2401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Akaho - December 3 on: October 25, 2022, 11:36:18 AM
Wow! I didn't know Ryo Akaho is now promoted by a Korean. Ryo Akaho is already 36 years old but he is not to be taken for granted by the inactive and moving up in weight Johnreil Casimero. And the venue might be neutral but it is still Akaho's promoter staging the event. Akaho is also on a 13 fight win streak. I think Casimero is undersized at 122. He may be able to beat Akaho but he will be an underdog to the WBA/IBF champion Morudjon Akhmadaliev and WBO/WBC champion Stephen Fulton. But it is good that Casimero is back, I hope he stays focus and win in an impressive fashion in order to generate a good ranking in his new division.
2402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Survey] Do you still play or stop the game? on: October 25, 2022, 10:26:20 AM
If I doubled my money in just a couple of bets I would absolutely continue to play. I usually play because I want to entertain myself. I will follow at least half of the planned time for me to play in order to at least protect my gains. And nowadays I don't gamble big amounts unlike before the COVID pandemic, so doubling my money is not much for me. Maybe a few hundred dollars of profit would make me think of stopping or at least making a limit on my next bets so I can still take home some profits.

So for me, what matters is my playing time and the amount of the gain.
2403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Early Is It Now, For Those Who Missed Bitcoin In Its Early Days? on: October 25, 2022, 09:28:40 AM
Most people want to become rich as quickly as possible. And most of these people can easily get scammed especially if they have limited knowledge. There is no easy money and there are no shortcuts. People that became millionaires from Bitcoin earned it. It may look easy but it is not really easy. Those people are equipped with knowledge, iron hearts, strong beliefs, and luck. I also dreamed of becoming a millionaire. But how many of us here continue to hold when your half a million dollars turned $60k? It's easy to say but when you're in that situation it is hard as hell. I learned the hard way. So for me, there is no such thing as late because it always depends on us if we are ready for it.

As for altcoins, it's always the bigger the risks, the bigger the rewards. Maybe OP's brother can diversify his money. And only invest money you can afford to lose.

Fasten Your Seat Belt Bitcoin Roller Coaster Ride is Going To Start for 2022

I am looking the charts of bitcoin to make some trade on it and found a historical turning point on it what you guys are thinking about it check and leave your opinions.

https://youtube.com/shorts/tycNLzRi44o?feature=share

Thanks  Smiley Smiley

Your short video should've been better if you also showed us the prices or the price range on the right side of the chart. I remember these are the same exact months last 2018 when I was so worried and it destroyed my normal sleep. It's because I just had a contract to construct my house. So I ended up selling nearly all of my crypto holdings just to secure it. I would've been a dollar millionaire by now if I canceled the construction of the house I am living in right now.

Anyways, you are clearly referring to the cycle of Bitcoin. Not guaranteed but yes, Bitcoin will climb up again next year as most investors are expecting another all-time high in 2024 and 2025. Now is the perfect time to grind hard while Bitcoin is still down so we have the money to invest.
2405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 25, 2022, 05:09:33 AM
Probably should have thrown a few dollars down on the Chicago Bulls versus the Boston Celtics. The Bulls are coming off a pretty embarrassing loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers and while I certainly don’t think this team is destined to win any championships, they’re still a pretty good ball club. (Spread was +5.5 for them).

But it would've been easier if we were to bet on the Boston Celtics since they started strong early beating Miami Heat and the Philadelphia 76ers. This is unexpected as many thought this is free money for the Celtics bettors. What an odd result, the unbeaten and favored by the odds as the strongest team in the NBA just lost to a team embarrassed in their last game.

Cleveland Cavaliers has a decent line-up now with Donovan Mitchell running their offense. Pretty good starting line-up from 1 to 5 and they have decent bench players too. It all depends now on chemistry and see if they can match against last season's top teams.
2406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Education on: October 24, 2022, 10:18:24 AM
Yes, it is time for all schools to impart crypto knowledge to all schools like they are teaching finance and technology. In a fast-changing world, it is super necessary for students to learn what's new and what's old so they won't get stuck behind. Children are the future so they need to be exposed according to their gifts, skills, and interests. But somehow, basic finance and technology are also being taught in all courses and even at secondary levels. Bitcoin is part of finance and blockchain is part of technology and they will play important roles in the coming years. And who knows, the next biggest inventions are the mere enhancements of Bitcoin and its blockchain.
2407  Economy / Gambling / Re: Unpopular opinion about crypto gambling on: October 24, 2022, 09:56:24 AM
I always prefer non-KYC gambling sites, not because I want to stay away from taxation but it's because I always want to live a private life. But when it is necessary, I will submit myself to KYC. I understand that sometimes it is really needed and I am not scared of it since I am not doing something illegal.

Sometimes, we always think about our own privacies. But we also want to live in perfect harmony. But we do know that sometimes authorities need the information to deliver the peace we want and of course, they want to collect their taxes. Money laundering is rampant coming from different illegal activities like drugs, sex trades, kidnappings, robberies, and many more. So I can understand that these crypto gambling sites sometimes need our KYC, especially on big amounts.
2408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important are exchanges? on: October 24, 2022, 09:34:14 AM
Bitcoin can exist and survive without exchanges, no question about it. But I don't think the price of Bitcoin and its adoption will be at this current pace if not for the exchanges. These exchanges further advertised around the world the presence of a decentralized currency that is non-inflationary. Bitcoin and its blockchain is a revolutionary technology but its huge trading volume further convinced more people, companies, and governments that it's not just the technology they could copy but it proves that Bitcoin has value. The existence of local exchanges helped Bitcoin to become more accessible to many parts of the world.

I'm not saying that Bitcoin should be thankful for these exchanges because these exchanges should be the ones thankful for the creation of Bitcoin, as it provides them with opportunities.
2409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you get over a bad loss? on: October 24, 2022, 09:11:06 AM
That hurts. But I practice life with no regrets. What's done is done. When you lose something you cannot afford to lose, you have nothing but to move on. The first reaction would be to stay away and take a breather. Grab a beer or maybe socialize. And when emotions are getting better, you have to think deeply and make some realizations. Learn something from it to become a better person as a whole. It's not the end of the world.

Petr Yan VS Sean O'Malley ROUND 3 DECISION - LOST

For me, Petr Yan should have won this, this is another robbery for the judges of the UFC, Dana White should change those judges and don't let them judge anymore it was a clear victory for Petr Yan but it was a close fight that it shouldn't be a close fight at all given Petr Yan is the favorite and on a high ranking in this division, now that the judges have messed up again, and Petr Yan should be dominant of the fight but it was clear that it was really close, this is going to cost him a lot for losing to a rank 11 fighter, sad to say but maybe O'Malley is close in getting a title shot next,

Lol! It looks like Shame O'Malley escaped once again. The UFC project for the next Connor McGregor is still alive. It was somewhat close and Pink Poodle was leading the strikes but Yan did some takedowns and they should be given credit too. For me, Yan took rounds 1 and 2. Anyways, I really think that Yan is more effective in a 5-round fight. The UFC should probably make it 5 rounds for ranked 1 to 10 or 5 at the very least.

Is the winner of this fight given an automatic shot at the title? I don't think O'Malley can win against Sterling in a 5-rounder.
2411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: October 24, 2022, 05:56:10 AM
I think they are destined to fight, no matter how Inoue will evade Casimero, the time will come when he will have no option but to fight Casimero. If he really is a real champion, he should fight anyone who likes to challenge him as long as the fighter is eligible to fight. Casimero also has to make sure that he will not make stupid mistakes again so he will continue to be successful in this higher division.
Inoue is not really afraid of anyone on his division and I am sure that he will be willing to fight Casimero in the future if they are still in the same division, it is just that Casimero has made too many mistakes on his career as a boxer and his personal life that it has stopped at the moment any possibly to see the two of them going at each other with everything they have, but there is no need to be worried because sooner or later they will face each other.

Yes, I don't think Inoue is scared of Casimero. It's a shame their scheduled bout was canceled due to the pandemic. Inoue wants to become undisputed and would've met Casimero if the latter remained disciplined and determined to boxing. Although I disagree with the way Casimero was stripped of his WBO belt, I do admit that he did many wrong decisions including his personal life that ruined his championship reign. I am also starting to doubt his ability to win a 4th division belt at 122 due to his size. If he is disciplined and still determined, he should stay at 118 and make the weight.
2412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: October 21, 2022, 10:01:48 AM
My pick for tonight.

Los Angeles Lakers vs Los Angeles Clippers(-1,5) = First Quarter 1,86 odds

That's my bet tonight. I think Los Angeles Clippers will start well in the first quarter.

I can't say anything for Philadelphia vs Milwaukee, I'm not going to bet on these teams tonight.

Good luck guys.

Nice win. Although I find it odd betting on the first quarters especially when the season just started. But yes, you nailed it. The Lakers is now 0-2 while Clippers won their first game of the season with the return of Kawhi Leonard playing togeting with John Wall and PG-13. Interesting how far can the Clippers reach this season with their own trio.

So far I'm 0-2 this season. Tomorrow I will risk on the travelling teams of New Orleans and Chicago. They're both facing 1-0 teams too but I like what I am seeing especially the return of Zion Williamson and the improved Chicago Bulls line-up.

And of course Tundra won 2:0 against OG, to kill our tickets before they properly started. Did not watch this one cause it was in the middle of the night for me bit 2:0 is again quite unexpected for me.

Lower bracket is now full of top teams, will be interesting to see who survives.

Another wild day in SEA TI. Cheesy

All upsets were 2-0, with no mercy at all. Good thing I controlled myself from betting today because I felt like the trend continues. I just broke my curse after my Entity win over RNG yesterday. I hope Last Qualifier Liquid will make an upset too over Aster to complete a whole upper-bracket upset.

Wish granted, Team Liquid loses to Aster 2-0. The Upper bracket first round is now all sweep and favorite teams are now in the Lower bracket.

We still have EG vs Beastcoast and LGD vs Boom left for this day. I feel like I do not want to bet anymore because the upper bracket destroyed me already. I'll call it a day but if I am to bet on Beastcoast and Boom since it seems to be the trend in this TI. Upsets seems to dominate so I will not be surprised if the underdogs will win on the next matches.

Except for the match of RNG yesterday, it seems that the games are too quick. Is it because of the meta or the matches are totally mismatched?

I was looking at the comments and saw many bets on EG 2-0 or -1.5. So I was tempted to bet on EG but ML to make it safe. But damn! Another upset and not just a 2-1 but once again a 2-0. All games are 2-0 now with Team Spirit and EG out of the tournament. So, is LGD next to heading on to Changi airport? I am starting to get tempted to bet on Boom +1.5. Few minutes left, I just went on Boom +1.5. Cheesy

This is getting crazier. I haven't made a bet on Liquid yet as it seems like we're in for a day full of upsets. If LGD gets upset, I'm gonna make a bet on Gaimin and Entity as well.
2414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Double Unification Fights: Shields vs Marshall / Mayer vs Baumgardner on: October 21, 2022, 08:01:21 AM

This fight is closer than expected but it's safe to say Shields won. Marshall took rounds 5, 6, 9, and 10. Marshall should've started early as Shields was taking the early rounds quite easily. Scorecard based on the stats is 96-94 in favor of Shields.

Marshall seems surprised by the resistance, she used to fight low-level fighters when faced with a top-level fighter she cannot react properly, Claressa really knows how to win a fight, bring everything in the early rounds and establish the tempo of the fight, this is what happens when you have not fought a fighter who can offer resistance and this is the first time that Marshall faced tough opposition, Claressa claims that this is her toughest fight, but based on what the boxing world has seen its Marshall facing the toughest fight of her career.
Either Marshall started late or it took her 4 rounds before figuring out Shields. It's safe to say that both fighters faced the toughest fight of their careers.

Read a report and Mayer says she was robbed and  Baumgardner Knows That She Lost.

Quote
"I do believe I won strongly," Mayer said to Sky Sports. "I was very confident, my corner was confident, and you know my corner, my coach, he doesn't mess around and he tells me the truth.

https://www.boxingscene.com/mikaela-mayer-i-genuinely-believe-baumgardner-knows-she-lost--169801

As I have scored it, I favor Baumgardner winning her and I don't think that Mayer was robbed. Of course there are rounds that are very close, but the way I see it, Baumgardner has the edge with her jabs.

I think there is no rematch clause as Baumgardner will fight Hyun-Mi Choi, the WBA champion.
Absolutely not a robbery. Mayer was just upset about her defeat and a little bitter because there was bad blood between her and Baumgardner. She thought she won and many of us thought it was a close fight that could go either way until we saw the unbiased punch stats which favored Baumgardner too.

I already forgot but I think Baumgardner hugged Mayer and thanked her after the decision was announced. Mayer responded but her face and mind were still shocked by the result.

And this is what Baumgardner had to say,

Quote
“She doesn’t deserve a rematch. For me, I want Choi next,” Baumgardner clarified during the post-fight press conference. “This is what I planned on. This is what we talked about and this is what I plan to do.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/baumgardner-i-want-choi-next-what-i-planned-on-what-i-plan--169816

So there is a unification fight in the horizon here, but we will see if Choi is willing to be the next dance partner.
I hope Choi accepts the challenge in order to determine an undisputed champ in their division. It's not a bad offer since Baumgardner has 3 belts and the Ring while Choi has only 1 belt.
2415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 21, 2022, 05:49:14 AM
Fury vs Usyk have been postponed for next year if I'm not mistaken as Usyk said that he wanted to take a break. And then we have heard that Fury vs Joshua was also in the horizon, unfortunately the fight is also in a dead end.
Usyk wants to rest so he can heal properly physically from the fights he has been in this year already, we will see him in the ring again next year. Fury who is hungry for a fight and has been turned down by Anthony Joshua for that audience, will now fight Chisora for the third time who he has beaten twice before. Fury is in a high spirited mode and is promising a good fight, but since he wanted the Anthony Joshua challenge before which he didn't get heading to the fight with Usyk next year, his team should not want to be quick to see Chisora as a walk over. Chisora has lost twice already to Fury and knows exactly who he is getting into the ring with, he will not like to make it three times, and he was the winner in his last fight, maybe that's an indication that he has developed from the last time he was in the ring with Fury.

But that is not the fans wanted for Fury to face isn't it? we demand a Joshua fight and it seems that they are in the negotiation table, unfortunately, it bogged down, we don't know who stall it or what is the problem because that is going to be huge in Britain. Chisora is not on the top 5 for the Heavyweight, maybe it was just a keep busy fight for Fury so that he can either wait for Usyk if he wanted to make it next year, or continue with the battle of Britain with Joshua. There is also a WBC title eliminator that is ordered by Sulaiman next week between Wilder and Ruiz Jr.

Tyson Fury keeps talking a lot of nonsense. He demanded an Usyk fight but wanted it to happen this December which doesn't make sense as Usyk wanted to properly heal himself from his 12-round fight with AJ.

The Fury-AJ talks were just talks. Fury wanted to lure AJ into a fight and we know AJ is a warrior and will accept it. But we also know that AJ has a team behind him that will advise him to stop it since he just lost his last fight. Another obstacle is Matchroom and DAZN just renewed its contract with AJ and pretty sure it is not cheap. They won't throw millions of dollars only for AJ to get destroyed by Fury after his defeat to Usyk. Eddie Hearn will stage tune-up fights for AJ until they feel his confidence is back.

What's funny is Fury trash-talking AJ and Usyk while he is also under negotiations with undeserving heavyweights like Manuel Charr and Derrick Chisora whom he already beat twice easily. There are many good heavyweights in the ranks but Fury prefers to unleash his loud mouth telling the public he wants Usyk and AJ but in reality, he's cherry-picking his next fight. Why not challenge the WBO interim Joe Joyce whom he shares with the same promoter and who's nearly his size with a perfect 15-0-14 KOs record? That would be easy to make and it would fill a stadium in the UK for sure as Joyce is a British silver medalist Olympian.

The only team I might bet on today is Liquid if it losses to Aster. I felt like RNG could've won if they were in a room together with better communication. Entity nearly lost it many times and it took them nearly 2 hours to finally break RNG's base. But maybe that victory raised their morale for their games today. But I'm happy I watched it live online the longest DOTA 2 game in TI.

2417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 21, 2022, 04:43:50 AM
Heck of a game for the Bulls to start off the season with such a big win over one of the NBA's best teams, the Miami Heat.  DeMar DeRozan had one hell of a game, and picked things up right where he left them off from last year...

I want Miami Heat to win but I didn't follow my earlier plan to bet on them. Chicago Bulls upgraded their line-up this season with Andre Drummond and Goran Dragic while Miami Heat lost P.J. Tucker. And I also expect Nikola Vucevic to bounce back strong this season after his numbers dropped down last season. It will be exciting how Chicago fares this season. Last season they were someone strong but they failed to win most of the time against the top teams. Now they have 2 new veterans and Dragic is very experienced in playoff games which is the most important of all games.
2418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will digital dollar be a threat to bitcoin? on: October 20, 2022, 02:04:06 PM
Well, many CBDCs are already expected to launch. They are coming and it is normal because the world is turning digital. The digital dollar of the United States will be successful of course. But is this a threat to bitcoin? It is simple, the digital dollar is the same fiat inflationary centralized money while bitcoin is secure and decentralized. Maybe the question should be made the opposite because bitcoin is the real threat to this old centralized fiat system.

You can say that again. Bitcoin is really the threat of the digital dollar. Not the other way around. Governments (including the US) are afraid Bitcoin will take over the global economy, urging them to launch CBDCs of their own before they're left behind in the dust. I'd say they will succeed with the launch of the new digital cash system, but they will be unable to "defeat" Bitcoin because of its decentralized and censorship-resistant design.

In fact, I think CBDCs will be beneficial towards Bitcoin because they will increase awareness of digital currencies all around the world. People who haven't heard of or used crypto before, will get into Bitcoin when they hear paper money will be phased out of existence for good. Now the question would be whenever the USD will be able to retain its place as the reserve currency of the world right after it becomes a CBDC or fall all the way down the drain. If the US quickly launches its own CBDC system, then it's likely the US Dollar's position will remain unchanged. But be aware that China has already been the pioneer in CBDCs, launching the "Digital Yuan" before anyone else. It's a highly-competitive world out there, but at least we can be sure Bitcoin won't be going anywhere soon. Just my thoughts Grin

Right mate. Visa, Mastercard, and there's Paypal and the online industry is becoming a norm with stores like Amazon and eBay becoming huge but we haven't heard of any governments creating CBDCs. CBDCs only came up serious when Bitcoin and some of the top altcoins like Ethereum became big from millions to billions and then they just continue to grow bigger reaching into a trillion-dollar industry. Governments and banks tried to stop the growth of Bitcoin before but to no avail. Big companies are starting to realize the value and potential and they are also starting to adopt. So someone tells us if Bitcoin is not a threat to this old inflationary centralized monetary system? Grin

Bitcoin leads to the creation of CBDCs. And you're right mate, CBDCs can remain as primary currencies in this growing digital world but they also exposed their citizens to Bitcoin and crypto. Sooner or later, more and more people realized the importance of privacy and most especially the limited supply of Bitcoin compared to the unlimited fiat supply. The weakening of the US dollar's influence on the world market due to Chinese competition and the current arms race and mobilizations lead people to just select a decentralized currency like Bitcoin since it is not directly affected by politics.

Today one of the biggest matches happen between the Boom vs the Team Spirit, the boom manage to remove the former TI Champion in this game and they got easily drafted with this lifestealer game the SEA crowd right now in the hype to make another history in this game I guess EG will have a good time here because they are already secured in the upper bracket and give the chance to Boom to make another fight and of course the Boom shows that they well deserve to be part of the game, also right now one of the saddest story is the LGD goes down in the lower bracket.

What a game! And just like that, the defending champion Team Spirit got knocked out by Boom ESports in a BO1 match-up. That was crazy. It seems like the confidence of Boom were too high with a live audience noisy and cheering. Their hunger and eagerness were there as they showed brilliant displays of aggressiveness against the very dangerous Team Spirit.

Today is just another wild day in TI as heavy favorites EG and LGD got dropped to the lower bracket by TA and Secret.

RNG's 4 seats are occupied by teddy bears with only 1 of them present. I am betting on Entity. I think RNG will have a hard time communicating here, especially at very crucial moments late game.
2420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 20, 2022, 09:41:22 AM
Bantamweight: Petr Yan vs. Sean O’Malley

That’s the only fight I really care about or will watch. I’m really curious how it’s going to go. Yan looks like the better and stronger fighter, but when you watch his fights he doesn’t seem to have real knock out power when he lands good shots. Sean is the opposite. He doesn’t look like he could punch his way out of a wet paper bag, but when you watch him fight he knocks people out clean regularly. This is probably why they say Yan has fought much better opponents. I’m very curious how this is going to go.

How this will go? I am quite certain that in this fight we will witness many leg kicks from Petr Yan on Sean O'Malley's chicken legs hehe! There will also be Petr Yan's takedowns. I am a fan of O'Malley similar to that I am also a fan of Paddy the Baddy, however, do not be hyped by the UFC's marketing team hehehehe.

LOL at those chicken legs. I don't know what's on Sean O'Malley's head. But maybe he knows that his legs are too skinny and his slim body too will fold to powerful strikes once he is facing top opposition. If he losses this one badly, he should move up to featherweight and work on his legs and gain some muscles.

I bet on Yan but I hope he starts strong because the fight is only scheduled for 3 rounds. O'Malley might stay away, work on his jab, throw some kicks and wins a decision.
