401  Economy / Economics / Re: Will the world soon become tired of the US dollar? on: January 13, 2024, 05:11:34 PM
There is a possibility but I doubt that it will happen anytime soon.

Remember that USA is a hegemonic country- it has complete and absolute power over the value of its Dollar from all over the world. If you consider all other currencies, Dollar is the most dominant and consistent as its value retains or increases on some countries.

The only way that I think that can weaken the dollar is when countries will prohibit its transaction and circulation. Another thing, if you close its trade markets with international countries and companies, this will severely weaken its value, thereby another currency will take over.

While this situations may happen, I doubt that it will happen in the near future given that USA is still the dominant country in the whole world. They have access to at least everything when it comes to economic crisis, political wars, etc.

Spill the beans, and let the crypto-gaming adventure begin! 🚀🎮 #BitcoinGaming #CryptoAdventures

There is a game that I currently play (FPS online game) where you get to play against other players and every round you win, you get these "tokens" that are cryptocurrencies converted to that game specifically. It is like you mine those coins while you play that game. I have not fully explored or taken advantage of that system given that I focus only on the game itself (old game turned mining crypto) but I heard that there are other players who profited from this experience.

Additionally, I also watched some videos on YouTube where several YouTubers explained the concept of "PlayToEarn" games. Normally, you have to buy-in in order to start at that game in the form of cryptocurrencies and you earn them while you play- think of it like Axie Infinity.

The problem with these games is that there has to be some sort of burning mechanism of such tokens in order to balance the financial ecosystem. Without that burning mechanism, there would be an influx of these coins mined thereby reducing its price significantly, like what happened to Axie in its later stages.
403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know when to stop on: January 13, 2024, 03:51:14 PM
One of the most important factor of a successful gambler is to know when to stop, most gamblers expecially the addictive type don't even know what is stop when it comes to gambling. So it's very important to;
* Stop when your losing is now getting to you.

The reason on why this is very difficult for gamblers to do is because of the initial reaction that they feel whenever they encounter a loss. The most natural thing to do is to take "revenge" by betting again in hopes of recovering such losses. In an ideal world, sure, the gambler indeed recovers their losses; but imagine the amount of people who get stuck on this cycle as they try to break their losses by betting again.

Quote
* Stop when you are now feeling as is you can't do without gambling.

I agree with this statement. People who revolve their whole life around gambling should realize that there are other forms of entertainment (and even income) that are possible outside the world of gambling which are less risky in nature.

Quote
* Stop when you have a big winning, by channeling the money somewhere else so you won't lose it back to gambling.

This is what we call being greedy. Gamblers typically do not realize and appreciate what they currently have until everything or half of it is gone. This is applicable in this situation where a gambler tries to gamble and gamble in hopes of increasing that winning streak, only to just lose it all in a matter of minutes.

Quote
* When your losing is weighing you down, stop and restrategize .

I hope everything that has mentioned here should be taken into heart by these fellow gamblers.

Again, it is not the end of the world if you lost your money in this venture. There are other ways to recover such losses which can be utilized outside the gambling world. Re-evaluate and inspire- think on why you lost and make it as an inspiration to prevent it from happening again.
404  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As a newbie, be careful of the Bitcoin information you process on: January 13, 2024, 02:05:23 PM
In conclusion, it's very important that we gather enough information by making our own research and also learning from others especially in a community like BTT. let's not be too quick to jumping into conclusion especially in topics that we are not familiar with. Your contributions are greatly appreciated.
Well theres a saying a lot of talks out there arent real. If you have found some information its quite natural that tou verified it first cause even the one who said it is even the President of the United States sometimes its not credible or maybe the one that tells that got hacked or whatever. Bitcoin has a lot of resources and you could check it yourself whether the data or info is indeed correct.

The problem with the world nowadays is the reliability of information being spread across the internet.

It is very difficult to trust information nowadays given that everything can be easily faked and altered. Even trusted websites spread false information that many people rely on. Unfortunately, people who have little-to-no knowledge/education at all can be easily swayed by misinformation being spread by fake celebrities or influencers.

Not only just bitcoin information every information which related you should be secure. I see many newbies while they doing bounty campaigns they gives their personal data also for a few bucks. So I also include these thing on besides securing Bitcoin information process. Don't get into the trap if phishing and scammers.

I find these newbies to be somehow "lazy" and then they complain on why they do not receive any merits at all. Bounties are just one of those campaigns that promote spam across the forum due to the leniency of the managers to accept anyone who applies.
405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your thoughts on VIP Programs in casinos? on: January 13, 2024, 12:49:20 PM
In the Casino, a particular class of people feel so much important and they carry themselves as that by subscribing for VIP packages. Even though they do not wish to be a part of the regular and pay premium for it, they also want to be treated with some special perks for subscribing to such packages. Some perks should be considered when attending to VIP, whatever matches the premium subscription and distinguishes them from the regular is just cool.

I definitely agree with your statement.

Naturally, VIP packages are measured in a tier-based list depending on the total amount of money a person spends. Obviously, a regular/normal spender would not be able to reach the S-tier rank due to his less spending habits. But if a gambling casino introduces VIP programs that lets normal spenders feel the tier in which normal VIP users experience, then it would be a win-win situation for both.

I hope that more gambling casinos introduce these VIP Programs as this will be a win-win situation for both the gambling platform and the player. This brings more potential customers in experiencing the VIP system and this would bring revenue to the gambling platform as well.
406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Land-based Casino Enjoyers are something else. on: January 13, 2024, 08:26:47 AM
I gotta say man, I know gambling for some people is bad but when they say it's bad I didn't think it'd be this worse lol. Oh well, all the more reasons to avoid the land-casinos I guess.

I mean, holy crap! That is just the nastiest thing that I have ever seen so far related to gambling. Not to be racist or anything but is the girl on the slot machine Chinese? As far as I know, Chinese gamblers are notoriously known to have very rude attitude and nasty acts in general- they rarely care about their surroundings as they focus more on themselves.

Anyway, I remember that I also watched several videos on YouTube regarding casino gamblers and one of the dark secrets of those casino-hotels is that most of the people there suicide. Usually, high rollers when they lose, they make one final bet and if they lose, they subsequently take their lives inside the hotel.

Unfortunately, these are just one of the things that a person may witness in these land-based casinos. I am sure that there are other nasty things that are happening which are not caught on video.
407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Knowing Bitcoin price history is important on: January 12, 2024, 08:22:06 PM
Checking charts can be useful, but understanding what caused significant market shifts in the past and calculating how much influence such events have now and in the coming years is also very important.

This is the very statement that everyone should know as I definitely agree with you.

Sure, the price history of index showed a significant increase to its price ever since it started way back in 2009. But understanding those key events that lead to its price right now should be taken into account before you invest. While a person may use its price history index as basis for investing, you must also know the reason on why bear and bull runs happened within those years also.

A person should not just blindly invest without knowing on why the price of BTC increased in the first place. Not to mention, even during those bullish runs, there were some bearish runs that caused the price of BTC to crash in those said years.
408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not a means to an end, Do it for fun and don't take it as a job on: January 12, 2024, 03:46:23 PM
I am honestly quite surprised that there are really some people who are dedicated to gambling; I mean, it is all fun and games until you experience your first losing streak and thereby end your whole career slowly with all the nonstop bets that you make.

At the end of the day, the house always wins due to the presence of house edge. If you truly want to maximize your earnings, then play card games such as poker, blackjack, etc. in order to at least control the game with your skill (e.g. bluffing, etc.) to your advantage.

Sports betting may also be done but do not treat it as something that you should completely rely on for your monthly income. If you view it as a means to an end, then expect things to slowly suffer from your end as you are relying on something that is very inconsistent.
409  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Who is newbie and how long does it take to navigate the forum? on: January 12, 2024, 03:15:53 PM
Interesting discussion- I think this really depends on how you define a "newbie" on a given platform or topic.

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, a "newbie" is a person who has recently started a particular activity.1 Given the examples that you provided OP, I think the best person that falls under this category is the first example, which is:

Quote
First one: A user with a very old registration date but made only a couple of posts, but did not earn merit to rank up and his login time is around 10 hours or so.

The second and third person had already spent a time on this forum since they have accumulated at least 7 days and 25 days of total log-in time in this forum. It is safe to say that they have already read some posts and even made threads about BTC even if they failed to garner some merit.

Though again this can be a technical discussion since there may be people who are considered as "newbies" despite having lots of total log-in time, the definition of what a newbie is best describe the first person you have mentioned.

Personally, however, I consider all of them as newbies as there are more factors that may upgrade a newbie to an expert.

https://www.nst.com.my/news/crime-courts/2023/12/989089/malaysian-kidnapped-manila-ransom-paid-cryptocurrency-body-found

Very unfortunate na may ganitong krimen ang nangyayari pero to be honest, wala masyado kinalaman dito ang cryptocurrency in furtherance of the crime.

Una kaagad nilang naiisip is ginagamit siya for crimes but in fact hindi talaga ito yung pinaka main or selling point niya.
411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What ugly incident or occurrence have you ever experienced in gambling? on: January 12, 2024, 01:49:45 PM
You can tap on the image to watch the full video. It was crazy to see this kind of luck slip from a gambler's hands simply because his device malfunctioned. It was funny to me, but at the same time, it saddens me. I wonder how bad the gambler felt.
That's so bad that if this happens to me I could have thrown the damn device, hasn't happened to me yet but I hope it will not it's so frustrating to imagine trying to cashout but the device is not working, especially on the crash game where you have to be fast, every second counts on a crash game if you have a heart problem and this happens to you, you will feel dying out of frustration.

Man, I just cannot imagine the pain that the person felt when he saw that lost. When you have no control over your device due to some glitches, you can just see your winnings slipping away from your fingertips. The endless possibilities that the person thought of the things he could have spent on will be painful for him in the coming days.

Back when in college, I used to accompany my brother to several casinos. Sometimes he wins but frequently he losses most of his earnings monthly.

I remember that there was this specific day where I accompanied him and he betted $300 worth of his savings that night. He already won $200 but he got greedy and lost all of the money he earned. Unfortunately for him also, the day after that gambling incident was our vacation with the family- so he spent the whole vacation contemplating about his loss.
412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A brief advice for the newbie gamblers. on: January 12, 2024, 01:07:23 PM
We countlessly experiences new gamblers on daily basis in the gambling boards. Not just in this platform of
a mere gambling discussion but in a reality of gambling. So briefly, I call to your attentions the newbie gamblers to be aware that>>>
"Responsible gambling is cordially adhered by your audible alertness to realize that temptations as irresponsible gambling is inspired by your desperacies of making profits or recovering your losts".

Fellow experienced gamblers, your brief contributions would also be valuable.

I mean, the proof is on the pudding- countless of boards being created daily in this section discussing their personal experience with gambling. Some may share their profits/winnings, but majority of the players share one thing in common- which are losing and the dangers of addiction.

Naturally when a gambler losses on their games, the initial reaction of players is to recover their losses by gambling once again. Unfortunately, this creates an endless cycle where the gambler stays until he/she wins. In a not-so-ideal world, the player will definitely incur a losing streak until he/she has exhausted their resources.

Again, the proof of the dangers of gambling is already written by blood. Lots of people have already lost their livelihood and even their lives due to gambling addiction. That is why, always keep your head above the ground and be conscious with yourself whenever you gamble.
413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think women will make better gamblers by their nature? on: January 12, 2024, 12:29:31 PM
Women by nature are more conservative than men. They are better manager of resources and know how to prioritise things. This is what is needed for successful gambling because with it, the chances of using funds meant for basic needs in gambling will be minimised.

So do you think women will make better gamblers than men?

Hmm I do not think so.

There are many factors that may determine on how a person gets naturally addicted to something. With your statement that women are better manager of resources, this can also apply to men as well. At the end of the day, it is on how a person approaches gambling with the right kind of mindset in order for them to prevent any mismanaging of funds.

In conclusion, I doubt that gender is a factor that determines if a person manages his/her expenses well when it comes to gambling. I have visited tons of physical gambling stores and observed equal amounts of men and women gambling without any discrimination.
414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drug (cocaine) addicts compromises gambling potentials on: January 11, 2024, 04:21:45 PM
My question>>>
* Is gambling really to be blamed about the laundry drug addict guy who engaged in gambling in order to gain more money and afford his drugs?
Because to me, he has been a drug addict before began to gamble and he strictly gambled consciencelessly just to make profit and buy himself this assorted unhealthy pills (drugs). So, I don't see anyway of gambling being responsible for his irresponsible reputations with his mentality of what triggered him to gambling and his inabilities to control his gambling.

Nope- gambling is not to be entirely blamed on this but it further enhanced his prior drug addiction.

I agree with what you said- he was already an addict to begin with. Let us take away gambling for a second: most likely he would find another venture (not gambling) in order to continue sustaining that kind of lifestyle. It just so happened that gambling was his game of choice in furtherance of this first addiction, which was drug abuse.

Quote
* Was the political social influencer right to say getting to an end of online sport bets in the app stores and the moderating of gambling would regain back the devalued currency and attracts a growing economy back to the nation a right acceptable and good research?

It may affect but removing online sport bets in app stores will not have that kind of massive effect.

There are many factors that contribute to the devaluing a currency of a certain country. In contrary to his statement as well, gambling generates tons of revenue in a certain country if they are regulate by the government properly.

Take Philippines as an example, the revenue generated by their gambling establishments is the number one (1) responsible for the most generated money annually. This speaks on how gambling can definitely have a positive effect on the economy if properly established and regulated.

Quote
* Is gambling really to be blamed in ruining lifes?

Gambling contributes on why people ruined their lives. In a way, gambling clouds one's judgement and rationality to the point that they only seek the satisfaction of winning. In order to profit also, they would have to continuously bet.

While the approach of a person mainly contributes on how he/she gets to be successful, gambling somehow clouds this and necessarily affects the judgement of people. So in a way, gambling does ruin the lives of people who DO NOT KNOW how to control their urges.
415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you willing to bet $50 spin for a chance to win $42 million? on: January 11, 2024, 03:04:37 PM
This thread is inspired by the thread created by sportsbet.io about a lucky bettor who won $42 million on a $50 spin.

So let's discuss. This kind of win can be compelete considered based on luck, and the winner is so lucky that he hit the Jackpot. However, since the goal here is $42 million and you can only win that if you would bet $50 for one spin. So, do you have the courage to do that?

Is this a one time thing or is it a regular game where every spin costs $50?

Personally, $50 is a huge amount of money especially to someone who lives in a third-world country. That $50 can most likely fund my food for one (1) week or even two (2) weeks if I make myself frugal. In all honesty, $50 is just too much for your average gambler. With that amount of money in the jackpot, most likely the chances of a person winning is just incredibly and significantly low.

Bearing this in mind, if there are other incentives rather than the jackpot that a person may win every spin, then the $50 spin may have a market for other high-roller gamblers. Naturally, if you are rich, $50 is just nothing to you- people would definitely spend a minimum of $1000 on that game alone to check their chances.
416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Long-term profitable strategies on: January 11, 2024, 12:46:24 PM
Elements of profitable strategies are also quite interesting for discussion. I know that for long-term profitability, risk management is of course much more important. However, what is equally important is what leads to profit in addition to risk management.
If your profitable strategy is of a proprietary nature, if it is secret and you do not want to write about it, then you can limit yourself to general reasoning. I think that this discussion will be useful for everyone and perhaps it will prompt some of their own promising ideas.

I am a firm believer that there can be no long-term strategy, in general, in gambling.

Due to the presence of house edge among gambling platforms, it is inevitable that they will definitely be profitable due to statistics. More than a long-term strategy, I believe that there is also a "short-term strategy" in order to maximize your winnings, for example:

  • Cashing out your winnings as soon as you profit even if it is relatively low;
  • Knowing when to stop despite a losing streak;
  • Choosing which games to play as this can affect your winnings chances; and
  • Choosing the right casino in order to maximize the rewards and bonuses

Those are some of the short-term strategy that can definitely affect your winning chances in a given game. Remember, always start slow and build-up the momentum. If you feel like the luck is against your side, call it a day and try again in the future.
417  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you have a hard time bringing new people to the forum? on: January 10, 2024, 03:27:45 PM
I don't know if any of you faced this challenge, if yes, how were you able to proceed?

Back in 2017, I tried bringing a few of my friends back in college into this forum. I explained it to them that there is an opportunity to earn money as a form of investment by understanding on how cryptocurrencies work. I had success back then as I was able to recruit 2-3 of my friends but unfortunately, they are not active anymore ever since the merit system was introduced.

While earning money can potentially be as a sideline, they are missing tons of other information that can benefit them in the long run. Unfortunately, they were too focused on raking up and joining on signature campaigns that they got lost in translation.

Bearing this on mind, I tried explaining this forum to one of my friends in law school and I had success in turning them into a crypto enthusiast. Fortunately, he is into mining right now and he really bought a rig with all the knowledge he gained from all channels.

In conclusion, it really depends on how you introduce this forum to your friends/colleagues. If you explain it to them in a very short-sighted manner, they may quickly lose interest when they may encounter a hindrance (e.g. like what happened to my college friends when the merit system was implemented); but if you explain it to them in a broad scope with deep understanding, then they may stay and even surpass the knowledge that you have (e.g. like my friend who mines currently).
418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: January 10, 2024, 02:46:39 PM
My question is do you think gambling every day is better? From his reasoning and points of narrations.

No- it goes both ways: the more you gamble, there is that higher chance of you failing.

By basing it on statistics alone, the house will always win due to the presence of house edge that will always give the slight advantage to the gambling platform. The logic of your friend is nothing but fallacious- remember that the more you gamble, the more exposed you are to the risk of losing at the same time. While there may be occasional moments of winning, losing will always be inevitable.

If you're an old money, it's fine to gamble for every day because you have a business or investment that can generate money without you need to work.

But if you're just a someone who's trying to achieve more money to build your own wealth, gambling every day is definitely time wasting as you can use the time to learn a new skill or search for an another opportunity.

I definitely agree with you.

Gambling is all about perspective- it depends on how you view either as a form of entertainment or as a way for extra income. People who have the money to fund their gambling satisfaction may see it as a form of entertainment; but to those who view it as a form of income, then you expose yourself in the risk of losing.
419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does it looks responsible as woman telling husband you gamble? on: January 10, 2024, 01:41:24 PM
The point is my husband doesn't know that i have been secretly gambling and involving myself with gambling discussions and the rest, So, this morning when i woke something in me keeps telling me i should let him know to understand my involvement  to practice gambling.

Does this worth telling him or not please i need you collective ideas.

Of course it is definitely worth telling your husband about your gambling ventures.

When a man and a woman gets married, there should absolutely be no secrets to each other no matter how difficult it may be to accept to the other party. This secret involves anything that may or may not affect the relationship- so naturally you should tell him about your gambling activities. Not only this may keep the marriage intact, but this may also be helpful for you to understand better the risks that may be involved in gambling.

At the end of the day, your husband deserves to know everything especially that the money that is being used in gambling is part of the absolute community of your marriage. Naturally, every expenses must be audited for proper financing.
420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you be worried or comfortable seeing your elderly mother gambling? on: January 10, 2024, 01:35:03 AM
Why should I not be comfortable if she is gambling responsibly. But I will prefer she should do it online instead of offline using betting agent. Because as I saw that image, that is a betting agent shop and I will not like to see my mother there. This is because in my country, only young guys are common in such a place and that would be an embarrassment for my mother and me. But if it is online that she is doing it, I will not be worried at all if she is gambling responsibly.

I find this funny because this is what I am experiencing now!

To tell you my story, I often meet with my GF almost every week. She has a grandmother who frequently gambles (e.g. 2-3/week) using the funds which should be allocated for the monthly obligations on their household. From time-to-time, the grandmother wins but she mostly losses her bets in the process. As a way to recuperate with the stress, she often goes ballistic inside their house, displacing her stress with her family members.

However, I want to know as forum members from different parts of the world your thought's towards this based on your environmental perspective towards gambling irrespective of whosoever is involved be it young or elderly in as much as the individual is of gambling age.

Based from the story that I just mentioned above, I can have an answer to your question OP based purely on my experience.

Most elderly people do not have things to do at their house. They either just sleep or do household chores in a daily basis to kill some time. In order to at least be satisfied, they often gamble as a way of their entertainment since they do not work anymore.

Unfortunately, this brings tons of problems if they do not have the urge to control their gambling fantasies and satisfaction like what happened to the grandmother of my girlfriend. While I do emphathize with her grandmother, still, that cannot be a reason for her to continue gambling since she is also using the funds for their monthly household operations.
