That's fair enough I suppose. Thanks for the info.

Remember, those prices are still tentative. Could end up higher, hopefully not by much.

Yes, I realize those are just estimates now and exact pricing will not be known until you have them ready.

I think I speak for everyone when I say I'm excited to get these in my hands.

Most certainly. I've always wanted another pod type miner like the U3. I know they will look different but always been a fan of USB miners.

Coinbase now operates in the U.K so I've read on their site.

Exchange, you mean USD to BTC?
Localbitcoins and coinbase are legitimate services so I don't think your details that you give them will be found somewhere else unless their system gets hijacked and someone steals it.

Im in the UK but yea looking to buy btc. Coinbase seems better than localbitcoins but just after personal experiences as Ive never used an exchange, just the forum.

Hi everyone,

Don't delve into many parts of the forum but feel the need to ask for some advice in this section. Buying btc from people of the forum has become troublesome due to the high number of scammers.

So I'm looking at using an exchange of some sort. I've tried localbitcoins but not a fan of sharing my ID with each trader so I'm looking at coinbase.

Has anyone got dealings with them personally? Does the ID you share with them just stay with them or get shown to people you exchange with?

Have any of you guys got any suggestions of a legitimate exchange that's not going to scam me or sell my bank details etc?

Thanks.

1948  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: I can't login to my antminer on: December 04, 2016, 04:59:34 PM
The S9 is set to DHCP as a default. You will need to run IPScanner or similar program to find what address the S9 is using. Then just log into it.

192.168.1.33 is what bitmain used to set the old S3 miners to. It's not the case anymore.
1949  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Have $20 bitcoin, need paypal. Trusted members only on: December 04, 2016, 07:33:37 AM
I can do this for you at 1:1 rate. Send the btc to my address starting "1GTADDict" and PM me your PayPal address and what currency you would like it sent in (USD,eur, gbp) and I will send it as a gift/family and friends.

Thanks.
1950  Economy / Currency exchange / (W) BTC (H) PayPal ***Trusted Safe Exchange*** on: December 03, 2016, 01:37:07 PM
Hi guys,

I would like to buy some btc with PayPal from my verified account. I know the risks for the seller of the btc and if they check my feedback they can see I deal only in PayPal and have had many successful trades so please don't comment about the risks.

I willing to pay 10% more PayPal than I receive in btc.

I will only deal with trusted members with 10+ trust rating so please don't waste anyone's time if you are below that.

Thank you.

The universe gave you fingers so you could type your question.

The forum provided pages of information and a SEARCH button so you can find the answers you seek   Wink

It's only 15 pages. Skim read it.

What's the shipping cost to the UK (just out of curiousity) for both or is it included in the price?
1953  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Need $20 pp, have btc on: December 02, 2016, 05:41:02 PM

I can do this. I'm from the UK so deal in GBP already.
1955  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: December 02, 2016, 11:03:38 AM
Any info on how to import those to EU without paying VAT and customs fee ? (can double the price of HW in my country...)

You can try www.eastshore.xyz who sell bitmain gear. HagssFIN has bought three from them and they declare customs value at $90 so save on some fees.

Or buy from a member on here and ask to declare less value. Otherwise as you say you'll be stung massively for customs duty etc. I'm from the UK so looked into it a fair bit.
1956  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: December 02, 2016, 06:26:33 AM
Is this confirmed or just a troll?

I would be quite excited as I do want to have a R4 for fun at the moment.

Got an email from Bitmain. New batch of R4 will be available on the 2nd December 11pm Beijing Time.

Yea my comments and trust rating really show that I actively troll on the forum  Roll Eyes
1957  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: How much do you guys make off of mining? on: December 02, 2016, 06:23:53 AM
I make approximately £25 per month profit (after electricity has been paid) out of ONE Antminer S9.

BUT that's does not include the cost of the miner itself if I were to take into account the cost of the miner too (£1000) then I would be making a Return On Investment (ROI) in approximately 40 YEARS !!!!!

So if anyone comes on here and says they make loads of money out of a few miners they are not telling the whole truth as to actually be making a real profit the cost of the equipment (miners) must be factored in.

Good thing I only do it as a hobby  Cheesy

Your electric cost is bloody high - I've crunched the numbers on those and I can make ballpark $180 a month (right now, will drop over time as diff increases) from one of the 11TH S9 batch miners, somewhat more from the higher hashrate ones.

ASSUMING it works reliably - which is my issue with the S9, I do NOT like the reliability figures I've seen about it to date, coupled with it's still overpriced due to ZERO real competition.

Yea my electricity cost is £0.13 per kWh. I'm crossing my fingers for my S9 in relation to reliability. I'm hoping the fact it's heavily underclocked will help.
1958  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: December 01, 2016, 08:39:59 PM
My S9 is not more noisy than an S3 at the moment. Plus heat output is great as it saves on heating at this time of year.

You're saying the S9 is about the same noise level as an S3?? Or your under-clocked S9 is similar to S3?

My underclocked S9 Wink

Its running 4Th in ambient/room temps of 20c. Fans are 1680rpm and 2400rpm (back one is a different fan to front but will be changed to the same as the frpnt fan to get the rpm down). Board temps are 45-47c and chip temps are 75-78c.

Its no nosier than the standard clock S3's I had. Its currently under my desk  Cheesy
