841  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: RFK Jr Says He Purchased Bitcoin For His Kids on: July 27, 2023, 03:49:58 AM
I would like to see many politicians do the same as this, but I doubt we will have many examples of politicians of such importance in the near future, so I welcome it. If only for the sake of publicity. He is also giving free advertising to Bitcoin.

Of course, they can used it during their campaign, specially for the young generations of voters. Maybe it can make an appeal to them that a Presidential candidate is also in BTC.

And if this true then being rich and have a lot of money, the family might think of it as a sort of investment or something. For his kids and grand kids, bitcoin could be look upon as a potential generational wealth for this wealthy individual. However, average joe like the majority of us here can also think of BTC that way.

But as what others have said, this id free publicity for RFK Jr, so still a win-win for him.
842  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte II on: July 27, 2023, 03:37:12 AM
. AJ still has more fights to come, and what he needs to ensure is that he starts winning and shows consistency. Although he isn't a champion now, who knows, he may get a chance to face Fury in the future.

Yes he is still young and he is still ok but a boxer is only as good as his last fight two championship losses are not good and a climb to the top again is not easy and if you are faced with losses while climbing to the top, then you are on your way out.

Very well said, in his last 2 fights, he was against a tough opponent in Usyk, world class technical boxer and as much as Joshua wanted to win and he has a big heart, Usyk has the tools and mentality to over come him as well.

Whyte is his ticket to the top again but I doubt if he can regain his old glory, Usyk is doing great Fury and Wilder are also doing great, he needs to finish his business and that is to fight Fury and Wilder, beat them both and all his past failures will vanish and he will leave a great legacy, but the biggest question is can he do it.

Maybe bring back his confidence to win or even score a knockout against a old Dillian Whyte. But he still needs to be very careful from that one shot that might change the fight in favor of Dillian. So he shouldn't be overconfident and not to estimate Whyte here. And so if he wins, definitely, he can regain some of his pride. But against a top tier fighter in Fury or Wilder, it could be very different fight for Joshua.
843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 27, 2023, 03:14:04 AM
I read a news today but I'm not sure if it's true.
Oklahoma City Thunder player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will become the first NBA player in history to sign a $400 Million contract.

Source: CBS Sport

It's seems that NBA player is doing a catch up with football stars in terms of contract and salary. And we can't deny that SGA is really the franchise player for OKC now, we just hope that it's worth that money for the OKC management.

If only SGA is their big player, then it might be difficult for him to lift the team up. He needs help although they still have last year's rookie in Chet who hasn't seen any other yet because he got injured but he will be back this season.
844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: July 26, 2023, 04:33:19 PM
I don't think Tapales has the speed to match Inoue. Looking at those names he'd beaten, I can't see anyone familiar. But I saw him after Inoue -Fulton fight, he was asking for it which Inoue also said they gonna be fighting before 2024. Inoue is stashing a lot of money.

Speed is one, but then Tapales will have to contend about the power too of Inoue. He witnessed how he just go and steam roll Stephen Fulton into a knockout win. Fulton has a good chin and defense, but for a split second that he put his arms down, it's over as Inoue was able to see that small hole and punch it.

I can see another KO. If Fulton didn't make it, so will Tapaless. I checked some of his fights on youtube, he is a small tough fighter though. I guess he is up to making money as well regardless of the result.

I would agree, maybe it might take less than 8 rounds for Inoue to knockout Tapales. And it's hard to imagine on how a boxer is going to defeat Inoue. Maybe he should be taller than Inoue has a good chin and a speed that can match Inoue and of course the timing to counter as well and I doubt that Tapales has that tools in his arsenal.
845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 24, 2023, 02:20:49 PM
^^ I'm not really sure if Crawford though can knockout Spence in just 3 rounds. Both are elite boxers, so maybe in the first couple of rounds it could be just feeling each other reading the moves, throwing feints and see what the other side will do or how they will react.

Of course a knockout is possible, but this two has high boxing IQ and with that, they will avoid getting trap and being knockout that early. It's already fight week and so everyone is really very excited to see which boxer will become undisputed.
846  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: July 24, 2023, 01:06:51 PM
^^ Donaire ML is still very attracted in my opinion, that is if you are willing to pour big money on it. So as long as he is going to win here, either by decision or knockout or technical knockout, you can still have a big win.

But for those who are chasing good odds for him, yeah, a stoppage win or even by decision is very juicy odds. However, we should be smart in our bets. So still have days to think about where to put our money, so let's see if there will be changes in the odds specially for backers of Santiago.

Yeah, if you are aiming for a win and you are good at backing Donaire, ML is already good to enjoy if ever Donaire
take this fight against Santiago.

Though we all know that there are gamblers who wanted to squeeze for more, and they are willing to take a much bigger risk for a possible
decent compensation, just a good trust for Donaire to win a KO will give much higher winnings.

Let see if there's movement if ever bookies see backers from Santiago to place their bets.

Yep, for us who I will say just had small capital to play, it's better if we are going to look for other possibilities on this fight. It might be very difficult, but that's the excitement in gambling.

Maybe a per round will do, just a prediction on which rounds Donaire will win, same for Santiago supporters here.

But it seems that Donaire is the sentimental favorite here, we wanted to see Donaire makes a comeback win by either ko/tko and then becomes the oldest bantamweight. And for sure Philippines will be proud and happy to see another world champion with their flag on it.
847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 24, 2023, 11:37:52 AM
The NBA's board of governors approved the sale of the Charlotte Hornets to a group led by Rick Schnall and Gabe Plotkin.
Michael Jordan sold the Charlotte Hornets for approximately $3 Billion. He bought it for $275 Million in 2010.
Yup.

This was a news already a month or two ago but then that's official now if the boards have finally approved the sale of it. IIRC, it's not an entire sale and turnover because AFAIK MJ will still be left and have a small portion of it.

Anyway, this is one of the best investment that a person can ever have but it's on MJ. One of the GOAT and now turned into an entrepreneur and businessman, this is one of his greatest wins that none other NBA players haven't reached yet.
Great move by MJ; he was able to make a lot of money from his investment, and I'm sure he will not go poor with the fortune he has amassed. This is the kind of player who should be a good role model. After basketball, he focused on investment and used his finances to grow it even more. There might be some big changes now, and I hope the Charlotte Hornets will be able to become a playoff team.

Yeah, and that what really separates the GOAT from the rest of the players, current or past, with maybe a few exceptions. He knows how to invest, maybe he has a good financial adviser or it is really in him to create more money not just him playing and his signature Jordan shoes and his deal with Nike.

And it I'm not mistaken, in this generation, many are following in his footsteps to be entrepreneur inside and outside of the NBA. It might not be a NBA team, but at least in some areas any other form of investments to create generational wealth. Instead of those players who just throw their money and once their career is over, they don't even have money left in their bank account.
848  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Twitter Stock Experience the same Rise? on: July 23, 2023, 09:10:46 PM
Elon is running Twitter into the ground. He is not capable of properly managing a social media platform. People who are politically aligned with Musk benefit from getting higher visibility on their tweets. Also a ton of spam, scam and troll accounts are getting boosted merely by purchasing a blue checkmark. People don't want to join a site that is biased and elevating junk content. Musk chased away advertisers and admitted that Twitter is losing money. I don't really see how they will be able to make their product more valuable.

Exactly. The way Twitter is now, it wouldn't be long before it dies. Even today most celebrities, public figures and businesses are using Instagram to connect to their target audience. Twitter, which used to be a big thing for fandoms and communities, has truly lost its appeal, specially when Musk decided to make such obnoxious changes that only benefited him and not the users.

Well when he acquire it, we all know that there will be changes for sure. Because if there are none, then we might think that it is still with the previous owners. So Musk make his presence felt with a lot of changes and most of it, we didn't like.

But Twitter remains one of the biggest social media platform and that's why Mark Z is trying to compete with it and take a big chunk on the pie. I will admit that I downloaded Threads, but I haven't used it like I used Twitter.
849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte II on: July 23, 2023, 08:57:38 PM
That's always been the case for Joshua after his first loss to Ruiz and Usyk. In the second Usyk fight, he had a breakdown after the fight.

So this is very important for him, Although he did get a new trainer, but still as the first round starts, it will be just him and Dillian Whyte. And it will be more mental for Joshua here than physical. He might be in the best shape of his life, but if his minds has started to doubt that he can win, then it won't help him here, IMHO.
The breakdown is so hard to see for Joshua's fans and camps but it is what it was it's a hard climb for Joshua but he is very prone to a breakdown he easily gives out when faced with a good adversary we first saw this in the Ruiz Jr fight he spits his mouthpiece and failed to answer when asked if he wants to continue after getting a knockdown, and on Usyk fight he became passive when Usyk was attacking him, I'm sure we will see a little bit of that trace when Whyte shows no respect to him in their coming match.

True, but against Whyte who he has been beaten already and perhaps already decline as he is not that active, maybe the camp of AJ thinks that he is a good boxer to have a tune up fight.

But I do agree, he has been exposed as having a weak mentality that when he face a superior boxer, he doesn't know what to do. When he thought that he can beat Ruiz Jr in the first time, suddenly it as a game changer for him. Because after that, AJ become a different boxer and started to be cautious in the beginning and no longer the aggressive boxer that once he was. As if he is afraid to exchange with his opponents.
850  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers Belief on: July 23, 2023, 08:46:23 PM
Just a little story when I play online gambling, I always have confidence that when I experience continuous defeat, I think it means I'm getting closer to a big win. But what happened was the opposite, I only deepened the defeat and I was able to realize it when I ran out of money and had no more friends I could borrow money from. That was the worst thing I ever did when playing gambling and it seems I have to change my mindset when playing gambling because deciding to stop playing gambling is very difficult.

Yeah, if I'm not mistaken, everyone has experienced it and what the OP described. However, belief has no effects on our winning or losing, it is still base on luck specially casino games.

But for sports betting like in NBA or Football, it might be different though as we always think that just one single goal will change the outcome of the game in our favor. So maybe we believed that even in the last seconds, a player will hit that goal or basket to give us that big win.
851  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 23, 2023, 08:34:35 PM
^ That is a controversial statement by his coach, but it seems that Fulton is just shrugging his shoulder as if to tell this coach to shut up.

In any case, Fulton with or without that hand wraps, believes that he can and will beat Fulton as his own country in front of his crowd. So that is the mentality that Fulton has right now. No need from his coach to throw some rants on the media. Japanese is very respectful, but if you talk trash maybe we will see Inoue unleashes his full potential and power at super bantamweight as he might be agree with that statement.
He is already making excuses just in case Fulton loses; he already has one. There's a governing body that would ensure the fight is fair and square, so he doesn't need to worry about that. Besides, in the first place, Inoue would not think of cheating, as that would jeopardize his boxing career.

Right. It's not that we cannot blame them for they are just thinking ahead to defend themselves if in the case of Fulton being defeated by the challenger, Naoya Inoue. But their way was just a bit off right from the start because throwing an allegation will definitely not help their situation as that will just make it worse. Furthermore, there's no need to accuse of something because the boxing industry has been more careful because of what happened in the past and certainly Inoue's camp will not do something careless.

I don't think Inoue's camp would put their fighter's hands in the dirt. The man is talented and was a force to be reckoned with in his previous weight class. He doesn't need to dope or add something to his gloves or hand wraps to win - he just need to have a good opening and basically training to carry himself. Fulton's camp is already fabricating excuses, but if it's something that turn out to be true, the match officials will be ready to stop the fight in a heartbeat.

For sure Inoue's camp doesn't want Inoue to be tag as dirty boxer, and they have been doing it right for many years. However, this might tainted his career with the whole allegations by Fulton camp.

Although they have address it already, the accusations could linger and maybe Inoue's next opponent will closely monitor how they wrap him to see if there is some truthfulness in the allegations. But as fans we do hope that it is not true.
852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed can cause a lost bet, (true or false) on: July 23, 2023, 01:57:38 PM
BetKing is a scam casino, it's better for you to choose other casino that's more trusted and reputable, check the representative account in this forum whether the account has negative feedback or not.

@jawhead999 I fill that we are talk about a wrong site, I didn't get anything about that like you posted, just take a good look at what am talking about. https://m.betking.com

Yeah, it might be different and thanks for clearing that up. But I guess everyone here is giving you a good advise and it just so happen that they have the same name.

In any case, if you didn't win and you feel that it is because of your greed, then you need to control yourself next time. Although majority of us has experience greed as a "limiting" factor in our gambling. And it will take a lot of us mentally to overcome greed so that we can win in gambling.

Just remember though that gambling is base on luck so you don't need to force yourself looking for juicy odds, in my opinion.

The whales stirred. What should we expect?

You should have known better mate, whales are our friend here.

- the end of the short era of cryptocurrencies ? Owners are actively moving into fiat
- the end of the Bitcoin era ? Are they selling it to change cryptoasset for storage ? And what is this crypto asset?
- regulators have "gotten their way", cryptocurrency is losing support and interest ?
- your version ?

- again, you are legendary already, and you are a crypto enthusiast, so what will it be? obviously, I doubt that investors are moving to fiat
- no, this is just the start of Bitcoin era, when we hit 6 digits in the next bull run, those haters are going to be quite
- regulators have been here since 2017, seen the last great bull run in 2021, so I so they will just continue as long as crypto exists
854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This time for meme coin? on: July 22, 2023, 09:03:56 PM
You probably know that almost all new meme projects are coming out now. Do you think it is really risky? what effect do you think this could have for the bull market!

It's not a question whether it's risky or not, It's always been risky for everyone, even for those who have been for so long and most specially for newbies. Bull run will come, regardless if there is a meme coin uptick.

So for me, it's better to just stay away from meme coins because we really know what the intentions of the developer behind. But I guess no one can stop them from creating a new one, and then hyping it so that many investors will go at it. But for others like me, we don't want to complicate things so we don't invest on meme coins, simply as that.
855  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 22, 2023, 08:46:41 PM
When Harden was traded he was still young, he wasn't the Harden we know today, and not like he is the Harden we knew back when he was doing amazing job at Rockets neither. That period when KD was early on his Warriors career, Harden was doing near triple double, Westbrook was doing triple double and getting MVP, if those three played together at that time, I think it would have been an easy title for them.

They did not played together at the right time, they could have been the only team that can beat Warriors streak, Lebron did it only by himself, OKC could have done it better. I mean think about it, OKC was 3-1 up, everyone talks about how Cavs came from 3-1 down, but Warriors came from 3-1 down as well, add Harden there and OKC plays Cavs that year.

And it just shows how difficult to really spot a good talent in the NBA in the beginning, there are hype players coming from the NBA because of their collegiate stats and yet they are a bust. And then we saw some 2nd round pick or even undrafted becoming a good and elite player.

As for the potential of the 3 in Thunder before, yeah it was there, but again, we really don't know if they can still make it if they stay together. It could have been different, but I guess OKC wasn't able to recover from that as they struggled after the era of KD, Westbrook and Harden.
856  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino on a cruise ship? on: July 22, 2023, 08:38:26 PM
Taking a ride in a cruise is very expensive to be honest. Only the rich people can afford it. Atleast this happens in my country. Moreover many people have fear in travelling through the ships, hence they avoid transportation through this also. As far as I have read from various resources, there is no much difference between a land based casino and casino present in a cruise. Moreover as these people gamble for recreational purpose only, hence for them the payouts and rate doesn’t matter. Regarding the operational hours, then it varies from cruise to cruise. Some operates for 24/7 also.
I think it was yesterday where I saw a post from Elon Musk. He said that riding on his Tesla cruise ship is only priced at $100 per day/night. $100 might be a huge amount already for some of us but I expect more of it. I still think that $100 can realistically be reached even it takes time therefore I can say that cruise ship wasn't only built for the rich.

I think that is a bold move from Elon Musk if his Tesla cruise ship will just charge $100, it's affordable to all of us. Maybe that kind of money is like what? 1 minute of playing in a slot machine? My point is that everyone has $100 if they wanted to try and experience a cruise ship and play in their casinos.

Going back to Musk, it's good business move, maybe he wanted to removed the stigma that cruise ships is for the rich people and not for everyone. But as far as the casino goes, it could be the same, at the end it will be based on how lucky you are.

But I guess the experience is priceless gambling in a cruise ship.
857  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is improving I guess? on: July 22, 2023, 08:14:41 PM
It is very interesting to me when people link Bitcoin’s price with improvement of its functionality. In reality, the cost of transactions is way up from free when I started using BTC, there are significantly less options for use cases as regulators have cracked down on developers, and a majority of people think BTC is a store of value instead of a p2p payment network. Improvement? Only if you’re trying to play the greater fool game.

And I don't also think that there will be improvement for bitcoin. I mean they could if the devs wanted to. But bitcoin has changed a lot as you have said, fees are higher but the price is also going up most of the time.

As for the the so called "functionality", it's now more of a Store of Value (SoV), people making money, it's becoming a investment vehicle for the majority of us instead of what is it designed for in the beginning as P2P system. So it has evolved in the last 10 years and I think it will, in the next decade.
858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: July 21, 2023, 08:30:18 PM
Ngannou is a force of nature and very gifted athlete but when it comes to pure boxing ...Tyson will smash him and I don't think we will pas over round 7 in my opinion.

This event is also an entertaining one and I do hope Ngannou will come prepare and give it all he has instead of just grab the money and lose the fight...but we are still very early to talk about what happen besides that Tyson will win  Grin

Perhaps less, the thing with MMA fighter is that they are not used to more rounds, just like in the Floyd vs Conor fight, McGregor has success early on and Floyd just cruising. But when Floyd sensing that Conor is getting tired in the middle rounds, he starts to take over.

But in this case, if Francis rans out of gas in the mid rounds, I'm seeing a huge knockout or stoppage win by Fury here. So this fight will not go to the judges scorecard
859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kuwait Bans Bitcoin and crypto payments, investement and mining on: July 21, 2023, 08:20:25 PM
Yeah, just weird that the Kuwaiti government are preventing the growth of crypto. While their neighbors are doing the opposite. I had a talk with a friend who is working in Dubai right now and he asked me about what apps or exchanges I used to trade. So I said Binance, and he said that they are also looking at Binance because they want to do some training.

In any case though, if the Kuwaiti government will go against it then nothing we can do. But if there neighbouring countries become a crypto hub, maybe they will change their stance here.
860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 21, 2023, 08:08:09 PM
James Harden posted on twitter that he’s been comfortable for too long and it’s time to get uncomfortable. I’m not exactly sure what he’s referring to since he hasn’t stayed on one team long enough to get comfortable. Maybe he’s talking about his routine that has him overweight and unable to perform at the level he once could. Who knows?

So another prophetic quote from him? Maybe he is referring to the team that he will go? Perhaps the new team will be uncomfortable with him around as their new player and perhaps there will be a big changes on that team.

Regardless, I don't see him going to the rigorous diet. But let's see, him and the Lillard are one of the most anticipated news this summer and we don't know where or what team will be their destination although they have their preferences, but so far no clear news yet.
