Yeah, Jihan and I are best buds.

True story. They can be seen here celebrating the successes of Howeycoins.

For OP.

It's not that hard to figure out and follow the rules or you will be moderated accordingly. This forum is extremely lax in rules, and enforcement for most of them. You can see that in the response from theymos where you haven't been issued a ban but have been given a warning and an explanation.

Sounds like multiposting is your issue, if you realize you have more you want to say just learn to use the edit button, it's super easy.

2462  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Rumor that Bitmain is going belly up! can't pay its chip builder! on: December 15, 2018, 06:14:09 AM
Whether it "reeks of desperation" or not, those are pretty attractive 30 day ROI's they are offering.

There is definitely a few dollars to be made if things stay the same. Odds are that if they do sell most of what they want to the discount price will dry up, it doesn't look like they are planning longer term offers at those prices, so it's kind of a buy now or never. Which is just smart advertising,

"the clock is running out, these deals won't last forever, once their gone their gone"

My comment about desperation was a reflection on their need for cash in hand now. There are companies that thrive and plan to operate at losses such as Amazon, but this isn't one of those times. They screwed with the market to heavily, and the BCH issues going back to it's creation no less have put a strain on how much cash they can splash around.

They honestly had everything going for them, Market Share, Branding, Diversification - with pools and hardware as well as taping different Algos. I'm still not sure their predicament right now is due to paying for chips, I think it was a shear loss of capital in what they had from Crypto, which hits them doubly as sales have staled. Combine that with a reckless disregard for stability; and you have the current situation.
2463  Other / Meta / Re: Community generated suggestions to improve the forum (+ eventual voting on them) on: December 15, 2018, 05:38:44 AM
Just a heads up there is 1 big item being delivered.

This is a component of a comprehensive new set of recovery procedures which will be fully rolled out in the very near future (before the end of the year). This will allow recoveries to move forward at a reasonable pace again.

This had previously been mentioned that it would happen by the end of the year but, now we have confirmation closer to implementation. It's not huge for everyone, but this should help stifle the hacking of accounts to some extent, and through that a percentage of account sales in general.

There are still a ton of items to go, but this is progress. One upside to the recent downturn is that ideally things will slow down here a bit and maybe then we can try and get ahead of some of the other issues.
2464  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | 0.00075 BTC/post on: December 15, 2018, 05:16:53 AM
I'm going to be unavailable to do post counting on December 28/29

What.... Unacceptable, you're making the Pilot work.  Grin

Personally I'd be down with a double round, but I could see how this might be an annoying amount of posts to go through at once. I don't care to much either way so my vote goes to whatever suits you best.

Enjoy the trip, and I hope you're not trusting AC with your luggage.
2465  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Will btc difficulty go sideways for rest of the year? on: December 15, 2018, 05:09:50 AM
Are we looking at the same thing, or am I being stupid?

IF my sums are right, then the next question must be: why are a huge company essentially borrowing money at Payday Loan rates?

No you weren't being stupid at all. There is definitely the best chance at earning a profit from a cloud mining operation available there. At least for 1 month, and even then it isn't guaranteed as we've seen recently no one really knows where the bottom is ATM, or the direction of travel for price.

As has been shown the profit margin is thin - I see the maintenance costs as part of the initial investment as it is a predetermined cost and may be payable up front. For Bitmain though it is cash money in hand now, which may be more important than what you may have next month. That's especially true if as has been speculated here, they have plans to do something they are projecting will cause a price drop.

sure thing they wipeout hash nest and create bitdeer.

Re branding with discounted rates in the beginning is a good strategy to get people in the door.

... Looks like only a 6% drop in Diff Tuesday. Bitmain strikes again.

Yikes Hadn't checked in a couple days; when we were still double digits, either way down is down and I like that.

See I'm torn on what Bitmain and their cloud mining operations are doing to the network at the moment/near future. I don't pay much attention to cloud mining but seeing as they had been running hashnest, what impact are they really going to have with Bitdeer, apart from my thoughts on rebranding. It's just the same shit under a different name, unless it's a totally new facility and infrastructure in addition to previous facilities.

I would say the overall increase in hashrate that will come from Bitmain, is to run their own S15's, they can improve their overall efficiencies keeping their cost the same while increasing the hashrate. We all pay the price in Diff probably having found a floor of support, with low cost massive farms. I'm not sure what they are paying but I have heard crazy low numbers like .02/KWH.

2467  Economy / Securities / Re: LoyceV's Legendary 10 Month 10 Person 10 Altcoin Investment Roller Coaster #2 on: December 15, 2018, 03:44:58 AM
If you want you can next round go just with daily trading not holding.Holding is very unprofitable in this month and only daily trading, weeky trading and some short trades are profitable.

I hate this idea. While both strategies have risk, I feel day trading comes with significantly more due to the associated fees and timing. Not to mention the extreme load of extra work required, and I feel Loyce already does more than enough as it is.

That may be something a different group would be interested in, and that's up to them. Also there are some exchangers where you can buy litecoin ,monero or other coin for 10x smaller price then in coinmarketcap if you are lucky.

BS, I don't buy that info for even a second. No one is selling any coin with liquidity for 1/10 of it's value.

I think profit booking will be great system.

That does seem like an interesting strategy. I can't speak for Loyce but it doesn't really fit with this experiment in it's current form to randomly observe the market with a time locked investment. I would be interested to see/participate in an experiment following this strategy possibly.

How to reward the exceptional coin picker?
At the end of challenge, after selling NANO divide BTC into 11 equal part , Nano picker will get 2 parts of the BTC and rest will get 1 part each (total 9 parts).

This wouldn't really work as I feel that's a significant overreward for a 20% gain, they receive a nearly 80% increase in their take. There would also be the tracking headache - what if their original coin and the coin from the booked profits fails the next month, do they still keep the reward? The problem with extra rules/rewards is it comes with a headache sized amount of work.

In any case with a random group experiment; I see it as an "all 4 one and one 4 all" situation. Meaning everyone gets an equal share of the pot at the end.

2468  Other / Meta / Re: Does any of you people here consider Shitposting as an Art? on: December 15, 2018, 03:11:19 AM
No the shitpost in itself is just that something that should be dumped forgotten and possibly introduced into the Saint Lawrence river.

However if it were part of a collection, then maybe so. It would be the first step in someone transforming their identity from a steaming pile on a keyboard, to useful/helpful/knowledgable member while also being entertaining. I know it's asking a lot but it would need to be an extraordinary transformation to drag a shitpost into any form of art, and not a white whale I'm counting on.
2469  Other / Meta / Re: Am I allowed to copy/paste my own message to warn people for a scam? on: December 15, 2018, 02:58:09 AM
While xaolex is technically correct - which is "the best kind or correct", couldn't resist.

This does not apply to this situation IMO. You are clearly not doing this to bump your post count for payment, and if that is a concern you could PM the account manager and clear that up. I don't think you should need to as you said if you post your message and then report them, Mods should delete both, but to be sure mention your message in the report so it is cleared as well.

against the rules

common sense and human analysis should find it okay and almost worthy of merit

Agreed. If someone doing this were banned under Plagiarism, I would expect this to be the 3rd time I've seen such a Ban reversed, as the situation would warrant it.

In the end you could follow LoyceV's suggestion probably the best one, or for fun while you perform this service why not ad this to the bottom; feel free to tweak the wording

2470  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Are ASIC miners very noisy? I would like to buy... on: December 14, 2018, 07:00:11 PM
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4636521.0

That's a basic intro to mining thread that may help a bit.

As far as access to your miners if they are in your same home network you can access them.

If you set them up in a location further away that can not access your home network, then I think you have the right idea of having a PC, maybe even a pi set up so you can remote access in.

There are also some mine management programs you can use, I think this allows you to bypass the need for a pc/hmi  set up at the farm, but you do pay a bit for them.

I have not had to run a remote farm so this is not my forte.

HoweyCoins was able to GUARANTEE PROFIT using KYC, and every single person who invested in it is now a trillionaire. Why not Bitcoin?

Uggg stop rubbing it in I tried to buy howeycoins and they wouldn't take my money, just kept teaching me about scams.

The one who made this forum and the people behind probably will have a Merry Christmas and a Happy new Year.

I wonder who that one is, might even be nice if someone behind this forum appeared here; I'm sure you'd notice. Wish they hadn't used all their power to tank the market just to enjoy a holiday only like 35% of the population celebrates.

I dont see this putting to many miners back online. If it were in any way profitable for them to run the gear then they would do it themselves. Then there's the fact that cloud mining generally brings in the newbies, but this market usbt bringing to manu of those along these days. They're about 15 months to late to really soak up profits with a cloud mine. I would also assume they are going to be using there current generation miners because they are stuck with them

Rough price with no tax is about 175 a month for the 50 TH package. That's including the 5 dollars daily for maintenance.

Just like any cloud mining you only gain if the price shoots up down the road and you hold until then.

Either way I cant are it being enough to really affect the overall network hash, really looking forward to another double digit drop - 12% is looking good.
2473  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Rumor that Bitmain is going belly up! can't pay its chip builder! on: December 13, 2018, 04:17:03 PM
For whatever reason I thought they already had there hands in a filthy cloud mining operation. Doesn't surprise me that they would go that route, but it reeks of desperation.

I guess if the hardware isn't flying off the shelves you can trick a few people into a smaller initial investment that in the end leaves them well behind just buying coins; and Bitmain gets someone to pay off the gear and then had a machine to sell down the road.

The cloud "miners" will figure it out in a few months hopefully they dont sign a stupidly long contract
2474  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Anybody here suing Bitmain on: December 12, 2018, 05:17:41 PM
i ones that had 20 or more.
i helped a friend setup 25 s9s.. we put them all together, turned them all on all row by row, then went and logged into the main terminal and started setting them up..

No disrespect but that sounds crazy to me.

Personally I would have turned on a couple machines set them up and just carried on down the line doing that.

Going forward though after the first set up you should know what you are getting into and be able to make a plan moving forward. Anyone who mined for hours somehow for bitmain just didn't do enough research to be prepared IMO.

If in any way Satoshi's PMs are worded this way, you should release them for a healthy dose of laughable enjoyment for everyone.

All I want for the BTCT 10 year anniversary is to have Satoshi talk like they're a founding member of TLC.
2476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ravencoin [RVN] PoW GPU Mining | Asset Transfer Blockchain (Updated ANN) on: December 11, 2018, 11:58:49 PM
Pretty sure Chatturga asked for things like what pool are they mining to? or anything that would offer some validity to the statement.

It's easy for anyone to go around claiming they have an x16r Asic and are mining with it. The problem is that x16R hasn't been profitable enough for long enough to justify sinking the cost into building an Asic. The only Asics that launched and were believed to be non-existent before had been developed during the boom.

So great that you're trying to spread information, but people aren't going to haphazardly fork the chain against a threat that can't be proven or even properly investigated. I can say I'm glad for that, because even if it was proven there was an asic down the road, reacting before investigating would do more harm than good. Who would trust in a project that panics at the first whisper of a rumor?

2478  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Are ASIC miners very noisy? I would like to buy... on: December 11, 2018, 04:54:54 PM
Do you have a source of cheap electricity? That is a huge factor in what gear I'd suggest.

If your looking for a ball park for Asic noise levels between 55-75 DB is a pretty good range to use for an idea.

Like Phil said the Avalons offer a lot of flexibility in downclocks to reduce noise/power, some models also had a recent release of efficient firmware. The 841 for example with this upgrade is on par for Canaan most efficient gear and can be found for a decent price.

Again depending on your setup, we could probably offer more direct advice or suggestions.
2479  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: TRIPLE-1, Inc. 株式会社 松島 KAMIKAZE 7nm SHA-256 ASIC on: December 11, 2018, 04:31:23 PM
Gaku, my contact at Triple-1, says: "1st version is for our limited customers and price for general customers is still considering carefully now."

If you know what's Gaku's role there?  There has been 0 new/useful communication to come from them for months now, pretty much since they announced themselves.

If they do have a product they have blown their big shot to get them sold and emerge as a leading competitor. I'm not just saying that due to the advertised efficiencies, but they had the opportunity to swoop in as a hell of a deal considering they could dodge the tariffs. Now the market is significantly less favorable, but they still have that advantage for the time being if they get their shit together; assuming they can.

It all just sounds ridiculous, that their only issue is figuring out a price, considering these should have already been shipped out based on the original roadmap. Excuses like that really taint their credibility. I could understand them making a release that says we ran behind on production or provided some real information.
2480  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Innosilicon Terminator 3 on: December 07, 2018, 10:16:55 PM
No I never did get an order placed, I was holding off on seeing the products. Can't help but wait for batch 2, just to be sure the machine hits the specs.

Overall they are just one of the companies that have fallen silent on products that were announced.

The t2t+ was supposed to be the 32 TH model, and should have shipped at the end of October I believe, starting to get fuzzy on the details.
