981  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin at Banko on: May 31, 2020, 02:20:51 PM

982  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: #BitcoinAndBlackAmerica sign on: May 31, 2020, 01:38:13 PM
I have also seen the video about this and what the police did is not really right, which made people angry. Even if you are not black, you know that what happened is not right. But as for this picture, it says to google bitcoin + black America, so I did. And what shows is a book entitled "Bitcoin and Black America" by Isaiah Jackson.

Quote
Bitcoin and Black America is a dynamic new book that explores the synergy between black economics, Bitcoin and blockchain technology. The global financial system is changing and the digital revolution will not be televised.

We explore how to incorporate cryptocurrency in your business, job and educational institution. This book also outlines the need for separation from the racist banking system and a comprehensive list of black professionals actively working in the Blockchain industry.

I don't know and have not read this book but what I think is it tells how the banking system treats Black Americans differently from White Americans, and that bitcoin is a good alternative for them. Since I don't know anything about this book, I can't say much about it. But the picture clearly shows that she wants people to read the book and realize how the banking system is treating Black Americans, and how some of them consider bitcoin because of this kind of treatment.

983  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China's new law for protecting CryptoCurrency. on: May 31, 2020, 12:17:48 PM
Generally, the law is good to allow the next generations to inherit their family's crypto since it can also be considered as an asset. But one thing I'm curious is that, does the law really have to do something about inheriting crypto? They can just share their keys to their heirs. The difference in crypto with other assets or property, it does not have any papers or documents needed to say that that property is yours, so it's like the law isn't that much needed when it comes to inheriting crypto.

Maybe the purpose of this is for the Chinese government to earn tax. When you pass your asset to another person, there is an inheritance tax, and I think this is the reason why the Chinese government made something like this. Because in crypto, this is not actually necessary but what can you expect from the government, they want to earn on everything.
984  Economy / Economics / Re: More Evidence of Coronavirus as Financial Reset on: May 31, 2020, 07:44:39 AM
Maybe it's not that they don't want patients to be cured, but because the treatment is not completely effective. I don't know anything about medicine and such, but maybe the criteria they require for the patients they used to try HCQ, only fits for those who have the mild effect of the virus. Perhaps this HCQ does not guarantee to cure patients with severe symptoms, especially older people who are more vulnerable to the infected that's why they cannot approve it to be the cure for the virus. I bet WHO had already observed about this HCQ.

Is this the only thing they can think of if they want a financial reset? The people are dying, not only because of the virus but also due to a lack of financial stability. I'm still in doubt about that they will put people's lives at risk just for a financial reset
985  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Good news from Ohio - Sports betting will be legal now. on: May 30, 2020, 02:16:23 PM
Good news for those who love sports and want to make bets but can't do it due to the law. Although it's a good sign for sports bettors, due to the threat of COVID-19, some sports events were canceled and postponed. They still can't fully enjoy the legalization of sports betting. Perhaps, they can just enjoy it when the pandemic is over, and the quarantine is lifted.

Great news for Ohio gamblers. They now have the chance to show support to their favorite sports team with their money.

I don't know why sports betting is not allowed there while gambling is actually open. Sports betting is very much unlike those other gambling casino games which could make you lose money very quickly.
I also don't get it why they don't allow sports betting in the first place while the casino is legal. Also according to the article, they'll earn a 10% tax and that tax revenue will be directed to K-12 Education, which is good for them. But what matters is they can now have fun with sports betting, especially after the pandemic.
986  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Scammer arestado anak pala ni General on: May 30, 2020, 08:43:47 AM

987  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just One Loss After Another on: May 30, 2020, 07:33:27 AM
I'm sorry to hear about that, and as well as your loss. It's really awful to lose a love one, especially that the reason is the virus spreading right now. Although I understand the action of the people around you because they are also afraid to get infected, I don't think it's appropriate for them to act like that in front of you, especially they are relatives of your husband. Sometimes people can be really insensitive with their actions.

About your BTC, please don't worry about it that much because it will add up to your frustration. It will just make you think about your husband and your BTC, and it won't be good for your mental health also. I'm also not good at giving advice like this, but you just need to be positive and don't stress yourself too much about your BTC. I'm also not in the position to say this, but you can still earn back your money, just prioritize your health.

988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: English Premier League set to restart on June 17, 2020. on: May 29, 2020, 01:07:08 PM
It's better than to have nothing even though fans can't watch live in the stadium. Sports bettors have been waiting for this, and although it's kinda different like the usual set up, we need to understand that they also have to be careful. I think most of us are also aware of the possible rules like this like not allowing live audiences, so we have to understand if we really want the event to resume.

I have also seen some news that other sports are also planning to resume even though the pandemic is still ongoing. I am not against it, in fact, it's great news especially for those who really love sports, they can finally watch and bet on the sports they like. They just need to make sure that every athletes and staff are safe before continuing the event.
989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you donate in a casino? on: May 29, 2020, 12:11:34 PM
I agree with you, and I also think most of us will choose to donate directly to an organization. Not because I don't trust casinos, but I think it will just take more time and process unlike making direct donations. It's also easier to look for organizations and charity that accepts donation since there are more programs like than looking for a casino that also accepts the donation. Although your intention is to donate to help other people, you should also make sure that the money you will donate, will be given to the right hands.

But if I'm gambling then happens to see the site that they also offer a donation, then maybe I can donate using that platform. But if my only intention is to donate, then directly choosing a charity is easier.

991  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Glad to be part of BTC Talk I hope I am not late to the party on: May 29, 2020, 07:16:21 AM
It's still not late because you can still learn more about the whole blockchain and cryptocurrency and experience new things. If you think you are already late, what more to those who still haven't been interested in bitcoin. Bitcoin is not easy money and it's not something that will make you rich in a short period of time, that's the usual misconception newbies think. Bitcoin may help you earn profit in different ways, but it does not mean that everyone gets rich. If it does, then I think everyone should have been into bitcoin by now.

By the way, if you are really interested in bitcoin, you still need to study and research some related information about it. It will help you a lot in your journey, and this forum is also a great help to acquire knowledge, you just need to explore. In crypto, it's not only about earning money, but you also will also have to deal with scammers and such.
992  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you do think you can start betting in sportsbook again? on: May 28, 2020, 02:32:37 PM
I also believe that sports betting will be back soon because like any other business or wonders, they can't also just wait for the pandemic to cease because that's how athletes make a living. But I don't think PBA will resume any time since we know that our country is still struggling with the pandemic, and every day the number of cases is increasing.

Other countries may resume their sports event, especially countries with lower reported cases. They can resume game events without an audience to avoid the crowd. But compared to other sports, basketball requires a group of players and the same with boxing, they require close contact which is what we are trying to avoid. Maybe other sports can begin again aside from those sports. But if other countries had started reopening such sports, it's fine as long as they can follow safety protocols.
993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [DISCUSSION] How to overcome a big loss in gambling? on: May 28, 2020, 11:53:38 AM
Losing is part of gambling, and we as a gambler should know and be prepared for that. The bigger money you put into gambling, the higher the risk you'll be losing a big amount of money too. That's why it's advisable to only gamble the amount of money you are willing to risk and lose. If you can't cope up with big losses, it means you should only stick with small bets. And that's what I usually do since I can't afford to lose much money.

For me, gambling is for entertainment and not as a way to earn income. I only make small bets to avoid regretting if I end up losing my money. I agree with what OP said, but if you still can't handle it, then that serves as a lesson. Why would you put yourself in a situation you can't handle and overcome? That's why in gambling, we should really think first before putting everything at the risk.

995  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think shops should accept bitcoin? on: May 28, 2020, 08:02:16 AM
Some shops have been accepting bitcoin as a payment, but of course, we cannot force every business to accept bitcoin. Those who accept bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are already into it and are willing to risk. If you are a shop owner, why would you accept bitcoin if you are not aware of its volatility?

Since bitcoin's price changes easily, it depends on the owner if they are willing to accept it. Although I have not personally encountered some small-scale businesses who accept crypto, it would be great to know that some businesses are adopting it. From a seller's point of view, a sudden drop may be a loss to them but if you will just hold it for the long-term, you can gain higher profit. That's why it depends on the shop, and if I were to make my own business, I will be glad to accept bitcoin payment as well.

998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you borrow money as your bankroll if you trust your skills in gambling? on: May 27, 2020, 01:29:01 PM
Even if I trust my skills, I would rather not use anyone's money to gamble. Of course, if I know I'm good at it, I will use my money. Why should I use other's money even if I knew can win it? The only reason for you to borrow money is that you don't have enough money to gamble anymore so it can also mean that you are not that good or lucky because you've already lost your own money.

If you don't have money in the first place but still believe that you can win in gambling, it's still not a good idea. If you lose, you will have to pay them, if you win, that's good but I still would not use borrowed money. If I will get used to borrowing money because I know I can double or even triple it, I might become dependent on borrowing other's money to gamble, which is not a healthy practice in gambling.
999  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are your recommended ways of gambling. on: May 27, 2020, 10:18:04 AM
I think that the best way to earn money in gambling is to have your own strategy!
Although we have our own strategy, it does not always work when we gamble. Our strategy may work for a certain time but not all the time. It's better to have different strategies so if the first did not work, then you have other options. But it's not just having a strategy about the game, for me, you also need a strategy on how to handle your money like when will you stop and take a break.

I may not be that good when it comes to gambling compared to others but I always try not to be greedy about winning. Luck also plays an important role, so if I feel like I am continuously losing, that's the time when I think of whether to stop or not. Then I will try my luck the next day or another day. I don't aim at winning a jackpot prize that is why even small winnings really matter to me and I tend to be contended with how much I won.
