681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: November 17, 2023, 02:15:47 PM
Too many games honestly and I don't know what to watch right now seems I'm tired with the early games that just happened in China and SEA region.
Yeah, hard to choose which games to watch. Right now I am watching Virtus.pro against TT somehow hoping for some upsets to see new teams in the mainstream.

Well, for the outcome of Virtus.Pro and Team Team, the game's decided and VP won the match.

Yeah, it was pretty much a one-sided beating. But at least a lesser team knocked down 9 Pandas all the way to the lower bracket. I see some potential in Klim Sani4, although they lost to VP they gave a good fight. I guess they'll be facing a 9 Pandas again or NAVI before facing VP for the region's second slot. BetBoom should clearly get the first slot.

And the additional MENA region also adds more games. But it'll be more interesting as the game expands. I still have no idea about Valve's new system of qualifying for the TI. Maybe a top finish in ESL can earn points.
Yeah, they added more games and also more teams to participate from that region but we've got only two choices from there. It's either Team Falcons or Quest.

Or what if an unknown team will be able to beat it because on the upper bracket, it's possible that one of them will go to the lower bracket and what if some surprise goes from there and they'll be beaten by any of these unknown teams.

The region needs more teams. But it's still interesting who gets the slot between the Falcons and Quest. It'll be a Saudi vs Qatar rivalry, both are super rich and seem willing to spend a lot of money to show dominance. I want to see the other ultra-rich countries of Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai funding their own teams as well.

Within an hour, this match is going to happen. We'll see both teams that have their roster change for the first time, I think that this is going to be a sweep for whoever is going to win.

Team Secret's line up isn't appealling at all for me and I don't think they're strong. Or, they're going to prove me that I am wrong.  Grin

Same here, I don't think the current Secret team is better. I have a bet on OG to win the first map. I'm betting on Liquid and OG all the way to getting the 2 slots for WE.
It's also decided, OG beat Team Secret twice. And as Team Secret goes to the lower bracket, they've kicked Alliance to this qualifier.

Team Secret has a worse team than last season IMO. I even thought Alliance could win their series. I am betting on Tickles to knock them out for good.
682  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Stevenson vs De Los Santos - Nov 16 on: November 17, 2023, 01:39:25 PM
Hopefully, nobody bet on that juicy Shakira Tweeterson by KO/TKO. Cheesy Both Devin Haney, George Kambosos, Ryan Garcia, and Tank Davis' fanbase are quick to ridicule Shakur's performance. It was a boring fight but still a level above Tank and Ryan who need to work their way to get their own title shots. And Haney bashing Shakur as if he is not a boring fighter as well. Cheesy

I believe both are actually capable of landing more. De Los Santos showed his speed and combinations early. But he decided to lose a decision rather than have a real chance of a victory but risked getting tired and then getting stopped in the late rounds. On Shakur's side, he felt early on that De Los Santos indeed had enough speed and combinations to land. Knowing the guy has 14 KOs of his 16 victories, Shakur preferred not to risk letting his hands go and became contented with his jabs and straights as long as he was landing only a little better than De Los Santos.

Navarette deserved as the main event of the fight. Fans were chanting his name. He was lucky enough to escape a majority draw.
683  Economy / Economics / Re: How to survive hyperinflation? on: November 17, 2023, 01:14:10 PM
The safest way to survive hyperinflation, especially during these times when a lot of countries' economies are down and unpredictable is to invest in traditional assets like gold and other minerals and real estate. Bitcoin is not old but since it is not controlled by governments and financial institutions, I am confident about it. If we still need to diversify more of our investments, putting some funds into stocks, bonds, and even some foreign currencies could work well in the long run. I read some techniques of these rich families and this is what they are doing.
684  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 23rd December 2023 on: November 17, 2023, 12:42:15 PM

^ In that image with Arum, Usyk looks smaller than Ngannou he is a champ in WBA and WBO but he hasn't fought tough ones like Wilder. I bet when he is there on top already, he'd be an easy champ to beat by those aspiring ones.  It depends on how agile he still would be after pumping his weight.

In today's generation of heavyweights, Usyk is just a blown-up cruiserweight. If not for his skills and high IQ he'll never have a chance of even getting a title shot. And by the way, he holds the Ring, WBA, IBF, and WBO belts so Fury's WBC belt is the only missing piece to determine the undisputed champion.

For years during AJ and Wilder's undefeated championship reigns, it's always the former favored by the betting odds. AJ has a shorter reign as champion than Wilder but his resume is always better than the American. AJ unified the belts and held 3 while Wilder never tried unifying his belt. Usyk did beat a version of AJ that is not undefeated anymore though while Fury is the only one that gave Wilder losses.

What weight would they fight at?
This is a factor to watch because this certainly affects the way they will fight. If Fury has to eat and drink less for 2 months, it's gonna be a loss for him.

Lol! It's the heavyweight. Fury can eat all he wants but I guess he enters the ring lighter knowing he is fighting someone that has speed and skills. Maybe 250+ or below 265 pounds.
685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 17, 2023, 11:50:59 AM
In a scenario where Lakers gave the farm, like all the picks they could possibly could give, AD and maybe some role players, and get Derozan, Caruso and Lavine, along with Lebron, I do not care who else they have left in that team, that four players alone would be more than enough to be a title contender EASILY. I am not saying they will, we all know that it would be very tough deal, Lakers could easily just trade away some players to get picks from third team, they could just knock on OKC's door, they have like 30+ picks in the next 7 years, they could just grap a few of them, OKC could definitely share some of it, and Lakers could use those along with their own picks they have and AD and role players, its not impossible, and one final push for Lebrons final ring would be possible. If not, this current team is barely playoff levels, would not win a title at all.

LaVine and even Derozan will cost some first-round draft picks which the Lakers do not have. AD in the last few years has been showing signs of being injury-prone, so it'll be very costly in terms of assets to trade him with those Chicago players.

OKC has a lot of future picks but I doubt they'll give up even a single first-round draft at the moment without receiving something worth it. OKC is getting better and it seems they are a serious playoffs team in the next few years. So they might only start trading their future first-round picks when some of its young players mature a bit. Or when someone in their starting position isn't compatible with the rest of the players.
686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the minimum amount of bitcoin or satoshi should hold for poor? on: November 17, 2023, 11:22:49 AM
There is no minimum nor maximum amount of bitcoin to hold OP. The real question is how much a poor can save regularly in order to invest part of it into bitcoin. Remember, only invest amounts that one can afford to lose. Bitcoin is not a sure thing especially when someone is looking for short-term gains, ask those who invested at $60k above. We can hold bitcoin long enough to pass it to our children and the next generations. The most important at least is to only consider selling them when in profit. due to bitcoin's scarce supply, the longer we hold, the higher the rewards.

I hope OP is not planning to borrow money or sell something important in order to invest. Research and study bitcoin first in order to fully understand it. Once you have enough knowledge and you can answer your own questions, that is the perfect time to invest.

ESL One KL region qualifiers are on the way and so far we have :

Liquid vs D2 hustlers are score it's already 1-0 for Liquid.

BetBoom vs Moneymakers and this should be a quick 2-0 for BB.

689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Stevenson vs De Los Santos - Nov 16 on: November 16, 2023, 12:35:22 PM
Yes, it's already fight week, odds hasn't change, Stevenson is the huge favorite so for sure majority of us are looking for a value for our bets already.

Quote
“I can’t wait. It’s going to be very exciting. You’ve got the tough Edwin De Los Santos, but I’m here to whoop his ass,” Stevenson vowed.

https://www.boxingscene.com/shakur-stevenson-de-los-santos-tough-im-here-whoop-his-ass--179238

Shakur by KO is very attractive @3.65, and as per poll he will likely win by this method. And then Shakur by decision @1.38.

The over/under rounds too might be something that we can look at. it's +/- 10.5 rounds.

So is anyone taking these betting odds? I might take a bet on a Tweeterson by KO/TKO. Honestly, I am starting to get annoyed with his trash-talking as if he is a KO artist.

But still, I am very doubtful of De Los Santos since this is his first title fight and this is also his first 12-rounder fight IIRC. And with the level of opponent, he is facing he can get tired if he can't connect. Unless he is training to survive rather than take his chances of winning this fight. If De Los Santos backpedals and tries to counter Shakur, he might survive but he will definitely lose by a wide decision or even a shutout.

I did not expect this fight to happen on a weekday since championship fights happen during weekends except in Japan where they have their own ways.
690  Local / Pamilihan / Re: LENDING SECTION HERE (Mores Funds Available - Wanted Borrowers! on: November 16, 2023, 12:22:52 PM

Dahil noong nangailangan kayo, pinagbigyan kayo.

Ayos at naging active ulit thread nato.

Cheesy
691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: November 16, 2023, 12:07:35 PM

I was wrong.  Jones vs Miocic is still happening after Dana White announced it in the post fight press conference.  But it's funny because that would mean the interim belt doesn't mean anything and all they did at 295 was all for show.

But then again it's good that the UFC is still showing Miocic some respect and giving him his last title shot before retiring.  And it's gonna be a good pay day for him too.

Anyway, here's jeremypwr's Multi Master.  Leeezz gooo!

UFC Fight Night 232:  Multi Master Challenge
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5473979.0

It was just an interim Heavyweight title and not the main Heavyweight title there for after the Stipe Miocic fight Jon Jones will surely fight Tom Aspinall next so they can unify the heavyweight belt when Jon Jones is all healed up for sure it will be in favor for Stipe Miocic, in getting him another shot and a cash money for the fight but the question is what if Stipe Miocic did win the fight,

But I really don't want to see the fight actually after Jon Jones recovered I want to see a Tom Aspinal VS Jon Jones fight instantly, and not get into Jon Jones VS Stipe Miocic but what can we do if the UFC really wants to give the guy a fight, well I think all we can do is just accept the fact that it is for a legend Stipe Miocic and for his last fight in the UFC,

Dana White doing business moves rather than the normal way. And as much as hardcore fight fans wanted an Aspinall-Jones fight, it's the casuals who will buy the bulk of PPVs and they will definitely buy the GOAT versus GOAT marketing. They don't even know Miocic is already past 40, came from a brutal defeat, and is years inactive.

Anyways, even before Jones won the heavyweight belt, I was doubtful of his ability to stay undefeated. His main assets which are his speed and length are no longer that advantageous at his age and in this division. So as much as possible Dana White will try to milk Jones before he loses or retires. Maybe we can see an Aspinall-Blaydes first before the interim belt holder gets his shot at the real title.
692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 16, 2023, 11:42:51 AM
Sacramento has proved once again that the Kings are the best team in California. Sabonis absolutely manhandled Anthony Davis, showing that Davis is soft and will never be the player the Lakers thought he would be. If you asked me 2 years ago if the Kings would ever be the best team in California I would have said not for a long time, but that’s clearly the case now.

I love it, a silent underrated team. They're now in a 4 straight win and they just beat the Lakers for the second time this season. What made it better is they won in LA.

Hopefully, they learned a lot last season and will do better in the coming playoff games. But I am not underestimating the Warriors, the Lakers, and the Clippers since these teams are too well experienced. The regular season is far from playoff games where every team is willing to do everything to get a win.

But if there's a betting odd on which California teams do better in the regular season, I am also taking the Kings over the other 3 teams.
693  Economy / Economics / Re: Agriculture vs oil on: November 16, 2023, 11:22:05 AM
Here in our country, I saw something on the news just a while ago that there might be a problem with the supply of oil here because of the conflicts that are happening in the country of Israel, is it between IRAQ or SAUDI, as long as one of those two countries supplies the oil to us.

So it means that there will also be an oil crisis here, so it is probably a big problem now that our government is probably concerned about here, although I don't see any problem in agriculture here, to be honest.

I think there is less to worry about the oil supply since neither Israel nor Palestine are oil export countries. Saudi Arabia condemning Israel's attack also lowers the chance of further Yemeni attacks on its oil fields. It will only become a problem if rivals Saudi Arabia and Iran start their own conflict. The civil war in Yemen isn't done yet though so both Saudi and Iran are still in a proxy war as both want to establish a Yemeni government on their side.

Agriculture however is a must since people need to eat every day. Innovations won't stop so in the future, there will be less oil demand and it will die out later due to clean energy. That is why these oil-rich and desert nations are investing a lot outside of oil for long-term economic sustainability.
694  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is it difficult for people to get capital easily? on: November 16, 2023, 11:02:13 AM
...
However, if we look broadly, everyone can get capital and the state makes this easy through state-owned banks, but again everything must have guarantees because no one can be trusted unless there is a business that is already running and has made a profit.

Yeah, I guess the majority of governments around the world are capable of offering even small loans to poor people to start their own businesses. And yes, the problem however is the guarantees and the trust. The majority of these poor do not own much assets as loan collaterals. And the majority of these poor people have no degrees and even lower levels of education so it is harder to trust them when it comes to starting their own businesses.

Here in my country, our government has many programs for the poor. Like training them or lecturing them on the dos and don'ts from specialized skills to farming. And then later, they will be granted loans without collaterals. What I noticed however is that they mostly fail. Both government workers are just doing it for compliance so there's no proper monitoring later on and most of the poor are just interested at the start because of the loan grants but later on, they get lazy and lose interest. In the end, the government is just spending billions of dollars to waste.

695  Economy / Economics / Re: Being rich = not looking at price tag on: November 14, 2023, 03:28:48 PM
I guess it depends on what kind of stuff they are planning to buy. There are also levels of the rich. 7 digit millionaires might not care when shopping in a mall but they will absolutely ask for the price when it comes to very expensive cars and real estate. Most millionaires if not all cannot afford super yachts.

But even to the richest people in the world, there are still things they consider asking for the price. Elon Musk for example is worth over $200 billion but he needed partners and investors when he acquired Twitter. So it all depends on the level of the rich and the stuff they are into.
696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 14, 2023, 03:07:15 PM
Clippers lost 5 in a row if I am not wrong, that seems like a situaiton that isn't just about Harden, hell Harden wasn't even there when this losing streak started. It's obvious that they are not aware how he plays, they need time to adjust. The team has Westbrook, Harden, Kawhi and PG together, if you ask me which four players would be able to play like this, like have some chaotic presence during the game, I would say these four.

I mean it is a wonder how Kawhi played so many games so far, I would have expected him to sit out the season already, isn't that what he does, like play 5 games a year, and then sit out the year, hope that the team goes to playoffs and he comes back during the playoffs, that's all he is good for. In the end, I am not expecting much from Clippers, not because they do not have the talent, they do have talent, but each player does something seriously wrong, on or off the court, and that could be the reason they may do badly.

It isn’t just on Harden in the sense that he alone on the court isn’t responsible for the losses. However, they had to trade away quite a bit to get him. You can’t just gut your team to add one guy and then expect to hit the ground running. Plus, Harden is old. They had to know him and Westbrook aren’t All Star caliber players anymore. The real loser to all this is Kawhi, who is no longer the highest winning percentage player in NBA history. That severely damages his legacy.

It's still fresh in my memory when someone posted on Facebook asking who will beat the Clippers when Harden is shipped. And here they are, suffering from a 5 losing streak. Later they will face the defending champions at Denver so it'll be another losing game I guess.

But to be fair, all of these 4 stars are past their prime. On the bright side though, the season is still early. The Clippers are also 3-1 at home so that's something to be seen since they were on the road for 4-straight games.

Personally, though, I am not expecting something from this team. I just don't think Kawhi can be healthy for a whole season and the playoffs.
697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your parent disinherit you eventhough you have not proven to be chronic gambler on: November 14, 2023, 02:42:04 PM
Actually, even an illegitimate child has the right of inheritance. So a legitimate child even if the person is an irresponsible gambling addict can claim an inheritance. What more to a regular but responsible gambler, of course, they'll have more rights to claim inheritance like a business for example.

Except maybe in some countries where freedom is limited and betting is not allowed as they have their own different laws from most modern countries.

Personally, if my parents do not want me to inherit their assets because I bet casually, I'm not going to question it. But when it comes to assets they only inherit from their parents and other bloodlines, I'm absolutely going to contest it. But they can sell it to avoid inheriting it from a child they do not like.
698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling Generally An Illicit Activity? on: November 14, 2023, 02:21:26 PM
It's a basic understanding that there are many ways to launder money. Unless someone does not understand or is unfamiliar with money laundering which is odd knowing we're already in 2023. Gambling is just one way of laundering money but it doesn't mean that it is easy. Online betting is much more difficult to launder money than land-based casinos. In online gambling, KYC is needed when on big amounts. And there's also the risk of totally losing the money on the bets.

In the end, money launderers might consider betting as one of the last resorts since it is risky and well-regulated, especially online casinos. The best way to launder money is still to build connections and bribe people from public officials to businesses.
699  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is it still risky to Invest into Altcoin now? on: November 14, 2023, 02:01:06 PM
There's always risk in everything including investing. But I would rather risk rather than put all savings in a slow-moving and inflationary fiat. It's less than 6 months before the bitcoin halving. And we already know what happens to the crypto market every halving and its following year. So for me, the time to start accumulating altcoins is now. I also started already accumulating altcoins but bitcoin remains my main priority which is around 70% of my portfolio. It is hard to catch the lowest time buying altcoins so for me doing a DCA is highly recommended just like with bitcoin.
700  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is it difficult for people to get capital easily? on: November 14, 2023, 01:39:53 PM
It depends on the family status since there are also people who are born rich or have the influence or connections. For average people, it is not easy to save money to have capital. We need to finish college and then work hard to get a promotion since the higher position we have in our jobs the higher the salary which also means higher savings.

But for people born poor, it'll be much more difficult and it'll be lucky to even get a college degree. And when we graduate college and get a job, we also need to help our family and relatives. We need to work harder to get a salary increase, or we can get another sideline job or start a business with very small capital.
