701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Covid crisis & evolving phases on: August 04, 2020, 02:35:25 PM
We can see that digital transaction is growing and that this pandemic allows people to adopt this method of payment because they find it safer than using the traditional method. We are not sure until when this pandemic will last, but even when it's gone, people already saw the convenience of digital payment and they might continue adopting it. However, when we say digital payment, it does not necessarily mean Bitcoin or cryptocurrency since it's quite complicated for others and is not accessible for everyone. Also, the government has to say about this, whether it is accepted or not.
702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AltcoinDaily.io Youtube channel removed on: August 04, 2020, 12:31:05 PM
That's the problem when you are a user of another company. You are under YouTube, and what they give is what you would take, and the rules there should be abiding by members. I think AltcoinDaily.io should create their website and post their content there instead of in a video service provider. They can have full control and post whatever they want they think is appropriate for their content. I'm just not sure about the audiences, though, but at least they have complete control.
They can have both their own website and still upload on YouTube. But since YouTube has millions of users, it's easy for them to gain attention on that platform compared to creating their own website. Even if such problems occur, they can't abandon YouTube because their channel already has over 200k subscribers.

But at least, they already get back their channel. Since they are already a big account and if proven that they are not scamming people on YouTube, it's easy to get it back.
703  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [How to] Detect and recognize projects on: August 04, 2020, 11:27:23 AM
A lot of guidelines have been shared in this forum. Unfortunately, scammers are also upgrading their strategies in order to fool people. In fact, we can`t easily differentiate the genuine projects from a fake one. It should undergo into a deep research for us to know how a project really serious.

I don`t know how we can eradicate this problem in crypto space. But I think educating our own selves is enough to avoid scam projects. Besides, learning from the past is enough already to lessen people who easily bait by flowering words of fake projects.
It is precisely the reason why finding details concerning the project needs to be studied because it is not vague, they will use data from different projects just to make their project reliable in the eyes of investors. Furthermore, even the white paper should not be immediately trusted, it needs to be evaluated in detail to figure out if the said information is factual. Hence, it is a must to distinguish the various forms of how we can easily spot scams to be alert and protect ourselves because some of it is a trap and some represent a window of opportunity.
704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: top 6 cryptocurrency , Invest in 2020 on: August 04, 2020, 06:55:59 AM
Are you sure that people should invest into Tether? Firstly, it is a token backed by dollar, so you are not investing but buying because there is no potential for growth. Secondly, there are more honest alternatives, for example PaxosUSD.
I don't have any idea why OP includes the Tether and we all know it is a stable coin and no matter what happen, it will remain at the price of 1$. Many of replies here notice that OP is simply promoting the Titan coin and I guess I already see it in other threads here. Probably, in the list, there are 2 coins that are good and worth it to invest and those are Bitcoin and Ethereum. Those 2 coins already have good progress on their price and if they're going to follow the list that OP provided, it's better to ignore the Titan and other coins and just focus on Bitcoin and Ethereum.
705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone in the Bitcoin ATM business? on: August 03, 2020, 04:43:26 PM
I'm not really sure it bitcoin ATMs are growing despite the COVID issues since I can't feel it. But l think it depends on the country and the adoption they have when it comes to bitcoin. In my country, I have not recently heard any news about the growing number of bitcoin ATMs, as well as the number of people actually using it. And as far as I know, we only have like 4?

But generally, some articles said that it's indeed growing but mostly in North America. Perhaps people there find it helpful during the pandemic.

706  Other / Off-topic / Re: Trump is preparing to ban TikTok on: August 03, 2020, 02:44:18 PM
China has been banning different apps in their country, so I think the US can also do that. There are already some articles/news circulating that TikTok is spyware, which is also not impossible at all. It can be a threat to their people, so if it's indeed true, they can do it to protect them. I have seen a lot of Americans using that app, especially young and teens. But knowing that a lot of them are really into TikTok and have already gained so many followers, influence, and also money through that app, of course, we will see them against banning the app. But according to the US general manager, TikTok won't be going anywhere so I think there's a higher possibility that Trump won't ban it. And we can't deny that we also enjoyed some videos from that app.
707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Investing in Etherium will now be the right decision? on: August 03, 2020, 01:29:57 PM
Until now, we can see the slow progress in the price of Ethereum and it depends on you if you're going to enter or not. But for me, it's quite good to enter now since the price of Ethereum is still not too high and who knows if its price will continue on increasing. The best decision you can do right now is to study its movement on the market so, you can able to set when you will gonna enter. Then for me, investing in Ethereum is a very good decision since it will have a great update which can help the price to grow more and this update is a most awaited update of all Ethereum holders.

Still, in the end, it's up to you if you're going to invest, and make sure before you enter you already have background or knowledge about it.
708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you fear the president of your country, one day, making Crypto illegal ? on: August 03, 2020, 10:44:17 AM
For now, I don't have such fear because I don't see any reason for our government or the president to ban crypto in my country. Especially now that we are in a pandemic and that's the main issue of almost all country. Even without it, I have not seen any violent reaction from them about crypto and adoption.

But if the government is showing a negative reaction towards it, of course, you will get worried about the possibility that they might ban it in your country. I think a chance like this will come if some incidents or someone will trigger the government to ban crypto, but I just hope that such things won't happen.
709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [experience]; In one family all professional gamblers. on: August 03, 2020, 08:38:28 AM
It's inevitable to see a family with two or more who gamble because they start to adopt what the other member is doing, knowing that they live in a single house. But of course, not every family is like that, some other families are conservative that is why some are hiding it from them.

I and my father are the ones who sometimes gamble because we are the only guys in the family. However, as an older brother, I don't want my siblings to get involved in gambling. But I am also honest with them that I gamble and that I don't have to hide it from them.

711  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin good for the economy? on: August 02, 2020, 02:46:22 PM
Rather than the economy, I would say bitcoin is good for the individuals, such as opportunities, and freedom. But since bitcoin is still not widely accepted or recognized by everyone, the good or the advantages of bitcoin can only be felt by limited people, and those are the one who uses bitcoin. Since we are using bitcoin, we know the pros and the benefit of it that we are looking for.

However, bitcoin is not widely accepted yet, so those things mentioned above still cannot be felt in the economy. But imagine if bitcoin achieved mass adoption, not only individuals will realize what bitcoin can do, also the whole economy.
712  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [MEGATHREAD] Pilipinas Coronavirus/COVID-19 Thread on: August 02, 2020, 01:09:34 PM

713  Economy / Economics / Re: In the pandemic economy, tech companies are raking it in on: August 02, 2020, 12:24:21 PM
It's because most people are on the internet since we are stuck inside our houses and have nothing to do. An example is YouTube, a lot of people are either suddenly creating their own channels (expecting to be big just like other YouTubers) or binge-watching different videos on YT. Since they can't do anything, most ate just switching different apps on their phone.

As for online shopping, not only in Amazon, I have also seen that a lot of people enjoying it these days. Because for others, it's safer to buy things online than going outside. Even me, I get attracted to buying things online especially Facebook is showing a lot of ads. Even if we say that most people are struggling financially due to the pandemic, people would still make way to provide things they need and want. Also, no wonder why a lot of people are now selling online because people are mostly on the internet.
714  Economy / Economics / Re: Philippines will drop as a Country, Economy on its worst! on: August 01, 2020, 01:40:00 PM
What's making it worse is that the government is showing a lack of competence in giving its best in fighting the virus. And the people are getting aggressive with that, they often go outside to rally which is more threatening to the health of everyone. I can't blame them for that because only those who are at the bottom will feel the struggle. The lack of financial and health assistance, no jobs for those who need it, no concrete plan for the whole economy, and increasing debt. Even the president is looking like he's depending on China. He mentioned that he talked with the Chinese President asking if they could send help to the Philippines once the vaccine is created. Of course, it's not their job to prioritize other countries.

It's not only the president's job, it's the whole government. But I guess this pandemic is a wake-up call for our generation to vote wisely during the election because this kind of issue is not a joke and we need to feel the assurance that they are doing their best for their people.
715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter Hackers Arrested! [Updated] on: August 01, 2020, 10:51:59 AM
Rather than being an expert or genius in that field at a young age, I'm more concerned about the fact that at that young age, he decided to hack and scam other people for money, knowing the consequences. He's still a minor and living by himself, I guess the lack of guidance from his parents is also a factor why he was able to do it.

But at least, the hackers got caught. They are smart enough to hack big accounts, so they probably know the consequences of their actions. Even if he's still a minor, he should be responsible for it. A good job for the part of the authorities for finding them without taking a long time.
716  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Mga site na pwedeng kumita.. on: August 01, 2020, 08:30:58 AM
717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Traditional Crypto online gambling sites against Crypto based gambling sites on: August 01, 2020, 07:10:26 AM
I will choose traditional crypto gambling since it accepts different cryptocurrency which makes it easier for gamblers. As per what others have also said, having various crypto is already an advantage because gamblers can choose what they want and what is available.

And the traditional crypto gambling is still popular among crypto gamblers so no doubt that most of us will choose the traditional one. It's easy to attract possible customers or gamblers when they have a variety of crypto to choose from compared to only a specific one.
718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we need bitcoin? on: July 31, 2020, 07:18:55 PM
Quote
Do we (the world) need bitcoin?

Bitcoin is not really a necessity like the basic needs but it is a social need that address a particular problem in the world. The world needs Bitcoin to address a specific problem or gap in the financial ecosystem.  The financial ecosystem is really tired with the centralized system. People needs the financial freedom to make transactions without difficulties, and bitcoin and cryptocurrency brings that financial freedom.
I would agree with you. Since we are aware and have already recognized the essence of bitcoin, we're starting to need it since it gives us a benefit that we are looking for. But for people who still have not understood or realized what bitcoin or crypto can do, it's not that important.

Generally, we can still live without bitcoin, but living is not just about basic human needs. We are living where we are surrounded by the centralized system and bitcoin is one of the things that give us freedom from it.
719  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Record Revenue for Blockchain Gaming Company During Pandemic on: July 31, 2020, 06:28:47 PM
When the pandemic begins, most of the traditional casinos in my country was force to close because of the virus and it is the reason for me to open account in different online gambling casinos and online betting website. Actually, I spend most of my time in playing dice, slots and even poker. I'm too bored also that is why I open an account in online gambling sites. The traditional casinos are now operating again so for sure that many online gamblers will switch to traditional casinos again but I will stay playing in online casinos because I know that it is still risky to go outside.
Boredom push us to do gambling, I also do gambling due to people who are showing their payouts despite lockdown and is able to win. It inspires me to do more gambling since I gamble once in a while before but during quarantine, I really do gamble a lot that came to a point that I includes it in my budget. I know many tries their luck in gambling and been depended on gambling during those quarantine and are trying to win to have profit or money to sustain their living due to loss of job.
Everything changed when the pandemic begins, there are activities that I cannot finish and do like the way before and it is the reason why it pushes me to spend most of my time in online casinos because it can kill my boredom. I'm a sports bettor before but it got changed because most of the sports in that time are not operating because of the protocols that they need to follow. I'm now used to play slots and dice and it helps me to be productive and kill the boredom that I keep feeling.
People are really getting bored the longer this quarantine and pandemic lasts. Until now, the pandemic is still here so most of the people are still required to stay at home (unless you are working), so no wonder why some gaming companies suddenly gain such revenue.

I have been gambling online even before so there's no much change, it's just that the quarantine tempts me to gamble more than what I usually do because of boredom. But I have a question now that you get used playing slot and dice, how does it help you to be productive aside from killing your boredom?
720  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [MEGATHREAD] Pilipinas Coronavirus/COVID-19 Thread on: July 31, 2020, 05:36:38 PM
Almost 4,000 ang reported new cases ngayong araw, at mas lalo itong nakakabahala. Ngunit mas kapansin pansin yung 38,000+ na new recoveries.

<...>
Yun nga. Nakakabigla na makitang mahigit 38k+ ang mga recovered in a day. They did that for what, exactly? Okay s'ya at some point dahil ang dami nang recoveries but knowing that they're just mild cases and asymptomatic is quite bothering.

I'm as confused as you are, kabayan. If those mild cases and asymptomatic are considered as recovered, are they still in the hospital or still in quarantine or still being treated? I hope yes 'cause if not, and they'd be released without being considered as fully recovered, then mas nakakatakot yun para sa mga taong pilit na nagi-ingat sa virus na 'to.
