1181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This time for meme coin? on: July 21, 2023, 12:40:08 PM
~snipped~

Coin categories such as memcoins will always appear in huge quantities, regardless of the approaching halving, market trend, or the presence of any particular altcoin season or season of any particular coins. It's all about the very nature of memcoins.
Yes, I know memecoins are not stressful to create and push to the market. However, the point I made there is that there's often a mad demand for them during a bull season because of their cheap prices. Noob investors would mistake these low prices and their low market cap for an indication that there's more room for growth and then buy in. During bear season most investors are meticulous as they're disgruntled investing. Every cent counts during a bear season. Investors are more skeptical and careful during a bear season than they're during a bull season.

1183  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin is the kidney of cryptocurrency on: July 18, 2023, 08:32:46 PM
The big question is can you live without kidney? I guess the answer is NO so therefore Bitcoin is the kidney of digital currencies.
Heart would've been a better analogy. Every human has two kidneys but just one heart. One kidney can be taken out if it goes very bad and no replacement made of it and the human will survive but that can't be tried with the heart. Anyway, I got your drift there.

That's why all the other coins or tokens follow the Bitcoin price thread.
It doesn't always happen that way. You will be safe to say most follow it but it becomes a hasty generalization when you say, "all"

I'll admit to being a novice.
Well, on this admittance; let me quickly remind you that you posted in a roll and that's not good. It's against the forum rule. You've to merge your two posts or ask mods to do it if you don't know how to do it.
1185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Where to invest 7k usdt on: July 18, 2023, 06:39:10 PM
Where to invest 7k usdt

To get profit daily 30$
First off, you've to know that this is a forum with random fellows. You don't have to take anyone as a financial expert. Verify whatever you're told and do your research before executing any advice.

$30 per day, so that's $900 per month and 10k+ per year. You are really expecting to earn $900 per month by just investing $7,000? Not going to happen.
You took the calculation on the whole and that's why you think it's huge. It's not. $30 daily on a $7,000 investment is less than 0.5% daily. I don't think that's asking for too much.
1186  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Missing addresses from imported master public key on: July 18, 2023, 04:15:57 PM
I could give a screen shot but don't want to reveal by used public addresses.
Not as if anyone would care to see what's in those addresses anyway. I'm not sure public addresses put anyone in danger apart from unveiling how much they've received. However, you can block part of the letters in the addresses or blur them out to prevent the public knowing what's there.

I did screen captures, how do I upload them.  No option to select my image files that I can see on this website.
There's a new image hosting site for the forum created by user joker_josue after imgur started misbehaving. You can find everything about it at the Image hosting for BitcoinTalk thread.
1187  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MT4 lots and leverage on: July 18, 2023, 02:30:47 PM
If I have a balance of $2000 and want to trade it all on btc/usd with a 10x leverage how do I do that
You will be better off on spot trading than futures as it's now. From the type of questions you've been asking it's obvious you're a greenhorn in trading. Don't experiment with that much cash. Just buy Bitcoin and leave it for next year. That way, I can assure you it must roll into profit. If you decide to do otherwise and trade it yourself on futures, count your losses. You're bound to lose all, even if it's $2000 trading capital. Don't jump into trading, especially futures. It's volatile. Equip yourself with the set skills for trading. You can source trading materials on YouTube at al and learn all there's to trading before venturing into it.

As an aside, why not do a 5% on leverage if you must insist on trading futures at all cost. Don't forget to take a long position on Bitcoin. Don't swim against the tide.
1188  Economy / Speculation / Re: Be patient and you will be there soon. on: July 18, 2023, 01:08:18 PM
I bought BTC early last year when the price was $20k, and the price has taken a good step early this year to hit $30k which is very close to my expectations before I will start selling my BTC to have another opportunity to buy and hold for another bull to come.
So, you're speculating that price will dump below $20k from its current level now? I doubt if that will happen because the fundamentals seem to be favouring Bitcoin at this time. We're almost getting to the end of the year and next year is halving, we know how prices spikes because of that. Anything that will cause Bitcoin to dip won't drag it to that point of $20k. I'm certain of that and will be shocked if that happens.

Quote
If the price of BTC reach $40k next month will you sell? I know many people will not sell until the price reach $100k, which it will take a long years before such dream will come to pass. What is your opinion.
I believe that the next ATH will even surpass $100k, let alone $40k. I won't advise anyone to sell off their Bitcoin before halving except it's for settling an emergency issue. My projection is that Bitcoin won't do anything below $120k then.
1189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Woolong Corp Native Token has been HACKED. on: July 18, 2023, 11:04:55 AM
Sure, I'd be happy to provide more details. We hired a tech professional named Sam from Lagos, Nigeria to integrate Woolong Token into the Woolong Corporation Ecosystem. Unfortunately, due to his lack of experience, he was unable to complete the task successfully. We compensated him for the work he did before he was dismissed.
Those two I bolded didn't add up. It's contradictory to tag someone a professional but in the same breath say they lack experience. Except there's something else you meant there, which will be good for you to explain to us.

Quote
The first indication of a problem arose when we discovered that Sam had sold the 10,000 Woolong tokens that were given to him for testing purposes. This raised concerns about his actions and intentions.
This is the same thing bounty hunters suffer here. When such happens the dev teams will turn around to blame hunters for causing token price to dump and then deny them their remaining reward. Again, this makes it obvious what most projects plan ahead to do and that's why they wouldn't pay with stable coin or Bitcoin. Why pay with your native token when you know anyone it's paid to could dump it? If your team had paid the so-called tech dude with Bitcoin or any other stable coin, whatever selling action he took wouldn't have affected your project.

Quote
Regarding your question about a rug pull, I want to clarify that there was no intentional hype, investment attraction, shutdown, or disappearance associated with this incident. It was an unfortunate case of a compromised account and the subsequent loss of assets. We are actively taking steps to enhance our security measures and prevent such incidents in the future.
This will be on you to convince your investors with action, not mere rhetorics. Most devs embark on projects simply to rug pull, nothing else.
1190  Economy / Economics / Re: Always ask for POD form from your bank on: July 18, 2023, 10:05:57 AM
~snipped~
I even wonder if people who do evil intentionally to others even to killing others in either diabolical ways or other ways ever have the thought that they will die someday?
Well that's a topic for another day.
To tell you the sincere truth, I don't think those whose consciences have been seared with hot iron ever imagine in any way that one day they will die. If these ones do, there won't be so much vices and wickedness in this world as everyone will know there's a day of reckoning. This day most people don't evaluate life based on legacy but on wealth. It's worse in Africa. Good name being better than riches is almost a cliché in Africa now.

Quote
I've also heard case where an account officer was operating the account of a deceased even without informing the bank or the family of the deceased...
The story you shared is common place with us in Africa but so many people from saner clans will think it's a figment of someone's imagination.
1191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This time for meme coin? on: July 18, 2023, 07:18:55 AM
You probably know that almost all new meme projects are coming out now. Do you think it is really risky? what effect do you think this could have for the bull market!
Like LogitechMouse said, meme coins aren't just risky but very very very risky, (their own words). I think so too though with one "very" for appropriateness 🤔. If anyone wants to invest in memecoins/tokens they should have it at the back of their mind of the potential risks all carry. We've premium tears from those who invested in memecoins following the successful outing of Shiba Inu. These ones concluded that since Shib had a good run, whatever other meme they invest in will equally do well. That's erroneous.

However, let me quickly add that as we approach Bitcoin halving year there are going to be more scam and shitty projects that will hit the market to catch unguarded investors unawares. Bull run is that period when almost anything in the name of a project is embraced. People should be careful.
1192  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Signature Campaigns on: July 17, 2023, 11:45:11 PM
I recently had a discussion on a forum with some friends about how effective these signature campaigns are for casinos.
How many members actually click on those links and considering the costs of the campaigns, how profitable is it for the initiators of the campaigns?
Besides the visibility these signature campaigns get among members and those wearing the logos here to relate as "work" colleagues, we should also realize that there are unregistered members (guests) who flock here to pick projects to invest in. There must be something advantageous these casinos enjoy for being here that makes more of them seek to run campaigns here. Every business does its feasibility studies, either before setting out or while in the business already to rework their strategy and I'm of the opinion that these casinos aren't dumb not to have done such and seen what benefits they're getting here. They can't be throwing cash around if they aren't getting positive energy, so to speak, from it.
1193  Other / Meta / Re: The problems newbies face on: July 17, 2023, 11:15:14 PM
Normally newbies who just join this forum are been attacked by those that have been here for long and secondly the rules and guidance and where to post and not to post and gaining merit .
Like they would say – Grow a thick skin.

Your observation that newbies get attacked may be right if you're referring to them be checked in open criticism (constructive criticism, that's) which I think are for the right reasons, then you're correct. If you're seeking everyone to turn a blind eye when you err then I don't think you've come to the right forum. Plagiarism and spam posts are two of the top vices that annoy (in generality) the top brass here. So, keep that in mind and do right.
1194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be watchful it's not yet time on: July 17, 2023, 07:40:37 PM
Do your research and never rely on anyone to give you accurate information about any projects because it's your money and by no chance did those people contributed to you.
True, it's everyone's choice to make when to invest and on what project/coin to invest on. For me, the caveat there is DYOR – Do Your Own Research. This approach has saved a lot of investors from getting scammed and the agony of loss. Going forward, I do think now is a great time to invest in Bitcoin. Even if we shouldn't get carried away by the excitement of  a bull season, we should continue to invest gradually whenever a dip presents itself through DCA. Those who bought Bitcoin when it was $17k a few mouths ago are already in profit. I don't think price can ever fall back to that region; at least, not this year.
1195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not compared to Bitcoin with the best anyone on: July 17, 2023, 05:57:00 PM
Altcoins include ethereum, polygon etc. Already heard of dying of altcoins. Many peoples invest in different platforms. Some people hold ethereum polygon bnb etc. But their prices don't rise much.  Are they better to hold and invest than Bitcoin? In my opinion Bitcoin is the best to hold. We have all seen the volatile Bitcoin market in the past few months.
If you want to hodl for long term, choose Bitcoin but if you're hodling to flip it for profit at any time you can make best of the credible altcoins if you know what you're doing. The reason I said that is because on the short run altcoins give better ROI compared to Bitcoin investment. However, I won't advice a noob invest to do altcoins because it's more risky compared to Bitcoin investment.

Quote
Investing in bitcoins is better than spending money on a lover but it sounds ridiculous but it is true.
The base of your comparison is faulty. Bitcoin is inanimate while a lover is flesh and blood. As humans, we need the company and touch of others. All work and no play make a credible Satoshi dull. Life without humans will be boring no matter how wealthy one is.
1196  Economy / Economics / Re: Always ask for POD form from your bank on: July 17, 2023, 03:42:47 PM
I think everyone needs to get this form especially  if you have any holdings in the bank.

N/B: no one is dying anytime soon but death is inevitable.
Your last sentence is the icing on the cake and it's true. Our people think when anyone talks about death around them it's a bad omen. Whether we talk about death or not, it's something that's programmed to happen. The simple way to sequent it is to say that we all are dead people walking but waiting to drop.

Now that banks are beginning to have this form it will also be good for them to always alert their customers about it with series of adverts on it. They shouldn't just be silent about it and then insidiously wait when such funds can't be tracked by deceased families so the banks can claim them.
1197  Economy / Economics / Re: Entrepreneurship and women on: July 17, 2023, 02:12:39 PM
Entrepreneurship is a field not specified for on gender they can both involve and alook make good profit it does not require you to be a woman to be a successful business person likewise to men too every gender is perfect in entrepreneurship so long as you know it's principles, obligations and what it takes.
This is the same thing I ask whenever I see a seemingly sexist comment or suggestion in relation to business or entrepreneurship. What has sex got to do with business if the proper things are adhered to? Nothing. Except in countries where corners are cut to please the other sex or physical strength is demanded to cut through heavy duty, otherwise both male and female are equally endowed with the same brain capacity. In the real sense of it, I don't think it should be a competition of sexes. Rather, male and woman should compliment each other.
1198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Are Not Nerdy Enough on: July 17, 2023, 10:24:01 AM
I understand that my frustration might be due to the fact that I am coming from a very privileged position. What are your thoughts on this?
Yes, I think you're unnecessarily getting worked up. Bitcoin debuted in January 2009 but I got to hear of it for the first time in Dec 2016. That's more than seven years later. It's the same way you OP are getting to register here this year (don't laugh me to scorn if this isn't your first account here) whereas this forum has been in existence for over a decade now. I think people are entitled to their time and pace. Those who aren't in tune with Bitcoin now doesn't mean they won't come around it. In my local parlance, there's a relevant saying to the issue at hand. We say, "when a man wakes from his slumbers is his morning." That's what's happening to those who don't know about Bitcoin. It's not yet their morning.
1199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has already campaign for itself on: July 17, 2023, 07:59:05 AM
Let me say that Bitcoin has taken it stand and theirs no point of carrying out campaign of Bitcoin like before or imposing Bitcoin knowledge to children which we know that with time those children you are trying to teach bitcoin will know of Bitcoin through a social media.
Whether with Bitcoin or any other field of endeavour, I find it distasteful when people coerce others into doing things they aren't keen on doing, especially if it's something on career. If it were on discipline, I'm all in on that. Children should be taught morals and etiquettes but we shouldn't force them into pleasing us when it comes to picking a career. Adults who haven't done enough of investing on their own are coercing children to do likewise. It's crazy. It's the same way we push kids to study certain courses we feel are lucrative. All so it makes us feel good about ourselves. No, that's wrong. Kids are humans. Our responsibility to them should be to guard them on the choice they make and not shove whatever we aspire to down their throats.
1200  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How is sending bitcoin through a QR-code safe ? on: July 16, 2023, 12:24:21 PM
First of all, the QR code itself can be replaced without hacking. For example, if it's a sticker, someone can put their own sticker on top of the original one. If it's a photo posted on social media, someone can edit it in Photoshop to put their address. You get the idea.

But on software level, this task is not as trivial as replacing a clipboard, but still could be achieved, at least theoretically. The QR-code scanner app could be exploited to replace Bitcoin adresses with hacker's address, if it has such a sophisticated vulnerability.
You see? In summary, it then simply means that the security of our funds lies only with us and not on some gadgets. These gadgets, to start with, are the creation of man. Man can manipulate them. It takes a man to break any system or manipulate any computer or software.

I haven't received Bitcoin or any crypto through a QR before. I consider it a more complicated process than copying and pasting addresses. When it comes to financial issues, whether with Bitcoin or fiat, I think those involved should exercise caution and patience. Go through the details slowly. That's what I do. I'm never going to be in a haste. What for? Except it's an old address that I've saved up on my wallet, I take my time to run through new addresses meticulously.
