581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's safe to say - gambling is a guy thing. on: August 07, 2023, 01:53:45 PM
I don't think gambling is a gender-based thing. Gambling can be played by whomever. The spectrum where you belong to doesn't really matter because if a person finds joy and thinks that it could be of help to them for whatever reason they might have, then it's all okay. Having this some sort of discrimination and gender-bias could even be a great problem because we are already in the 21st century and almost all of us are fighting for equality and equity. And if you don't, you need to re-evaluate yourself and your perspective.

Gambling isn't and shouldn't be only a guy thing because what guys can do, girls can too, as well as other genders. Of course, this excludes the biological aspects that totally differentiate the sexes ability.
582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do 90% of Bettors Lose in Sports Betting in the Long-term? on: August 05, 2023, 04:18:27 PM
Not only with sportsgambling but to all gambling games. Reason? Winning is never certain therefore playing more often would expose you to higher risk. Even if you happened to won big, it'll eventually be turned into loss; you won't win always. Higher exposure means higher risk unless you are lucky enough. Analysis would work indeed in sportsbetting but as we all know, anything could happen within a match. Even underdogs has chances to win and if you would be too greedy of winning because you have a lowe odd bet, then be prepared to suffer big time as well once the unexpected happens. We are all prone to greed and frustration.

Indeed. And adding the fact that there's no such thing as being a 100% lucky, having consistent winnings each time you play and bet and everyday. It's not really impossible, but the probability of it happening in a daily basis, consecutively is just so low. And if ever you belong to that very small percentage, you must really really be a lucky one.

I agree that those people who more frequently bet get higher risk exposure. But that's the thing, the more frequent you bet, the higher your chance in winning. And the higher you bet, the higher your reward can be. It's all depending on you on how you will make it work to your advantage. Because after all, there's nothing such as guaranteed and certain winning. There's always a possibility of losing whatever game it may be.
583  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are memecoins tarnishing the image of crypto? on: August 05, 2023, 02:11:21 PM
It's the scammers who are tarnishing the image of cryptocurrency by using it to scam people, and those people who got scammed got to take the blame for anything so that they can vent their anger out because of their own mistake.

Even though there's still a lot of FUDs in cryptocurrency because of different news, just don't mind it, because we all know that cryptocurrency is not a scam, even meme coin, since it's has a price. Not because you didn't make a profit out of a meme coin because it rug pulled doesn't mean it's a scam.
584  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What do you think about stopping crypto trading or stock trading on Twitter? on: August 05, 2023, 01:28:53 PM
Whale alerts and other cryptocurrency stuff could be found on other social media platforms, if he wanted to stop those kind of thing on his platform, it can't be helped.
If I'm not mistaken, there are groups in facebook who shares their own thoughts regarding about trading but it's rare since most of the time, experienced traders are arrogant and just want to belittle newbie traders.
585  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading tokens or coins, which one is better or gives more profits? on: August 05, 2023, 11:01:07 AM
Tokens are the typical shitcoins, the moment they've been released in the market, expect that it will go down so you have to wait, sometimes it goes up again, sometimes it doesn't.

So I'll go with Bitcoin all the way, rather than risking it to a rich quick scenario token, I'd rather invest to something that I am sure of and confident. Bitcoin is so much more profitable in the long run especially if you have the money to buy more.
586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Abuse ... on: August 04, 2023, 02:55:31 PM
Gambling abuse is simply gambling addiction. Everyone indeed is allowed to play and gamble. Some are financially benefiting from it and some are being entertained from doing so. Gambling for a long period of time within a day does not guarantee abad outcome. What does, is simply instances wherein emotion becomes an innate drive to go for more despite of the situation or circumstances; huge loss. Time after time, either a winning or losing bet, you'd be wanting for more in order to get back with the losses. And once you hit a huge win and have already got back with that amount, you'd be desiring for profit afterwards. Then the unfortunate will again happen, and that would be a cycle. Key player here is our emotion and our discipline with ourselves. Is gambling a dangerous activity? No, it is our intention which is.

You can really relate gambling addiction and gambling abuse. If a person is doing something excessively, he is somewhat abusing his capability to gamble. Going overboard on your spending limitations and time restrictions can be a sign of gambling abuse in terms of player's playing habits. The unstoppable urge of gambling despite having little to no fund for it is an evidence of gambling abuse. Sometimes, priority mismatch and poor decision making are the effects of it too just like any other kinds of vices.

It's just unfortunate how many people fall into this. I just hope that players will learn their lessons to not add up on gambling addict cases to be treated. Because after all, prevention is always better than cure.
587  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does cryptocurrency actually solve any problems? on: August 04, 2023, 01:23:30 PM
I'll be honest, if money is the main issue of your life because you don't have enough, Bitcoin will solve that easily.

If you're going to do cryptocurrency full time, you'll realized that it's better to be your own boss and not work 8 hours a day in a toxic workplace. Bitcoin can give you a lot of money if you know what you should do, a simple buy and sell at the right moment is good enough to make profits but trading is the best if you want more, though you'll need a lot of money and experience in order to make more profits.

588  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bold step to invest my fiat in Bitcoin on: August 04, 2023, 12:43:45 PM
Very well done.

Storing fiat in banks or in your home is useless, it will just be spend on something not valuable and will vanish in no time for sure. Investing it on Bitcoin is a very boss move, especially you only bought small amount just to try it out first is a good one too. Once you experience the profits you could make in cryptocurrency, you would never store your cash in your bank or in your home.

Just don't do panic selling, it'll ruin your profits in the long term process.
589  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 18, holding my bitcoin and looking forward :) on: August 04, 2023, 11:36:24 AM
You are really going to need a part-time job since you've said that you're still a student for you to avoid selling your bitcoin because you need some cash to pay your bills and your needs.

I don't recommend waiting 'till 2025, sell some portion of your holding when bitcoin reach $69,000 and sell the rest when it makes another all time high price, which we all know that's gonna happen after the halving. The next move would be waiting for the dump, to buy again and hodl for the next halving.
590  Economy / Economics / Re: Reason why you will never become rich on: August 03, 2023, 01:58:51 PM
I agree.

Cutting ties with toxic family is the best thing to do to save yourself and to bring bright future for your own. Being used by toxic family like making you their retirement plan is the worst thing ever, because you have no responsibility or whatsoever to be their retirement plan in the first place. It's not bad to help them but to the where they are obligating you, that's a red flag.

It's not gonna make you rich instantly but at least your mental health is safe without toxic people in your life. A healthy life and a clear mind will always bring you something good.
591  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation overpowers the value of money on: August 03, 2023, 12:57:58 PM
Inflation exist because of fiat, for me they are just one.

Anything that can be control by the government can be manipulated by them, and makes thing worst without them being exposed of taking this kind of problem as an advantage to take their people's money. The higher the inflation, the more taxes they could gain for the entire population of their nation. Only wealthy people are not being affected by inflation, only the poor ones suffer and the Government doesn't even care at all.

Well, they'll do little something about it just to show the public they actually "care" and they're "doing" their job as public servants.
592  Economy / Economics / Re: what do we thinking about investment target? on: August 03, 2023, 12:19:28 PM
Inflation is not a new thing, but it hurts people's wallet these days because of things getting out of hand while only having minimum wage.

Also, most of the people who are minimum wage earners wouldn't have anything left to invest in something especially if they have a family to feed, and bills to pay. The real problem is not the inflation, but because of some Government that's not willing to help its people to beat inflation. Most of them are still not increasing the minimum wage even though they are aware that it is not enough wage these days.
593  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who is to be blamed, the gambler or the betting agent on: August 02, 2023, 12:20:59 PM

If it is wrong for the owner to give the loan then the borrower is more guilty. Since the owner operates a casino or gambling business, he can certainly provide loans to grow his business. On the other hand, the person taking the loan should also be aware of whether he can repay the loan amount or not. When providing loans, sometimes such situations have to be accepted. It would have been better if the financial condition of the borrower could have been well known before giving the loan, then it would have been possible to prevent such a situation.

Both of them have fair shares of wrong in this scenario. The owner shouldn't have provided a loan in the first place if there's really no existing feature of such in his casino. Additionally, someone shouldn't be granted with one without knowing the financial capacity to pay of the borrower. In this case, he was not on his guard and do not expect bad things from happening. You can say that he trusted the gambler to pay, however, it became a trouble to him.

Meanwhile, the gambler has his wrongs too. He shouldn't have borrowed if he knew he can't pay. It is the debtor's responsibility to pay his dues, and he must know that already to avoid inconveniencing others and himself as well because of the additional interest generated from the debt as time passes by. But he insisted to take a loan and didn't bothered to pay at all. It's such a shame that there are people who are like this.

Hopefully, there will be no cases such as this in the future and the players and casino owners will learn from here already. Because money matters should be taken seriously and responsibly.
594  Economy / Gambling / Re: Enough to consider a casino scam? on: August 02, 2023, 10:50:27 AM
Most of the time when a casino is a scam and they do not want to pay they will argue that you violated their TOS in some way or form, and while you could be completely sure this was not the case they will never budge, as doing so will mean they are basically admitting they tried to scam you and now they are backtracking.

However while common sense should dictate that a casino like that will not last long, we have at least one example of a casino which has been scamming their customers for years and the casino still find ways to gain new customers somehow.

And that is a sad reality. Most people are not yet aware of these scams yet. They still fall for some sort of marketing gimmicks along with the online casino's bonuses that are often too obvious to be a scam but people still does catch those. Casino's like giving a bonus such as added hit rate when they deposit $100 dollars. Or just as mentioned b the OP, the casino's purposefully give you difficulty on withdrawing your funds until you gave up asking for it. Some closes some do not. Most reopens just with another name.
Such methods usually occur in shady casinos, small casinos or casinos that are new but cannot have enough income to cover the whole budget so decide to cheat by scamming the gamblers.
Actually, if every gambler is not easy interested with fake promotions and only plays at big and trusted casinos, of course they can avoid casino scams, but most gamblers want to find new experiences and move around casinos or be tempted by some profitable bonus promotions, so it's easy to get caught in in a scam casino.

Every gambler's expertise and experience must be honed so that they can easily determine a reputable and trusted casino.
Unfortunately, when faced with a promotional bonus, most gamblers forget about the risks that could occur.

It isn't really surprising especially if the casino is only new, hasn't made a name and reputation to uphold yet, and seems sketchy with big and enticing offers, only to find out they have a small resource fund. This is why people should be wary of the scams and schemes lurking around. If you aren't going to be careful and will be blinded by the sparkling offers, then you sure are to fall victim in this kind of fraud. And once you fall victim, the money you worked hard to have will all just be put into waste. And let's be honest here, there's only a small hope for you to recover what you've lost since these scams usually appear out of nowhere and vanishes to thin air once they got what they wanted. Hence, one must really be vigilant in distinguishing which one is worth it and which one should even be glanced upon.
595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering requirements for withdraw on: August 02, 2023, 09:55:31 AM
whatsoever terms and conditions that they would be having neither on your deposit or wagering requirement. It would really be just that normal that they would be asking out such requirement and all of platforms is like this
There may ask for KYC or not but regarding deposits they must have a wagering requirement. If they have no wagering requirement then they would be working like an exchanger and a lot of scammers will use the gambling platform to hide their identity as a lot of crypto gambling sites usually do not ask for KYC.

I agree with this.

It's really important for casinos to establish certain requirements so that their business won't be abused. Since there are a lot of people who don't really uphold good moral compass and integrity, it's crucial to build regulations to be followed by any player who will agree with the terms of service and policies of the casino site. It's just on the player's end whether they would agree to such or not and just find another casino that caters their preferences. Hence, it's really important to read and understand what's stated in the TOS before confirming to agree with it. Otherwise, you'll just end up blaming the casino and regretting at the end because you overlooked something significant in the first place.

And I also agree that there should really be a specific wagering amount that is reasonable so that the players will not take advantage of the casino site as some sort of exchanger or instrument to their illegal activities.
596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Chat GTP destroy poker on-line gambling??? on: August 02, 2023, 08:39:00 AM

In developing technology and improving casino work systems, I believe the team has a far superior advantage in front of gamblers so that any gambler's efforts to be able to win in every game must have been anticipated by the team that works to operate gambling sites.
Only those fools who believe using AI can actually beat the casino or house edge.
The awareness that casinos have developed far ahead of us must always be kept in mind so that there is no desire or exaggeration of AI as the most sophisticated strategy that can help to win in a casino game.

AI may be smart enough because it can provide a lot of information needed, but in a casino game, the game system is regulated so that it is impossible for AI to guess or provide information about the course of the game.

These casino's won't let AI to dominate the gambling industry in the first place. For sure these online websites and even physical casinos have their terms of service as well as protocols to be followed so that players won't have the chance to abuse the system and the existing technological advancements. In terms of online casinos, probably the tech devs are monitoring strictly the activities of the players and are flagging those accounts that are suspicious. Additionally, it's most likely that they have a system that detects the third party application if there is any that aims to make the game in favor to the player using any AI.

Indeed, AI is smart enough to make things fast and convenient nowadays but it still has its limitations. It has ethical considerations to abide as well, especially chatgpt that is the main AI mentioned here in this thread.
597  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: August 01, 2023, 03:54:22 PM

I fully agree that a demo account cannot be useful in real trading. There are no necessary emotions or excitement, the player by and large does not care about the outcome of transactions. Therefore, a demo account is needed only for a full acquaintance with the interface. For example, I have never played Slots, and I have no idea by what laws the winnings are calculated there. Therefore, for me, the best way out will be to try this type of casino games without money. To see if I like to play like that. In the end, we come to gambling not only to get results, but also emotions. And you can get a positive experience only if you like the interface and dynamics of the game.

I beg to differ. Having demo accounts can make a difference. It might not be as noticeable as it seems but aside from making people acquainted to the user interface and the nature of how it works, it also help people to practice and test the waters first before actually betting and depositing an actual amount. Demo accounts can be your training ground before the actual event which you can try to enhance your knowledge and skills while practicing. You can also try to make few techniques and strategies in which you can apply to the real deal. It's basically how you will utilize demo accounts to your advantage since most of it are free of charge, so you won't really lose a thing. The downside is of course, you won't also gain anything.
598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: August 01, 2023, 01:50:34 PM

Following your statement, indeed there are people who really push their way to continue betting even the amount of money they lose inside gambling is way high from the usual budget, with desperation, instead of stopping those addicted gamblers will find ways to continue to the point that they will be borrowing money, selling their things or even to do illegal things just to please their lust of playing, those kinds of mindsets are already alarming and they needed deeper attentions.

If they are willing to take that therapy with an open arm and a good self-will, chances of stopping or moving away from this kind of addiction is possible, else, they are going to waste time and lot of money and it will result it to nothing at all.

Indeed. Awareness of the problem and its acceptance plays a significant role in recovering from gambling addiction. Once someone falls into addiction, it requires medical intervention from the professionals. Treatment is necessary as well as counseling and guidance from the medical practitioners. This is to avoid encountering relapse and to have a successful progress about treating the addiction from its roots and not just on the surface.

Although it could be costly which is why most people don't receive such treatment and becomes more and more addicted into it as time goes by. Hopefully, there will come a time wherein medical help is more affordable and accessible to everyone. And hopefully there will be more seminars about the awareness of gambling consequences so that people will also know about the negative effects, not just the positive ones.
599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: August 01, 2023, 12:47:58 PM
I know someone who gambles a lot in secret and everything leaked out after he got married, this happened when the man lost his job, she was not complaining about gambling when the man was getting his salary per month, until no more money was coming in, it's true that most men are into gambling than women but pray that you don't have an addict as a wife or husband.

It's just like an example from my neighborhood. The guy lied to his girlfriend, and it continued even after they got married and had a few kids (I'm surprised she didn't see the warning signs, but maybe there's some truth to the "love is blind" thing). But anyway, the whole thing fell apart when his debts piled up so much that various shady characters started coming to their home and threatening his family. They have now separated, the children live with their mother, and they are still arguing in court about the division of property. It could have easily resulted in the wife and children becoming homeless, turning this into a very tragic story. Fortunately, her parents and the local community stepped in and provided her with a safe place to stay and all the help and support she needed.

It's so saddening to hear stories such as this really happen because of lack of discipline and irresponsibility combined. It's really important to acknowledge the red flags early on to prevent bad things from happening. Unfortunately though, most people mistake red flags as some sort of challenge when it's not. It's a warning sign that you must acknowledge to run as fast as you can to avoid having miserable life afterwards. But I guess some people have a hard time leaving because of trauma bonding or thinking they can change their partners when they can't. At all.

Nonetheless, it's good to hear that your community and the parents she have were all supportive and can be relied on. In times like this, intervention is really necessary. Hopefully she gets the right division of the properties as soon as she can and be able to receive child support for their children since kids are growing and so are their needs. It isn't easy to raise a child alone. I hope this time the husband will man up and do his responsibility instead of prioritizing his vices.
600  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Irresponsible behavior at the Las Vegas Casino on: August 01, 2023, 11:50:59 AM

This is why we have rules and regulations, after all even if I could understand if a person was incredibly happy after a big win, there are actions which cannot be tolerated, and going naked in a public space is a big no, anyone that wants to experience something like that could just move to a nudist beach or a similar place in which such attitude is not only allowed but encouraged, but everywhere else this is not allowed and it does not bother me at all this person was arrested.

Right.

Rules and regulations must be followed in order to secure the premises of the casino. It is to ensure that the players will not do anything stupid, illegal, and against the law. The peace of mind of the players and their safety are important after all. There shouldn't be enough reason to tolerate such bad behaviors because other players have a state of mind and space to protect as well. It's okay to act messy in the comforts of their home but not at public spaces. If you know you can't hold your alcohol well, then don't drink.
