581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: April 13, 2023, 01:30:33 PM
Yeah, this championship fight needs to happen, and so is the other sanctioning body's championship and eliminator. The Inoue going up in weight created this kind of mess.

What? How Inoue created this mess? In the first place, he already achieved all things that were needed in the bantamweight division and it just makes sense for him to move up. No need to stay in the 122 division.

It's Jason Moloney who created this mess because he backed off this fight.

It's just that there's no official date released but it's not a problem. We just need to wait.

Yes, Inoue already proved enough that there's nobody at 118 that can be a threat to his throne that needed to be eliminated and it's safe to say that he already swept the good calibers at 118 that's why he climbed to the next weight class to see for himself if he can still dominate the division that is just few pounds away from 118.

And for Donaire's journey, he could've settled this fight already if the Jason Moloney didn't backed out from the mandatory fight. He's the one who should've received something like a punishment because it's a mandatory fight and nobody can back away from it but Moloney did a safe route and found another vacant belt.
582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Thought On Gambling Strategies on: April 11, 2023, 10:29:30 PM
I think people don't understand that there is no strategy in gambling. Gamble but consider your spendings on it as an entertainment expense. Got luck on your side and won? Good. If you don't you still had fun.

Gambling is never a parade of skills but literally it’s more on luck, and so even if you have the best strategies to gamble, that won’t guarantee profits as gambling is still mostly dependent on luck. However, if you have the luck and great working strategies altogether, I think profiting ahead is clear enough. But if you have strategies alone, that won’t make you easily profit in gambling. So gamble for fun, and not for profits.
583  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't invest money you can't afford to lose out of greed. on: April 11, 2023, 09:53:26 PM
I've noticed that a lot of people are entering the cryptocurrency sector to invest in one or two projects because they've heard that bull run is on away coming and that have  many  people have plans to invest a sizable sum of money in some way to ensure they don't miss the opportunities.

I want to use this opportunity to warn newbies not to be deceived by the idea of becoming wealthy quickly by investing a sizable sum of money that they cannot afford to lose in the cryptocurrency industry. They should be aware that no any crypto advisor will advise anyone to invest their entire life savings in any project that it will do 10x, since nobody can predict the future of crypto industry, and with that  anyone who claim so, is a lier.

In fact, I would advise newbies to stay away from altcoins and only invest in Bitcoin in order to be on the safe side of the game, as there will be many shitcoins that will not recover after this bear market.

As a beginner, don't be overly eager to invest in any project without conducting your own thorough research.
DYOR before you invest, that way you will learn which coins have potentials for investment and which coins are seen weak and mostly not profitable. To make it safe, invest only in bitcoin. And when you invest, invest at your own risk. That means invest only what you can afford to lose, otherwise if you lose, you will suffer its consequences. And never invest with greed, that is a useless thing to consider in the first place.
584  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Online casino always take risks? on: April 11, 2023, 09:19:48 PM
Whenever some person or company starts a casino online or in a physical location, they hire personnel and calculate a budget so they can cover the initial investment.

It is like any other kind of business. If you want to open a restaurant, you need to buy raw food, pay cooks, buy machines and ovens. Sometime must pass by, before they see some profit.

The advertisement part also is a percentage of that initial budget, by the way.

When comes to security, I would say that in order for one to be safe, just to stick to casinos which have a good track record, are provably fair and are properly registered in their jurisdiction. If you ever feel like trying a small and relatively unknown casino, do so with small deposits.
If you want to start an online casino, at least you have a good amount of capital that will be sufficient to all the basic needs to make a business work and be competitive with other casino businesses in the market. So these business owners must literally prepared huge funds for advertisements and giving of bonuses and promotions since these are a necessity if you are starting an online casino. However, on how to gamble safely, do not play in casinos that are not yet known and established, make sure to play on reputable and known casinos to avoid getting scam in the future.
585  Economy / Economics / Re: Is some certain lifestyle a waste of money and time ? on: April 11, 2023, 08:54:10 PM
of course, such a habit is a waste. if they get together and discuss business or business development, then that's normal, but I think you can do it at your friend's house, or somewhere cheap. However, if I were you too, then I would do the same. maybe an occasional get-together with them would be a good thing. however, if it's most days, and spending a lot of money for nothing, or even just getting drunk, I'd probably look elsewhere.
However, success sometimes starts from the association you have. if your friends are businessmen, then you will be compelled to do business that may be bigger than your friends. however, if the environment you say is like that, well you will also end up wasting money in the end.
As long as it’s abusive, then it will always be a waste of money and time. Even if you are making a great conversation with your friends, the fact that you do it almost every day and every day you are spending money on liquors, for me that’s a total waste of money. You could have spend it to your family with worthy things. Just never follow your friends’ habit, otherwise you’ll also get broke months after.
586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to convince a sceptical person to buy Bitcoin ? on: April 11, 2023, 08:40:02 PM
First of all, why would you be convincing people to invest in Bitcoin? Allow them to have the initiative to do so. We are all taking the risk in this industry given that there's no certainty of what will happen to this market for the next days, months, or years. Convincing ain't my thing; you'd be blame from doing so once they fell to something which would yield to a negative outcome.

Next is, a sceptical individual doubts everything unless proven. Validity and feasibility of something will be questioned and just imagine how much time you will need to make them buy something; they'd more likely have huge assumption if you ever managed to get through them. Keep in mind how hard it is to endure market price downfalls. If you know to yourself that the individual you are trying to convince won't be patient and won't be capable of financial endurance, then consider not pushing them in this industry just to safezone them from regrets.
I believe convincing a skeptical person isn’t worth of our time because no matter what we say or how we educate them, they will never believe unless it will be visible with their own eyes. And no matter how we will explain bitcoin to them, at the end of the day, they will still criticize it in a negative way. That’s why convincing isn’t my thing too. If they want it, they will surely make an effort to research about it and then take risk after once they are convinced with its potentials.
587  Economy / Gambling / Re: Enough to consider a casino scam? on: April 10, 2023, 10:51:02 PM
Requires the same old solution, always read the Terms and Conditions, this is the main mistake that almost everyone makes when trying to gamble on an online casino, read the terms and conditions, there is probably something you will come across that you won't like and this will safe you your time and some problems, however, if you have found yourself in this mess you have to comply with the rules to withdraw your money.
Actually it's all because gamblers are sometimes too lazy to read all the casino rules. When they get into trouble or accidentally violate casino rules, gamblers blame the casino.
This is a small mistake that gamblers make that can end up in a big problem.
As we often see in this forum there are tons of people who complain about scam casinos but when the casino representatives explain the complainants are against the casino rules.
Gamblers become too lazy to read the ToS because of their obsession to eagerly make profits. To avoid getting into trouble, make sure to understand well the terms and conditions in each gambling casino so that if there are instances like this, you will not resort into panicking and spread some lies that this certain casino is cheating and scamming.
588  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: one mistake that crypto beginners should be aware of ? on: April 09, 2023, 10:18:19 PM
I think it shouldn't necessarily be a "specific" mistake but something considered a "learning" mistake. Like something "too good to be true" posts and offers, ending up as a scam. I believe that anyone of us has probably experienced a scam one way or fraud possibly like:,
  • Investing in coins believing it's going to be a life-changer
  • Trading with someone here and not verifying the amount that they have control of the wallet.
  • Believing in paying like signals but it's really within your control on how you are going to proceed with trading

There are a lot of things beginners should learn, just make sure they understand what they are doing in the first place.
I think what’s more important here is that they will not be consistent in repeating the same mistakes again as those mistakes are only good at the beginning and should only serve as a motivation to learn more and discover more. And remember OP, we should not only focus to a single mistake but all mistakes in general and correct them so we won’t be losing our money again because we fail to avoid them.
589  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you consider yourself as a risk taker if you buy bitcoin? on: April 09, 2023, 07:56:30 PM
Basically, yes. Everything that is called investments is considered as risky by any means, so those who do that especially investing in bitcoin as its high volatility are called risk taker.
But technically speaking it depends on the amount of someone invest, tolerance and your objectives and it its subjective knowing there are degree for risks.
Even living life itself has also its own risks, so it’s certain that we are risk takers from the start. And eventually there comes higher risk once we start investing in risky and volatile investments like what is bitcoin all about. But becoming more knowledgeable and even skillful in bitcoin will somehow reduce the risk and instead of committing more mistakes and fail, we tend to be even more cautious so we will end up bitcoin investment a successful and profitable one.
590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Doge worth investing? on: April 06, 2023, 07:52:46 PM
I think Investing in Doge is a matter of personal choice and depends on individual risk tolerance. While Doge has seen significant growth in the past, it is important to consider the potential risk and volatility associated with the cryptocurrency market and it is very important to have a risk management plan in place and avoid investing more than what you can afford to lose.

Just like any other coins in the market, all of them have their own risks entailed including the volatility.

But Dogecoin, I can't blame if there are some people who are investing on it but they should know that it is really much more risky than any other leading altcoins in the market right now because Doge is just a meme coin with almost no utility. This particular altcoin wouldn't be trading at such low price if there is actually any utility in it at all. And that significant growth you're talking about is really not that significant because that was just temporary and probably, we already know who's behind it.
591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Nghitumbwa (May 3) on: April 06, 2023, 07:21:52 PM
OP @bisdak40 should change the date on the title, it's not May 3 it's May 13 people may think that the fight is over when it's still 8 days to go Casimero is all hype on this fight he wants to give his local fans something they will really enjoy, his last four fights are held abroad and last time he fought in the Philippines was in 2019 so I expect Casimero to knock Nghitumbwa to please the local fans its part of his comeback fight to regain the title if he is serious in his weight management he will be champion again.

Update:  my bad I think I still have an April fools day hang up on me but still the date should be May 13 not May 3

Thanks for the heads up mate.

Will change the title reflecting the final date of the fight now.

Per interview of Casimero here in Cebu, there is an ongoing negotiation for him to fight Inoue this December, heard it directly on his mouth so this might be true or maybe another April Fools act hehe

Yes, that came right from his mouth and hopefully that's true though because we all know that we wanted it ever since the both of them are still on their previous weight class. Anyway, let's tackle about that sometime in the future as that's not yet sure, what we have now in-front of us is the real deal and John Riel Casimero really needed this in his favor to lift his position in the ladder.

Don't be deceived about that news as you guys have already knew that it is not yet sure that it will indeed happen this coming December of 2023. Both camps haven't released any statements regarding about that bout nor an article was released that it was actually rumored because both camps are starting their discussion behind closed doors.

We all know that both of them still have their own respective fights to finish and that means that both of them are still busy preparing for it, other than that, the fate of that fight is also relying on the outcome of their respective fights. So, my take is that it is safe to assume that there are no ongoing discussions on both camps.
592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: April 06, 2023, 06:58:30 PM
We have seen how Manny Pacquiao live his life now and for sure that's the best example for all those fighters
who will have that same privilege. They need to make sure that before over spending the money they've got
something that will allow them to still have a comfortable life away from boxing.

Pacquiao is a good example of a successful post-boxing life, due to his careful management of his finances. However, in terms of net worth, Donaire is not as wealthy as Pacquiao with a reported net worth of only $5 million according to an article.

https://www.celebritynetworth.com/richest-athletes/richest-boxers/nonito-donaire-net-worth/

Donaire just have to be smart in investing his money since he already have enough to invest.

Safe to say that Nonito Donaire also got his own share of investments that he has made all through out his career in the boxing industry, we might not know about it because most of his life are private and not as transparent as his fellow countryman, Manny Pacquiao. But it's undeniable, Manny Pacquiao is just on a different level and he already secured his family in terms of wealth up to his great grandkids in the future.
593  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 06, 2023, 05:43:09 PM
So who do you guys think deserves the MVP for the year? I've been hearing a lot about Joel Embiid on sports outlets like ESPN and my local Chicago sports radio station.  I know that he's been right in the race with Jokic over the past couple years and there's been a lot made about how Embiid should have maybe won one of those.  I also saw Doc Rivers "aggressively" proclaiming that there's nothing left to discuss, Embiid is the clear cut MVP already.

Congrats to anyone who bet on this..it seems he's got it all but locked up.

Joel Embiid literally deserved it! He's been chasing this MVP award for years already and while leading the stats in the past 2 years, the only thing that prevented him to have that award is his injuries in the late season which will cost him that award as Jokic will always at his back and ready to pick it up if ever Embiid can't make it. And to sum it up, that is what happened in 2 straight season.

Congrats to Joel Embiid for finally achieving it this season and congratulations to all who bet on him!
594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: April 05, 2023, 08:48:12 PM

I don't see logic in your analysis that since both Tank and Garcia have similar powerful punches, it is impossible for the fight to finish early. On the contrary, it is that exact reason why the fight will probably finish early.

Perhaps the fight won't end early since both boxers are likely to respect each other and not engage in an all-out war from the beginning. Despite their claims of being able to knock each other down easily, both boxers are capable of delivering powerful punches. However, I believe that once they are in the ring, they will feel the strength of their opponent and become more cautious, avoiding a solid punch that could potentially end the fight.

In my opinion, the fight could still end early if it finishes within the first six rounds.

Yes, I do agree. This fight is more likely could end in the middle rounds just like you have mentioned and not on the 1st four rounds as that's a bit overstatement, IMO. Because given that both boxers do have a dangerous punching power, I'm sure that both camps will settle for a hard defense fight while waiting who will commit an error first as they can't afford to give an advantage towards the opposing camp. In most cases, that's what indeed happened in fights like this, both boxers aren't going for an all out war because that will be a huge mistake and won't be aggressive most of the time.
595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 05, 2023, 05:57:50 AM
Some good mismatches today as the season winds down. Thinking I might throw up a parlay bet for the Lakers to beat the Jazz (closest matchup), the Suns to beat the Spurs, the Nuggets to beat the Rockets, and the Bucks to beat the Wizards. Most of those games should be gimmes except maybe the Jazz beating the Lakers. I think the Lakers hot streak will continue though.
If I remember it right, this is where I lost most of my bets last year. It becomes more strange as either they rest their stars or they play the game like it's just a game and not for a common goal when they are in critically need for a win.

I may take the Lakers as one of my parlays and then the Suns to keep their 4th plays in the West, plus they have Durant to make things easy.
Then, I will also take the Warriors -5.5 vs the Oklahoma City Thunders for my single bet. Both teams will be playing so hard that I won't be adding them to my parlays.
Grizzlies -15.5 versus the Trail Blazers, it may be a long shot too but I do think they can cover it with a team that has no stars playing anymore.

I will tail you with the Warriors handicap bet, it's going to be in their home court, and we all know how strong the Warriors is at Chase Center specially in the third quarter wherein they can change the complexion of the game. I also like the chances of T'Wolves against the Nets, T'Wolves ML for me.
Both Warriors and Timberwolves won their respective games, congratulations mate!

I only took a bet on the Warriors favor against the Thunders and nothing else because just like what you've said, they are just hard to beat on their own homecourt. And for the other games that happened earlier, I took a hard pass including that Wolves vs Nets match-up because I was having a hard time choosing as the Nets can still explode in any given time and game.

Quote
The game that I wanted to watch though is the Sixers vs Boston. Number 2 and number 2 seed, this could be interesting game, and see if the Sixers can bounce back. There could be some "predictable games", but who knows, maybe we can see some upsets, hehehe. Most likely will look for live betting and see we can find good odds.
76ers took down the Boston Celtics as Joel Embiid exploded with 52 points and 12 rebounds plus James Harden provided a good help as well for contributing 20 points and 10 assists which brings them to a combined score of 72 points. That's already three-fourths of the Boston Celtics total score, it was a good game though. Didn't saw it coming, really.
596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: April 04, 2023, 07:36:23 PM
Yes, instead of making these fights easier to avoid conflicts in politics, Crawford's got the opposite outcome because his decision to leave the stable of Bob Arum seems to become his biggest nightmare now because he's not getting any good deals after that. I don't know what's the plan of Crawford because the last rumor months back was that he might sign under Eddie Hearn but nothing happened until now.

As far as I remember, Crawford being under the shadow of Top Rank, he is always actively fighting but the only problem is, Crawford didn't get what he wants of fighting a top-ranked boxer which he wants for a long time. Since he parted ways with Bob, not just he ends up fighting a non-popular boxer but also not active much in the ring compared to his Top Rank days.

Now that wee the outcome of his decision, does his decision to leave Arum, a good choice or not?
Arum is a money maker handler in terms of big events/fight it was a mistake in my opinion, but the decision behind is only Crawford can answer. For now, Crawford still hasn't got that mega fight against Spence and instead of facing another champ in his same division to unify the belts, Spence might move forward and accept the fight against Thurman without any belt at risk.

A good choice in terms of his own decision, but career wise and money making wise, leaving Arum means to miss those possible quality fights that Arum can provide.

The only reason why Terence Crawford left the promotional company is because he wanted that unification fight happen as he already knew that if he's still with Arum, his chances to make that fight happen is really low because of the political issues in the boxing industry knowing that Bob Arum wouldn't want to settle for less for most cases.

Other than that, Crawford believed that Arum was the only hurdle in making that bout and fell with the hopes that Al Haymon will offer him that bout if he's flying solo but what happened was way more worse than what he expected. Now, he's all alone, and seemingly don't know what to do next.
597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 04, 2023, 07:14:44 PM
I love the New York Knicks somehow finding a way to steal a win against the strong Cavaliers in their home and without Julius Randle.
Jalen Brunson, 48 monster points! Is he really that small? Grin Who else can score that much at 6'1?!
He's a beast, a low-key beast and I'm sure that is being recognized by most. I can't get over that match because I thought that the first-half shooting machine of Mitchell was already on momentum but then Brunson shows how to beat it.
The knicks are sneaky becoming a team no one wants to see in the playoffs.  They are one of the best road teams and are tough to beat back to back.  They are gritty and withstood a cavs first quarter of 47 points.  No Randle no problem.

And I'm gonna say this someone tell me I'm wrong.  Brunson was the best steal in free agency in the last 10 years.

Dallas declined extending him 4 years for $55mil mid season last year 😂
And there's this now rumor made by how good Knicks are this season and that's to acquire Luka on them. Well, I don't think that it will ever happen and I do agree that Knicks did the right thing by acquiring Brunson.
No one wouldn't want to face them in the playoffs because of how good they are and they are not overrated while we're saying this. It's just common that they're noticeably good and that's why.

As much as I'd like Luka on the Knicks that isn't happening anytime soon.  Why would Dallas give up a generational player for some pieces back and draft picks which are unknowns.  Them trading for kyrie shows they are trying to build around Luka. No once he hits free agency that would be amazing if knicks had the cap space at that position but that's not until 2027.  Luka isn't going anywhere.

I agree. I don't even know what's the basis of that rumor nor where did it came from because it is very highly unlikely that the Dallas Mavericks will trade Luka for the Knicks in-exchange for some 2-3 players and few future picks. The roster of the Dallas Mavericks will remain as is and I believe they will acquire another additional to upgrade their defense because it's already clear that the Mavs duo can't handle it all.
598  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Early Profit can be misleading. on: April 04, 2023, 03:59:33 AM
Sometimes a trader can also make profit in his first trading session and also continue to make more profits ever after the first win.I even see it that when someone wins in the first trading session,it's a sign that trading will bring more profit than loses to the person, because it is always rare that one will win in his first trading session. It is a sign that good luck is about to be unfolded on the person.
I know quite well that trading experience comes from different loses, but one can also use another person to learn and therefore avoid the mistakes he is supposed to make in his first trade, and win rather than losing. Therefore,I am on the opinion that not all trading newbies that win on their first trading session will get difficulties as time goes on in trading, rather,it's a sign that he will be lucky on more future trading.
If they made their first profit in their first try, it can be a sign that they already learned but sometimes a newbie trader can also get lucky and made a profit even if they skip the learning part. This can be the one that is misleading because they will be tempted to try again even if most of their trades are not doing well anymore.

It might be possible to use another person to do trading for you but he is the ones that will learn and benefit more in the future, not you. Will you let that happen? And what if he decided to resign someday? What will happen to you? This is why it's still better to learn and trade on our own. We shouldn't be afraid of the mistakes because they can still be corrected and the losses can still turn into profits later on.
It's a reality that some were able to trade with beginner's luck and end up profiting. But that does not guarantee that if you become profitable today, you will also be profitable the next time you trade. This is quite misleading for beginners as they initially think that when you trade, you will get tons of money after that, not realizing that trading is never easy and one who makes consistent profits may have also experience constant losing at first. However, the mindset of beginner traders will typically improve through his trading experiences.
599  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] Elizabeth Warren says she’s building an anti-crypto army in new campaign on: April 04, 2023, 03:30:30 AM
The most concerning thing that could come from this campaign is someone looking at it and thinking, "Yes, this makes me want to vote for Elizabeth Warren". As a non-politically involved/non-government individual, who in their right mind is thinking that an "anti-crypto army" is something that would be directly beneficial to them and their community? I can only see people who have been scammed in some way that involved cryptocurrency seeing this as a good thing. Elizabeth Warren probably got duped herself, that would explain why she is so anti-crypto Tongue

Analysis aside. The campaign image is a great meme.
Probably, that could be her first reason why she is digging seriously into this "anti-crypto army", trying to convince everyone that this will solve all incidents of scamming as she entirely believe that crypto is anti-humanity. Well, that is her and we can't control her negative thinking towards crypto. However, it's also undeniable that fiat is also involved in different types of scamming, but how come she didn't think of building a campaign on anti-fiat? Imagine if she will win in the election, I cannot expect for a better future of the country. There is no transparency as her decision is clearly a bias.
600  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Investment: Good Debts vs Bad Debts on: April 03, 2023, 10:48:26 PM
I do not distinguish bad debt or good debt because that is a debt that I have to pay at all costs. Borrowing money is not recommended because you will be in trouble if things don't go according to your plan. But if you're calculated and ready to take the risk, borrowing money to start a business or invest in bitcoin is not a bad idea.

I also used to borrow for business and failed, so I do not support anyone borrowing money to invest, but I would not ban someone if they know what they are doing, and even if they fail, they still have a different way of handling it. Borrowing money is not the problem.
If you have a stable main source of income, then it’s not a bad idea to borrow a minimal amount to start your investment. As long as you’re capable to pay, then that won’t give you hassle. But always know that the best way to invest is through your spare money. So that if you lose and and goes wrong with your investment, at least you never have to worry paying the amount you have used up.
