461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: French police arrest terror financing ring that used Bitcoin coupons on: October 01, 2020, 07:23:41 PM
It's not new at all, we have already heard or read news about some terrorist groups that are also using crypto for transactions. This kind of news may bring a bad image to crypto and misconception to others but it's not really crypto, it's the people who used them for wrongful activities. Regardless of what kind of currency, these terrorists will always find ways to do what they want, the only good thing about this news is that the police authorities were able to catch them.
462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain and Bitcoin adoption globally. What is the cause of the slow pace. on: October 01, 2020, 06:48:07 PM
Mainstream adoption does not always come so fast. Even the internet took some time before getting recognized and adopted by the majority of people so it's also the same for blockchain and bitcoin. Also, not all governments are positive towards bitcoin because of decentralization that's why there's also a lack of support from them and some restrictions since the also play a big role to bring awareness about blockchain and bitcoin to people.

What we can simply do is to give awareness and educate the people around you. But doing that requires a lot of time and effort so it's really not easy and fast to see mainstream adoption.
463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Newbie's guide to avoid ICO Scam on: October 01, 2020, 05:44:21 PM
Sometimes the initial look of website or whitepaper is enough to judge a project because professional and serious projects will not compromise even on the quality and design of the website. So we have to check the ico project from all aspects before looking to invest.
With the increasing number of ICO scams, we should have an idea of the things that we must check to determine the credibility of an ICO. Examining the white paper is significant, as it contains every detail of the project. But I don't think it's a sufficient basis to verify if the project is legitimate because it can be easily plagiarized.

464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HOW CAN ONE KNOW A FAKE AIRDROP? on: October 01, 2020, 05:04:19 PM
Airdrop can be lucrative, but it portrays a huge role in the world of scammers. It has become their method for the past few years and up until now. Therefore, you need to be careful and evaluative. By identifying the credibility of an airdrop, you can review the details of the project on the official website. You can also gather further information on their social media platforms that will support their announcement that they are implementing an airdrop.
465  Economy / Economics / Re: FOLLOW THIS RULES TO BECOME RICH on: October 01, 2020, 04:28:25 PM
It's easier to say but not everyone has the capability to do all these rules. When you are starting at the beginning, it's not easy and it requires a lot of time and hard work before they become rich and that not everyone has the same opportunity to be able to do all of them.

Your rules have a point but I think that most of them are applicable only for those who already have money and they just need to maintain and generate more income to be richer. Also, the list looks longer so if you will summarize it, it's just telling you that you need to have good self-discipline on how you will manage your money.
466  Economy / Economics / Re: Mathematics and economy on: October 01, 2020, 11:24:10 AM
Does Math Olympics really matter to them because I see no correlation? Investors decided to invest in Southeast Asian countries because they see that it will be worth it, and there's probably a lot of reason behind that but not because of math international contests.

The majority of Samsung phones that are being manufactured are in Vietnam because of its low labor cost, not because of students winning the math Olympics. I want to know where that idea comes from but it's still a good thing that Southeast Asian countries can also lead in Math Olympics which they can be proud of.
467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Great News: Nigeria Launches Digital Portal and Mobile App on: September 30, 2020, 05:13:15 PM
I'm not sure if this news will affect adoption or crypto investments in Nigeria at all. Enrolling in ICT courses does not really mean it will include crypto and blockchain also for the facts that it was not mentioned, but one thing I can say about this is that it's a good thing for the people there. They can learn and increase their knowledge about digital literacy and skills that will be helpful for them, knowing that we're continuously adapting to technology and the digital world.

468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports Betting vs Real "Sports Feelings" on: September 30, 2020, 03:15:43 PM
There are fans who will still vote on their favorite team no matter what, perhaps because that's their way of supporting their team. While there are also fans who still set aside their emotions and bet on any team they think will win regardless if it's the opponent of their favorite team. For me, there's nothing wrong with both of them because it's their money after all and that's how they decide. It's just that you need to accept the result in the end. And personally, I'm the type of person who will still choose to bet on my team.
469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My take on DeFi bounties on: September 30, 2020, 02:14:20 PM
1. It's because as of now, it's popular and a lot of people are investing in DeFi projects, so they probably also want to join the hype
2. To remain inaccessible, especially when they have successfully carried out their plan on tricking people.
3. I agree with you OP, because some of it contains apparent mistakes, like grammar and spelling. Though there are some fake websites that copy the content of a legitimate website, to the point that you won't mistake it as a fake one because it includes all the details of the real website.
4. That's not new, and it will not disappear as long as plenty of people are interested and the reputation of some Defi is improving. They don't care if they are all using the same tactics because what matters to them is the possible profit. So, if you have an idea about the dissimilarity between a real and fake project, then you can clearly identify which one to invest. In addition, we can't just go with the flow with the trend; we need to examine everything.

470  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beware of this new scam method. on: September 30, 2020, 12:31:59 PM
They will continue developing a new tactic, and they will improve it every time it gets exposed to the public. By just looking at it, he's using his capacity to persuade that he's a trustworthy person. Little did he know he's manipulating the wrong person, it's a good thing that you have an idea to teach him a lesson. We should always remember not to trust anyone with our money and information.
471  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Read the rules and don't post plagiarised content. on: September 29, 2020, 05:33:23 PM
Everyone in the forum is obliged to obey the rules properly, it is made to ensure a safe, stable, and peaceful community. Associated with the rules is the punishment, so once you have committed some mistakes when it comes to the rules then you have to accept the responsibility wholeheartedly because you chose that path. If you are thinking of copying other people's work, think of the time, effort, and the work he poured just to finish it.
472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would you prefer? Live casino games or slots? on: September 29, 2020, 03:58:40 PM
Personally, I would choose live casinos like poker and blackjack because it has more thrill, unlike slots that you will click things again and again. But of course, I choose games based on my mood since I also play slots when I feel like playing it. As others have mentioned, there's a tendency that these games can be manipulated but I don't really focus on it that much as long as I have trust in the site where I'm playing. Also, I don't really gamble too often so I just depend on what I want or feel like whenever I gamble.

474  Economy / Economics / Re: Waiters/Waitresses/bellboys etc just lost their jobs on: September 29, 2020, 12:07:02 PM
Is this the video about the launch of the Spot Robot from Boston Dynamics? The humanoid robots are far from gaining the kind of dexterity and maneuverability to function in a room crowded with people bumping into them. Even if some day they did, i don't think that patrons would prefer continue going to a restaurant to be served by charm-less robots.
A real waitress/ waiter has so much more to offer to the ambiance as well as the customer. Some "services" would always remain better with humans.
Agree with that. Even if the continuous development and innovation of AI, some jobs are still better with humans.

74500 usd / 3000 = in around 25 months i will recover my investment with Spot as a hotel owner ,no more need for human worker ...
Also given that that "thing" could possibly replace humans jobs, and get back the investment in 25 months, don't forget that it will also increase electricity cost if they will totally replace humans of those jobs mentioned.
It's inevitable that we are slowly adapting and depending on the technology but I think it will still take time. Even with that advanced technology, not everyone prefers using it.
475  Economy / Economics / Re: IMPACTS OF ROBOTICS ON WORLD ECONOMY on: September 28, 2020, 05:16:00 PM
Robots Increase Productivity and Competitiveness: When used effectively, they enable companies to become or remain competitive. This is particularly important for small-to-medium sized (SME) businesses that are the backbone of both developed and developing country economies.
It also enables large companies to increase their competitiveness through faster product development and delivery.https://ifr.org/img/office/IFR_The_Impact_of_Robots_on_Employment.pdf
Although it may improve such things, SMEs don't really need such huge productivity when customers are only limited, unlike big/factory businesses. Also, the cost of having robots is too expensive for most business owners to fund it when their income will probably not enough.

If this is about the positive impact of robotics, of course, it does have a positive impact knowing that we are adopting technological innovation since we are seeing how technology is making things easier. However, for now, it's still quite early or most people are still not ready for this big adoption because this kind of innovation will cost a lot.

477  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Experience, Be Aware! on: September 28, 2020, 02:50:09 PM
Scammers are always there looking for victims to trick and lure to make them fall for their tricks on any platform. We are aware that there are a lot of scammers in Telegram that's why I don't really give my trust easily especially on people who will just randomly come to me.

Good for you op that even when his offer is tempting you, you did not get lost nor swayed by it and did not fall for it. Some things can be tempting but not all are worth it because greed can lead you to something worse.
478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting small amounts on a lot of matches or big amount on couple of matches? on: September 28, 2020, 11:18:08 AM
If you are confident enough with the matches you will be betting on, then you can try increasing your bet for experience and also for a chance of earning profit. Just make sure that you can afford to lose the money you will be betting so it won't be hard for you.

Personally,  I also don't bet a huge amount of money, but I do bet a bigger amount than you usually do. Try to improve your betting strategy so you can earn enough profit, like betting different amounts depending on the matches and how confident you are with your bet. You can't just always stick to what you usually do, try increasing it for more thrill.
479  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: investing ???? 🤔🤔🤨🤨🧐🧐 on: September 28, 2020, 10:03:50 AM
Kung interesado ka na mag invest lalo na kung sa isang defi project, pwede mo ito icheck.

Link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5273137.0

480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for Christmas on: September 27, 2020, 02:07:22 PM
This idea of giving gifts using bitcoin is nice and new for others so it'll be exciting, so I kinda like this one. However, make sure that the people you'll be giving this kind of presents have an idea of what to do about it. If they really don't know about bitcoin, it'll be a lot of work if you'll continue it because you'll also have to tell them or teach them what to do.

If you aim it to introduce bitcoin, then maybe you can also consider giving tangible things that have bitcoin or something on it, I guess? But you can push your idea since there's still a lot of time unless you're willing to teach them what to do about it. Maybe you can start doing it with your closest friends and family first if you really wanted to try that idea.
