421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: List of Defi scams on: October 11, 2020, 12:49:15 PM
Very informative post, this is necessary to aware crypto community through this kind of informations anyways couple of defi projects in the list were looking genuine to me at the time of beginning because it was presented with attractive concept now this is very unfortunate to see the projects have existed scam, scammers will always come with this kind of scam projects so we must be very careful before investing in any project.
Is not it how they attract investors? They make it visually pleasing to convince people that they are a trustworthy and profitable investment. However, some of it indicates a visible sign of scams. Despite that, people don't analyze the risk of it. It explains why assessing the details of the project should be focusing on. Protect yourself and assets by learning to consider the information on the project, such as their core objective and contact details. We should always be careful about doing investment especially on those Defi projects because after we see an increasing number of projects, we also notice the number of Defi scam projects.
422  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My experiences so far and my advises for the newbies. on: October 11, 2020, 10:19:43 AM
3. Do not beg for merit
I have noticed some newbies that have no more than 2 posts and zero merit begging for merit. This signifies unseriously and a perfect no-fit to be among the forum members. Let your topics and posts do the work.
Exactly, it is not called merit for nothing. It is the result of your outstanding effort to contribute and help your fellow members. There's no need to beg when you can just use your knowledge to educate others and share your experiences to make good advice. It is not something to beg for, if you badly want it, then make an action. Don't depend on other people, that way you will be able to prove you deserve it.
423  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitcoin SCAM on youtube right NOW! on: October 10, 2020, 05:04:51 PM
YouTube already took it down which is a good thing after all. I have already seen a lot of scam activities on YouTube since it's a huge platform where scammers can attract a lot of potential victims. That's is why YouTube needs to step up and improve how they take action towards this kind of scams to protect its users.

Most YouTube scams are not new anymore so we are already familiar with how it works but sadly, some people still fall for it because of the lack of awareness.  Since we are aware of these tricks, it's best to report it whenever we see something suspicious and give awareness to other people.
424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling sites accepting bets from countries where gambling is illegal. on: October 10, 2020, 02:47:24 PM
It's their fault for accessing a gambling site that is restricted in their country so they should also know what possibilities could happen. I don't find it worth it to give extra effort just to gamble on sites that restrict my country since there are a lot of other gambling sites that I can choose where there would be no problems like that. I'm not a big gambler that's why I don't get why they will insist on gambling on those sites that don't allow your country, but accessing it illegally is just wrong so they should be prepared for the consequence.
425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Money from bank hacks rarely gets laundered through cryptocurrencies on: October 09, 2020, 04:57:45 PM
Still, it happens sometimes. But laundering through us dollars is much more common.
Probably because the use of cash is more common the Bitcoin that's why it has more money laundering issue aside from the reason that cryptocurrency is more complex.

And maybe anti crypto should read this because this is the first argument that they are going to throw at you when you have a good discussions/debates with them. At least in my case, this is their main argument when I got the chance to talk to people here about crypto, specially bitcoin.
I agree with the op that we can use this as an argument but I think the reason why others think that cryptocurrency is more prone to money laundering is because of misconception. They probably often see news about money laundering that involves crypto that's why they think that it's always cryptocurrency though it's not.
426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling License on: October 09, 2020, 01:43:58 PM
I am more on the reputation than the license, why? because reputation means casinos are operating profitably as there's a lot of gamblers who trusted them. I just think that even if we are playing in a license casino and then we got scammed for let's say an amount of $1,000, how far we go to go after the casino?  Me, I just for move on and accept the loses, besides I don't gamble what I can't afford to lose.

Same goes for me, license is not really mandatory, and i know the risk in playing with unlicense gambling sites. As long as it has good winrate and has high odds. Its good enough for me, because i know how this kind of business works, and how much it cost just to make a website. You need to pay the hosting, devs and marketing. So gambling owners will really have a hard time developing and growing that business, scamming people's money will all be waste of effort especially when you've gone through alot of process.
That's why for me, it's kinda safe to assume that those reputable and trusted online casinos are already licensed even without checking it because they won't be trusted by most gamblers if there are problems with their site. However, as you have said, it's hard to start this kind of business, especially building a good reputation that's why I doubt that this reputable casino will scam their customers even if they are not licensed, that's why I'm more into reputation.

428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A case of the pandemic changing the score and affecting sports betting on: October 09, 2020, 11:43:30 AM
The pandemic is affecting many areas, including sports. There've been discussions of how the home advantage doesn't fully come into play on empty stadiums, and on many events getting cancelled, resulting in people betting on stuff they would not normally be interested in.

The pandemic has a huge effect on sports and sports betting.
How many of us here realized that the homecourt advantage isn't literally about the comfortability of the players playing on their own court, but it's actually the home crowd?
Unexpected outcome also happened in the NBA. Underdog reaching the finals, all time low NBA finals tv rating (which supposed to be expected to become higher as majority is staying at home), and betting odds became a bit harder to predict.

I don't know how long are we going to live like this.
It's affecting as in many ways. Even in sports, bettors nowadays are having a hard time because of unexpected circumstances that make it hard for us to predict the result of the game. I can't really wait for this pandemic to end and be back to normal where we can watch and bet like before. However, I just like to mention what you have said because I think that home-court advantage can be both the crowd, and the comfortability since the players are just probably not used to playing with no crowds.
429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people avoid bitcoin? on: October 08, 2020, 05:30:13 PM
I do notice that some people naturally don’t allow bitcoin in any of their daily transactions even when it faster and easier, they still don’t prefer using it, I have noticed this a lot, Some classes of human,Sometimes when they are to receive money from another country like international transfer sometimes it takes 2 3 days to arrive,They will advise them to use bitcoin and they still don’t accept it even it faster and easier. Now how come we make bitcoin come to people.
Although bitcoin has some advantages, in some cases, it's still more convenient to use the traditional one in daily transactions especially that there are still limited merchants who accept bitcoin and most are still using fiat.

As for sending money from different places, maybe perhaps they are still not aware of bitcoin or knowledgeable enough to fully understand how it works. Also, the government also needs to be considered in both countries who will have a transaction if there is a restriction or not. But generally, a lot of people still don't really understand Bitcoin and that's a big factor why they don't want to use it.
430  Other / Off-topic / Re: [PSA]: FBI gives warning about using WIFI in Hotels on: October 08, 2020, 04:12:46 PM
I never always think of using Public WiFi for the same security reasons. I ensure that even when traveling, all my internet bundles activated and are enough for me to use throughout the period. With the presence of very capable mobile devices that can act as Internet WiFi Hotspots for your laptop or Tablet such as MiFis and Smartphones, I don't get it why people still use public WiFi. Yes, it may be free or cheap but is it worth risking your privacy or sensitive data in your device?
It will never be worth it just imagine if someone has used your data in illegal activities. With one misstep, every single information on your device is captured. It just makes you susceptible to network snooping, which means the server can easily track every action you made on your device and have access to your private data like bank information.
431  Economy / Economics / Re: rich people super rich are taking loans now why? what it means ? on: October 08, 2020, 02:56:17 PM
Rich people have the biggest debt because they are capable of paying it. They take a loan to have more assets to run on their business to be richer which means they also pay their debt and take another loan, and that's how they work so there's nothing new about it actually. It's different from how normal people take a loan because they usually just use it for daily expenses that's why they have a hard time paying it, unlike rich business people who know how to circulate their more to earn more.
432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A case of the pandemic changing the score and affecting sports betting on: October 08, 2020, 01:38:38 PM
This can really be one of the dilemmas of having a match during a pandemic because even players armor exempted from possibly getting a virus. As you have said, the Ukraine team experiences problems prior to the match that's why they probably had a hard time coping up while practicing. I guess it's really best for the players if they have upcoming events, to take care of their health, and be more cautious to avoid problems like this, especially there's still a pandemic.

This pandemic is really affecting us in various ways, even sports betting.
433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is Addictive...Pay Attention to your Gambling Habit!!! on: October 07, 2020, 05:10:31 PM

And that's where mostly the part addicted gamblers are stuck at, they can't move since they are always torn on what to do to end their misery.
That's really the common struggles or reason why gamblers are getting addicted, it's because they are stuck with their losses and can't accept it. Giving their own selves a false hope thinking that by gambling, even more, they can earn back the money they lost which is not really happening in most cases. The more gamblers think/aim of getting back all of their losses, it becomes harder for them to accept it that leads to addiction.
434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Vietnam bursts an illegal casino who used to handle bets worth $3 billions on: October 07, 2020, 04:12:58 PM
I am sure the corrupt officials will be in many countries because it can not end. As long as they are greedy to chase more money instead of their income, the corrupt will be like that. There will still be honest officials who always try to do their best to catch the illegal casino and other things because they realize they must do that before the illegal things spread in all cities. If the honest officials can be like that, I am sure the illegal casino will worry, including the corrupt officials behind that illegal casino.

Illegal businesses can't run without political patronage. Because there will be competition between the businesses and one group will always try to take out the other (and vice versa). If you don't have any powerful people supporting you, then you won't be protected from the raids and the business will be closed down. This happens mostly in the developing nations, where large number politicians are corrupt.
Some people get so greedy when they experience having power that's why it's really inevitable to have a clean government without any corruption happening. Like what you said, it's common in developing nation, and I can really say that even here in my country, you'll really see news having illegal activities such as gambling that is backed by government officials that's why they are brave to operate because they know someone is protecting them.
435  Economy / Economics / Re: People lose Faith and Hope for banking and tradional markets on: October 07, 2020, 02:56:04 PM

Our new Banks Will be Cryptocurrency Exchangers like binance!

Many People Around world are taking out money from the Banks and out of the tradinational markets They are scared becouse one day it might be too late so They Will invest in Bitcoin  now becouse Bitcoin is not depend on government or Banks There is Bad situation and Now People want to Get on BTC Before its too late.
Yes, there are flaws in traditional banking but I'm just wondering how sure are you op that that's the reason why they are taking out their money? Because for me, the most possible reason is due to the pandemic, that they need to spend money on their expenses. Also, even with people losing trust in the current banking system, the majority is still depending on them. I just hope that like what you've said, more people will realize bitcoin and start adopting it.

And as for what you said that Bitcoin will hit 100k if you have strong evidence, might want to share it with us?
436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BEWARE OF THESE SCAMS!! on: October 07, 2020, 02:09:26 PM
It is the hype that makes people drool over Defi, but the reality is some of it does not even have a value. Our goal as an investor is to ensure the safety and income of our investment. With the huge quantity of scams, we can't just be reckless in carrying out decisions on where we should invest our funds. We should carefully check if the project presents obvious red flags to determine if it's worth to risk. We should really be aware of these scams, especially that many of us are still interested in it.
437  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto Scams & Our Roles. on: October 07, 2020, 12:17:56 PM
People who can't deal with their own greed are vulnerable to get fooled. Some of them are too thirsty for money but do not want to come up with their own way and strategy to achieve it. So instead, they join a fake giveaway where they must first withdraw money before obtaining the actual reward. It sounds silly, but the reality is many people still think it will be easy money. At long last, it just caused an adverse effect on their assets.
438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question: Is there any websites where I can gamble crypto under 18? on: October 06, 2020, 07:09:50 PM
The age requirement is one thing that is very important and when it comes to online gambling, Anyone who wants to gamble has to be atleast 18 years older to sign up. So you won't be able to gamble under 18.

This is the case for the gambling site out there, where you need to confirm whether you are at the right age or not. In some cases, you can just click the agree button even though you are not 18 years old which is not right because if you get caught there will be a huge problem with that. Some people ignore that first step and proceed to play even though they are not yet at the right age to play and the problem will begin when those kids got caught by their parents and put all the blame on the gambling site.
Well, it's easy for them to gamble underage especially when it does not require KYC but they still don't promote underage gambling that's why if minors still proceed in gambling, it's their own responsibilities when they get caught and if they get so into gambling at a young age.

Since you have mentioned it, I don't like it when parents tend to blame gambling sites for their own irresponsibility. Parents should be the one to monitor their children, and not to put the blame on others.

439  Economy / Economics / Re: I lost my job, how about you guys? on: October 06, 2020, 04:11:29 PM
It's indeed a sad situation for everyone because the pandemic is affecting all of us. Unemployment is increasing, as well as businesses that are failing due to lack of operations and income. Everyone is having a hard time making adjustments in our daily living just to avoid getting infected by the virus, but since we also need to survive financially, we really need to find alternative sources of income.

For me, I don't have a job yet but we are also affected by the pandemic because my father who is working for us, does not have a stable job for now because of the ongoing quarantine. Now, crypto is a big help for me to find a source of income to survive while almost everyone is struggling.
440  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Adoption - Climate Change - Internet Access on: October 06, 2020, 02:46:15 PM
Is there really a need to get rid of fiat? No. We all know that that would be hard and bitcoin adoption does not really mean to replace fiat with bitcoin. Crypto is an alternative to find solutions to problems in the current financial system but it also has its weaknesses that fiat can provide that's why instead of thinking of full adoption or totally replacing fiat, they can just work together. And just like how hard we campaign against climate change, we will still continue to use/overuse natural resources because that's an effect of continuously developing things for an easier lifestyle of humans.
