1001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your Choice To Stay Longer Online Or Casinos on: May 27, 2020, 07:58:56 AM
Obviously, I enjoy playing online because that's where I mostly gamble. I occasionally gamble physically but have not tried going to a big casino place so I don't really have experience with the perks of casinos. I enjoyed staying at home and gamble online since it's the place where I am comfortable the most. And I don't have to worry about the time and money since I can stop whenever I want to.

Though I know that there are also perks of playing in a real casino that I can't experience online, I am satisfied with online because I don't really give much time and money on gambling like the others. But if given a chance to experience a physical casino with my friends, I would be glad to try it.
1002  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If you think carefully, you can’t do a lot of thing in life on: May 27, 2020, 06:50:26 AM
These restrictions are for everyone's safety so what's the matter if you can't go and live the way you like as of the moment? You know there's a pandemic, after this, then you can go outside without wearing a mask and do what you want. And why would they allow stealing? If you think carefully, there's a reason why there are restrictions and limitations to what you can do freely.

Removing the pandemic, even if there are restrictions like that, you can still do a lot of things that you want. The hindrance is not the law or the government, it's yourself. If you want to do something, then do it, you can't do things if you won't work for it. For me, there's nothing wrong with it, because it does not harm anyone, in fact, these rules are implemented to protect people. We just need to understand that there is a virus spreading that is why we can't go outside, but after this, we can go back living our normal lives and do what we want.
1003  Economy / Economics / Re: Highly educated scammer hate bitcoin! on: May 26, 2020, 02:43:41 PM
He chooses to work full time like that and throw away his profession. It's kinda disappointing that he wasted his time studying medicine to just let go of his medical career. But it's his choice after all if he thinks he can be a millionaire by doing it than pursuing his profession, let him. About his dislike towards bitcoin, we can't force everyone to like it since it's a personal perspective. Simply just like you, you don't like the idea of MLM but you believe in bitcoin.

What I don't like about this story is that he uses the money of his friends for his own benefit but his friends received no return. And if it involves a big amount of money, why they just let that happen and did not report it or something? I feel bad for his friends who trusted him and made an investment and gained nothing. The reason why sometimes even it's your "friend", it's hard to trust them especially when it's money-related. For me, the issue here is not that he doesn't like bitcoin, it's actually how he deceived his friends for money and then saying they are stupid for believing him.
1004  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble to escape your problem? on: May 26, 2020, 01:10:54 PM
We all have different ways of escaping reality. Escaping reality for a while is not bad, even gambling as long as you know how to control yourself. You are right that gambling won't solve our problems but sometimes it's good to forget about your worries for a while, and do what you want. You can't just stress yourself thinking about your problem every time, we also need to have fun.

Although gambling is not my escapism, I am not against those who gamble to escape reality because that's their way of enjoying. But of course, gambling can also add our problem that's why even if it's your escapism, you still need to gamble moderately. They can gamble if they want, it's not bad. What makes it a bad thing is because of too much greed. Just because you can forget your problems when gambling, it does not mean that you will just gamble every time. Continuously escaping problems won't be any good.
1005  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [SUGGESTION] Isang problemang mapapansin sa Local Board natin on: May 26, 2020, 08:15:32 AM

1006  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [MEGATHREAD] Pilipinas Coronavirus/COVID-19 Thread on: May 26, 2020, 06:14:06 AM

Quote
“Wala nang aral, laro na lang unless I am sure that they are really safe. It’s useless to be talking about the opening of classes.

We will study this carefully, but for now, we think that it’s safe if we will be opening classes by August 24),”

1007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble right after coronavirus outbreaks? on: May 26, 2020, 05:16:00 AM
Everything will be gradual, it depends on what country you are in if your country has wiped out the COVID because of quarantine, you can go out and start playing again, any government will make sure that there is zero infection for 2 or 3 weeks, but if your country starts doing vaccine and has announced zero infection, the casinos can reopen provided that they get clearance.
There will still be safety measures whether their local governments will declare a complete 100% annihilation to the virus. If you have seen the news internationally, there are countries that have been good for few weeks yet some people were infected again.
It's a serious matter that every country should look at and to us, gamblers perspective, we have to take it seriously as well and just chill at home since we are flexible and can gamble online.
Even some countries who are not in lockdown, they still avoid making or going to crowded places to follow the protocol. In Korea, you will get hated if you go to a club amidst the pandemic. And I think even if the country is positive with fighting the virus, they still have to keep distancing. So I guess it will be really hard to reopen casinos even if the country has a low infected case because it might be the cause to increase it.

I guess online gambling is really the best solution for gamblers.

I don't think I can I have to go back to my work and earn money to pay my bills that are mounting, I think it will take a month or two before I can go back to gambling casinos and besides the gambling casinos will need a lot of compliant before they can go back to business, but right now it will take several months before we have a vaccine for COVID so it's going to be a very long wait.
What if the vaccine can't be made sooner? That's a big problem for us. Not just because we want to gamble, but because it's hard to go back to work properly, knowing that there is still a virus. We have to stop working, but the expenses don't stop.

I do not even know. Everything will depend on what kind of situation regarding quarantine will be in my country.
If all goes well and all people return to their usual life, then why not? I will be happy to celebrate this event at the game.

It would be a great celebration. But I wonder when will can we celebrate? The end of the virus is still vogue since there's still no more or vaccine. Countries are working together, participating in finding the vaccine but they can't still find any. I hope that someone can already find the cure so everything will go back to normal again.

1009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling hiding, rules ignored. on: May 25, 2020, 02:24:00 PM
But it's prohibited for the moment because of the pandemic, how come they have permission?
their casino has illegal permission from the government, since the pandemic is in effect, all physical casino casinos are closed to prevent wider viruses, not current licenses, the purpose of official permits for the owner and founder of gambling/places.
not now from the past.

If that casino is really being backed up by higher officials, it means that there is a double standard. If it's a normal citizen, it's not allowed and they are violating the rules, but if it's the authorities, they are allowed? As if authorities can't be affected by the virus.
This is a big problem right now, by ignoring the rules and accepting in secret for those who bet on the table.

It is undeniable that most of them are respectable people and in view, the authoritarian system with the horns in power and those without the horns is destroyed.
I feel annoyed with their actions, as if...! because people are prohibited from going out and doing their activities, the people themselves smuggle at night, they think they are getting away with the law, very ironic.
These kinds of people what I really hate. Even in my country, there are people like that. Just because they are a government official and have the authority, they think it's okay for them to violate the law. It's really ironic because they are the ones making the ordinance, and supposed to make everyone follow it but they are the ones disobeying it. They are not an exemption to the law.

I hope higher authorities would take action towards this and punish them. If they get infected by the virus and they start spreading it to other people, it will be a huge problem. The virus does not choose whom to get affected, they should be careful with their actions. The more they do this, normal citizens won't be afraid to violate rules also because they are seeing even the authorities are doing it.
1010  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An inspirational story of a 19 year old boy. on: May 25, 2020, 12:51:18 PM
Good for him that he already has knowledge about cryptocurrency and bitcoin at the age of 12, and also that he's already thinking about investment. Usually, at that age, you will just think of buying things that you like. But in his case, he used the money given to him to invest in bitcoin. He's already lucky to receive such a huge amount of money at a young age for his birthday.

The story is already inspiring and it can teach us to think about our future. Investing is really a big thing that can help us secure our future. But it would be more inspiring if the money he used to invest was his own hard-earned money. But I can say that he's really good at managing his investment that it was again to grow like that. But overall, it still gives a lesson that we should use our money wisely, and let's not waste the opportunity over greed. We can buy more things we want if we think practically.
1011  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks would suffer till at least 2025, according to IMF on: May 25, 2020, 12:00:10 PM
It might really take time before America can finally get back what they have lost during this pandemic since they are hugely affected by this. But it's not only America since a lot of countries are also facing the same dilemma. It might take 5 years if the vaccine can't be found immediately, and the government won't work efficiently to fight against the pandemic.

I kinda agree that America can still stand despite the big losses brought by the virus. When they can finally stabilize the growth of COVID cases and as long as they can adapt living normally with extra caution even when there's still a virus, the economy won't crash that hard. If they can learn from other countries who manage to control and flatten the curve, America can lessen its possible losses.

I see the point that bitcoin can be a good way or alternative currency amidst the pandemic, also the point that digital transactions may help to prevent the virus from spreading. But I don't think that everyone is still capable of adapting these changes. From what I can see, there's a lot of problems we can face once the majority move from physical to digital transactions such as cryptocurrency.

Online transactions may be one of the prevention but there are lots of ways to make online transactions, it's not only crypto. If people would adapt digitally, it's more likely to be cards or e-wallets. Maybe in the next years or decade, cryptocurrency will get more recognition, but for now, the benefits we see of bitcoin and crypto during this pandemic is still limited to us who've been using it even before.

1015  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginners Guide to Increase Merit to Become Legendary Member!!!! on: May 24, 2020, 02:07:37 PM
That is what the basic things that you really need to do in order to earn merit. But I want to say that you don't just aim to be a legendary member here in the forum, aim to gain and increase our knowledge about crypto at blockchain. This forum is just one of the places that can help us in our journey but there's a lot more to discover. I have already seen a lot of similar threads on how to earn merits, and I bet most of us already know what should we supposed to do to achieve higher ranks. We are aware of these criteria but being a Legendary Member is not easy because it takes a lot of effort and dedication into it.

What we really need to earn merit is to gain knowledge first. We can't make a good contribution if we know nothing.  Although you don't have merits yet, you are already aware of how to earn. Thank you for your tips and I hope to see you with merits by applying these lists you made.
1016  Local / Pilipinas / Re: [GUIDE]Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) on: May 24, 2020, 12:19:09 PM
~snip~

Nagets ko naman po onti yung idea ng MACD and how it helps to predict the crypto market eh but still, lahat po ba ng online platforms may ganito?

1018  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible to live without banks? on: May 24, 2020, 06:17:20 AM
It's still hard to live without banks because until now, people are dependent on it and with fiat. Also, the fact that the government won't allow removing the bank and paper money. The bank plays an important role in the economy, it's not just about printing and making paper money. As long as people are receiving and making transactions using paper money, banks will be there. Even with cards, they are the one who is decreasing your money when you buy things using your card.

If everyone will be using decentralized crypto for every transaction, then I think it will be possible to live without banks. But the idea of decentralized crypto as the main currency is still quite impossible to happen.

I admire how much dedication you put here in the forum to be able to achieve that rank that fast. Imagine, with a short span of time, you were able to rank up from Senior Member to a Hero Member. Every time I see users here telling their story, it really amazed me to see how much dedication and efforts they are giving here in the forum.

I am already a Senior Member though I'm still wondering if I could also reach that rank within this year. Whether I will reach it or not, I will still put my effort just to contribute here in the forum, although I know I'm still lacking a lot, and still need to learn more about crypto and blockchain as well. But anyway, I really want to congratulate you OP on that achievement. Like what I always say, you would not reach that rank if you are not deserving. Congrats!
1020  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What does Gambling really mean to you? on: May 23, 2020, 02:56:22 PM
We can have a different meaning or perspective about gambling but I think we will all agree that gambling includes risking. For me, [gambling is an activity where we risk something valuable to us in exchange for winning or acquiring something that is also valuable].

We can have an objective and subjective definition of gambling depending on our experiences. And what I have said above is the objective meaning of gambling for me. While subjective thoughts, gambling is for leisure and entertainment. I find gambling entertainment and a way to pass the time. Gambling is not a bad activity, it only looks like a bad thing because of how people can be affected by this if they cannot handle their own emotions and desires.
