1701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is it good to penalize airdrop hunters? on: December 05, 2021, 01:28:51 PM
~
Well I am not sure how directly it would affect investor, since mostly airdrops should be just a decimal portion of the total token/coin. I don't see any reason for any project to overdo their airdrops, unless they are really desperate for attention.
I guess this is why some airdrops also implemented KYC verification. As much as I hate that process, it can be somehow beneficial at some part.

That's okay. We all started as a newbie.
One thing I could suggest that you can add up to that one is share a "real experience", like why don't you recommend gambling. What specific experience did you get from gambling that made you say that you can't recommend gambling as a method of earning profit in crypto?
1703  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how does it feel to get merit? on: December 04, 2021, 01:18:08 PM
How does it feel when you get merit for the first time?
Just take it as a pat in the back. How does it feel to get a pat in the back with some people in the forum?
It's just like that, OP.

is there someone willing to review the my post history?
You're doing okay, but you might need to spread your posts a little more to other boards. For your thread about advantages in the cryptocurrency industry, you might need to provide more input than that as that is a common knowledge already.
1704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don’t Miss Out: Play To Earn on: December 03, 2021, 08:08:27 PM

Well not just shitcoin, but also it turned out to be a scam. It just took my attention quite briefly a week after I heard/read about that coin.
This is just another attempt to squeeze more money along with a trendy show.
I have not watched whole series yet, but surely the excitement of the watchers kind of died out already.
1705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are NFTs overhyped? on: December 03, 2021, 08:02:56 PM
It will be like Ico hyped in 2017, what better with NFT is that there are option if we will focus on digital goods or into gaming. It's somehow can be passion or hobby in investing while at the same time gaining profit. We must know particularly what we aim for so if theres a chance already for profit better grab it and seek another venture on where to gain profit while on hype than holding them too long.
I wonder if there would be a day that this hype will calm down. Mostly NFTs mentioned in here were all game-related and I had never stumble upon other types of NFTs just yet. Maybe a good dump of NFTs would lead to calming down of the hype.
I recall one of the popular NFT here in my country almost dumped down and lowered by x11 starting back in June-July. People were making living with it, but right now, many are grinding really hard with the game.

ICO hype just died due to a lot of scams. I have not heard any NFT scams yet, but I know that part of crypto space aren't scam-proof.
1706  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What did you learn about crypto trading? on: December 03, 2021, 02:38:40 PM
~
Not surprised about it as a former newbie back when I was day trading. Watching tutorials in Youtube kind of made me think that day trading is a really fast process to do and would be just a cakewalk. Turns out I was wrong. I know I wouldn't be earning that much, since it is obvious that the market isn't just bullish nor bearish within 24 hours.
The sole thing I learned is that luck would sometimes need to be in your side when you trade. I still recall trading coins like ADA in pair with ETH, and more coins that I cannot really recall and it just didn't work out for me even though I watched the whole tutorial in a single Youtube video even though I know how to use each indicators like the Bollinger Band, RSI or even both of those in combo.
Day 2, I earned a little bit but I stopped from exhaustion. Day trading isn't really for my time schedule or daily routine, so I stopped.
1707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is it good to penalize airdrop hunters? on: December 03, 2021, 02:22:42 PM

I stopped joining airdrops long time ago, and surely some would have done the same as well.

It's quite good idea for a project to do the same as what you mentioned in the OP, since it is indeed vulnerable to abuse. People making an alts here and there with their fake information. I wouldn't term that "penalizing" though. I would describe it as limiting the users involved like what tsaroz mentioned "lucky draw". It is not 100% foolproof, but it surely reduces abuse. I believe some airdrop "hunters" dump the coin anyway, so what if the platform just decided to limit it. There would be lesser number of people dumping their coins, though I know that even common airdrops aren't that much of a percentage out of the total supply.

Will it do any harm to crypto? No. I don't think that attention to crypto is highly focused on airdrops anyway. Many airdrops turned out to be a scam long time ago and if that hurt crypto, there wouldn't be that much of newer projects coming right out these days already.
1708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT is an interesting space on: December 03, 2021, 01:45:58 PM
~
I can see that. Right now, especially here in my country, NFT games are way too hyped especially Axie. I am not interested to play it though, due to how expensive those in-game items are and it's not even worth grinding for me due to how strict I am to my time schedule.
Kind of insane on how this NFT hype went. I was expecting it to be like those ICOs back in 2017 only, but this one is quite different.
1709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT is an interesting space on: December 02, 2021, 07:07:41 PM
~
This was what actually bothers me when I think of NFTs, aside from people seeing it as another in-game items that can be sold in a speculative value. I never saw someone still having their domain or music being made as an NFT.
Due to the hype of NFT games these days, I guess little people will know what real NFTs are.
1710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you invest in new projects? on: December 02, 2021, 06:15:05 PM
~
This is what I was hoping as well in my previous reply.
I, myself, never tried to buy these newer project, no matter on how good the token sale is/was. It smells fishy that a project wants to be in demand by lowering their price, then people would just dump it off when the token gets listed.

Still here hoping that we're both wrong thinking that the OP is shilling. It is quite common now in this board, sadly.
1711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: coinmarketcap or coingecko on: December 02, 2021, 03:38:49 PM
Well I use both, but sometimes I encounter slow downs in CoinMarketCap, but that could be in my own internet and device only. I don't really compare both sites.

However when it comes to my own development stuffs in websites especially when I use third-party APIs, I would choose CoinGecko over CoinMarketCap.
CoinGecko provide more endpoints for developers in their free plan rather than CoinMarketCap. I guess many had used their APIs already, that's why they have fewer endpoints.

1712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you invest in new projects? on: December 02, 2021, 02:33:12 PM
This seems another fishy project shilling aside from that CheckShit project that people seemed to shill a lot in here. I am not going to bother checking that project you mentioned. The only coin I invest right now is Bitcoin. The reason why I am reading around here is to see what interesting trends in crypto market right now is going mainstream, but it does not mean I am eager to invest.
1713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The altcoin market has become scammer's playground on: December 01, 2021, 09:13:54 PM
~
Yeah, those were the years before ICOs started to disappear one by one. It was becoming a scam pit and almost everyone would just see ICO as another term for scams that time. Regardless of what trend or what type of offering, scammers are there anyways.
Let alone that any forms of market would always be infested with scammers, and even outside crypto while within government's regulation, they still exist.
1714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are NFTs overhyped? on: December 01, 2021, 03:46:07 PM

Not aware of that NFT, but just by reading that Zynga, which the one that made my childhood and teenager days due to those games you mentioned, made me remember a lot of nostalgic moment when I was playing FarmVille.
Kind of sad that they replaced the first FarmVille twice with their sequel. I never bothered playing anymore of their games. I was kind of expecting that they're going to make like card NFT games though.

~
Seemingly most of the people I know that bought NFTs see that as just another in-game item that you could sell at a value depending on the market condition. I never even heard someone to say that it is sort of a "token".
What sense does it make to pay millions of dollars for an image you can find on the web for free?
This was the thought that bothers me also. What if someone just downloaded a stock image and just plainly edited them with their own skills in photoshop and published it in the internet. Imagine if they just gave it at a high price and someone bought it.
1715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon doesn't own Shiba? on: December 01, 2021, 03:03:03 PM
~
Let's assume he did not bought any Bitcoins at all, but he tweets of a picture with a B logo in it. People would just jump to conclusion already that Musk is currently holding one, because why would he tweet that in the first place. This is how social media can manipulate a lot of investors in a single click of whoever they follow in terms of their investment or something they are inspired of.
This is why I stay away from Twitter a lot when it comes to crypto, unless there is an interesting drama which is obviously non-crypto.
1716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon doesn't own Shiba? on: November 30, 2021, 08:16:03 PM

Lol.
Musk just posting a Shiba Inu photo and people are now thinking that he owns Shiba Inu coin. I just don't get it why do some people stick their noses into these celebrities that are just known for their inventions, but not in crypto investments.
They're just going to regret it anyways in the end.
1717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you guys think 0.1BTC is enough to "make it"? on: November 30, 2021, 08:12:05 PM

Well here in our country doing a quick search in Mansion Global, the lowest price I can find is a million dollars. I can't say that there would be a mansion that would cost a half of that. It ain't just gonna cut it.
I also believe that land value appreciates over time, so that is another thing also worth considering.

1718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think crypto prices will collapse further tomorrow? on: November 30, 2021, 05:21:38 PM
~
Well sure it is kind of similar to stock market, but the factors that affect both are different at some cases. Do I think that crypto price will continue to lose? Yes and no. It is just crypto being crypto. It is just unstable as what we had always experienced for every year with crypto.
Corona variant wouldn't really affect it that much, since it is not yet at that point where it is worrysome.

Well aside from possibly getting one's login credentials through phishing sites, it could be possible that the user you mentioned in the OP clicked a malicious link that caused a session hijack.
You can Google it to see what I mean.

Another "Phoenix Mining Post" victim from what I can see from the reference of his feedback in here.
See this on what he can do to recover his account: Recovering hacked/lost accounts

There are number of users I recall that encountered the same locked account incident due to whatever mining software this is:

I see that one of the photo also contains the feedback reference, mb.
