541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be careful when you play games with your coins! on: September 11, 2020, 04:03:51 PM
Most players just play for fun but if you have experience a huge profit in gambling, you may change your mind even though, you have set your daily limit. Those rules tend to be broken with the same reason that rekt most gamblers, that's greed. To me, in order to enter gambling platform, you need to have self discipline and strong mental toughness to resist temptation into betting more than the average amount you've wager.
But sad to say, I think a lot of people forget about self-discipline and they just continue gambling and gambling without setting limitations. Also, even if we started gambling with this kind of mindset, sometimes we also often forget about it because we become more greedy about winning and I'm guilty about that as well. Just like what you said when someone already experienced winning something big, they become more greedy about winning again, and that's more difficult to resist.
542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Millennial Generation Investors Prefer Bitcoin Over Gold on: September 11, 2020, 01:58:03 PM
We probably have an idea on why this generation prefers crypto, it's because of technological advancement and that they can easily adapt to this kind of investment. And for me, it's easier to acquire or make an investment with bitcoin than gold. Personally, I only have an investment in crypto but I don't have with gold. It's kinda same with others since the older generation tends to be more reluctant about investing in crypto.
543  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Insensitivity in analyzing/reading scam/problem on: September 11, 2020, 12:59:16 PM
Sometime we thought that the person we are dealing with is trusted. Some have fake attitude and you only realize that when its too late and already fool you.

I think your friend is too complacent and think that everything is perfect.
Being observant is a must. Thats the problem on most people, they were relaxed when dealing with other people. Transaction must served always with cautious even the most reputable person could end up double crossing you.

In some instances, we get the feelings that we are comfortable with someone, and we trust them. But people have different characteristics and mindsets, you can't easily think they intend no harm. They will talk to you like they don't have plans to mislead you, but little did you know they just do it to gain your trust and manipulate you. A scam happens to everyone, and we meet different kinds of people and those people have different ways to trick us. We usually come to the point that we think that we are experienced enough to avoid it, but we don't know a person's genuine intention and that's why we should make time to think before trusting people.
544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My experience is gambling on: September 11, 2020, 09:44:32 AM
The idea of winning makes it more exciting that's why we gamble. But unlike you op, I don't really aim to win big since the more we aim for a bigger prize, the more we become greedy and would keep pushing all for our money until we can "win big" but in the end, instead of winning, you'll just lose your money.

It's really important to control our emotions, as well as contentment on the amount you can win even if it's just a small amount.
545  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Over 8700 Bitcoin ATMS now Installed Globally on: September 10, 2020, 04:50:54 PM
This is good news for all of us, back then in 2017 there were several bitcoin ATMs in my country's shopping centers and now they are gone, because maybe the interest in cryptocurrency in my country is not as big as in America so ATM owners withdraw them. Hopefully in the future there will be more Bitcoin ATMs in the country. me to make it easier for people to make transactions and attract people to use cryptocurrency.
Bitcoin ATM is indeed growing since crypto is getting more attention nowadays, though it's not the same in every country or continent. Probably it's not really profitable in your country that's why it did not last, unlike in America where a lot of ATMs are being installed. But it would be really great to see the growing number of ATMs in different countries (not just in America) even if it won't probably be used by a lot of people.

546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be careful when you play games with your coins! on: September 10, 2020, 02:27:22 PM
Hello, friends! We all know in anything that we do (including Gambling) there is always profit and loss, many gamblers forget that and they end up crying.
You should always play online games with a good plan, set a limit amount for playing a day. Without setting some amount you may deposit all your amount and lose it all.

Gambling is risky, remember you earn your coins in a hard way so protect them. Gambling is profitable only if you will play in them a good way.
I have already seen a lot of advice like that especially here in the forum and probably people also outside the forum have heard this kind of advice. Don't gamble what you can't afford to lose, but not everyone will follow or even listen to it. It's easy to give advice but once a gambler starts playing, we sometimes forget to control ourselves and exceed our limitations. I also tell this to others about planning and setting limitations but sometimes, I can't even control myself and I think it's normal because we have our greed, what's not normal is when we don't know when to stop.
547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Problem Gambling in the wake of covid-19 on: September 10, 2020, 01:50:29 PM
I couldn't understand those people they are already having trouble on money and yet we are facing a pandemic which result of losing jobs for most of us and yet they are using it as an excuse to gamble?
Shouldn't they think about it if they would use the money for something else then they could help their own or even their family.
Why would they even risk the only money that they have left? and they doesn't even know when would be the next time that they could get some money again.
Probably because they get blinded by the idea that they might win and earn money by gambling. Perhaps they use gambling as an excuse to earn money since they lost their job which is their primary source of income. We don't really know what runs in their head why they still choose to risk their money but I think it's a sign that these people are already addicted to gambling because they won't do it if they still know how to use their money wisely.
548  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [MEGATHREAD] Pilipinas Coronavirus/COVID-19 Thread on: September 10, 2020, 12:31:08 PM
Nakatatakot lang kasi 'yong kapitbahay namin right beside our house eh nag-positive.

549  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: {Warning}: Poloniex Phishing Website on: September 10, 2020, 07:14:42 AM
Try to check the URL carefully, and you can clearly see that there’s a diacritic on the letters which you won’t find on their legitimate website. We should be aware that it can be considered as a red flag, and scammers used it to confuse the users. Fortunately, Poloniex has compiled lists of their websites, social media sites, and apps to help their users avoid such incidents.

550  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bangko Sental ng Pilipinas on Crypto adoption on: September 09, 2020, 06:03:17 PM
Obviously, they don't have any plans on adopting cryptocurrency. The last thing they want is to lose what they protect the most--control--which is what Bitcoin is trying to dismantle. Hopefully, magbago ang perspective nila at magfocus sila sa pagtulong kung paano mareregulate ang use ng bitcoin without changing its core aspects.
I agree.

551  Economy / Economics / Re: Can legalisation of Cannabis help US economy? on: September 09, 2020, 03:49:17 PM
There are always two sides to this issue and if ever they will legalize it, of course, it may help their economy, but don't expect that it will give a huge impact on the economy since there are still a lot of people who oppose to this. This has been a debate for a long time because of its positive and negative side effects, it may have a good effect but people can abuse it once it becomes legal.

So for me, I would say that if they are just looking for something that could help the economy, why not just focus on other things aside from legalizing cannabis. But it would be fine legalizing it unless you trust the government enough that they will provide enough restriction and there would be no abuse of it.
552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Potential DeFi Exit Scam on: September 09, 2020, 02:20:39 PM
This happens because people want easy money, to the point that they don't consider the process and consequences because they are much more focused on how they will be able to get it. Nowadays, scammers would make every effort to gain your trust and provide plausible information. This is why it's significant to do a background check to verify if the project is worthy. There are different articles about Defi exit scam that will guide you before putting your funds at risk and always do prior research. Be careful and don't trust easily.
553  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 1,500 restaurants in France start accepting bitcoin payments through Just Eat!!! on: September 09, 2020, 01:46:03 PM
That is good news because people can try to pay using bitcoin to buy food in those restaurants. But for me, I don't want to use my bitcoin to just eat in those restaurants because I want to save every bitcoin that I have. I will still use fiat money than to use bitcoin, but I hope that other coins will be accepted as the payment transaction.

But using bitcoin as the payment can help people to avoid using physical money because they can use a mobile phone and scan the cost to pay the food. That will be like a cashless for making the transaction.

Everyone might not use bitcoin as payment in restaurants but I think this is also good for recognition. People using Just Eat will be able to see bitcoin in the payment option which is also good even if only a few will use it. It also has a good purpose why they included it since they saw a decline in using cash for payment. Though I also agree with you that I'd still prefer using cash. But it would also be great to see this kind of adoption in other countries as well.
554  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Dangers and Risks for Beginners on: September 09, 2020, 11:45:50 AM
Every beginner needs to know that 99% of altcoins will go to zero. Perhaps a few of the altcoins we have right now will survive the long run. History has proven that altcoins usually do not have anything to offer and are mostly speculative instruments in the cryptocurrency world.
Bitcoin is the King. Remember this when the next forked coin claims it will do the flippening and replace Bitcoin in dominance. Don't make the mistake to listen to sock puppets and influencers.

Maybe many of them failed, but there are still some altcoins that were built with a good reputation. I can't blame you with having a mindset that most of them are not worth the money because we're at a time where scams are so prevalent and beginners are most likely to fall for it because they take a risk without doing advance research about the potential risk and dangers they may face. This is the reason why research has a significant role in everyone, it presents a different view of things. That way, you will have a sufficient understanding of which coins are a good investment.
555  Economy / Speculation / Re: sell now or you WILL regret it on: September 08, 2020, 03:25:24 PM
I will not feel any regret and I will not sell. I'll feel more regret if I sell all of my holdings right now.
I also feel the same way because it still has a chance to recover and that's why I prefer to hold it than to sell it. I have never thought of selling my holdings because I have faith in the cryptocurrency that I'm currently holding. Besides, it still has a chance to recover even if the price is falling since the market has always been like that. I think op is just trying to give advice (though I just read this thread now and it's already at the 10,131$) but I don't wanna get swayed because as long as I can handle how the market is moving, then I will just keep holding.
556  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Schiff son buys more bitcoin against his advise on: September 08, 2020, 02:04:56 PM
I don't know why but I find this really funny because for sure he tweeted that with confidence, he even added a poll but the result shows the opposite. But I would agree to what others have said, he may be experienced and professional in investing but it doesn't mean he's always right. They've been in the field but mostly in the traditional investment that's why they are very reluctant with bitcoin but at least, his son is open for this kind of investment even if his father advised him not to.

558  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for blind people on: September 08, 2020, 12:12:00 PM
We still have plenty of rooms for improvement and Bitcoin isn't really going to replace Fiat anytime soon.
It is just sad that with all the hype and good things that is going on crypto some people couldn't really get into it because of their disabilities even if they want to.
It is hard to trust your money with others so I understand that they want to keep it on their own so they doesn't have a choice but to ignore crypto even if they want to invest in it.
This is kinda new to me but I agree. Since technological innovation is way faster than before, perhaps in the near future we'll see more opportunities for people with disabilities to have easier access with bitcoin just like us. Maybe if crypto gets more attention to the public, we might see more development for them to also get into bitcoin regardless of their disabilities. But I think if they really want to enter the crypto space, it's best to have someone they can trust to guide them since it's more challenging for blind people to adopt bitcoin.
559  Economy / Economics / Re: In COVID-19 everyone needs motivation on: September 07, 2020, 05:27:37 PM
I think this is every worst situation for all, especially those who are suffering from the pandemic, so we have one option that is to find a way to turn it into positive.
Many died as well, lost our jobs, our businesses and everything, so we really couldn't say it's a blessing. But in this condition, we should just look forward and think about of next-generation future. otherwise, our upcoming generation will also suffer as now we are facing
This year already gave us a lot of problems, and this current situation really brought a lot of pain, and people are suffering but what we need to do is to keep going. This pandemic should not stop us from moving forward because it's always up to us if we want to survive since we can't just depend on our government or anyone.

I've already heard several stories about other's struggles in life because of this whole issue, but I'm just wondering, what do you think can motivate people who are heavily affected by the pandemic? I don't think others will still think about the next generation because they are already suffering in the present so how can they think of the future.
560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto gambling sites should be careful of bringing eSports in on: September 07, 2020, 02:25:18 PM
I think this is not just about the crypto gambling site, I mean even if they don't allow minors to gamble in their site if the person really wants it, he will do anything to enter or to gamble even if he's a minor. We can't blame the gambling site for having e-sports because they don't specifically offer that for minors so they don't have to adjust or what, it's always the guardian who should be responsible when their child gets into gambling at a young age.
This is one of the challenges today’s technological advancement made in the society. Children, the younger generations as a whole, are very keen with technology. In this circumstance, in particular, the gambling sites neither parents don’t have assurance that minors would refrain from gambling in their age, prohibited to gamble by the jurisdiction.
Indeed. Younger people are the ones who can easily adapt technology that's why they are more prone to online gambling because they can easily explore various things on the internet. Without really the proper guidance of their parents, they can discover online casinos without their parents knowing it. Gambling sites have their responsibilities like prohibiting minors from their sites, but parents should be the ones to always monitor their children because gambling sites can't really stop minors if they really want to gamble.
