2401  Other / Meta / Re: How recognized are you in the bitcointalk world? on: January 12, 2019, 07:15:08 AM
I said to my lesbian friend "I wanna watch" and she got me a fitbit for xmas.  Sad

I can't stop laughing at this.

My guess is the New Year's resolution was to practice your enunciation for this years ask. Good luck
2402  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: (Review/Guide) WhatsMiner M10 33.0 Th/s, 2145W Bitcoin (SHA-256) ASIC miner on: January 12, 2019, 05:25:49 AM
Well I'm pumped. I have 2 of the 31 TH models confirmed on order, I guess shipping out early next week.

I'm hoping I have these before I leave town for a bit, anyone know how long their shipping was from Pangolin to North America?

Side note while asking questions about the 2 models I was told this was the reason for the different hashrate. It was just the different chip batches they had ordered that resulted in the improvements.
2403  Other / Meta / Re: Escrows and forgotten sections on: January 12, 2019, 04:52:10 AM
You are trying to bridge very different ideas with your thread.

1st part - The term for these escrows is "Forum Trusted Escrow" hopefully that clears up the need for naming them. The reason they are used and the term is what I find floating in the Marketplace is because they have longevity, and a proven trackrecord for providing trustworthy escrow services.

Now the truth of that is it means nothing if 1 day one of them decides to take the funds and run, exit scams have happened. It was before my time afaik.

I point that out as people still need to pay attention to what they are doing and who they are trusting with their funds. This is because the forum doesn't moderate scams, because it involves a lot of resources and time; not to mention what you perceive as a scam may be legitimate business elsewhere. So due diligence is everyones responsibility.

Now your point of making people do this or that really flies in the face of less regulations within the forum. It is already widely accepted as the way business is done here to use escrow. All you can do is make a point of asking about it when it would be necessary, or not trading without it. You may want to look through a couple of these topics.

Prevention is better than a cure. Please escrow. This is stickied in the marketplace goods section.

[WTS] Posting guidelines for physical goods This was a topic I made, when I was probably feeling similar to yourself.

2nd Part- This problem is solved by using the report button. I get it's there's really not much fun involved it's repetitive and not overly rewarding (unless you take satisfaction in it). Unfortunately that's all that can be done for that problem, but it can bring about a great change. This can show that more moderators are needed by showing the hard facts of how many posts need to be moderated daily.

No need for more sections unless you are trying to enlist people to join you on a reporting campaign. It may be inline with what they are doing in the Spambusters thread.
2404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: received 500 free satoshi? on: January 12, 2019, 04:32:15 AM
Are you sure you didn't just sign up with their service or something?

I wouldn't be surprised if this was some form of welcome bonus, or may could just be an attempt at promotion by OP.

I'm not going to lie, I wouldn't think twice about finding or seeing this show up in a wallet.
2405  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Group buy Whatsminer M10 USD 885/set on: January 12, 2019, 04:18:11 AM
So I see some red flag here.

This is your first post in over a year, at least it is still somewhat inline with your previous posting history. Your password was also recently changed.

Now for the miners, anyone currently looking can buy these models from Pangolin for 799USD, and I believe they even give you a promo code for a slight discount. There are 2 models available. 1 model is more expensive.

Perhaps you are a legit representative, and your company provides these services. You should maintain a service thread to promote all aspects of your business. This way you can use this board for specifically for the hardware you are selling. That's just my opninion.

You are fine to post the product here, but you should also post images and payment information for that product. Then feel free to promote and link to your service thread.

If you check out kano.is the pool hashrate is fluctuating you can see it in the top left corner.

If you log in you can check out your reward and see what the pool hashrate was for the purpose of that reward.

The pool n hashrate was 128 PH, we've had a large miner failing over, to our advantage I'd say, especially that good old triple day.

The only thing better than this morning block is kano having to use  50- 400 as a definition of pool hashrate  Grin

Was this another failover block? Man those are sweet.
2408  Economy / Reputation / Re: TECHSAHRE Calls Flying Hellfish a Rapist on: January 10, 2019, 03:21:56 AM
I cant remember where I read this about edits.

If it's edited in the first 5 minutes or something like that it doesn't get the dots indicating the post has been edited.

I dont have time atm to go through it all but i can say with confidence had there been a straight up attempt at deception Techshare would have raised the alarm.

Our rep will provide duty free shipments under the de minimus value.

Thanks for the info. Just being a curious Canadian checking how things have been collected.

Not sure you guys can help me out to much up here.

Regardless think I've made my mind up. No more distractions or I might miss out.

Phil do these get hit with the tarrifs in the US?

I almost pulled the trigger but I'm trying to see if I can wrangle a great deal on the something else by finding a coupon.
2411  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: January 09, 2019, 09:49:43 PM
Vrobb I'm sure they're sticky on this, the largest coupon you can use for this batch of s15 is a 240$.

I only know because at that price I've been on the hunt for real, and cheap coupons.

Dang, I knew I should had wait a bit.

Damn, I hate when that happens. Email them and maybe they'll throw you a bone, probably in coupon form.
2412  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Selling bitmain coupons on: January 09, 2019, 04:38:01 PM
I am currently looking for 240$ coupons.

Do you have any of these available? I prefer using the forum to communicate.

I would want to use forum escrow or you send first. Either way is fine by me
2413  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: TRIPLE-1, Inc. 株式会社 松島 KAMIKAZE 7nm SHA-256 ASIC on: January 09, 2019, 04:20:53 PM
This is the same info they have been responding with for months.

The fact now is that the s15 has been delivered to the public and is on spec. So they would now be up against hardware that is available and in the market, if they launch now they need to be priced below the s15, and prove their specs.

That or hold the equipment and hope for another large run up and a hardware shortage.

Either way I've given up on this company.
2414  Economy / Digital goods / [ISO] Bitmain 240$ Coupon on: January 09, 2019, 03:26:08 PM
Like the title says. I'm looking for 1 or 2 240 $ coupon.

I'm just weighing my options on potential hardware purchases. Let me know if you have any to sell or donate.
2415  Economy / Reputation / Re: Vod, what's with "bozo"? :D on: January 08, 2019, 07:45:32 PM
The short story would be Bozo=Clown   Edit: Here's the clown I've always based it on.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bozo_the_Clown

It is one of the cleaner insults I've learned throughout life. Generally learned by many northerners by grade1, to really let the other guy have it when they steal your Maple Candy.

Easily substitutes in for Dummy, Shithead, Douchebag, Shitposter

Or are you trying to hide the gang association by not using it? Sneaky

Hey tim

Your thread is here. I found it by checking your profile, then following the link to your recent topics, it's located under your profile info.

If your mostly interested in a discussion around their custom boost claims, I would try mining speculation.

This way you can talk solely to how it affects your S9 mining BTC. I'm guessing it got moved because if the mention of the alt coins.

2417  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint T1 16TH/S halongmining.com on: January 08, 2019, 12:59:27 AM
Seems poetic that the Dragonmint thread would decline into a shitshow similar to it's humble beginnings.

I can confirm that my faulty parts were fixed while under warranty.

Just wondering for clarification who handled the warranty repair of your miner? What was the issue if you don't mind sharing?

Since Halong is no longer selling new miners, I figured I'd move along to shill the next company. Who knows... maybe in a few months I'll be shilling BCH! Wink

The phrasing of this post has always bothered me. I am fine with promoting, upselling, and marketing. Shilling involves a willful ignorance of what is going on, and a failure to accurately convey that to the customers or public. That post was grabbed from elsewhere obviously but it showed you were done with Halong and moving on down the road. As a courtesy to your customers, you may have come by and updated the thread to inform people that Halong was dead, or to clarify some of the behind the scenes issues for customers, such as QuestionQuest.

[...]

Few points of clarification. I personally feel you should create a new account, such as MyRigsupport, to avoid any confusion. If I'm not mistaken people assume they are dealing with Yoshi when they address you.

Secondly, really great to announce these issues with Dragonmint hardware now. If problems had become apparent months ago, why wasn't this all shared with everybody. Either way this has turned into more of a reputation and service issue.

This is my suggestion to both of your accounts go create a reputation thread so that you can air out the issues of each side and provide some clarity to people who may want to deal with either of you in the future.

Edit: Here is a thread in Scam accusations -> Investigations.   https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5094375.0.

Those numbers are great for a real world application.

Done waiting around to see what Canaan puts out for an 941 type model. I've been holding off on pulling the trigger, but I might grab 1 or 2 of these bad boys. Try to get them in the house and ROI quickly.

Turkey soup it is.  Mine on folks.

2420  Economy / Reputation / Re: Poll: is it OK to send merits to your own alts? on: January 05, 2019, 03:35:48 AM
Not cool in any way shape or form.

Sorta like laughing at your own jokes, but more severe a faux pas like socks with sandals.

There is no valid or legitimate reason to be meriting yourself. The only persons doing so would be account farmers here to bleed SIG and bounty earnings.

The other idea is theh are trying to pad the merit marketplace and hoping that their alts won't be traced back to them.

Really just another tale as old as time, account farmer meets roadblock finds shady path around roadblock, gets tagged.
