Yeah, and as Paul George, shout out to WB for taking the minimum just to stay with the Clippers at least for this year.

No, he will stay for 2 years as that's what his contract says.

Quote
Free agent Russell Westbrook has agreed on a two-year, nearly $8M deal
https://www.nba.com/news/russell-westbrook-2023-free-agency

If he cannot make it next season, he still has one more season to help the Clippers win a championship. I think it's possible as long as Leonard stays healthy. Actually, even without PG, Leonard and Westbrook would already be enough to lead the team.

Money is not that important to him anymore because it seems to me that Westbrook is on a revenge mode to gain his confidence and reputation again, and I believe that he still got a chance if he will be given an enough time to play as a main role with Kawhi Leonard because being a 6th man in the team was seriously not suitable for him. He just needed some time to take care of his own business to bring back that old version.
862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 25, 2023, 11:14:27 AM
If anyone of you was not aware, the Japanese are known in using psychological warfare before the fight to cause more anxiety to an opponent who is already suffering from anxiety because the fight. They used this against Nonito Donaire in his rematch vs. Inoue. It was rumored that random people would knock on Nonito's door every hour who are pretending to be fans to prevent him from sleeping. There were also other issues like not allowing Nonito's gloves to be used and other little problems like no chairs, no water available in his locker room.

However, it appears Fulton's team is very smart. They are using the Japanese tricks against Inoue's team so Fulton can rest and concentrate only on the fight hehehe.

Ohh, this is not good but there might be some truth to this. I hope Fulton is aware of this tactics and be ready to whatever those Japs threw at them. Might be that "cake thing" was one of them.

I have not heard about the cake thing hehe. What is it?

In any case, yes I am quite certain that Fulton's team is aware of these dirty tactics. This might be why they are using tactics that are a little similar on Inoue, like demanding a blood test before the fight or making small complaints on the hand wraps. These are types of psychological warfare to annoy and make the opponent more anxious.

I reckon none of team Inoue's psychological tricks will work and this is why I predict a split decision win for Fulton.
Ah yes, about that cake, it turns out that Steph Fulton received a random birthday cake from one of his fans but in this instance, it came from a Japanese bakery and was delivered by a Japanese man.

In the video, Steph Fulton lit the cake and blew the candles for the sake of being respectful but his face surely speaks that he doesn't want any of that cake. Safe to say it might be a part of their little war outside the ring and part of the psychological battles before the fight night to keep them warm. Grin

863  Economy / Economics / Re: Can your passion lead to an increase in your net worth? on: July 23, 2023, 07:47:04 PM
There are many diverse opinions about following one's passion and wealth. I read two stories of people who followed their passion, and in a short period of time, the businesses became very profitable.

In story 1, Defossey left a job at Apple to open a BBQ restaurant in Mexico City. It made $9 million in sales last year. In story 2, Sean Audet, a 30-year-old, spent $0 launching a food photography side hustle, and now he brings in $134,000 a year.

The people in these stories followed their passion and created wealth through it. What is your opinion on following one's passion in relation to wealth? Can your passion lead to an increase in your net worth? If yes, what is stopping you from following it?

Having passion is great because it makes us more motivated and become more success driven. However, I would say passion alone is never good enough. We need more consistency in what we do, hard work and focus to our goal so that the chances to increase our net worth is always highly possible. Although I would say it’s already a great thing to have passion but it would be more ideal if we also have positive attitudes as well.
864  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think selling your property is better than taking loan? on: July 23, 2023, 04:01:09 PM
Depends on the property and depends on the interest rate of the loan. You should choose whichever is more beneficial to you. What is the annual expenses of the property? Do you pay any taxes? The most important question is, does it make sense to sell it? Is it making you money or losing you money? What is the interest rate of the loan? Is it below the inflation rate or above it? Depending on the answers of these questions you can easily find a solution to your problem. I personally don’t sell any property in this environment but I am full of debt because I took every loan I could when the rates were low.
I’m not also used in selling any of my property or any electronic appliances at home. I prefer to just borrow some money especially in times of emergency. Because I always believe that if you sell your property, it’s sentimental value will vanish too, and its price will have a depreciating value so you only got a small amount on hand. That’s why I only borrow a certain amount and pay it as sooner as I can.
865  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beginners, you don't need Bitcoin first on: July 23, 2023, 01:57:48 PM
It's hard to accept but it is the harsh reality. I have also met many people even I am included. Who tries to invest in BTC or Trade in BTC in the hope of making money out of it. The funny thing is we are using the money that's is all we have and starting with zero knowledge.

I mean, in this situation if the market will come down then obviously the trader/investor will panic trade. And will face loss too. So, to keep your mind relaxed and to avoid yourself from all the market sentiments, a source of income is necessary. It's not that compulsory but I would say it's the best practise to have a source of income before investing in BTC or any other currency.
For me, I would say it’s definitely necessary to have a stable job first before you decide to invest, so that if ever things do not work as planned, your finances will never break out. I know a lot have experienced investing without a stable source of income maybe because of greed and the goal of making instantly rich, but I must say a lot of them fail too and end up losing their capital especially when investing in a very volatile market like bitcoin. That’s the reason why getting a job first is much important than having an investment, because your job will secure fixed and stable income while your investment does not guarantee fixed returns or profits.
866  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Spreading bitcoin awareness; Your personal security matters first on: July 22, 2023, 09:59:29 PM
Our own security should be the topmost priority in the first place. Especially in countries where they are strongly against with bitcoin, I guess the best thing to do is just to zip your mouth shut and secure yourself and your bitcoin first rather than spreading the information about bitcoin and the next thing you will see is that the government officers are coming to you. However, my country is not as strict like this when it comes to bitcoin. Although they make it clear that bitcoin is not yet legally adopted, but we are free to invest in bitcoin as long as we also take hold the responsibility to secure our own funds not to get scam. But I don’t think teaching bitcoin in a crowd is possible, as it could trigger the reaction of the government and banks officers.
867  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Every Bitcoin holder Should Take a Cybersecurity course on: July 22, 2023, 09:25:24 PM
I think it can be very useful for bitcoin hodlers or any types of investment only if you can afford to pay for it. Because if not, that’s still fine because it’s never actually a compulsory thing to do. As long as you study on the risk of your investment and you always invest with caution, then most likely you can still avoid any form of hacking or stealing on your funds. The most important thing is you always invest responsibly, otherwise your investment will go into waste knowing you are not capable enough to secure your funds or your coins.
868  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why Crypto may go wrong for some people on: July 21, 2023, 09:57:11 PM
A friend of mine recently complain to me about how he loses thousands of dollars to crypto after invest in a token. He now said he is quiting crypto and now comparing crypto investing to that of gambling.

Most people hear about crypto and wish to invest in it without the knowledge of how crypto works. It is a good practice for one to learn the do and don't of whatsoever you want to put your money in. Why dealing with crypto as if you are gambling? You need to learn to earn with crypto. You gamble with crypto when you invest without adequate research and knowledge of what token/coin you are investing on.

CONCLUSION
Crypto isn't for lazy people. It involves research and continuous learning. It may look bored if money isn't made in the first few months but will definitely make you smile after months of endurance.
The clear reason is that not all people have the same outlook on bitcoin. Some would only see it as short term profits and just here for investment purposes to satisfy their greed. However, for those who have deep understanding about bitcoin, they will always find ways to learn everything about bitcoin and value it’s utility case in the market. And when they’re ready to invest, they make sure that it will be a long term investment regardless if there will be inevitable losses along the way.
869  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 10 tips to manage one's emotions while trading crypto. on: July 21, 2023, 08:59:06 PM
The biggest one; why do you even have them? Thats the biggest one, consider why you are having them as the root problem and you will do a lot better. People approach like it's so normal to have high feelings when you are trading but the reality is that you shouldn't have them to begin with and if you are having them then you are making a mistake to begin with.

Try to go down to the reason why making trades causes you to have high emotional periods and then try to solve those in order to trade with no emotions in the future, that would be a lot better. I believe that it's going to end up with something much better and that way you will be making a lot of profits as well. That's just my thought at least, would be different if you ask someone else.
If you’ll keep on trading, you’ll eventually discover that high emotions are never necessary in trading because most of the time, if you trade with different emotions on your mind, you will most likely end up in failure and losses. Emotions will only ruin your trades and that’s based on traders experience, that’s why as much as possible, we should learn not to deal with our emotions while we are in the trading process.
870  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: July 20, 2023, 09:05:15 PM
I'm really tempted to bet on Inoue to win by KO; it's 1.98 in my sportsbook now. What do you guys think about these odds? Are you going in, or will you play it safe and just bet on Inoue to win the game regardless of how?
Why would you doubt Inoue? He is a KO artist, and the majority of his wins are through KO. I think it's easy to make a decision. Maybe some media outlets are just hyping Fulton a bit, so people will be confused. But let's keep it simple: Inoue is the favorite and is likely to win the battle.
1.98x is decent enough if that's what you want to hear and most gamblers around the world would surely take advantage of that odds because a KO win is more likely when it comes to Naoya Inoue and I reckon that it is a much safer bet compared to a decision outcome which is not very likely. It may be Fulton's division but we should not forget that the difference in weight is not that far.

Inoue's first-round KO win is at x40. Is it worth the risk?
With a small amount at risk and a high reward if you get lucky, you'll surely have fun.
Why not throw a few bucks, we never know. Things can happen in an unexpected way.
871  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 20, 2023, 08:47:33 PM
Noone deserves 260 million dollars max contract extension or anywhere close. People need to boycott sports honestly. The cost of a ticket is outrageous. Then add in food and drinks, parking, and any kind of memorabilia or Souvenir and you are spending nearly 200$ for a cheap seat to the game you want to watch.

It's greed on all fronts. The owners for charging the crazy prices, the players for the insane salaries they get, and the public for being dumb enough to pay it. If people stopped frequenting events and owners couldn't sell seats, maybe a reality check would happen and prices would drop. Noone needs that much money period.

I'm not saying these guys don't deserve to make a decent wage. Yea 25-50 million for 4-5 years, but 260 for 4 years is just silly. We have our priorities wrong. What about the cops who protect us? The doctors who save lives? The teachers? Ridiculous!!!!

Any professional sport is, first and foremost, a business. As far as I know, the main sources of income for NBA teams are TV contracts, sponsorships, merchandising, as well as ticket sales. However, even if we assume an arena fills up completely and fans spend an average of $200 per game throughout the season, that would only be enough money to cover the cost of one top player's contract.

I agree with you that the priorities are wrong. As an example, a neurosurgeon who saved many lives definitely deserves a salary of a few million dollars. But the reality is that money rules the world, and there is no government that will spend that much money on a doctor's salary because it is economically unprofitable.

This situations are not shocking anymore but it still unfortunate to hear these things because that is the reality we're facing, we know it's quite unfair but we cannot do something about it as these NBA players and other famous athletes who have been receiving millions of contracts are private individuals and been contracted to do private works.

Police and doctors in government owned clinics/hospitals are usually the people who are working tirelessly to save and protects lives but economically and for some other reasons, the paychecks that they received is unfortunately their reality.
872  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 20, 2023, 08:03:50 PM
On a positive note, if Haney vacates his lightweight titles then we will probably see Shakur vs. Lomachenko which is one of the best matchups that can possibly be made.
This is even more exciting as Loma is still not considered a leftover despite his loss to Haney. It was a close fight, and some believe Loma actually won. So if this fight were to happen, it would give Loma a chance to prove himself once again. And in case he beats Shakur, it would be a significant success for him, causing people to forget his loss to Haney.

Yeah, I think Shakur has been calling Haney or even Tank Davis for a fight at 135 lbs.

But if Haney goes up to 140 lbs, then it's going to be a ramble as he will vacant all the belts obviously. So it will be Stevenson, Loma and Tank Davis left at 135 lbs and most likely, a Loma vs Stevenson can be made easily as both are under Top Rank if I'm not mistaken.

Loma vs Shakur fight will surely be made if in case Devin Haney will vacate the belts upon his climb to the next weight class, but as far as I know while there are still no signs that Haney is climbing for good, Bob Arum wanted Haney to try 140 lbs. first without vacating his belts while his weight can still make it as Arum knows how risky it is and it's much better for the both sides if he is still a champion.

But if Haney will not make any move towards the next weight class, hopefully he can cater Tank Davis or Shakur Stevenson as this guys will be a huge waste if they cannot have their chances to fight for the undisputed title.
873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: July 20, 2023, 07:37:36 PM
Ngannou is a force of nature and very gifted athlete but when it comes to pure boxing ...Tyson will smash him and I don't think we will pas over round 7 in my opinion.

This event is also an entertaining one and I do hope Ngannou will come prepare and give it all he has instead of just grab the money and lose the fight...but we are still very early to talk about what happen besides that Tyson will win  Grin

Up to this date, there is no MMA fighter who have successfully made a name and upsets a known boxer in a boxing fight, many have tried but it's just too good to be true because boxing is a very different sports compared to UFC or other martial arts that they have fought with. They might have a generous amount of power locked in their fists but that will not amount to nothing if they cannot land it perfectly and their stamina will deplete as the fight drags on which will give again an advantage to the boxer.
874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 19, 2023, 05:41:52 PM
^^ Most likely two scenarios,

a. fans who bought the ticket for the Donaire vs Santiago will be refunded full.
b. or they are going to be given the chance to watch it on the reschedule fight.

So everything is building right now, the fans of both in social media are hyping the fight and have their own predictions on how the fight is going to end. I still haven't decided yet. But I might bet as the fight gets closer to the date.

That is the best thing they can do and it is more likely that the fans who have bought the ticket have an option to choose between A or B because it will be unreasonable if they will decide without asking which is more comfortable to the fans as they were the ones who dragged the fight in the first place without giving any prior notice and to give them time to adjust with the new posted schedule if they can make it work. Also, best assume that most fans who bought the ticket cannot watch the fight live anymore specially to the people who have a hectic schedule or work.
875  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beterbiev Vs Smith AUG 19 2023 SATURDAY IBF / WBC / WBO LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT Title on: July 19, 2023, 05:18:10 PM
So now that Canelo Alvarez had signed a 3-fight deal with PBC, Bivol was hanging without an opponent. A pursuit of unifying the belt against the 3-belt holder Artur Beterbiev is in the picture but I wonder if both networks and promoters agree to a deal. But the longer this plays out, the more Beterbiev is disadvantaged due to his age so there is also the possibility that Top Rank and ESPN may not really want to match them unless Bivol can be signed by Top Rank.

DAZN and Eddie Hearn should let Bivol have a 1 or 2 fight deal under the exclusive rights of Top Rank and ESPN if they really want to happen it ASAP. The WBC is all about money so greedy Sulaiman can cancel or make an exemption on its nonsense ban on Russian fighters when given the right amount of cheque.

Well, to be honest, I pretty much hope that WBC will be bribed easily and that the right amount will do the trick to make the undisputed fight into reality before Beterbiev starts considering his retirement. I mean, the man is just a few years away from being a 40 years old and before his retirement phase, at least he can have that fight because it will be total waste if he will retire without having any chance of cementing his legacy.

If there will be no pressure from someone above, I think they can get the WBC's approval with the right figure since they are the only ones who are making a stand to stop the undisputed fight from happening. Other than that, both camps can begin their negotiation and it will be a smooth sailing discussion as long as Eddie Hearn will let Bob Arum to organize it as the latter have the right to demand because it is his boxer who got more belts to offer.
876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 19, 2023, 04:08:37 PM

As of this point, both camps are yet to discuss that and start their negotiations because it is still too early for them to commence it. Besides, even if we say that Inoue have an advantage in this fight despite being the challenger, we still cannot say that it is a guarantee that he will win and will proceed to the negotiations for the upcoming undisputed fight versus Marlon Tapales.

Exactly, we have yet to see the outcome of this fight as it could still change. There are numerous factors that will be taken into consideration, with money being the main factor. If this fight has the potential to generate a significant amount of revenue and ends up being a close contest, then it is likely that we will witness a rematch.

The fact that they rescheduled the fight and included it as part of a mega fight (Spence vs Crawford) indicates that profitability is likely the main reason. This fight becomes even more significant than a main event in the bantamweight division because, despite being an undercard fight, it is part of a mega event that is expected to generate a substantial number of pay-per-view subscriptions and attract a sold-out crowd in the arena.

Are you talking about Donaire vs Santiago fight that was moved as part of Spence vs Crawford undercard?

Inoue vs Fulton seem to be happening this July 25. But they were also saying this Inoue Fulton fight was moved from May to July was because Inoue rant about WADA random testing which was done twice a week. What was reported though was that Inoue got injured in the training. Anyway as expected Inoue by KO is 1.90

I'm not familiar with the rant that Inoue about the WADA testing, but it is not the first time that I heard from the boxer themselves. Manny Pacquiao too during the height of his run was being testing randomly and he also complains about it. And it lead to the speculation that he is taking juice but it was not proven throughout his career submitting blood samples needed before a fight.

Perhaps Inoue might have the same fear of Manny, that is injections and how many blood are being taken every week.
Probably, these are just rumors because the official reason why the fight was postponed was that Inoue got injured during practice. However, if this is necessary, then I think they should comply with it to ensure that the fight will happen. It's not a big issue unless a boxer has something to hide.

The need of blood samples for WADA testing will not be a thing or needed if the opposing camp is not requesting it, I don't mean to say that Fulton's camp is scared or whatever be the reason is but I know that these tests will only surface if someone will request.

Just like during Manny Pacquiao's time, I think he also did that test before he faced Marquez for the third time.

With James harden trying to force his way out of Philly to the clippers, Ben Simmons shipped out & Markelle Fultz being a flop, it seemed like Philly was resting its hopes on Joel Embiid. Well, now Embiid is saying he doesn’t care what team he plays for, he just wants a championship. It looks like ‘Trust the Process’ may officially be a failure soon.
I thought the process was already over after the Simmons trade. He already has MVP attached to his name so it's understandable that the only thing left is winning the championship. I won't be surprised if he asked for a trade too just to get that ring. He doesn't strike me as a loyal and persistent player like Giannis.

Oh I bet he will ask for that in a few seasons from now specifically if the Philly will not give Embiid another buddy to keep the team rolling with or without him because he and Maxey will not be enough to get that ring. He may have the MVP award recently but that will not equate to someone who already have a ring and we all know that Embiid alone cannot at least bring the team to the conference finals.
878  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I avoid and identify scams? on: July 16, 2023, 08:00:33 PM
Perhaps, one should stop investing to every advertised coins you see on every social media platform since it's a never-ending cycle of producing new coins every now and then. Just focus on a reliable coin(s) such as BTC or ETH. It takes some experience to play well in this market since it's all a matter of winning and losing.

Through experience you will know who are those person you should trust. But crypto currency are most likely a gamble thus risking your investment whether they win or fail in this market. Since there are lots of factors that a coin may win for now but would gone after a couple of week so it's all a matter of risking or gamble.
The truth is in any type of investment, whether it’s in crypto or out of crypto, we should only trust our own self. That is to avoid the chances of getting scam, and just focus on working our investment based on how we understand it, and based on our own experience. And most importantly, focus on bitcoin. Bitcoin will never turned into a scam, even if a lot of us have claimed it to be a big scam.
879  Economy / Economics / Re: Things you should know about Money mindset on: July 16, 2023, 07:33:18 PM
It can be said that at this time money is the king and controller, in my country anyone who has money then can do the things he likes, starting from against the law because with money then he can pay for top lawyers, police, prosecutors to judges so that many cases involve people rich but their end result is not punished.
Yes, money could be the everything these days since every value comes with money, but in reality money cannot buy ultimate happiness and man’s health and satisfaction. It can only be used as a tool to provide everything we need but it cannot buy the love we need. So not everything money has the power, but we tend to forget it due to greed and selfish desires.
880  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade with caution on: July 16, 2023, 06:28:55 PM
Trading is definitely not everyone's cup of tea, especially if we talk about day trading or scalping which means that you buy and sell assets within a very short period of time to book some profits, which is what almost every single trader does when they say they are traders, you can barely find people who do long term trading like holding for a week or so so that the profit margin goes higher than the short-term trades we discussed earlier.

Having enough knowledge and experience is obviously required to become a trader or a successful trader, without enough knowledge about the market and the cryptocurrencies, and also not knowing the tools and analysis techniques will make you have a hard time trading different cryptocurrencies.

For successful trading, in addition to knowledge, you need to have good intuition. No trading tool is absolutely accurate. That is why intuition comes to the rescue. It is honed over the years, but you need to have patience. In addition, you need to have strong enough nerves to try not to take hasty actions
I guess having a good and correct intuition is a must. Knowledge and experience are powerful, but I also believe if you come up with the right intuition most often, then there will be more chances for your trades to be highly successful. Also, being patient and persistent on your goal are crucial too. You can’t be trading successfully if you don’t have the motivation to target your goal in the first place.
