761  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mindful of scammers and hackers on: July 21, 2020, 12:57:59 PM
Greed, vanity, unwillingness to learn/research/question. They are the reasons why scam persists to this day.
That's true and greed plays a big factor in the world of scammers. They used it as an opportunity and advantage to delude people who possess an excessive desire to earn money easily. Hence, people must remember that not every opportunity is real and needs to be taken, then most of them are just fooling you around. It may seem alluring, but you can't easily say it's a lucrative investment, except if you have properly examined the information about the investment. You can help people to be heedful by giving some ideas about various scam tricks.
762  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Allegedly Coinbase prevented 1,000 customers From Sending Funds to the Hackers on: July 21, 2020, 09:55:43 AM
Focusing on the action Coinbase did with the recent issue, they really did a good job preventing 1000 customers from sending funds to the hacker. Without taking immediate action, the hacker could have got such a huge amount of money from the customers that could lead to a much bigger problem.

Great move by coinbase to help their customers on securing their funds I hope more online wallet would take action like this to prevent their customer from getting scammed in the future.
And to stop or lessen the scam on the internet lets just hope that more people would also help prevent some scam like this by reporting it to the developers of online wallets and even in exchange.

With the recent incident, I think exchanges will also learn from it to prevent the same scenarios from happening again. But it's not just about them since customers are also responsible for sending funds.
763  Economy / Economics / Re: Business / private sector is dead on: July 21, 2020, 05:18:07 AM
It's not totally dead like what you imagine, there is just a decline with some businesses brought by the virus. For now, we might see a decrease in clients and customers for some business or private sectors but since we are just starting to reopen amidst the pandemic that is why there are still no enough clients. People and businesses still need time to recover from their own losses.

As for other jobs you mentioned like taxi drivers, they will really experience this since it's still not advisable to go outside so there are not enough customers and it's expensive than other means of transportation. In barbershops, I think they are still getting customers since barber shops we're closed for months (and people want haircuts) it's just that they are afraid of going to public places and having close contact with other people since there is still a threat.
764  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Free Cryptocurrency Courses for Beginners on: July 20, 2020, 04:52:16 PM
That's a nice initiative to provide a good opportunity for people who are willing to learn and enhance their knowledge about cryptocurrency. I did an overview of the site, and its a really nice, it also features a great deal of well-explained information about the topic. It also includes different modules starting from the basics as well as its application which can definitely help beginners in further understanding and clarifying some questions they have about cryptocurrency. Aside from that, it's really accessible for beginners since it's free and that it does not require them to pay for these courses.

Btw, thanks for sharing this platform.

765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ask]; Start betting on horse racing gambling. on: July 20, 2020, 02:57:47 PM
I have not tried betting on horse racing but I personally know some people who like horse racing and they have been betting on it traditionally since it's popular here in my country (they are kinda old so they don't know about online betting). But since they have been doing it for years, what I know is that having knowledge about the horse and the jockey, and their race history is a big help to know how well they do in the race. It's kinda same with other sports that you should be familiarized first so you know who is most likely to win the race. Perhaps, you can watch some previous races to have an idea if it's your first time betting on horse racing.

768  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your favorite crypto for gambling? on: July 19, 2020, 05:20:58 PM
The most of the gambling games are accepted the Bitcoin and Ethereum. At the same time few gambling sites are supported the other altcoins.so I mainly concentrate Bitcoin and Ethereum. But Bitcoin is a user friendly and more convenient to transact all the places so I mainly concentrate the Bitcoin. In crypto platform transaction fees is main role to play all the gambling sites so Etherum also good supporting to me. I think currently number of of gambling sites are available in the market, so myself I always recommend to BTC and ETH.
Yeah, most gambling sites offer bitcoin or ethereum so I think it's more convenient using the two since they are mostly available with crypto casinos.

I just gamble occasionally (only when I feel bored), but when I do, I just use and stick with bitcoin. I was already used to using BTC whenever I gamble since that's what I mostly have regardless of the fees. Others like using other coins because of cheaper fees, but since I don't gamble that much, I'm fine with it.
769  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Non-risky investments on: July 19, 2020, 03:47:50 PM
Like what they have said, there is no such thing as no risk when it comes to investment. If you ever find some promotion that says it's free from risk, there's a high possibility that it's just an investment scam trying to lure people with their so-called "risk-free" investment with high return.

There's no gain without taking any risk. You can make your investment in cryptocurrency, stock, property, and such, depending on the capital you have and your preferences. But all of them contain risk so better research and study the market before investing.

771  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting biggest winners. on: July 19, 2020, 01:23:10 PM
It's amazing to see those low capital wager and hit a huge amount of jackpot. These are a life-changing event and almost all gamblers dream. I had never won a jackpot my entire life, but I don't want to keep on betting chasing this jackpot and realizing soon that I already lost a huge amount.
It's so nice to see some stories of bettors who were able to win a huge jackpot prize even when they only bet a low amount of money. Those people on the list were lucky to experience winning such a huge amount of jackpot but not everyone has the same luck to experience it and this kind of luck mostly only happens once.

Just like you, I have not experienced winning a big amount of jackpot since I only stick with a small amount of money when betting since I don't wanna end up losing a lot. I also don't wanna chase after jackpot prizes since I believe that I will win it even without chasing them if it's really for me.
772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People still falls for Bitcoin doubling scheme and fake giveaways on: July 19, 2020, 09:31:47 AM
Because they're blinded by greed so fell for that kind of scam and it can still exist. Double your money? Come on this is the year 2020 already. Really ever underestimate people's stupidity.
It's the reason why they fall for that kind of scam. Being greedy for profit can also be the reason why people lose too much money instead of earning. For me, we can't blame them for falling and getting scammed on such giveaways since not everyone is fully aware of this kind of scheme in social media that is why they easily believe in what they saw on twitter. We all know that all the twitter accounts who got hacked are well-known exchanges and people in the field of cryptocurrencies so, probably this might be the reason as well why they fall on it. There's no such instant double money in cryptocurrency that's why we need to careful and knowledgeable so, we can avoid all those scams and fake giveaways.
773  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic situation declining and famous celebs not paying workers on: July 18, 2020, 03:54:10 PM
It's always been those people at the bottom who will suffer the most during a crisis or economic decline. It's one of the major problems brought by the pandemic since millions of people are suffering from no income and some even lost their job during the lockdown. But I don't think companies should get charged for not paying their workers since they were forced to stop the operation and there's no job done during the lockdown so they are not obliged to pay them for the days they didn't work. Also, the fact that during those days, they have no revenue. However, I also get the point of the workers that they are only depending on their income and nobody wants this pandemic. Companies should have just sent help or compensation for their workers since they have funds like this for emergencies.

What if these people , these small workers start their own brands and directly receive payments in Bitcoins ?  What matters is skills , the price will be cheaper for the person buying it and these people will even make more.

They are small workers, they can hardly find the money for their food so how come they can start their own brand?  Let's say even if they start their own brand, they can't easily make that business big compare to the company where they are working. It will be hard for them to export their products so they can only sell their products locally. But my concern is, would there be enough customers that will use bitcoin as payment.
774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Oldest scam in the book can help you make money on: July 18, 2020, 09:38:23 AM
They have their faults for easily believing in what they saw on the internet, and they are also responsible for it but instead of blaming and laughing at them, why not teach them and give awareness to those who don't have an idea about these scams.

We also make mistakes with our choices but it does not mean that we are not deserving of sympathy and help from others. They can learn from this experience not to trust and believe in everything they see online. If they get scammed again, it's because of greed so they should be responsible. But let's not judge these victims for believing and falling in this old trick scam because we don't have the same level of knowledge and awareness in everything.

776  Other / Off-topic / Re: The New Normal on: July 17, 2020, 03:41:41 PM
Technology is now playing a more significant role in our generation, especially now that we are facing a pandemic. Technology and the digital world can definitely help in regaining what we have lost in the economy since it'part of development. From online transactions, buying and selling, online classes, and work. However, not everything can be done online since there are still things that we need to do manually and physically.

We may now see the importance and the big role of technology but it is still not accessible for everyone. There are still a lot of challenges adapting from traditional to digital especially if you are living in a third world country. Even if the technology is already part of our lives, only those who are privileged can adapt to this sudden change of "new normal" way of living.
777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins worth buying on: July 17, 2020, 09:31:39 AM
I've been reading through this forums for the past few weeks and all I see is "this coin is dead" or "everything is a shit coin". Is there any alt coin with potential to invest in or is it only bitcoin?
I can say there are still some altcoins that are worth it to invest, like investing in top-performing altcoins in the market. But the truth is, there are more sh*tcoins in the market, and every day we can see new altcoins that are occurring from nowhere. I also agree with others here that, Defi projects became popular today and most of them now have potential in the future. They are also worth it to invest but it's still better to make a good research about the project before investing. I also found some projects that worth it to invest like Elrond (ERD) and Chromia (CHR). Just to clarify, I'm not promoting this project. But before you invest in this make sure you made your own research about them.
778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Record Revenue for Blockchain Gaming Company During Pandemic on: July 16, 2020, 05:01:51 PM
I am okay with people advertising but I wonder who the marketing executives at this Sandbox company who thought it was a good idea to boast that they were doing well when the pandemic is generally bad news for most people. A lot of us lost our jobs and income,,, and I know a lot of people affected even worse than my family. Not such a good win for the guys at the article.
For me, it depends on how you will view what they had reported about their revenue. For others, it may sound like they are boasting while other businesses and individuals are having a hard time earning money. But for others, it's just a normal report. Perhaps they are just proud that amidst the pandemic, the industry or the company is doing well because blockchain gaming is getting recognized by the public.

And I think, it's not just about the revenue. It's about the impact that the company receives even during the pandemic. It's no doubt after all since gamers would tend to just play online because they can't go outside.  It may also be one of the reasons why they had a record revenue since it brings attention to the blockchain gaming industry.
779  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [MEGATHREAD] Pilipinas Coronavirus/COVID-19 Thread on: July 16, 2020, 03:38:43 PM

On the other hand, sadly, we have surpassed 60k covid-19 confirmed cases.
