2481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All Fiat Printers and Users who disreguard Crypto are Clinically Insane on: July 28, 2015, 08:18:31 PM
Not necessarily... People who print fiat are, but not others. Some are probably just blindfolded or wear visors like race horses Wink

Pretty nifty website, all the important info without scrolling, easily available... Keep it up!
2483  Bitcoin / Armory / Armory on Windows 10 on: July 28, 2015, 07:47:02 PM
I'm switching the machine controlling my Offline wallets, and this time I'm setting up Armory on Windows. I'll start off by saying that I've never setup Armory on Windows, so something really trivial might be escaping me.

I've installed everything without any issue, added a wallet, pointed Armory to my Bitcoin Core install and to my blockchain files as usual... But it simply doesn't get out of offline mode. I've tried using Armory 0.93.2 and Bitcoin Core 0.10 and Bitcoin Core 0.10.2.

I'll copy what I think are the relevant lines on the logfile

Code:
2015-07-28 19:40 (INFO) -- ArmoryQt.py:2508 - Setting satoshi datadir = D:\Bitcoin
2015-07-28 19:40 (INFO) -- SDM.pyc:282 - Total size of files in D:\Bitcoin\blocks is 38.5 GB

Is it anything on Armory or this simply happens because Armory and Windows 10 still don't get along? I'm also posting this as a heads up for folks migrating tomorrow... There might be issues.
2484  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: What are change adresses ? on: July 28, 2015, 05:05:49 PM
[url)https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Change]Change[/url]

Change addresses are addresses where your funds go if you don't spend the entire output of the transaction. They are added for extra privacy and to avoid address reuse
2485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: POLL - Which Bitcoin will become the first national currency? on: July 28, 2015, 04:55:02 PM
I don't see how could Bitcoin become a national currency... Why would that happen? What are the arguments in favor? Countries should just replace their fiat with a blockchain equivalent...
2486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CNBC anchors are so oblivious to Bitcoin....LOL on: July 28, 2015, 04:53:02 PM
They are paid to do whatever pleases the TV station... probably their bosses want them to diss on Bitcoin. They obviously don't even bother to search about it also...

These people are mannequins whose only skill is coherent autocue reading. If people base investment decisions on what the TV stiffs are told to say then more fool them.

This makes for a relevant little watch.

Relevant video indeed... Will we see such a thing in a few years about Bitcoin? Cheesy
2487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Network Hashrate Tops 400PH/s [edit: WAS THE INCREASE UNTRUE?] on: July 27, 2015, 11:09:31 PM
It's quite normal. Bitcoin's price was too low to mine for most of miners, When the price went up home miners etc started their rigs.
It wasn't the first time we've seen 400+ Phs (according to blockchain.info's graph).

I was about to say that, but I didn't confirm on the graphs... also though so Smiley

And yeah, it's just basically people turning on their miners because of the price increase. The wrong time to turn them on, IMO Smiley

We have reached it before, but that sudden increase and then it disappeared makes me think it could be next generation hardware testing. That's just speculation of course Tongue

My thoughts also Wink But I don't have any numbers or proof about that... Maybe KnC and their 16nm chips?

When I see what, your/the person who took the screenshot's Windows asking for activation?
What? You're talking nonsense. Please make some sense, new friend.

Ninja screenshot correction Grin
Nonsense. Clearly you have photoshopped this image to slander my good name. I would never steal from beloved corporation Micro$oft.

The fact that your Windows isn't activated doesn't mean you're stealing from someone, it just means it's inactivated, lol Cheesy

Actually pretty good catch, but remember that past performance doesnt translate into future performance, even tho future bubbles with increasingly higher floors are unavoidable with Bitcoin. A question of 2+2=4. It's destiny that we keep hitting 2k, 3k, 4k... until about year 2100.

You said that past performance doesn't affect future performance... So future higher floors might not be possible Smiley

When I see what, your/the person who took the screenshot's Windows asking for activation? Grin

This would suit the Economics forum better. As for my opinion... Graphs only tell half or even less than half of the story Smiley
2491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Network Hashrate Tops 400PH/s on: July 27, 2015, 09:36:16 PM
Was it a glitch that showed the strong spike? Or was it manipulated in some way?

What other tools do we have to see network size, to control if it ever was at 465pb?

I don't know if the news article was manipulated or not in any way, but one thing is for sure, we passed 400 PH. That could be seen on any website that display global hashrate.

What other tools? getmininginfo on Bitcoin Core console Cheesy

2493  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [DENARIUM] Next Generation Physical Bitcoins (IN STOCK) on: July 27, 2015, 09:12:00 PM
1. The point of an E series is exactly that: have an unloaded coin... You can load those coins, and you can load them with any amount you want.

As for the 2nd question, only time will tell Grin

1. So now I have a logical question: why print some amount onto unloaded coins in the first place if you can load them without limitation?

2. What is the point creating a non-denomination coin (so not printed with some amount), if you can load the E-series (they're printed with some amount though) with any amount already?

What I mean: the functionality of empty printed 1/100 and 1/10 coins and non-denomination coin is exactly the same. Am I right? And if so, is it just optical reason (printed amount/not printed amount) what matters?

There is nothing special in these, or any other physical cryptocoins... they have an address and a private key inside. The address is a normal Bitcoin address to which you can send 1 satoshi or 100000 Bitcoins. Printing a value is a design choice only, I think... It makes sense to me, as it makes both E and L series standardized, both have the same design, They just come loaded or not Smiley Maybe someone from Denarium can explain better Wink
2494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road 2.0 Found Blake Benthall Released from Prison on: July 27, 2015, 06:15:16 PM
Pretty curious information... Being on witness program might be true, but I don't know how much info he has to testify against Silk Road 1 or even if he has any info at all about that.

I find it odd if he was simply released. Although it wouldn't surprise me if that was true. After all, they've arrested BurtW, amongst other stuff, so... It wouldn't be the first wierd thing they did.
2495  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin Price Ticker on Forum Top on: July 27, 2015, 05:34:52 PM
I don't think this is relevant or essential. There are quite a few tickers out there... If you really want one for the forums you can try this plugin/script.

I am pretty sure things are setup to switch ownership to the Trustees in case anything happens to him.

This isn't about thrones. This is about being trustworthy, trusted and responsible to run things in an unbiased manner.
2497  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Where i can import the seed if electrum is not aviable? on: July 27, 2015, 04:20:37 PM
It will force you to initially generate a new seed, however it will allow you to edit the seed it generates and will give you the private keys associated with your electrum wallet with that seed.

I select "Electrum" from this page (https://brainwallet.org/#chains), click "Secure Random" and it generates new addresses. As soon as I
paste my 13 word seed into "Paper Backup" box, all boxes went blanks and nothing happens. I might be doing it wrong, please correct me if I am. I suspect it doesn't work with Electrum 2.0 (13 word seeds)

You can see which wallets are compatible here.

Looking at the "mnemonic-compatitble" tab, it seems nothing is compatible to Electrum 2.0  Embarrassed

Exactly, nothing works quite like Electrum. And it's not possible on brainwallet as far as I know.
2498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: here is my bitcoin-story and FREE STICKERS. on: July 27, 2015, 04:15:34 PM
Nice story... Bitcoin helped in a time of need, and across boarders Wink

As for the stickers... I'll wait for positive feedback first Grin
2499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin / Crypto wreaking havoc on Dow, Shanghai composite and Commodities on: July 27, 2015, 04:12:00 PM
I don't also see a correlation... But I'm also not presenting any real numbers Wink So feel free to prove me wrong if you have some numbers on that.
2500  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [DENARIUM] Next Generation Physical Bitcoins (IN STOCK) on: July 27, 2015, 03:36:51 PM
I have some questions.

1. What is the exact point to buy the E-series, if they're unloaded? And why do you print them 1/100 and 1/10 if they still unloaded? Are 1/100 and 1/10 the exact BTC you can load into them (E-series) at maximum?

2. When can I expect premium series line with 1 BTC L and E? And finally you promised a no-denomination coin, when do you make that and is it really unlimited?

1. The point of an E series is exactly that: have an unloaded coin... You can load those coins, and you can load them with any amount you want.

As for the 2nd question, only time will tell Grin
