721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PlusToken Ponzi Goes To Jail on: July 31, 2020, 04:15:38 PM
Good to hear that a lot of suspects involved in this Ponzi scheme were already caught. I think it will not take a long time before those other main suspects to get arrested as well. Imagine a single Ponzi scheme can defraud almost $3Billion, what more for other schemes still out there.

I have already seen a lot of similar news about scammers, so I think aside from arresting those suspects, the authorities should strengthen their awareness to the public about this kind of scheme to avoid more people getting victimized by these people.
722  Economy / Economics / Re: US economy suffers worst decline as GDP contracts by 32.9% in the second quarter on: July 31, 2020, 02:38:19 PM
If the number of cases in the US will continue to increase within the next months, I doubt that their economy will be able to recover within this year. However, the US can easily recover once this pandemic is done, but since the country is not showing any good sign in fighting the virus, it's like they will highly depend on the vaccine for the fast recovery of their economy.

But aside from the economic decline, I'm worried about the population if this virus will continue to spread. I mean, it's not a big percentage compare to the whole population, but the fact that already 100k+ of people died because of this in the US alone is a threat if it will last longer.

724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto and fashion on: July 31, 2020, 08:57:00 AM
I think he's just really trying to connect crypto and blockchain to the fashion industry. It's kinda good at some point because they are trying to widen the adoption of blockchain and crypto in other industry.  But as I read the article, I feel like it will just be more complicated and there is no assurance that the crypto community or the public will show enough attention to this. Since they are just starting the industry, it will take a long time to know if they will do good or not. Also for a beginning brand, their shoes are quite pricey. But let's see what will happen.
725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "Poker Tournaments" are reopening little by little. on: July 31, 2020, 06:53:02 AM
Actually, there is a lot of eagerness in this game especially since we haven't played for a long time, we cannot deny that our hands are really itching for the poker tournaments. I guess many gamblers are already losing investment due to the unexpected coronavirus impact of our country, as long as possible I believe that they are willing also to recover their position.

Its also a good time for gambling sites that want to reopen online tournament in related to poker games. since many people stay at home and have time to play now if they can manage to have a big tournament that give high rewards to attract more players  to join that's better.

It can also help to people that have experience stress with this crisis at least they have a way to enjoy their self while staying at home for security of their health.
Players have been probably missing poker tournaments since it has to stop due to the pandemic. Aside from that, operators and investors also need to resume because they also need income. Everyone wants to recover faster because if it will last, it will become harder for us.

Players can also enjoy tournaments while staying inside their houses. Even me, I'm already getting bored that's why I also gamble sometimes. But gambling to relieve stress is only for those who don't worry about the possible loss of funds. Because when you lose amidst the pandemic, it can cause more stress financially.
726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do not fall for all DeFi HYPES on: July 30, 2020, 06:29:17 PM
Scammers will always be there to take advantage of anything they can especially if it's getting the attention or hype if the people. But now that DeFi is recently getting the hype, we should be careful about trusting projects. You are also right that the hype for DeFi is not bad, you just need to make further research, not just following it without any background about a certain project. Even if there are real and good projects, there will always be a fake one that we cannot escape. If you're really looking for a good DeFi or any project, research is always necessary to avoid getting scammed by the fake ones.
727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how to win at casino on: July 30, 2020, 05:21:35 PM
hi guys how does one win when playing in casino? is there a strategy that u use in order to win, or do u just randomly make decisions when you play. also how do u determine when to cash out or deposit more money

Your question sounds like: "I want to make money, teach me how to do it."
There is a lot of information about gambling on the Internet - study it yourself and then ask questions about what you do not understand.
There's a lot of information on the internet but it does not guarantee OP or every one of us that we can win in gambling after researching because luck will still be one of the factors. OP can find different strategies about gambling but it does not always work or something. What can probably help him when searching the internet, is how to be a responsible gamble to avoid addiction.

I guess OP is just asking for tips since he also mentioned he's using a strategy. And also asking for other games where he can make a profit.
728  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [MEGATHREAD] Pilipinas Coronavirus/COVID-19 Thread on: July 30, 2020, 03:35:57 PM
Few hours ago, naglabas  ang DOH ng latest information tungkol sa COVID cases sa bansa. Almost 4,000 ang reported new cases ngayong araw, at mas lalo itong nakakabahala. Ngunit mas kapansin pansin yung 38,000+ na new recoveries.

729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kobe Bryant's death has been used for scamming. on: July 30, 2020, 01:44:16 PM
Just do not understand what do people get by doing all this things, it’s the money they want it , so isn't doing the ethical hacking could help them and they will also get fame by doing good things and helping sites/apps etc by doing ethical hacking instead of this types of things. Now scam is increasing and very easily you can read anything related to such types of things happening around the world.

They can still earn income by using their knowledge and skills in a good and ethical manner. However, some people really want to earn big money so easily and I think that's the reason why hackers and scammers still choose to do it.

Scamming and hacking is indeed increasing because more people are getting into technology and the internet, and that's an opportunity for them. Especially now that we've seen a lot of similar cases recently, and for sure it will increase more.

Winning also varies if the game is based on luck or skills and if you have those.  Personally, I don't use any specific strategy when gambling, I just follow my intuition and go with the flow and do random strategies I could think when already playing. The same strategies don't always work all the time and for everyone, so it's hard to depend on fixed strategies.

If you are already contended playing or with your winnings, you can cash out. Cashing out depends on my mood and the situation as well.

731  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Become Universal Money? on: July 29, 2020, 02:51:58 PM
It's not impossible but I think it's still vague as of now since a lot of countries are still not open to cryptocurrency and decentralization. Other countries will accept or already accepted it, but I doubt that all governments will agree with cryptocurrency.

If all countries would use crypto as an alternative currency, it will need a lot of time because it needs the government and the public's acceptance and understanding of what is a cryptocurrency and its essence. It's possible, but we never know when or if it will actually happen, but crypto is slowly moving towards mass adoption.
732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should there be any age limit of Gambling? on: July 29, 2020, 09:47:53 AM
For me, maturity is not based on age. Even 18 or 21 years old above still can't handle emotions and their greed properly when it comes to gambling. However, if we are going to talk about the legal age, it usually starts at 18 years old and above. But in my country, you should be 21 to enter land-based casinos. It's really necessary to put an age limitation for this kind of entertainment because it may lead to bigger problems for the minors. But in other means of gambling such as online, usually, 18 is already allowed. But thinking about it, I feel like 18 is still a young age to get really into gambling since, in my country, this age range is still dependent on their parents.

733  Economy / Economics / Re: Richard D Wolff: Democratize the Corporations on: July 28, 2020, 05:58:36 PM
Looking at the bigger picture, it's hard for me to imagine this concept in the corporate world simply because not all employees or workers will think of the benefit of the company as a whole. Usually, employees at the lower-level management would only think of themselves and their own benefits (if they are getting the right salaries and such) since it's not their job to focus on the company's status.

- One worker, one vote
The decision about what to produce, when to produce, etc., is a collective decision instead of the top management decision. This means skilled workers have the same vote as the janitors.
It's a nice idea to give every worker the same opportunity or right to vote for something. But since it's a business where they are competing in hundreds of other businesses in the industry, I think it's more appropriate to give that right to "vote" for those who have knowledge in that field or area.

- Workers-owners
The workers are also the owners of the company; therefore, they get to choose what to do with the profits.
It takes a lot of decision making what to do with the profits and how they will manage the flow of cash in business so just like what I said, it needs knowledge about a certain field. If all workers get a chance to choose what to do with the profit, I don't think companies will have a concrete plan on running the whole business.

- Not profit maximization
Worry about machines replace your job because it will lower costs? It's not a problem with this democratic corporation since the goal is to keep the workers happy.
With technological innovation, businesses really need that in order to operate smoothly. But it does not mean that it will replace employees because most jobs still require manpower and direct labor.

it's not that I'm completely disagreeing with this concept, I just can't picture it out yet. But I really got curious about that one video, I just find it too long to watch it right now. I will try watching it at another time and maybe it can change my perspective.
734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESPN Global to launch The Future of E-sports: Online Gaming + Blockchain on: July 28, 2020, 03:41:45 PM
I really find it great that the gaming industry is now showing attention to blockchain and also starting to adopt it in the industry, as well as cryptocurrency. Online gaming is becoming more popular in the current generation and with this opportunity, I think it will give blockchain and crypto a little bit of spotlight for mass adoption.

However, I don't really expect that this will receive so much hype in e-sports (just because I feel like I have seen similar news but it did not receive much attention compared to the expectations). But regardless of that, it's still nice that they are open to innovation and this kind of adoption in the gaming industry.
735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So many scam giveaways is it because Bitcoin is moving up on: July 28, 2020, 02:00:14 PM
I don't think it's planned or something since even before the halving, there's already a lot of fake or scam giveaways happening in big social media platforms. It's just that, there was a recent hacking incident with big accounts on twitter. Now we are seeing more victims falling with this scamming because almost everyone is on their social media accounts that's why scammers and hackers are using this as an opportunity. As for the victims, I think the current pandemic also contributes because people need more income that's why they are being greedy and easily believing in giveaways.
736  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Stay away from this kind of giveaway!! Scam alert!! on: July 28, 2020, 12:29:37 PM
Both links given by OP were already removed by YouTube.

Fake giveaways and scammers are really rampant especially in popular and big social media because they can attract more possible victims to lure. We have recently heard about Twitter hacking, now on YouTube, I bet there are giveaways like this also on Facebook. Not everyone is knowledgable about this kind of scamming tricks, that's why like what I said before, it's better for these popular social media platforms to take action and always warn their users about scammers. And we can also do our part by reporting them to prevent them from fooling more people.
737  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Late Show with Stephen Colbert calls bitcoin a scam on: July 28, 2020, 09:55:18 AM
This statement really bring a huge impact towards bitcoin's reputation to those ignorant people.

Once they don't try to hold bitcoin, then they will just still see bitcoin as a scam.

As long as they are not making transactions where they can earn money with their own manipulation, they will not know the true essence and value of bitcoin in our society. That's also the reason why governments are scared to engage with the use of cryptocurrency in their country, because they are afraid that scamming can really affect their community. If we don't make some changes towards this mindset then bitcoin will really have a bad image in their point of views.

I don't think what he said is such a big deal since it was just a short statement about the Twitter hacking issue. Although based on what he said, we can say that he perhaps lacks knowledge about bitcoin since it was short yet misleading.

We know that bitcoin is usually involved in a lot of scamming or illegal activities. It's really difficult to change the mindset of the majority about bitcoin when all they hear and see on the news are those negative things.
738  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers are back with another trick. Be alert!!! on: July 27, 2020, 03:40:02 PM
I tried checking the link but it says that the video was already removed since it violates the community guidelines of Youtube. I also can't find the fake channel, I guess it already got removed by YouTube. If that's the case, I think youtube is now stepping up and taking actions with this kind of scamming tricks due to some related issues.

Imagine the number of people who watched that live stream, they could have scammed a lot of people. But it's good that YT already took it down. It just shows how many people can get fooled by scammers making fake accounts and fake giveaways in popular platforms.

739  Local / Pilipinas / Re: More online stores, less tax generated on: July 27, 2020, 10:49:39 AM
740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NEWEST Bitcoin rap - Just released "Buy Bitcoin" - (NFA) on: July 27, 2020, 09:09:41 AM
It's a nice song but since it's a rap song, I actually prefer it when it's faster.  Ain't a big fan of rap songs but what I usually hear with rap songs is that they have a faster flow that is why when I listened to it, I feel like it's kinda slow so I tried playing it at 1.25x speed and I liked it better. I don't know if it's just me, but I think you guys should also try playing it at that speed.

But overall, it's a nice song and I like the lyrics as well. Never expect it would be this good.
