1081  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [MEGATHREAD] Pilipinas Coronavirus/COVID-19 Thread on: May 11, 2020, 10:09:17 AM

1082  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: here comes the alts days? on: May 11, 2020, 08:31:46 AM
halving expectation is there, and btc price may keep in a rational range for a time before it explodes.
so maybe it is good time to buy alts to get more btc now?
So far, it's somehow good to buy altcoins but only consider buying the top-altcoins in the market. And for now, it's better to buy bitcoin. I have seen the rapid increase of bitcoin in the past few days and it somehow attracts attention because we expected that after this halving we will see new bullish on the price. Probably right now, we should watch the movement of the market because we don't know what will happen after the halving of bitcoin and we don't know if there will be a sudden drop/crash, so once it happens we can instantly filled our bags.

But if you really intend to get more bitcoin, why not buy bitcoin in the first place? And it's a better option to buy more investment in bitcoin than other altcoins. And lastly, what I think OP wants to tell is that when you buy altcoins at a lower price and sold it at a higher price, you will earn a huge profit especially when it is paired with bitcoin wherein you will bitcoin may increase.
1083  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to be invested in Crypto while staying away from gambling? on: May 11, 2020, 07:22:53 AM
It's because of our desire. Maybe it's because you have seen a lot of crypto holders that also gamble so it attracts you as well to try gambling. And it only takes time before you will realize that you are having fun gambling and you want to keep on gambling. Perhaps that's the reason why you can't avoid gambling now. It's because you were used to it already.

I also think our mindset really affects us. If we keep on thinking that we can't stop gambling, then it will only make it harder for us to limit ourselves. We really need to control ourselves, especially in gambling. I also gamble online, and that's where I only gamble. I don't go to physical casinos but I can still control myself maybe because I always think of my priority why I am investing here in crypto. You can find other things to do to prevent yourself from gambling too much, or just seek advice on expert.

1085  Economy / Economics / Re: Layoffs Start Turning From Temporary to Permanent Across America on: May 10, 2020, 02:52:26 PM
It results in this scenario because the government did not take immediate action for this virus to prevent it from wide-spreading across the whole country. They thought it was just a simple virus, and now the situation worsens.

Probably companies are doing this to save their business. They can't operate so they have no revenue, and maybe that's the reason why they are doing it, to avoid giving too many benefits for their workers. Maybe they don't want to take some responsibility to pay their employees that is why they are reducing their workers. But I believe that after this pandemic, businesses will operate again and they will also need more workers. When businesses become stable and were able to earn a profit, I think they will hire some workers again. It may be a permanent layoff for some companies, but workers can still get a job at another company after this pandemic.

1088  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Meme-worthy slots winning reactions (with poll) on: May 10, 2020, 11:30:39 AM
Among all the videos on the list that you have provided, I find #4 that has the funniest reaction after winning. All of their reactions were priceless but it seems like the number 4 does not know what to do, or what to react at all. As if he wants to jump but can't jump and I don't know lol.

It's funny watching their reactions but I think it's a normal reaction. I'm seeing myself if I were in that situation, I would probably have the same reactions as them. Or maybe, even funnier than them. They just can't believe that they won. Others may find it funny watching their reaction, but if you were the one who won big time, you would not think of how funny your reaction is. And they are really lucky though.
1089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: when will the alts season come? on: May 10, 2020, 09:28:13 AM
We definintely don't know when will be the exact when the altcoin season will come. Many suggested that its not possible to make it happen again and I still believe that. If bitcoin will be so aggresive again that will be the time that altcoin will rise again. So we should be prepare for this instances, we should invest in some high possible altcoins nowadays since its cheaper right now. The fast ride toward the top again will be soon so better to prepare than nothing.

The altcoin season is like the bull run that we expect, we don't know when it will come. In fact, this topic has been discussed here many times already, and I think this altcoin season is possible to happen again. I've been holding some top altcoins for quite a long time, and if ever the prices of these coins I'm holding will increase, it will bring me good profit. Although some altcoins are cheaper,  we should still choose the best altcoins are we know are capable of riding on the altcoin season.

That's right, it's better to be prepared than having nothing, that's why it's better to fill our bags with some top altcoins in the market. But for now, let's wait and see if we can really see altcoin season, following the increase of bitcoin.

Btw, I also don't understand the context because the title is different from its content. It's kinda misleading, but someone here already explained here why OP talks about those two old exchanges.
1090  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Enhanced restriction in gambling casinos is it possible on: May 10, 2020, 08:28:34 AM
As far as I know, some casinos are planning to put some restrictions to re-open their business. They can't stop their business for too long, so they really need to sort things outs before opening again for the public.

I think some casinos are planning to limit their customers entering the facility, and they will put some protection or divider for their employees and customers. And I think it's better to only operate limited games, to avoid making too much crowd inside the casino and to keep everyone in distance. Temperature check before entering and wearing masks should also be applied for everyone's safety. I think that's the best they can do so far if they want to operate. But for me, it's best not to rush reopening the business especially if their place or country is heavily affected by the virus. In my country, gambling is still prohibited for almost two months already.

1093  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [Discussion] Buy Discounted Crypto using Shopee voucher? on: May 09, 2020, 03:24:29 PM
We know that cryptocurrency is very volatile, even how discounted it is. Why not they are directly buying Bitcoin on the said exchange.
Well that's how marketing works.

Kahit ako, may shopee account ako. Kahit hindi man sya pumatok dito sa shopee, at least they were able to promote cryptocurrency even in a small way na din. Also, I wanna know kung meron ba dito na bumili talaga ng Bitcoin sa shopee, at yung experience nila regarding it. Sana may magshare kung sakali.
1094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Some Alts for long run investment. on: May 09, 2020, 02:16:29 PM
All of the above shit coin and I have never heard name of most of the coins. It seems you are trying hard to shilling for some projects which you own. I would say foe longterm LTC would be a very good choice.
Same here, I never heard those token before and for me, I would not suggest investing on the list the OP provided. Actually, there are already several threads like this which they listed different cryptocurrency that is good for long or short term investment. However, if you're going to do the long term investment, it's better to invest (risk) your money in the cryptocurrencies that are very suitable for that kind of investment and capable to bring you good profits. So far, I would like to suggest to stick with these cryptocurrencies Bitcoin, Ethereum and Binance Coin. Plus, I agree with @Little Mouse which the Litecoin(LTC) is also good for long term investment. And, it is also better to allot more investment in bitcoin than in other altcoins.

But before you invest in the cryptocurrencies you're keeping an eye, make sure to conduct research about it if that would bring you enough profit you want. Just to ensure that you won't regret investing in that cryptocurrency. It's better to know its background and history first before investing your money.

1095  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency TV series appearance on: May 09, 2020, 01:16:08 PM
I have watched that series and I can say, it's really worthy to watch though it doesn't really focus on cryptocurrency or some online scams.

After seeing that scene, I really got mad at his father for stealing his hard-earned money and invested it in a cryptocurrency without knowing much about it. And in the end, the money he earned lost in just a snap. It's really frustrating!

But about this being shown in the scene or even some similar things in other movies, they often use crypto when there is a scam related scene. It's kinda sad that it is often used like that in movies and it can bring a negative image on crypto. People might think that crypto-related investments are all scams. If it's a small scene about crypto, it won't matter. But movie tackling about online scams and crypto movies and only showing the negative side of it, it's no good for the image of crypto. Btw, there are more movies involving crypto.

1097  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Celebrities Will Have Seat in Poker Tournament for Covid-19 Charity on: May 09, 2020, 07:11:52 AM
It's a good tournament idea they are making, it's like you are gambling for a cause. Doing the thing you like while helping people. It's really nice and having celebrities to join the tournament, they can also encourage other people or their fans to help also. What's also good is that they can do something exciting with a purpose while we are facing this pandemic.

It's also great to know some celebrities that actually gamble without worrying about their image. Famous personalities are good for the promotion of this charity event. I hope this tournament will be successful. It's a big help for those charities struggling amidst the corona virus.
1098  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your Gambling Life During Quarantine on: May 08, 2020, 04:18:52 PM
aside from missing sportsbet?i also miss going to Real gambling place and not just online gaming because it becomes boring as days passing by.
i want socialization now as this quarantine is killing me.
added are the limited funds now so i am looking for safer betting and that is sports bet.hoping that after in 3rd quarter everything is back to normal and our life also.
The first few days of lockdown are fine but the longer it gets, it becomes more boring doing the same thing repeatedly.  Although I don't go to physical casinos, I find online gambling sometimes boring when you're doing the same thing most of the time. Even if I play online games, I can't make bets on it because others would not want it since they also need to save their money. So I just play without betting.
That's what i am pointing mate even how enjoyable the game is but if you are doing the same each day it becomes boring specially if you don't know that much other games aside from your favorites because for sure you will lose and may be frustrated .
I bet most of us are eager to socialize with other people but we can't really fo that right now. It sucks, but there's nothing we can do about it. I do hope the same thing that everything would go back to normal.
well if this is what will make things better lets just help the government,so the quarantine will not be extended again and also may keep us all safer from this Virus.
Yeah, it really gets boring when you play the same thing over and over. That's why when I don't feel like playing the usual game, I will try to find another game or things to do aside from that. It still sucks though, knowing you can't go outside and do other things you want. I can't even explore some other gambling sites or games since I need to save and allocate my money properly. I'm the source of money right now in my family.

But just like what you have said, this is just like a little sacrifice we can do to help to slow down the spread of the virus. And I hope this will end soon because we can't any longer stay like this for more weeks or months. The longer it gets, the more people will be willing to go outside and violate the rules because they are tired of staying inside.
1099  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino workers, asking for salary during the shutdown on: May 08, 2020, 07:51:51 AM
In my opinion, casino owners should pay their employees salaries in difficult situations like now. Because of a crisis like now cooperation
is needed by all parties, it cannot just rely on government assistance. All casinos should, especially in America, be able to pay workers
even though they don't work. Because I believe the benefits gained by casino owners are huge.

Unfortunately, the principle "this is a business - nothing personal" most often applies.
The casino is aimed at increasing their profits, they do not create any product, so it is not so important for them to have super loyal employees.
Of course, any enterprise wants employees to want to work on it even for free and love it as their parents, but as a rule, such things happen in companies that produce products that help people.
The casino, on the contrary, can get rid of all the workers, and then hire new ones without losing much.

I think even in a service type of business, the trust and loyalty of the workers are still needed to ensure that the business is running smoothly. Because they are the one accommodating the customers.
Although you have a point that it's easier to fire the workers especially when they are at the lower position, that just does not feel right ethically. It shows how the management poorly handles this kind of situation towards their workers.

i can't really imagine that owners of all those casinos and hotels don't have enough money to pay out employees' salaries. they are just too greedy!

Why would they pay employees that are not working?

Do you think jobs are a one way relationship? Contracts are formed based on the understanding that an employee will perform a set amount of work in return for their salary.

I can understand paying them salary in advance, but they certainly shouldn't be paid for work they'll never complete. That's just crazy.

How would you feel if you were a business being forced to pay your employees to sit around and do nothing?
When we say paying salaries, it does not mean that they should pay their workers even without doing any labor. Of course, it is not fair to the employer as well.  So to make it kind of fair, advances or bonuses are really the best things they can do to help their workers without putting the company at the edge. They can find ways to make things work out well for the two sides.

It's just my opinion though.
1100  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: May 08, 2020, 05:56:41 AM
Good job sila dito.
