Here are some suggestions for your sales thread - [WTS]

Focus on photos and escrow.
3022  Other / Meta / Re: need a moderator: hacked account on: August 20, 2018, 10:19:34 PM
Here is my suggestion. It does come with the caveat of accepting recovery will take a long time, and there may be no benefit in the end.

[Suggestion] For anyone who had their account hacked

You already have a post you can direct people to in this thread so no need to do that part.
3023  Other / Meta / Re: Feedback abuse, asking for Admin action on: August 20, 2018, 09:00:21 PM
Wouldn't it be great if we put a limit of 1 feedback left to a person only and not an unlimited feedback

Maybe there should be a limit to 1 feedback per person without reference link. I personally hate feedback without a reference link, in most cases I ignore it.

Hell, in an ideal world a mod would ban his stupid ass for selling accounts and spamming negative trust.  Unfortunately that probably won't happen.  Sometimes you just have to trust that a person will look past all of those garbage feedbacks to see the ones that are relevant to doing bitcoin deals.

This should be seen as spam in the same sense as posting spam throughout the forum. Never really thought about this as most people aren't so juvenile. The bonus here is sadly most people don't look at untrusted feedback.

Nice looking machine. Any information on the warranty? Would the PSU be included in the warranty?

Any info/specs on the PSU?? Efficiency or cost in case you want to have a spare on hand?

3025  Economy / Reputation / Re: Legendster? Let's do a bet on: August 20, 2018, 08:29:03 PM
Just to point out your terms are unrealistic.

You cannot delete a BTCT account. The most that can be done is delete all the posts or the next best thing would be to change the password, then lock the account through the email you get.

Honestly I wouldn't get so bent out of shape over being called an alt, people are suspicious. This forum requires a certain thickness of skin that many seem to be lacking. I would remove money or accounts from the equation all together and make them wear something in their personal text or signature for a while.

Even if they accept the challenge as stated you left out 1 detail, a definitive deadline. They could say they are researching for years.

3026  Other / Meta / Re: Post your recovery proof message here for verification on: August 20, 2018, 07:59:00 PM
This topic is meant to be used in conjunction with this topic
For anyone who had their account hacked

Or for anyone who doesn't feel the need to start their own thread and bump it continuously. It is in no way an attempt to assist with recovery but the secondary benefit could be a reduction in threads started about hacked accounts.

I am little bit confuse, " for what this thread?'' . There is another thread for stake address.

Your right, and that was given as an example in the first link in the post. This thread is for people who have been posting about their account having been hacked to place their signed recovery message as opposed to creating their own thread. See the top of this post for the why?

This isn't for everyone but it's the suggestion I have been giving to people as a way to link their hacked account with their new account. I am hoping by doing something like this we can avoid people going out and buying accounts, which has been suggested and then reposted by other members...
3027  Other / Meta / Post your recovery proof message here for verification on: August 20, 2018, 06:29:43 PM
This thread is an attempt to help people that have had their account hacked. There are a lot of threads out there, and I figured people could use the same thread to post the message and have it verified, the same way this thread has them staked.

Do so in the same way you would have signed the recovery message for Cyrus and Theymos as presented here: Recovering hacked accounts or accounts with lost passwords

Someone will come along and verify the message, and if you are wanting to link to your original account you can try using this suggestion. [Suggestion] For anyone who had their account hacked

Edit: This thread is meant to work together with my band-aid fix in the last linked thread of this topic.
The secondary benefit would be to have all signed and verified messages of hacked accounts in one place.
3028  Other / Meta / [Suggestion] For anyone who had their account hacked on: August 20, 2018, 06:23:10 PM
First off this is a band-aid solution suggestion, to help hold maintain your reputation with a new account. This will in no way move along your account recovery, but I feel it is a better option than the recent suggestions of buying an account; which is a terrible practice on so many levels.

Secondly- This does not apply to banned accounts, you deserve your punishment.

First follow the steps found here Recovering hacked accounts or accounts with lost passwords

Now the parts you are not going to like. You need to create a new account, there is no way around it. Recovery is currently 8 months+, maybe longer I honestly don't remember seeing an account recovered.

  • Go to this thread with your new account and post a signed message, the same way you would have when following the recovery guidelines
  • In that same post ad a link to your hacked account
  • Someone will verify the message for you, quote it and post that it is verified
  • Place a text copy of the link to the verified message from the above thread in your signature space
  • You can update the signature space as you progress in rank, but due to newbie restrictions that is the best you can do for now.

Obviously this is not perfect, far from it. Some users do not need it, but there are accounts out there that have built up a reputation that is difficult to let go of. Especially in the Marketplace, it could help people continue to make sales or trades with users their original account had dealt with in the past. You will still have to explain to anyone you chose what the situation is and can tell them where to look for the verified proof that the accounts are linked.

Here are some other options. You can purchase a copper membership to lift some of the restrictions on Sig space, and posting images.
It would be nice to see the fee waived by Theymos, but I imagine that would require the same amount of work/effort as account recovery. So instead a fee reimbursement may be nice after the fact.

When discussing with another individual at some point these are some thought I had for afterwards. I think if an account is recovered, there should be some way of locking the secondary account and transferring any earned Merit and Activity to the primary account. This would be a one time option and up to the account holder.

Edited opening line
3029  Economy / Reputation / Re: Shit eaters Lauda and Pharmacist- Ban need to executed on these people on: August 20, 2018, 05:41:10 PM
I agree with the Pharmacist, should be removed from the DT members for good.
I don't think I give the Pharmacist enough credit. Without even tagging people they earn the hate of so many people, that or a lot of people can't remember what account they are posting from.

I wish i could have known where this dickhead DThead is living so that i could hire someone to put him down or atleast break his arms and legs ive got a couple of spare BTCs.

Is the above a threat?? Or did you mean put him down for a nap? maybe you meant massage his arms and legs? Hard to say what gets lost in translation.

If not I'm guessing you haven't read the rules.

3030  Other / Meta / Re: Community generated suggestions to improve the forum (+ eventual voting on them) on: August 20, 2018, 03:41:24 PM
I don't think I saw this.

Not critical but it would be nice if the Report to moderator page, came up in a separate tab. The same way the Merit page does.

It's a small annoyance when I go to report someone in the middle of reading a topic then I have to go looking for them. It's small and easily doable if I'm not mistaken Theymos made the change rather quickly when VOD suggested it for Merit.
3031  Other / Meta / Re: I was blocked, tell me what to do to remove the lock? on: August 20, 2018, 03:33:01 PM
So in case it isn't clear this account is also prohibited from posting anywhere outside Meta. It is you as a person who is banned from posting.

Having never been banned you may be able to still log into the accounts just for looking around the forum. So you will still have access to all the information here, but you can not make money if that's the only reason you were here.

*I am reporting this account and the OP so that this account receives the same BAN as your original. Not sure if anyone else has. Archived OP for reference.

3032  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why after all this time is 'crypto journalism' so shit? on: August 20, 2018, 03:23:56 PM
Any news story these days requires you take it with a grain of salt, and then dig deeper. Crypto news is no different.

Most "news" comes with the reporters personal opinions and biases strewn in between every word. They see the idea and distort it towards their base, giving the people who create traffic and revenue what they want to hear/read. I wish I had been around when news was just that the facts, I hear it was great. For now it is up to the reader/viewer to take the story and google the key points to see if you can find the missing parts to make an informed opinion. Most of the time you just find the other 4 sites running a near carbon copy of the story you just read.

The second problem I see is the people or organisations that go out there and brand themselves as news. Sometimes this is just to promote their interests or the interests they are paid to promote.
3033  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [GUIDES] on Bitcointalk. Index thread (until there is a dedicated subforum?) on: August 20, 2018, 03:08:36 PM
Here are a couple I've been putting together.

[Tips] Posting technique

Posting guidelines for Computer Hardware section

These threads are also still open to suggestions. As it is I usually point people to them when I feel they could use some of the information.
3034  Other / Meta / Re: [Hacked/locked] Account 'Ranyar' hacked/stolen/locked - plese help on: August 19, 2018, 11:39:22 PM
You will recover the account eventually but there have been people waiting months. So best thing you can do is start a new account  in the meantime.
3035  Other / Meta / Re: Meta board flooded by account recovery thread ( ban/locked and hacked account) on: August 19, 2018, 05:54:12 PM
^^ no need to quote the entire op.

There is no need for a thread for account recovery. They just do it to bring visibility to the issue. The big thing is following the instructions in the post hilarious quoted.

The ones you are seeing are ban appeals because they have to post that here.

Edit: Found a use for this in addition to an account linking topic I started.
3036  Other / Meta / Re: Unbanned my account on: August 19, 2018, 05:27:01 PM
I will try not to repeat the wrong.

This is exactly why I think it is wrong for people to be encouraging these permanent bans to create a new account.

It's not hard to not plagiarize. So now this spammy shitposter is going to tell all his buddies to just open a new account.
3037  Other / Meta / Re: [ACCOUNT CryptoLenin is HACKED] Please Restore My Account on: August 19, 2018, 02:25:15 PM
You've done everything possible for now.

Best to:
  • use this account the way you would your original
  • use your signature space to link to this thread and your original profile to link new and old with proof

That's the best way I can think to continue on as close to normal as you can.
3038  Other / Meta / Re: What should be included in a newbie welcome message? on: August 19, 2018, 12:50:01 PM
Nice glad to see something might come out for this.

I don't care if it's my [tips] , but something covering multiposts, and trimmed quotes would be nice.

Also any way to make a one or 2 question quiz to verify they look at the message.. Like write 3rd word in second sentance. It won't prove they read it but if there account is locked until they fill in the answer they will have to open the message.
3039  Other / Meta / Re: My old account is lost on: August 19, 2018, 02:30:49 AM
Can you link to the account? This way people can tell if it is in use at the moment.

Honestly Account recovery has about the same odds as winning the lottery, so you can follow the steps in the previous post. At the same time though I would just start over and build new.
3040  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best spot to find mining basics on: August 19, 2018, 12:57:52 AM
I will say this is a pointless endeavor, you will not earn a single satoshi. Mostly because no pool will accept a GPU worker.

Not sure why you are having a hard time setting up to mine an altcoin.

For the information you are looking for you could search here. Its in archival for a reason. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=44.0
