1341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: High rewards still possible I'm bounties? on: March 23, 2020, 11:58:23 AM
Is high rewards like 350,000$ for bounty hunters still possible this days? I know it's all down to the success of the project but is this still achievable? How many successful projects with such reward paid hunters since 2018 that you know?
Even there's a high reward for the bounty campaign still you're not sure that you will really end up on earning a huge amount of profit. I already try to join a bounty campaign and as far I remember the reward for the campaign is 250,000$ but after the campaign, I just earn nothing but at that time I'm just a member. Somehow it still achievable but on this current state of market and status of the bounty project (some of them are failed and scam), I guess there will be a hard time in achieving their goal. I don't have any idea how many projects that get successful in the year 2018 but I'm sure even they get paid from those projects still not enough to repay their effort and time on doing those tasks.
1342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble right after coronavirus outbreaks? on: March 23, 2020, 08:36:42 AM
As long as there is a signal coming from the government that the world is a safer place to live again, I would not hesitate going into casino, and I mean everyone who are having fun going in a physical casino, their life should be back to normal, but then we can't expect that instantly all will be back to normal, of course there are still some fears left but eventually everything will be back to normal.

Even if there's no virus, can we still consider the world as a safe place? I don't think so. Even if this pandemic is officially over, it's still not safe. And yes, it might take quite a long time before everything will be back to normal. But what if after this virus, most physical casinos would give different offers to encourage gamblers to be back since they've been closed during the virus outbreak and they need income.

Well, Why not? Because I think one month is quite too long for us to not try to gamble physically, but for me, I personally consider gambling online, even if there is an outbreak or after the COVID. The reason is because, I find the satisfaction I could get when playing as the same for both physical gambling and online. But with the games such as poker, black jack and other card games, I will consider playing online, the reason is that, virus might still be intact to the cards or other physical equipment that are shared by other players.

It should be casino owners' responsibility to disinfect and make sure that the place is clean and safe for their customers. After a long month of closure, they should be doing their part by cleaning and disinfecting their machines, cards, and all that needs to be used when gambling.

1344  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Italian Red Cross is now seeking Bitcoin donations on: March 23, 2020, 02:06:42 AM
Sorry. I didn't know that there's already a topic like this. I tried checking it before posting but I didn't notice. I'll just lock this thread. Btw, @Jating thanks for telling me as well as everyone's opinion about this news.
1345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The Italian Red Cross is now seeking Bitcoin donations on: March 22, 2020, 05:28:38 PM
Italy has been facing a big crisis after coronavirus spread rapidly and infecting thousands of people in Italy that also causes thousand of death in the country. As various news states that Italy had surpassed China with the number of deaths caused by the pandemic. Now, the country is facing lockdown to prevent the virus from spreading even more.

Italy is also struggling with treating patients because of the lack of manpower and equipment. I've read in an article that Italian doctors have to choose whom to treat first because they cannot treat every patient at the same time. Aside from manpower, they are also lacking in medical equipment. The Italian Red Cross is seeking donations and even accepting bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for medical equipment.

Italian Red Cross launched its fundraising campaign last March 12. Donations flooded them and within three days it surpassed their target of $10,710. They used the donation to purchase materials needed to deploy the pre-triage facility. Even if it already surpassed its target, Italy's Red Cross continue its fundraising and set another goal of almost $26,000.

The crypto community also showed their initiative to support them in fighting the virus. They had pledged their contributions to the Italian Red Cross. With the donation, they will use it to purchase the core infrastructure and medical equipment. If the value of bitcoin increases, they will use the surplus to buy additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for their medical staff.

We keep seeing good news and how people are helping each other in fighting the virus. There will always be good people who are willing to help but we still have to be careful in times like this because not everyone is willing to help. We still need to be cautious about scammers online because scammers won't disappear. If you're aware, there are scammers who are impersonating WHO to steal donation funds. I have created a thread about this issue, see the link if you want to know about it.

If you want more information about the donation, you can check this link

1346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anything could be gambling on: March 22, 2020, 01:11:47 PM
Yes, anything could be gambling. By simply playing games (cards, board, online games and such), you can gamble with it.  But I don't think I can consider that as gambling. Basically, playing PlayStation can be considered gambling when there's something in exchange.

For me, gambling is when you take the risk of anything valuable in exchange for getting something valuable as well. But since in your case, there's no valuable thing and you won't be getting anything. The loser will just take the shot but the winner won't be getting anything. I think it's just a game with a dare of taking a shot but can't be considered gambling. It will be called gambling if players made a bet and the winner will receive a prize.

And yes, I have tried similar things a lot. I like playing mobile legends and when there's an opportunity, I and my friends will look for an opponent and we make bets. Of course, the winner will take the money. I have also experienced it with simple card games with my family or my friends then there's a small amount of bet since we're just playing for fun.
1347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hodl altcoins or..? on: March 22, 2020, 12:12:04 PM
Which altcoins are you hodling?

I didn't sell any altcoins that I'm holding lately (i probably should), however, is it a smart idea to buy them now or wait a bit more?

What are you holding? and what will you do?
I'm currently holding different altcoins in my wallet and what will I do on it, probably I'm gonna hold it until bull run comes. Even we experience a big dump on the previous days still selling is not a good idea and don't ever do panic selling if you really intend to earn up a huge amount of profit. If you are alert on the past few days maybe you hit the good entry point which some of the altcoins are down and that time bitcoin is around 4,000$ but right now it's current is 6,200$ something. Buying in the time where the market is down is always a smart idea because you fill up your bags/portfolio with good coins and at the same time you bought it at a good price.

Wasting the opportunity is one of the reasons why people get regret on a certain thing like they still keep on waiting at a much lower price and if you see the great opportunity take it and don't get back. There's always an unexpected situation in the crypto market that's why we should buy now and keep on holding good coins.
1348  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Pag usbong at pag babalik ng cryptocurrency. on: March 22, 2020, 10:20:05 AM

1349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble right after coronavirus outbreaks? on: March 22, 2020, 08:42:42 AM
When you mean after the outbreak it should be specific there are many stages of after the outbreak and until the outbreak is fully contained and every corner is disinfected, then that will be the right time to play again, but if you are a responsible gambler you should take a two-week waiting period before going in again to play.

What I mean about after the outbreak is when the government or authorities announced that everything can go back to normal like going outside whenever you want and when casinos finally reopened. But just like what everyone said, I guess it's safer to wait for a little bit until going to casinos.

Even though there will be an announcement about the world being free from the coronavirus epidemic, I personally will still stay at home for the next few days, because this pandemic is very worrying and makes higher vigilance very necessary. Everyone now just wants everything to return to normal and I don't think it's the time for us to want to return to the casino immediately because after all, casino gambling can still be done through online gambling, in contrast to sports betting at least this incident makes those who prefer sports betting forced to stop.

You're right. Everyone wanted to be back to normal so we can say that after an announcement from authorized people, we can expect that a lot of people will gather and go to places like this because they weren't able to do that for days. I think most people who will immediately go to casinos are those rich businessmen who love gambling because they don't have to worry about spending money at all.

I don't care much for the virus and it doesn't worry me at all. None of the people I know are sick. Also there's summertime comming. I've never heard of anyone who got sick with a flu in summer. We all know that those viruses can't survive the heat.

So to answer the question, once the quarantine tiome is over and casinos and other places of entertainment like cinemas open I'll go back to my normal life and will not avoid them.

I don't know if that's 100% true. I have seen a lot of posts or tweets from doctors saying that it doesn't really mean that viruses can't survive in the heat. I think that's just a myth. It can be true but not that true since my country is a tropical country and right now it's super hot yet the number of cases is still increasing.

Scammers Impersonate WHO To Steal BTC Donation

Description: Scammer that impersonate WHO

1351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Will you gamble right after coronavirus outbreaks? on: March 21, 2020, 04:56:09 PM
Since almost all casinos and other gambling places are closed due to coronavirus threats, we cannot go to those places and we cannot gamble. The only thing we can do right now is to gamble online.

I know some of the gamblers here are already bored getting stuck inside our houses. Some people here prefer going to casinos than playing online. Even sports are postponed so we cannot do sports betting. So I have a question for everyone, especially those who often go to casinos.

After lockdown or quarantine or after this virus ends, will you go to casino places immediately or will you wait for some days before going?

I know every one of us here really wants to go outside, enjoy, and do what we want after getting locked in our houses. So would you go immediately or not since casinos are still a crowded place? We can't be really sure that it's already safe unless they will announce that the world is COVID-19 free or if they have already found a cure.

PS: I don't know if someone has already asked this kind of question and I'm not quite sure if this topic has been discussed here but I just want to know your opinions and plan after this outbreak.
1352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which cryptocurrency do you use for gambling frequently? on: March 21, 2020, 01:33:00 PM
I usually use Bitcoin in every gambling site. I always experience traffic when it comes to the transaction like when I play in Cloudbet which takes hours before it gets credit to my account. Even though there's another option for depositing, I still use bitcoin because I was already used to it that every time I will play, I will use bitcoin even without looking at its value in the market. And also I have a fixed amount of bitcoin I use when gambling so I won't exceed with my limit.

1354  Economy / Scam Accusations / Scammers Impersonate WHO To Steal BTC Donation on: March 21, 2020, 09:15:12 AM
Another day, another news to share. As almost all of us are experiencing lockdown and cannot go outside our houses due to the threat of COVID-19. Everyone is worried about our current situation and when will this pandemic stop but the good thing about this is we can still see the humanity in us. People are coming out of being a good Samaritan and helping other people in need. There are various donations where you can help even without going outside of your house. But there are also people who are taking advantage of others just for their own benefits. Online scammers can't be stopped by this pandemic and they're even using this issue to steal other people's money.

According to Sophos, a cybersecurity firm, scammers are impersonating World Health Organization to steal cryptocurrency donations allocated for COVID-19.

World Health Organization (WHO) established a donation fund in partnership with the United Nations Foundation to help them fight the virus. COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund was launched with the support of Facebook and Google, asking people to help to support the fund. The cybersecurity expert Chester Wisniewski said that the scammers are misleading people to send their bitcoin to them as a donation supposedly for the COVID-19 fund.

Quote
"The fake donation request reported by Wisniewski doesn’t refer to the website at all, however. According to the screenshot, the impersonators ask the potential donors to donate by sending Bitcoin directly to an address given in the email. The impersonators are also using a forged address, donate@who.int, in order to defraud people, according to data from the security researcher. As of press time, both listed Bitcoin addresses in the fake emails are empty, according to data from Blockchain.com’s explorer."

You can find more information about the donation fund on their official website but there's clear information whether they accept cryptocurrency or not. WHO has already warned people to be careful and beware of scammers circulating on the internet. I've checked their official site and they are providing information on how to avoid scammers and to prevent phishing.

Code:
https://www.who.int/about/communications/cyber-security

We should always be careful with our money. And be aware of the possible scams we can encounter on the internet. Even if we only aim to help, we can still get scammed so in order to avoid it, be cautious and make sure that you are donating on legit donations. There's a lot of donations available right now that's being offered by different organizations so make sure your money will go on the right hand.

Since almost everyone is just staying at home, their pastime is to spend their time on the internet and that's where scammers can find more opportunities to scam more people. Before sending money, you need to make a research first about the organization's donations to ensure that the money is safe. Do not give your personal and private information and don't click suspicious link being sent to you.

We are fighting the virus yet it doesn't mean you can already trust everyone, especially on the internet. Though I'm still in awe that people would still really be scamming others in a crisis like this. Stay safe from the virus and also from scammers!

1355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Play gambling that require skills and techniques. on: March 20, 2020, 04:12:58 PM
In gambling, you also need to analyze first before making decisions but we can't deny that most gambling games rely on luck. For example, in lottery first, you have to analyze and think what number combinations you will bet and then after that everything will depend on your luck.

I don't really believe in other's strategies and techniques when gambling because not all techniques will work on everyone and every game. We can create our own techniques but it doesn't necessarily mean that it's applicable for every game. Basically, techniques are for the short term only. It can work in the first game but not in the second game. So rather than a strategy you can use repeatedly, it's just like an analysis of what you should do during the game. And then the rest will depend on our luck.
1356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Horseracing & Greyhounds covid19 shutdown on: March 20, 2020, 02:18:18 PM
We can't really blame someone or an entity to be the cause of the shutdown of most of the platform where we are betting on, right now, the priority is the safety of everyone including the players and gamblers, imagine, if many people die, that could probably affect the market too much so it is better for us to stay at home and wait because everything will be alright soon.

Well, there's nothing to worry about gambling these days. We could just try to play online and pay using cryptocurrency, I am pretty sure, we can still get the satisfaction we want when we try it.

Lastly, the risk of playing/gambling online is significantly lower because we don't have any contact, just our computer.
The virus can be easily transmitted in crowd places, it is possible to be infected when you have close contact with another person. They are just being concerned on the health of the players, shutdown is the best option because covid19 is life-threatening. They will probably resume all sports game event when we totally conquered the virus. As you pointed out, playing online is the best way to entertain yourselves on a time like this because it is much convenient and you're safe from any harm.

1359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some casino gambling tips. on: March 20, 2020, 07:57:51 AM
I agree with your tips but I guess we just have different preferences because I prefer to play on an online casino that the physical one. You can still make sure that you're playing on a legitimate casino even online. You just have to be extra careful. With your tips, it's still applicable to online gambling. And for me, I can control and limit myself better when I'm playing online than going to the casino.

I won't argue with you because that's your choice but personally I would go with the online casino. I don't really care about the ambiance because for me it's more comfortable to play inside your house. You can be who you are inside your house. You don't have to interact with other people you don't know. You can just play and stop whenever you want. As for the games, there are also varieties of games available online and you can choose the game you want to play.
1360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Theft on: March 19, 2020, 03:53:36 PM
Time and time again, people are always getting their money swindled in the Internet but we don't learn for a long time this scam has been a problem. If people had been using their common sense then there will be no one who will be fooling you, this must be a mantra in the cyberspace, don't give away your information on the Internet.

We can't really blame them. The victim had a question or concern about withdrawal. So it means he or she lacks knowledge about it. So the thing he/she did was understandable. He asks the official page but it's the impersonator who replied and responded to the victim. Perhaps they messaged the victim so the real twitter account of the exchange wouldn't be able to know that someone is impersonating them as a customer service. Since the two suspects saw that as an opportunity because they knew that, that person doesn't have enough knowledge and that they can fool the victim. Although the victim also has a mistake because he easily trusted them and gave personal information which is a big no-no here on the internet.
