2561  Other / Meta / Re: How to stop wallet shilling? on: June 02, 2021, 10:38:32 AM
Either those users you mentioned really shill those wallets or it is the only wallet they know or got used to that is why they cannot recommend other wallets.
If you would ask about my opinion, I don't think they're shilling....just yet. Even if the mentioned users seems to do, they are really bad at doing so. I just checked one of 415jeremy's post and I got this comparison of his "favorite wallet" to "giants".
There could be a lot of options. But coinomi and ownr wallet are my favorite
I think so. And moreover, Ownr is relatively young, but it's a competitor to giants like Coinomi and Jaxx.

Makes me remember awhile back on those posts that claims to be an investment/trading advice in the title only to transition into shilling their coins in the content of the OP itself, though it isn't wallet as what is being discussed in here.
It is really a tricky one to catch because one would thought that it is just a casual advice that you will stumble upon everyday.
Just report them, OP just like what others mentioned in here.
2562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the FUD starting to wear off? on: June 01, 2021, 08:09:11 PM

It is just how some article writers control the public with the use of the words. I even recall back then when there was a proposal of ban of Bitcoin in India back then in my local news but it was just proposal after all when I did a thorough research. That was long time ago and I barely recall already. Cheesy
2563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would you do if you were new to Bitcoin and given £10 Bitcoin For Free on: June 01, 2021, 07:59:56 PM
Well that's a bit high if converted to my local currency so I'll just keep on hodling.
Just like what I replied to the previous thread, I could have been probably locked out of it.
If I was still enthusiastic in day trading like back then, I would day trade but my light bulb was done for.
2564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This dip is PROOF that "I wish I would've bought Bitcoin at X price" is nonsense on: June 01, 2021, 07:08:59 PM

Not in my case, OP.
I won't sell it because probably I invested something that I don't care about it anyway.
Most likely I would just be locked up from my own wallet, that is for sure because I'll just let the private key in one side and never read or touch that text ever again.
2565  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are scammers getting dumber? Or is it people they aim for are so naïve? on: June 01, 2021, 07:07:10 PM

Problem is that their target/s are the ones that have not read yet on what majority just said in here.
Most of it were seniors. They aren't knowledgeable that much in technologies these days.
2566  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin ever become a widely adopted global payment solution? on: June 01, 2021, 01:34:15 PM

To be used through peer-to-peer transaction, it might take a while.
Here in my country, we already have certain apps like Coins that allows us to pay our bills though not all merchants are allowing the payment through it just yet. It is still third-party app in the end, but it is a payment solution.
2567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop the FUD! Enough is enough! on: June 01, 2021, 01:32:08 PM

Let em. It is not like we are at the loss in here anyway.
People in social media will just continue on the FUDs, now that even Musk started to get in the heads of these people that can't hodl their coins.
2568  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A legend was once a newbie on: June 01, 2021, 12:03:49 PM
~
I might be overreacting a little bit, I suppose. My apologies for that.

It is just that I commonly encounter newbies that were/are seeing this website as an earning platform instead of just a simple forum where we can all have relaxing discussion with a little icing on the side which are those bounties or SCs.

Assuming a newbie makes a good thread/topic/discussion but then s/he does not engage nor care about the replies of the people wanting to discuss with the thread and then just moves on to make another thread.
It becomes like a merit fishing in order to reach the goal of ranking up, thus making them able to join signature campaigns, rather than posting something that encourages engagement/discussion for people wanting to share their thoughts with the OP.
2569  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A legend was once a newbie on: June 01, 2021, 07:25:33 AM
I wonder if other newbies would still dream of ranking up if there ain't bounty campaigns here. Roll Eyes
You can still be pretty knowledgeable to crypto without being a Legendary if you just read around here.

@OP Your post is really well-written I gotta be honest, but why you're wishing to be a "legend" or Legendary supposedly you mentioned that "legend with so much merits and positive trust".

Even if it isn't from those coins, I would not trust any project reviews in Youtube even if the uploader/s demonetized his/er/their video/s.
Being paid from a deal through email is still a thing. It is just like those sponsorship for some crappy software/s.
2571  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Singapore Police Say Crypto-Related Crimes Keep Rising across the Country on: May 31, 2021, 07:26:14 PM

Mention "money laundering" one more time. Roll Eyes
Authorities think that crimes like money laundering mostly happens using crypto just because it is behind their probation/observation, but they do not even realize how many of those happens using paper money.
2572  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 2 Simple Ways Crypto Whales Manipulate the Market on: May 31, 2021, 02:12:53 PM
~
For long-term hodlers like me, it's just piss easy because I won't be like moving my coins for quite a long-time even if whales would turn the trends around at some point.
Just like what's happening to the market right now, either I just buy or I hold. I just don't give a crap about others' FUDs to the market.
2573  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Many got REKT :( on: May 31, 2021, 02:07:59 PM

If you're just ready to risk your money to something that was already dead many times but still pushed through, I don't think there should be worry on timing.
Just don't buy if that "money" you're about to invest is not worth losing.
I just buy whenever I have the extra, like when I earn from freelancing and I just wanted to buy something that isn't my "need", I would consider thinking about investing in Bitcoin. Smiley
2574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't believe in digital money? Well... on: May 31, 2021, 02:04:51 PM

I still often hold cash, because it is the only means I got to transact around here.
Hell, I would go 70% Bitcoin over paper money if it is only widely used here, but it's not.
People still use credit/debit cards over cryptos because they got used to banks.
2575  Other / Meta / Re: How I increase my bitcointalk account member rank? on: May 31, 2021, 08:47:35 AM

This might be an unpopular suggestion, but stop using "sir" or "mam" in asking questions. This is a forum, not a workplace. It is totally fine to call someone by their usernames.

Unless you change your way from focusing to join more bounties, then you ain't gonna get anywhere in your rank.
Your post history is 99% bounty reports, and the rest were just one-liners. That won't get you any single merit, if you might ask.

I am quite curious why your first post was a bounty report. Roll Eyes
2576  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto is here to stay, do not panic on: May 30, 2021, 08:01:19 PM

Even if other countries banned crypto, people would still have the means there to do p2p transaction. It is just that immediate reaction like you mentioned, but almost not all people will react like that.

Welcome back to Bitcoin Obituaries for that "BTC have died too many times before". It's getting old, but the ride keeps on moving forward.
2577  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are scammers getting dumber? Or is it people they aim for are so naïve? on: May 30, 2021, 02:07:27 PM

I received a call from my "bank support line" a while ago. Now these people were real con artists, they had all my data, used correct chat scripts etc. It all sounded so legit I almost missed the moment they asked me for SMS confirmation code, at which point I realized it's a scam. Not being sympathetic to these guys but at least they were highly professional and inventive scammers, unlike those I mentioned above.
You kind of remind me of scambaiters in Youtube like Kitboga, Pierogi and Jim Browning. Cheesy
Though the scammers that they're playing with are mostly refund scams which is non-crypto related, but you mentioned that they're even claiming to be "BTC Support Department"? Oh no.

Now that you mention that they're also claiming to be from "bank support" and you received SMS confirmation code?
That ain't confirmation code to confirm they're serving the right customer but that's the code to reset your bank account so they'll have full control of it. Disgusting isn't it?

Some will also claim to be from a reputated companies like Microsoft, Norton, etc that'll convince you that you subscribe to something and you have the option to refund and when you do, they'll want you to login into your bank account and would ask your input for how much was to be refunded only to be claiming that you typed extra zeroes (eg: you typed $500 and they added another zero making  it $5000), then you'll see that you have that amount in your bank account which was just HTML-edited. They'll guilt trip you that they'll lose their jobs and would like you to send them that extra money through gift cards/hiding money in a FedEx package.

This pretty much would be a bit off from crypto but people should be aware at least.

Sweet. There are other gigs I reported there, like I will bump your bitcointalk announcement thread which I recall that the seller will comment 63 comments in the ANN thread/ 3 posts per day for $90.  I just forgot bookmark it in my mobile phone, because I did it on my pc, well I am not home right now. Cheesy

Just use the "bitcointalk" keyword in the search bar there. Smiley

Here is one from my provided screenshot [I will comment on your bitcointalk thread](Fiverr Link)
You might need to sign up first though, before you can report.
They don't support anonymous reporting.

There are other few similar gigs I saw and of course they all have multiple accounts, no wonder why ANN board in Altcoin section is flooded by spams from bumps. Other gigs were just mostly promotion through the usual social media platforms like Facebook.

~

I reported these gigs, and hopefully they'll get taken down. I'll just edit this post if it was successfully removed.
