901  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Poll - How did you obtain your first BTC / satoshis? on: June 18, 2020, 09:07:38 AM
I can see most answers here are through the faucet, but mine is different since I got mine through peer-to-peer trade. Well, there's no much story behind it but since a friend of mine is the one who introduced bitcoin and cryptocurrency to me, I obtain my first bitcoin through him. He taught me some basic things I need to know about crypto and blockchain and I research it to be more familiarized. Then one day, we had a small conversation and that's when I got my first bitcoin. Though it's not a big amount of BTC since it's my first time. But after gaining much interest and some basic knowledge, I started buying more BTC using coins.ph, after that, I can't clearly remember everything but after a year, now I am here.
902  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Top 5 most profitable coins of this year on: June 18, 2020, 07:21:55 AM
There are still lots of very strong growth alts and helped me make a lot of money during these hard times. Zilliqa is one of the strongest growth alts in the past 2 months. My account has been x3 since news of Ziliqa's innovation came out. You can refer to Zil, Band and Link. Those are very great alts to buy and hold.
I invested in Zil and it already gives me some profit on the previous days and as of now the price of this coin seems will go down again so maybe it's a good sign for me to buy back and invested a lot of money. Then, on the past of days, I have seen the rapid growth in the price of Kyber like from 0.6-0.9$$ in the last few days it's now around 1.17$ and I have been watching this altcoin because I'm also planning to invest in it. Maybe, If I'm going allot more money on these altcoins probably, I will only do short-term investment but in the end, we should do prior research before investing in other altcoins.
903  Economy / Economics / Re: What brings economy of a country down. on: June 18, 2020, 06:38:10 AM
Economic diversification is indeed important for a country's economic growth and development because it makes them flexible over the products they produce and export but for poor countries, they often struggle with diversification. Poor countries or other developing countries find it hard to diversify since they often depend on a single or primary commodity that they have. Instead of trying to give opportunities to other sectors, since they lack resources and other things, they tend to only focus on what product they are rich at.

But if I'm not mistaken, other countries we are able to diversify on the main mineral product they export by innovating and developing the quality of their products which allows them to improve their trade sectors. So I think even with lesser commodities, countries can still diversify and improve their economic growth, it's just a matter of managing and maximizing the resources they have. They can't just depend on a single sector when they can develop or improve other sectors as well, for long-term and stable economic growth.

905  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: newbie where do you see yourself in 5years? on: June 17, 2020, 03:02:19 PM
Why do I think that it's hard to imagine yourself in the next  5 years, especially for beginners here in crypto? I was here for almost 2 years and when I was still a beginner, I never imagined I'll be staying for this long and be active here in the forum. Even until now, I have no idea what will happen in the next 3 years. What I do is I will set a short term goal and if I were able to achieve that, I will make another goal.

Answering the question of where do you see yourself in 5 years, we will most likely think of positive and successful things in our mind which are our goals, but during the process, we will also experience difficulties and problems. And personally, I have not thought of that even before because I don't set a long term goal here in the forum because my long term goal is a general goal which is about gaining knowledge about crypto that I can use in the future.

907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble right after coronavirus outbreaks? on: June 17, 2020, 12:27:17 PM
To be honest I really don't want to leave the comfort of my home even if the government says it is ok to go out. I mean there are many people afraid to go out because of one word - Asymptomatic. Yes that word scares even the most courageous of folks. You will never know what will happen to you if you happen to get the sickness. So no, I will not go back to the casinos even if they say it is safe. Give me the vaccine first and then I'll go.
Looking at the current situation, we are still far from seeing the end of the pandemic and there is a higher possibility that casinos will open regardless if there's still the virus. I'm not sure if some casinos in other countries reopened but in my country, they are already planning to reopen land-based casinos. And it's more dangerous because we all know it's still not safe. I think it's kinda impossible to have a vaccine within the year so are you fine spending a year without going to any casino?

Nope.

I'm not gambling in a physical casino but in an online casino is where I'm gambling but if there is a nearby casino here in my place, I will still not gamble. I love gambling and I'm happy playing on it even most of the time I'm losing but I don't want to risk my life into something like gambling.

I know that this isn't the case for some of the gamblers out there especially the ones who are addicted. This is the scenarios that I see for them.
1. Either they are hooked up in gambling online and when the out break will end, they will just play on their home instead of a physical casino. OR
2. Gamblers will go straight away in an casino just to play.
I feel like gambling addicts would go for number 2 because they won't get the same feeling and excitement they used to feel when gambling in a casino compared to online gambling so they might not get satisfied and would rather risk their lives just to satisfy their desire.
908  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What future is expected for new altcoins? on: June 17, 2020, 10:26:34 AM
Most of the new altcoins/projects in the markets are worthless and they don't even have any potential to succeed. But, I know there are still new altcoins that are good and worth it to invest. It seems all the projects that you provided are sh*tcoin and they can even call scam projects because you already stated that they most likely to steal people's money. Nowadays, it's hard to trust new projects because there's a tendency that they end up on being scam projects, and that's why we need to be good at classifying the good and scam project so we can avoid losing money.

We should be wise on choosing new projects and don't just easily believe in the things that you have seen and always do proper research, especially if you are going to invest your money in the new projects. I won't trust the project on the list and they don't even have team members on their website. Probably, we need to avoid those kinds of projects.
909  Other / Meta / Re: Don't give up on the Noob you encounter on the forum, help them BUIDL. on: June 17, 2020, 09:51:50 AM
Congratulations on achieving Legendary rank, I think it's well-deserved. Everyone started with nothing or lesser knowledge but with continuously changing and improving, you can accomplish things you did not expect you could achieve. And I also liked how you view what LoyceV said to you in a good way and used it to thrive more. Usually, when newbies get criticized or something, they get discouraged to give their best, but for you, you manage to reach that rank because of your effort.

I also think that most of us went from getting criticized with the way we post before but eventually improved, so it's not a reason to give up because, for me, that's also one thing you will learn here in the forum aside from technical knowledge. We will also learn to accept corrections and to change it to improve ourselves.
910  Economy / Economics / Re: Current Food Shortage and Economic Decline Caused by Pandemic on: June 17, 2020, 09:12:00 AM
In my country, we don't experience food shortage because essential businesses are still operating, but the problem is the financial capability to buy essential goods. What our local government did was to provide food for families like rice and canned goods. However, it's still not enough so other sectors gave financial aid to poor people and even if they keep saying it's not enough, I think there's also a limitation because everyone can't just keep on asking for help to the government, they are also responsible to feed themselves.

Finding a solution for this pandemic is difficult, that's why if you are fortunate enough, you can help by donating to people who need help. But if you can't, you can start by helping yourself and find something to do so you can earn even though there is a pandemic. Also, bitcoin can't be that big help for everyone, some can use it for digital payment without the use of paper money than can also bring bacteria but bitcoin and digital currency are not accessible for everyone. It may be helpful for others, but not one of the primary factors that can help everyone in this pandemic.
911  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [UPDATED]Watchlist for Active Filipino Posters/Campaigners on: June 17, 2020, 08:28:11 AM
~snip
Btw, Thank you @acroman08, I will add them right away.

Smiley Stay Positive Po!

Edit:
I already added all users that @acroman08 given.
912  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the cause of economy rise and fall. on: June 16, 2020, 01:45:47 PM
Well, it depends on the performance of the economy but of course, there's a lot of factors that affect the economy. I agree with the government because they are the ones controlling most factors that affect the economy such as businesses, laws, policies, and more. If the government knows how to run the country, the economy will be in a good position but if corrupt officials will lead the economy then nothing will happen and the people's money will only go to their own pockets.

One thing I can also add is technology. We all know that we are in the fourth industrial revolution which technology is changing our way of living by making things easier and convenient with the use of technology. With the help of technology, a country or government can maximize its use to improve its economy in many possible ways because today we are mostly relying on technology and advancement. Look at the countries with advanced technology, their economy is mostly doing well while those who lack technological advances were behind.
913  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos Decoded : on: June 16, 2020, 08:50:19 AM
I'm kinda familiar with the other things you have mentioned, and thanks for providing these facts here. But obviously, casinos are doing this to earn more revenue from its customers and it's not that surprising that they have this strategy. Of course, they have to show that they are providing a good service to satisfy customers because that's one thing to attract customers to keep going back.

Aside from providing a good service, they also consider the environment because that's one of the factors that customers are looking for. No wonder why a lot of gamblers prefer physical casinos than online because of the experience they can get in casinos, but little did they know, it's just the casino's way to make their customers spend more time and money.
914  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Safe with bitcoin? on: June 16, 2020, 07:36:04 AM
It's indeed a good idea to maximize the use of cryptocurrency especially in a crisis like this where the virus can't be seen but when we say online transactions, there are other options other than crypto and I think that's what people are trying to adapt first before crypto. I have seen in my country that a lot of people are already selling and buying things online, but they still use fiat in paying because for them that's more convenient which I totally understand as well.

But we can also use this opportunity to start teaching friends and family about crypto and spread awareness about this innovation because it will be a big help today and even in the future. It's difficult for people to adapt to changes that easy, even if we use crypto for payment transactions, not every seller can understand crypto that easily.
915  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ethereum investment for future ?? on: June 16, 2020, 06:54:15 AM
Yes, check the news, the price of Ethereum already changed almost 100% only this year and more changes coming price will go 3x or more until the end of this year, ETH can be the best crypto of 2020 easy.
But still, bitcoin is the best investment in crypto Grin
You got it! I will definitely agree with this one. No doubt that bitcoin will remain the best cryptocurrencies investment for the next few years. For me, Ethereum is also a good cryptocurrency investment, and it is also part of my portfolio but not in a big portion. We have seen the slow increase in the price of Ethereum and it seems it's striving to go back to its ATH price in the market which is around 1400$. Many of us are now waiting on their big update and I know it can somehow change the price of Ethereum on the market. I'm totally sure that Ethereum will really become part of the best cryptocurrency for this year 2020.

Btw, Do you think after its update it will really climb up to 1000$? or it can somehow hit 300$-500$?
916  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online casino searches at "all time high" during lockdown on: June 16, 2020, 06:18:45 AM
I think this is not a very abnormal thing.  Especially during the quarantine period, not only gambler people but also people who were bored and wanted to spend time wanted to access such sites.  In addition, during this process, people preferred to gamble online and learned that they can actually gamble at home and go to casinos to gamble.  In this case, it will surely make such sites more popular and cause casinos to reach less customer potential.
But I think this sudden attention for online gambling by new gamblers won't last that much because knowing how long this quarantine will take, some gamblers will sooner understand that they should spend their money wisely. During the first phase of lockdown, it isn't surprising because they are bored but after some more months without a stable job, they will need to allocate their funds for daily expenses so only gamblers with the extra fund can still gamble even after months of quarantine.

And once land-based casino starts reopening I think some gamblers will eventually shift from online going back to physical casinos.
917  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving economy at the cost of what? on: June 15, 2020, 03:26:22 PM
I think most governments have these two major options, it's either they continue strict lockdown and might result in an economic recession, or start reopening businesses to save the economy even with the risk and just implement a protocol. No matter what they pick, there is still a big consequence and it's hard to make a decision since it involved millions of people in a single country. As for your suggestion, unfortunately, those who badly need income, can't work from home because the nature of their job requires physical skills such as construction workers, drivers, janitors, and more.

In my place, if you're going to a grocery or other shops, you can't enter without wearing a mask. But I think it will be harsh to penalize someone without a mask because what if they can't afford it? Instead of implementing a penalty, if authorities can see people without a mask, they should give them a free mask and talk to them about the importance of wearing a mask.

It's difficult for the government to make a wise decision because there are many factors to be considered that's why we also need to start to be more careful about ourselves and the environment. Getting infected or not starts with you if you are being careful or not. It's not just about what the government is trying to save, we are also responsible for taking care of ourselves.
918  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Vaccine against Covid-19 should be made before sports events will take place? on: June 15, 2020, 02:25:50 PM
Although we are not found the vaccine yet, we have more precaution against Covid-19, so I think that can help people to keep survive in this pandemic. While the vaccine still being on research, the sports event can be restart, but with the requirement, the promoter needs to prepare everything before they allow people to visit the event place.
They will be strict for their audience if ever they want to proceed to their events.

Looking that many sports will come back in action but those are the noncontact sports probably. But for the contact sports, they will be having a hard time to resume.

That will definitely do by them to prevent more victim of COVID-19. I am sure they will strict for their audience. Meanwhile, people better not to come to that place, and stay at their home to watch the match. That will help the work of the paramedic or professional, so they don't have to get busy to check so many audiences that come to that place.
Even if some fans still decided to go to a sporting event, for sure that organizer and staff won't allow them to enter the said event because it will violate the protocols and it's hard to implement social distancing if the audience is allowed. Most probably that event organizer will just broadcast sports games online so fans can still watch the game.

But I think contact sports can still resume once the place is kinda safer with less positive cases of COVID. Once they made sure that athletes are safe and negative from any viruses, I think they can still resume contact sports because we can't just wait for the pandemic to cease before we can watch our favorite sports.
919  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The best time to buy is NOW!!!! on: June 15, 2020, 10:51:46 AM
When the market suddenly collapses, you will see a lot of bad news appearing in this market. I think one way or another, the market will go against people's minds, and you will have a hard time guessing what a good time to invest is.
Thsts why we need to analyze the market and have our own understanding about the movement so we can somehow predict the next price of the coins to know if its a good time to buy or not.
Actually, there's always a sudden collapse in the market and it always happens that's why we need to be careful about what coin we will invest our funds. Having good skills in analyzing the condition of the market will definitely help you to determine the movement of a certain coin. Probably, some people easily believe in what they read especially if the news about the market and for me, you will not have any problem in your mind if you were totally good at doing research and analysis about the condition of the market. Then, it's better to make your own research if this about entering in the market and take note, do not always rely on the news and signals that you have seen.

So far, it's quite good to buy an altcoin and hold it for the short term and right now, I'm currently scalping so I can somehow earn little profit. But, if someone has a plan to buy now it's better to learn how the market works so you can lessen your losses once you enter.
920  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: NEW MEMORANDUM OF BIR CIRCULAR NO. 60-2020 on: June 15, 2020, 09:37:51 AM

Kaya marami ang nagsisimula na magtinda online which is good nga kasi maparaan sila. Pano kung hindi ka naman mag fu-full time sa only selling at ginawa mo lang ito pansamantala dahil walang pagkakakitaan?
