giving all to them. That's the mistake of many people they've been giving all that they have and thinking that they are not going to run out of money because of the huge amount that they've won either with the lottery or any game that they played. $600k is such a life-changing prize honestly and the first thing that I'll do if I am the one to get it is that I'll keep myself silent. Yes, silence is much better on this time because you'll never know aside from asking some giveaways from those neighbors and relatives that you have, there could be people around you that are jealous of what happened to you. The wise folks will surely divide that money some for leisure and comfort but the most of it will be reinvested somewhere else that will generate them passive income for life and that's the best decision that someone can do. People will surround you because you have money but when you've left with nothing, they will flee from you.
1197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: October 17, 2023, 07:22:03 AM
GG used to beat up every team roster recently on Dota scene specially on EU and NA but they cant really totally shut down SEA specially Talon Esports. Come to think back that they are also once been dropped to lower bracket on Riyadh masters as far as i remember which we could really be able to say that they are indeed the kryptonite of GG team and pretty sure that they are aware. The bad thing on being on the upper bracket
of Talon is that they would really be facing Liquid which we do know that they are really that outmatched by Liquid whenever they are really that matched up. Lets see if they would really be making out some adjustments basing up on past performance.
Yeah, it's like Gaimin Gladiators has Talon Esports as their kryptonite and they're always losing against them. I think that this is to be expected of Gaimin Gladiators. Many teams have been on their shoe like they've been the best for that year and then they've been outperformed during The Internationals. I see people who are happy that they've seen Gaimin Gladiators being beaten especially Quinn because of his behavior in the pubs and think of himself as a superstar. No hate against him and probably the haters will never reach what Quinn has achieved but let it be like that. The lower bracket has become tougher with all of these former TI winners(Tundra) against Entity which is also a good team.

Even with that Tundra vs Nouns which it is really that unexpected that they had get that 2-0 which is on favor with Nouns. We do know on how dominating Tundra is
but surprisingly they have been beat up but of course its not really that too much of a concern knowing that they are really just heading on lower bracket.
I feel that Nouns have become the former Tundra. If you guys can remember how good they were during the time they became champions which was last year, everything has been smooth and we'll get to see if Nouns will prove themselves against Azure Ray. Also, the prizes are all out now. Here is the distribution for their prizes.

Prize Pool
The initial prize pool of the tournament is $1,600,000 USD.
An additional 25% of all Compendium sales are added to the total prize pool.[1]
The current total prize pool is $3,045,188 USD ($1,445,188 USD added).

1st
$1,370,476  45%   TBD

2nd
$365,406    12%     TBD

3rd
$243,672    8%      TBD

4th
$167,461    5.5%    TBD

5th-6th
$99,023      3.25%  TBD

7th-8th
$76,110      2.5%   TBD

9th-12th
$60,867      2%      TBD

13th-16th
$45,726      1.5%   TBD

17th-20th
$30,484      1%  Team SMG / Thunder Awaken / beastcoast / PSG Quest

As we can see, there's a huge difference between the 1st and 2nd place which is typical, and the champion will still get $1.3M and that's not bad right? Compared to other esports, this is still a lot of money for the prize pool despite that many have been disappointed about it including me.

While we're off for a few days with Dota 2 games. Who is watching now the match on CS2 - IEM Sydney, Lynn Vision against Cloud 9? C9 took 2 maps against LV.

1198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: October 16, 2023, 05:56:28 PM
There's alot of responsibilities on our hands, as parents we must ensure that we are responsible to our kids and have a positive influence on their daily lives. They are only children, but they absorb in fresh knowledge that they see very quickly.
That's like their skill as a child, they are quick to absorb everything that's being fed to them and they've got the best memory being shaped as they grow. And with having these activities done in front of them, they're quick to remember and will ask you questions that you may not like because it gives you the guilty feeling that you shouldn't be gambling in front or even not in front of them when you want them to grow not as a gambler. But deep inside, you're actually a gambler and there's no way that you'll deny it to them if you want them to be honest with as well.

When it comes to conversations, there should be a structure of leadership we should only tell them what is appropriate and what they are qualified to know, and we shouldn't be reluctant to let them know about the challenges and hardships life could present. Children are priceless gifts from life, and we should cherish and care for them.
They are good listeners and from there as a parent, we must tell them the dangers of it so that they'll have an idea of why they must avoid gambling and why only adults can do that. As long as they're no longer curious, it means that you're doing a great job for explaining to them the importance first of listening to their parents, next the dangers of a gambler that doesn't have a source of income and then what could lead those problems into another problems if they're not going to follow what's being told to them.
1199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Drake's Curse. on: October 16, 2023, 05:24:18 PM
I have nothing to say because I don't have that much money and don't have the balls to bet with that amount and regardless of the result, I'd still be that rich. Drake is known for that and yeah, he became a content for many influencers and we didn't know if that money just came from his sponsor which is known to most of us as he's a brand ambassador as well. He makes money out of these bets and having that attention from the world is raking him such contracts and money probably more than those bets. So whether he lost that bet or he'll lose again with the next bet that he'll be interested in, it won't be painful to him anymore. Sponsors, royalties from his music, so as I've said I've got nothing to say.
Now, I've got to say that he's living a life and at least that he can repeat that what he does while us, we're just putting him in the midst of our discussions while we'll probably never do it even once in our lifetimes.
1200  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino Junket Operator on: October 16, 2023, 04:58:13 PM
The term "lure" might come across as somewhat harsh, given that there are junket operators who operate with transparency and integrity. They earn their income through commissions obtained from the casinos where they successfully attract high-rollers and VIPs, akin to how review websites function.

In the case of Yexel Sebastian and Mikee Agusting, the situation was different; investors directly provided their funds to them, not to the casino. This may not fit the traditional definition of a junket operator, does it?
That's the mistake of the investors, they've directed it to the cons and if it's a legitimate junket then they should have directly sent it to the casino having all of those legitimacies and contracts provided.

And you're right that there could be other methods that the junket operators does but these people just did the other way as they attracted and convinced a lot of people to go with them and sign under them.

I'm curious if they implemented a referral system as part of their scheme, but I haven't been able to find any news articles or information on this. Does anyone have any insights or information regarding this aspect?
This is what I am thinking of and they've earned a lot with that referral system that the junket provided them. That's why with their popularity, it's not new that celebrities or someone influential are being used in these schemes and later on turned into a scam. It's hard to know the actual procedures of this scheme because they're saying that it's just for VIP people and having with that minimum amount someone could just top up the money from other people to make someone a representative to them as collected for that pool of funds.
