381  Economy / Economics / Re: Are online communities dead ? I can't find online communities to advertise ... on: October 20, 2020, 03:23:14 PM
But I think, more people are now spending their time online because most of us are staying at our homes so it becomes one of the major ways to communicate with others. Sellers are shifting online because of the pandemic so the online communities are not dead in fact, I find them more active nowadays.

And you can find platforms to advertise your service depending on your target customers or clients. If you are looking for crypto-related, then this forum is already a good place to offer your service. You can also use popular social media if you want more general clients because a lot of people are now on their social media.
382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling thoughts. on: October 20, 2020, 02:08:45 PM
Do you ever asked yourselves these things?
1. Which one do you prefer, Casino gambling or online gambling?
2. How much money are you willing to spend on gambling?
3. How do you manage your lose streak or win streak?
4. If you will have $1000, what game in the casino you are going to play?
5. What is the best advice that you can give to a gambler?
1. As someone who doesn't socialize with other people, I like online gambling because I can enjoy gambling alone that doesn't require going to other places just to gamble.
2. It depends on my extra money but I don't go overboard with my funds because it's already allocated for other purposes. So I just use my extra money, and if I have more extra, it means I can use more money in gambling.
3. When losing, it's about acceptance and taking a break for a while because I might get swayed by my emotion.
4. I'll spend only a small part of it on gambling. And perhaps I'll play poker.
5. Acceptance and self-discipline is important as a gambler to avoid getting addicted and to prevent losses that you can't afford to lose.
383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My portfolio on: October 20, 2020, 12:34:11 PM
I guess that's good, because you put mostly in bitcoin and the rest in some altcoins.
maybe someone else will suggest you buy eth for the rest, but i'm sure you have your own reasons why buy the coin, whatever it is hope your portfolio increases.
It seems the OP knows how to have a good portfolio because most of his/her funds are in bitcoin. Just like OP, I also have more funds in Bitcoin and the rest are in the different cryptocurrencies. But right now, I'm focusing on adding Defi projects in my portfolio but only the legit Defi projects. That's true, we have different reasons why we buy a certain coin and in fact, we tend to buy that certain coin because we know it will become more worthy in the future than the other coins. Before we add a new coin to our portfolio make sure we do prior research about it and if we're going to add any Defi project make sure it's a legit project because today, there are plenty of scam Defi projects. OP, do you have any plan to add Defi token in your portfolio?
I'm sure, as time goes on the OP will also include defi tokens because the growing popularity of existing defi projects is like an attraction for us to have them, if anyone can do it with good control I think that will be fine. So, basically I think holding any coins or tokens in the market will still be fine if done with research and high confidence, because if it's only done with the existing trend I'm not sure it will work.
Defi is indeed getting so much attention and if the OP ends up joining the hype and investing in some Defi projects, it's best to conduct enough research first about the project. I can find potentials in some Defi projects but of course, not all Defi is legit as we have seen several failed and scam projects, so it's just a matter of carefully choosing Defi projects to include in our portfolio.

385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We don't do it in Bitcoin! on: October 19, 2020, 05:00:13 PM
Who tf would do that thinking no one will notice that when walking with that heavy and big gold on your ass would already look so weird? However, is it just to avoid tax, since I don't think that's enough reason to do such ridiculous things?

But yeah, with bitcoin, you don't have to carry something physically and you don't have to do weird things like what that man did. Still, this news is ridiculous and disgusting because what's the point of trying so hard to smuggle it to avoid taxes when it's obvious that he'll end up getting caught.
386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your Portfolio before and after the pandemic on: October 19, 2020, 04:21:54 PM
I can't say that it's purely good or bad because it still depends on the situation. However, the good thing about it is during this pandemic, I was able to find more opportunities and added some coins in my portfolio where I can invest my funds. On the other side, since we're in the middle of the pandemic, I also have to use some funds I invested for personal necessities and expenses, also, given that there are coins who get a dump. So it's like, there's gain but not that huge to say that it's in a better status.

389  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Cryptocurrency Exchange KuCoin Hacked on: October 19, 2020, 09:45:52 AM

390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin used for illegal activities on telegram on: October 18, 2020, 02:54:54 PM
You said it already that it's inevitable, not only for fiat but for things that have value. These people will use any medium or platform they can just to continue doing illegal activities and will continue to find ways that make it convenient for them, and not to easily get caught by the authorities. It's not bitcoin's fault when criminals use it for transactions because it was not made for that purpose, it's just that greedy people will always abuse something for their benefits, and that's one of the examples.

Also, I just want to mention that news headlines with bitcoin always beside illegal activities can give a misconception to people (especially for those who don't have much idea about it) that bitcoin is something bad although it's not actually like that.
391  Economy / Economics / Re: Government slowly open the economy, will it make the pandemic worst? on: October 18, 2020, 02:10:12 PM
We can't avoid holding on to things in public places when we go outside or even holding cash and that's already a risk, but I think this part is already for us to be cautious and to remember to always disinfect or wash our hands. We can't stop everyone from working just because there is a pandemic, it's not only for the economy but for each individual.

Governments slowly opening the economy are already a risk because it's something that we didn't expect, but with proper guidance or handling of the government, I think it can help to lessen the number of cases because other countries were able to do it. It's just sad that our country isn't that competent with this issue that opening the economy gives us more worry about our health.
392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why hesitate ???? on: October 18, 2020, 12:45:50 PM
Some investors believed that if they hold longer, the price will continue on increasing. However, it does not always end up the way they wanted, as some factors affect the price of a token and because long term investment is not applicable to every token. Some investor is afraid to regret selling because they have confidence in the token that they are holding as it demonstrates a great potential to perform well on the following months or years.

393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would you promote bitcoin if you were Jack Dorsey (twitter's big boss)? on: October 17, 2020, 01:52:29 PM
As already mentioned by others that bitcoin is in his bio, I think that's already good enough. And that, we have seen/heard news how he opens up about being into bitcoin so I think he's already promoting it in a good way. He does not need to use his platform to promote bitcoin so much, like putting ads where every user can see it because he's already promoting it enough with his account. It can also be dangerous because not all Twitter users know about bitcoin and scammers can take the opportunity of it.
394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scam Token on: October 17, 2020, 01:10:53 PM
Unfortunately, there are tons of them and not only in Uniswap but also in other exchanges. Some of them may look visually appealing, but as you explore information about it, then you will see the difference between a real and fake token. In terms of describing it, their website looks crappy, and there's no contact information, they also steal pictures from other people to present on their website as part of the team. Typically, after they scam and embezzle money from people, they delete their website and deactivate their account from different platforms, so no one will be able to contact them.

You can check some of them here:

395  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Protesters in Nigeria used Bitcoin as alternative of banks as CBN blocked accts. on: October 16, 2020, 11:46:47 PM
I was about to make a thread about this. Came across the #freeFlutterwave on twitter trend list and decided to check it out.

For those who don't know, Here's a breakdown of what happened:

- Nigerian youths have been protesting for over a week over policing brutality currently happening across the country with several people getting killed on daily basis just because they're been tagged as criminals by law enforcement officers. The funny thing is every Nigerian youth that is living above the average standard of living is tagged as a criminal - web developers, crypto and forex traders, designers, small - medium scale business owners, entrepreneurs etc.

- Since the situation worsened with each passing day, Nigerians have embarked on peaceful protests across the country and was using a payment platform called Flutterwave (Even binance use this platform for crypto payments on their exchange) for funding the protests with food, medical supplies  and also for bailing our protesters that were arrested during the protests.

So.... what happened?

The central bank of Nigeria flagged the the platform saying it was used to fund "criminal" activities. So Nigerians turned to using Bitcoin as the payment solution abandoning all other traditional payment solutions.

This might not seem much for the global crypto community, but it's a huge win for the Nigerian crypto community on and off this forum. The citizens of Nigeria are beginning to realize that the crypto is the future and would help drive its adoption.

I haven't heard of this news, and thanks for giving the information. It's a good move for the protesters to still find ways even if the authorities are trying to stop them from protesting, and that bitcoin can be a help to them.

I've already heard a lot of police brutality, even in my country it's visible. This happens because central authorities get so much power that sometimes they abuse it. So I just hope they will win with their protest and their system would improve.
396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Strictly for those who have ears on: October 16, 2020, 04:10:19 PM
They just want to be in trend most of the tokens you listed doesn't have any announcement thread here, for a reason that they don't want to be asked by old members and it can easily identified that they are scam if they make one.

Just ignore that kind of project ,if you can review a project by  your self and found thier mistake like you find they are using other people photo or copying other project roadmap you can open scam accusation so that project can be flagged as scam so that they can't find other victims here.
With the easy listing of a project in an exchange, it is no longer surprising to see some of it turns out as a scam. There's no doubt that people will question the credibility of their project, seeing they hide important details about the team and the project. So instead of promoting the project here in the forum, they decided to list it on a exchange so they can still catch people's attention. Therefore, always keep in mind that those lists and the reputation of the exchange are not enough basis to trust a project because anyone is capable of doing it.
397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New Normal Game Setup - a success or a failure? on: October 16, 2020, 03:21:05 PM
It's really very hard to say if it's success of failure. Even if the official revenues look small, it's really really big under the table. Let's say the IPL which is being hosted in Dubai this year. Although there are no stadium audience this year, am sure the players are still paid handsomely, as well as the game has huge betting 24*7 so yeah, there's lots of revenue. I guess financially it's a success but at the same time, indeed the players are putting their lives at risk under this pandemic!
It means that it's a success since you've mentioned that they are still earning which is a good sign even with the changes and new set-up. Also, it's not like they are the only ones risking their lives just to earn income since every one of us is doing that. No one is exempted from getting the virus so it's a risk to our health but we can't just stop doing something or even sports events because there is a virus spreading since some people are making a living with it.

399  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginner's Guide: Don't fall for DeFi-Airdrop-Scams on: October 16, 2020, 12:59:38 PM
Is that how the developer defines the word "airdrop"? Because from what I understand, an airdrop is supposed to be advantageous as they will send free tokens to promote their project. If you are going to search the word "cryptocurrency airdrop", you won't find the word "donation" on its definition because it does not work that way. By the time I read that word, I can't believe how people are convinced to trust their funds to a stranger that is treating them badly. They don't have any idea that they are being fooled around and it is sad. I hope they learn from that experience.
400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you read the TOS of a gambling site? Honest answer please. on: October 16, 2020, 12:09:16 PM
Honestly, I don't usually read TOS because I'm just too lazy to read it most of the time. But the thing is, I only gamble on trusted sites with a good reputation, or what my friends recommend me so I just conclude that there would be no bigger problems and such. I also barely look for other casinos that I am not familiar with because I just stick to what I know and the one I have experienced playing. But if there is a new casino that catches my attention, of course, I consider reading their TOS.
