741  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: December 05, 2023, 03:09:34 PM
[Note: What happens to the post when a local thread gets their own board?]
Nothing  special happens, thread simply becomes part of the local board. Sometimes it gets locked after creation of local board while sometimes it stays open and active.

By the way, I started the work on monthly overview and it should be out by the end of the week
742  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: December 04, 2023, 05:28:50 PM
Should we add an example that the Russian board has a dedicated section for HYIP scams? A separate place for Ponzi, hyip, cloud mining and similar seeds. Nobody got banned for that.
Yep, just one of the things that never made much sense to me and now even less with having mixers banned.

Mixer fanatics do not want legal mixers with KYC.
Mixers with mandatory KYC make as much sense as a wooden stove and would probably be equally popular.

743  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are bitcoin investors violators? on: December 04, 2023, 05:17:34 PM
do you think of yourself as a bad citizen for disobeying the government?
No.

Now see things from a religious side as well, by disobeying the government and investing in bitcoins, are you committing the sin of direct disobedience?
You think that being disobedient is somehow a bad thing? If you know anything about history you will see that its often quite the opposite.
744  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: December 04, 2023, 04:53:04 PM
Nope, of course not. But then we had a great midfield trio at least, and I still feel we grinded it out more than we actually deserved it.
We definitely overachieved in the last two World Cups but just because we grinded it doesn't mean that we didn't deserve it. In the same way I think that Greece winning 2004 Euro was well deserved and the more time passes, the more I appreciate their achievement.

We're pushing our luck for way too long - and there are many more games that I feel we've won that we should have lost than the other way around.
Once or twice is luck, but when you consistently win close games then it becomes something else. The opposite case is our national basketball team.

We're ready for some sobering up - and I think we get it in Germany.
Sobering up already happened in those qualification games vs Wales and Turkey (for anyone still thinking that we are powerhouse) so I don't think that anyone is expecting us to do much next year. Well, at least not those who are actually following us closely (and fans in Croatia ofc) while I noticed foreign football fans still are thinking that we are much stronger than we actually are.
745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Bitcoin Bar in Sofia, Bulgaria looks Interesting on: December 04, 2023, 04:38:05 PM
A few days ago we had a discussion about wearing clothes with the BTC logo and I think most people think it's a bad idea, and all those who think so would probably think twice before entering such a bar.
Yeah that's another thing I don't understand, people wanting to wear tshirts with bitcoin logo (I do have as I got it from my good irl friend, but I am only wearing it around the house)but by far the worse thing is having crypto themed licence plate. No better invite for a $5 wrench attack than that.

I was asking if it was solely Bitcoin or fiat payments were also accepted, and if any other crypto was accepted, I didn't see any information on that in the thread.
I doubt that you can open up a business and not accept the official currency, which in Bulgaria is Bulgarian Lev so that must be accepted too.
746  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Bitcoin Bar in Sofia, Bulgaria looks Interesting on: December 03, 2023, 08:57:31 PM

Did they include information on what currencies are accepted for payment?
I went throught the tweet OP shared and the guy behind that Bitcoin bar confirmed that its of course possible to pay with BTC, LN included whihc is good option to have in the times like these when fees are high.

While I like the motif and design of the business since we're all good for Bitcoin. But for me personally, I wouldn't go there. Someone who comes there might give the bad people the idea that you are truly into Bitcoin.
My thought exactly when I saw this. I mean it looks cool and everything, kudos for the effort but by visiting it you are putting yourself to unecessary risk via $5 wrench attack.
747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: December 03, 2023, 08:45:50 PM
I like it as well, it will be more fun. I just don't think we'll go through. Then again, I wasn't optimistic no matter which group we got.
If it was the old system then yes, chances for us reaching 2nd stage woulnd't be good. But, since 4 3rd placed teams go to 1/8 final as well, win vs Albania + 1 point vs (more likely) Italy could be enough and that sounds doable, if Perisic recovers in time and we don't have any more injuries. I wonder whether Dalic contacted Rakitic since he said in one interview that he is willing to come back if needed.

Then again, I wasn't optimistic no matter which group we got
Be honest, where you optimistic before 2018 and 2022 WC? I surely wasn't. Last time I was optimistic was for 2016 EURO when we played some good football (despite Cacic) and I thought that we have the quality to be champions and if we had a little bit more luck vs Portugal in 1/4, (imho) we would be.

749  Other / Meta / Re: Was the forum better before without Merit or is it better now with Merit? on: December 03, 2023, 11:20:09 AM
I have no idea how it was before merit implentation as I joined later, but if we have so many high ranking shitposters now, I can only imagine how bad it was when you could rank tp Legendary by simply writing one liner shitposts for a couple of years.

Merit system ain't perfect, but it definitely made it harder for account farmers.
750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: December 03, 2023, 10:22:51 AM
Spain,Italy,Croatia and the newcomers Albania who are only here for the second time in the same group, what the f*ck UEFA,Italy should have not been in the Pot 4 as all social media is boiling or was boiling with posts good luck with the ones who will get Italy as a Pot 4 team. This is a group of hell for Albania and if they get one single point in here that would be a huge success and achievement for them, they are playing against World Champions or at a minimum a finalist in the World Cup meanwhile they don't have this experience, would be fun to watch these games.
These things were bound to happen, thanks to the new way UEFA drew groups. Icing on cake is that now we have 2 weak groups too (groups E and F). UEFA is really doing its best to ruind the most interesting championship as with 16 teams and with the old draw no groups were weak.

We can still squeeze through, of course. But I'm not confident at all.
I kinda like the group, even though its the hardest one as we usually play good against good teams. If we don't ge out of the group it won't be a disaster while if we do, at least we can't play against (afaik) some of the strongest teams till the semi-finals.
751  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Novosti on: December 02, 2023, 03:46:41 PM
A čekaj...
Tongue

Examples of things that are not banned mixers include exchangers (unless they have a mixing function), CoinJoin-supporting non-custodial wallets, and Monero.
752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: December 02, 2023, 11:33:50 AM
They literally have only one achievement in their history which is an Olympic championship in 1920.
What about being 3rd in Russia back in 2018, that doesn't count as success?

Especially in Euro rather than World Cup they can be more successful. It isn't impossible for them to win a title despite the existence of very challenging opponents. management.
Before EURO expanded to 24 teams, it was arguably even harder to reach later stages than in WC as in order to even get out of the group you have to beat some serious teams. For example, Belgium could end up in a group with Denmark, Croatia and Italy, where basically any team can move further while in WX you always have at least 1 team in a group that is total outsider.

By the way, today at 17:00 there will be EURO draw. For those who want to play with possible draws, you can try Interactive UEFA EURO 2024 Draw Simulator where you can make a draw based on variopus parameters.

For Croatia, I woulnd't mind us getting in a group with Germany, Albania and Poland.
753  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777 will not pay anyone for the last week /Sinbad campaign/ on: December 02, 2023, 07:29:10 AM
US customers buying and selling crypto is a privilege, not a right?
George Carlin - You Have No Rights.

My concern is that should i be worried about this ? I do not live in the US and the funds are in my Electrum wallet. Can law enforcement agencies can approach me  Huh
As long as you keep bitcoin that you received from mixers away from services where you did KYC, you should probably be fine.

754  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk was down on: December 02, 2023, 07:17:17 AM
Another downtime for bitcointalk was observed today. I did not know that exact duration but roughly it was for an hour or so.
It was a bit longer than that, as according to ninjastic.space there is a gap with no posts between 05:29 UTC and 07:11 UTC so ~1:40.

Still, we do not have the exact reasons for these downtimes but anyways the good thing is that we are back online and there is nothing to worry about.  Smiley
Afaik, we never got an answer what exactly is causing it.
755  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers Signatures : A challenge or Respect on: December 01, 2023, 06:42:04 PM
This solution is incredibly stupid. This will kill the entire forum ecosystem  Embarrassed
Incoming mixer ban certainly sucks big time, but let's not overdramatize it.

If signature campaigns (and altcoin bounties) were banned alltogether, then I would say that you are right and that forum is pretty much done but at the moment that's not the case.

Mi hai traumatizzato, amico!
757  Economy / Reputation / Re: After Chipmixer, Is Sinbad.io Next To Be Shutdown? on: December 01, 2023, 06:20:32 PM
I already removed all funds from Binance so nothing can be frozen.
Its good to hear that you managed to withdraw your funds as I assumed that they blocked your account while waiting for an explanation. Out of curiosity and to clear that out, did you use Binance address for signature campaign payments, or you sent the sig campaign monmey from your own wallet to Binance?

Regarding what to do, its a touchy matter and I personally don't feel comfortable sharing advice as honestly I am not sure what would I do in your situation, but I do know that Binance can be very persistent if they think you are bullshitting them without providing solid evidence for your story so if you go that route, be careful.

758  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Novosti on: December 01, 2023, 05:10:10 PM
Wink

Even though you can sometimes use non-mixers to mix coins by depositing and then withdrawing, this doesn't make it a mixer because this is an incidental use of the service; the service isn't advertised as privacy-enhancing.
759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2023/24 | Qualifiers on: December 01, 2023, 04:59:06 PM
I must admit that it was a good bet for you mate but you were unlucky. Because I really liked their effort in the first half. Their goal expectation was around 1.20 but there was still no goal. If they scored first things could have been easier for you. But they couldn't. The red card they got after a goal conceded was the end of the hopes for Astana.
Yep, pretty lucky considering the fact that Astana was quite good in the end half and even missed the penalty. If they scored, I think that match would end up very differently as Dinamo was just horrendous in the first half and was ready to conceed few more goals.

I have to say that as a Dinamo fan since 1980s, it pains me to see them looking like this, where they are not favorites even against 4th tier teams and its been quite a lot of time since they were so bad. Worst of all, future doesn't look any better too as their youth team isn't what it was few years ago.
760  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: December 01, 2023, 04:51:47 PM
3. The service does not collect KYC-type info from all users.
So what's next?
Are you going to ask all members to perform KYC on bitcointalk?  Roll Eyes
There are plenty of legit websites you can use without kyc, virtual cards, vpn services, casinos, etc.
I don't know if I misunderstood him, but he said that's just one of the requirements when deciding whether something is mixer and that all 3 have to be met, meaning webiste not collecting KYC info and not meeting one of those two criteria won't be considered mixer, therefore no problem. At least for now, but the way things are developing it makes you wonder how long it will take before that changes too and other services that don't ask for KYC get prohibited too.

Are you all saw now that how much this forum is decentralized?
Calm your tits, no one that knows how forums work thought that bitcointalk is decentralized.

Just the other day after what has happened with Sinbad I speculated on our local board that theymos might ban mixer campaigns all together if this practice of mixers getting busted continues but I didn't expect him to act on it so fast. It sucks big time, but it is what it is.
