521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India looking to Re-ban Bitcoin on: September 16, 2020, 11:40:51 AM
India government are still contemplating the pro's and con's of cryptocurrency in their country. Whatever the final decision, I believe it is all for the betterment of their own nation.

Anyhow,

Instead of a ban, India needs a regulatory framework to protect uninformed retail consumers “to ensure adequate oversight of the government and the RBI over cryptocurrency businesses,” said Sanjay Khan, Partner, Khaitan & Co, a New Delhi-based lawyer who advises firms. “India can actually benefit from such a regulation to attract cryptocurrency investors and businesses.”

If they'll gonna take this advice, this may eventually be a good decision, too. They may actually do some implementation and jurisdiction on how and where to use cryptocurrency. Afterall, there is always a good future gain in their country.
I agree that they will also benefit if they will regulate it instead of banning it, as stated in the article. It is also mentioned the cons of banning it in India

A renewed trading ban could affect more than 1.7 million Indians trading in digital assets and a rising number of companies setting up platforms for the trade, data shows.

It will also affect companies like Singapore-based CoinSwitch, which added 200,000 users after starting India operations in June and was reporting volumes of about $200-300 million, according to chief executive officer Ashish Singhal.
It will affect a lot of traders in India so they should probably look at this thoroughly before implementing a law to ban bitcoin. But I think it will take them a lot of time so maybe it will enough to make a better decision for their country.

523  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Food for thought: Coins.ph and Pdax.ph phishing attempts on: September 16, 2020, 10:00:58 AM

524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do think about skill games? on: September 15, 2020, 04:04:07 PM
Personally, I prefer skill-based games because you have something to rely on which is your skills and ability, unlike luck-based, it's just luck. You can also practice improving your skills in a certain game but you can't do that if it's about luck. But the skill-based can be a wide variety of games, and I have not really tried playing the skill-based slot mentioned in the blog since I play other types of skill-based games, so I can't really say anything about this slot game that requires skill but maybe it would also be fun to try.
525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: The newest#DEFI project to look out on: September 15, 2020, 02:24:42 PM
It is not surprising to see people getting suspicious about this project since they don’t present enough information to review. If someone gets interested in that project, then he/she should evaluate it and we should not pressure ourself to make quick decisions especially in doing investment. Establish a good fundamental point and look at possible risk and the outcome. Don’t get swayed easily and always do a background check. Then again, it will become another sh*tcoin in the market.

Is there such information posted on your official website? There’s a lack of information, so how can you convince them to trust your project if you simply cannot provide details about the team? So, how can they guarantee if the team is credible? Based on your contact page, the twitter account doesn’t exist. How can they see the updates? Try providing a variety of information about the project, and it will help people determine if it’s worth the risk. And, probably this another sh*tcoin that has been created this year.
529  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Police Raids and kids involving spider betting. on: September 14, 2020, 03:30:52 PM
What exactly is the authority trying to prevent in the country?  Crowded places due to the health problem, animal fighting, gambling, betting on animals?
I think the police is doing the right thing of it is trying to stop or prevent all of the above.  People should avoid gathering in crowded place without following the good safety measures. They should also not allow people to encourage animals to fight nor bet on fighting animals. In regards to gambling, it's obviously not a good thing to gamble in anything atall especially for selfish reasons. We must be good/profitable at betting before committing more money/time in it.
A bettor must not gamble. Bet with small amount of money or what you can afford to lose till perhaps you become good at the games/competitions. Bet only on good and safe games (no betting on animals fights or other violent games). Be a good and responsible bettor.

Spider betting is not really a problem here in my country since it's been popular for a long time. The problem is social gathering amidst the pandemic and the kids are outside which is not allowed I think, that's why the authorities are constantly monitoring op's place. Although I don't think that the authorities are concern about gambling at a young age since it's just a small betting made for fun, I still think it's not a good practice for minors because they might adapt it when they grow up.

Authorities now are concern of both the social gathering and most of all the gambling. Even before the pandemic, the President in OP's country have a directive address to the Philippine National Police to stop illegal gambling even the small ones like bingo or card game's with friends. There are so many arrest made by the PNP here in our place on that spider betting games and illegal cockfighting even before the pandemic happen, that's why that kind game is not visible on the streets unlike before where the openly bet on the streets.
Well yeah, gambling is still prohibited as of now but what I mean is that the authorities are not concerned about these kids betting on spider even before the pandemic because it already becomes a childhood of most of us. And that it's not really their job to worry about kids who might learn gambling at a young age (that's what I'm retaining). But for the protocol, they are now strict towards any kind of physical gathering and gambling.

Personally, I haven't heard or seen people or kids in my place that are into spider betting today.
530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I Think YFFIC token will be the token of the year 2020! on: September 14, 2020, 02:46:50 PM
This is another sh*tcoin for this year 2020 and I have been seeing several projects like this coin which only has 30,000 total supply. Probably, most of us already see the coin YFI, YFII, YFV, or what so ever that coin which is now popular today and most of the coin who have Y in the token name has a good price in the market. However, I'm not sure in other coins because we already know some of them are scams and it seems this YFFIC will also turn like that. By just seeing the website, it's not good as other projects that we see and it seems freshly made and I just check the twitter account and it says the account doesn't exist so do you think OP it's safe to invest in coin? How funny that some people are still believing in this kind of project and hoping no one will fall on this typical scam project.
531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Aviatrade accepting BTC as payment for $40 million Gulfstream private jet on: September 14, 2020, 01:28:09 PM
This is really interesting tho. The article says that they are accepting bitcoin to attract international buyers which means that they have a good view of bitcoin. Big holders might really find it interesting and might actually buy it, but even if a future buyer wouldn't use BTC, it's still fine because we are seeing that more sellers are opening for bitcoin payment which is good. We will probably see more opportunities like this in the future.

533  Local / Pilipinas / Re: [Security] Be Careful About Downloading Fake Wallet Apps on: September 14, 2020, 09:56:56 AM
534  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOINS REALITY SHOW (BRB) on: September 13, 2020, 04:42:04 PM
I don't know..For people to keep watching a show, it should be entertaining, and I don't know how you will make bitcoin entertaining since discussing it requires some technical terms. And if it will show bitcoin's advantages and uses, I think it would be more a documentary type of film than a reality show.

For me, instead of a reality show with a lot of episodes, I think commercials can attract viewers more because they'll be able to see it even if they are watching a different show.
535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Police Raids and kids involving spider betting. on: September 13, 2020, 03:33:01 PM
I can remember growing up and the people around me love playing with spiders. Yes, it's a form of gambling and it's just sad that this kind of game is very popular among kids yet their parents still let them play with other kids even though it involves money. But since it already became a part of our childhood, parents just let them play with it. Though I don't know if kids still play this amidst the pandemic because it's quite risky. Parents are the ones responsible for their kids and shouldn't let them play outside because of the virus.
536  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: {Warning}: Exodus phishing website in Google on: September 13, 2020, 02:13:32 PM
Let us hope that no user has been victimized by these scammers. Sometimes people will think that the site is legit because it shows up as google ads. However, if you are a responsible user, you will check first the authenticity of the sites especially that there are a lot of phishing websites these days.
The problem is, some people aren’t responsible enough to check the differences in URLs, incautious browsing leads into this type of problem. Some of them are not aware of how risky it is for their personal data and that’s why they should educate themselves about how a phishing scam works. It may seem legitimate, but by checking the spelling, you can clearly see the difference between those sites. It is also the reason why people suggest to employ a secure browser because those kinds of ads are dangerous.
537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FAKE GIVEAWAYS IN DISGUISE AS BINANCE on: September 13, 2020, 08:06:14 AM
Always visit the official website of Binance or any exchange that you like to use. Check their blogs if there are giveaways or promos just as indicated by those people or with your email.
If you found none, don't notice them again.
Before joining a giveaway, make sure to search for further information that will affirm the giveaway is legitimate. Why? It’s because scammers can easily counterfeit some details from the official source. They use a widely known website to enhance to make it look credible. As always, people always let their greedy control over them. It slowly destroys their minds, which makes them susceptible to fall into such type of scams, even if there’s an obvious sign that it’s a scam.
538  Other / Archival / Re: What will happen to bitcoin on a world war? on: September 12, 2020, 03:30:59 PM
If a world war might really happen, I don't think people would think about money or even crypto first because what will matter is how can we survive from all the attacks? Bitcoin can really collapse, even other currencies. But bitcoin will always be there however, you won't be able to use it when you die, so lives matter more I guess. It's just like the previous wars, after it, countries will need a lot of years to recover from it.
539  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin difficult to understand on: September 12, 2020, 10:48:12 AM
I suppose most people don't really need to know in-depth technical aspects of Bitcoin as I assume knowing its basics might suffice for anyone who wants to try it.

There is a ton of Youtube videos and reference materials that can be found on the net including information from this forum. If anyone is really interested to learn about it then I also think they might find it interesting as long as they have enthusiasm.

It obvious that not everyone like to read online and comprehend and some bookish people like note book
More than internet evidence.
That's the problem some have.
People have different preferences in their way of learning. Some choose to search online because it’s convenient to use, with just a click and you can easily see different kinds of information. While others find books as a good and trustworthy source of information, that’s why they prefer to use it to study. What’s great about is you can choose what you are much more comfortable with, since there are textbooks about cryptocurrency and there are sites online that offer free cryptocurrency courses.

I dont think there are still people who believes in this scams.  People are now educated, they wont fall on that simpliest form of scamming.
Every person and even those experienced ones can be at high-risk of scams because it occurs in a variety of forms. Yes, it is a prominent type of scam, but people have different views of things. Some are built as bait, waiting for a victim to grab it. By just looking at the photos, you can clearly see false promises and it’s a red flag. It is the reason why people should be aware that not every lucrative offer is legitimate and why we should consider doing a research before risking our hard-earned money.
