981  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are afraid on investing to bitcoin? on: May 27, 2020, 03:11:44 PM
It will vary from person to person but generally it will always be about the perspective of the investor in how he or she views the asset. Like a more conservative person will invest in mutual funds but for people who are willing to earn more on their own they would likely invest in the stock market. The same goes with the crypto industry yes they can gain bigger compared to stocks but they are more riskier and unstable compared to stocks of company that's why investing in Bitcoin isn't really for everyone it all depends on how you accept the risk of losing your money.
982  Economy / Speculation / Re: Double bottom @ 3.1k or lower low @ 2k? on: May 27, 2020, 01:47:32 PM
"Both scenarios are possible" and then proceeds with no kind of explanation or analysis whatsoever explaining why is it a possibility. Yes I know there is a possibility here but as of right now where we are consolidating in the 8,500 to 9,200$ level we cannot even determine yet if we will fail to retest the 9,700$ level or not so determining if Bitcoin will bottom at this stage isn't something to look at right now since that is not what we are currently facing. This "Bitcoin is currently in a downtrend" you are talking about doesn't even exist since like what I have said above Bitcoin is consolidating which is neither an uptrend or a downtrend, basically it is a sideways movement for any chart.
983  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Bonniepays.com - Ponzi scheme on: May 27, 2020, 12:04:28 PM
They have another website being promoted in the Russian local board right now on this post.

Website:
Code:
https://vachevskij.ru/bonniepays/

vachevskij seems to be an active posted in the Russian local board in other similar websites as well. So aside from the bonniepays he is promoting in the Russian board he is offering another similar scam named Unitex Capital. This guy might just be promoting several HYIPs for their referral commission.
984  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: (discussion) as a newbie should you or should you not loan to invest in BTC. on: May 26, 2020, 11:18:38 PM
Not the best time to actually post this, newboes might actually think Bitcoin is a good buy right now when in fact asking for a loan just to enter the market right now will be a very risky move for any newbie. Like you have said in your OP “Bitcoin is on the rise” when in fact it already has risen in a significant amount already and buying at this point will just make the newbies don't have any margin of safety on their portfolio. A good rule of thumb is if it already had made a lot of noise and it its price went up considerably you know its too late to join. It's better to wait right now to see if tou'll have a better opportunity.
985  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Flag] Bruno AKA Phinnaeus Gage, Gleb Gamow, YuTü.Co.in, Bitcoin 100 & ??? on: May 26, 2020, 09:44:45 PM
Probably a close relative have managed to know all of his passwords after he passed away?
Probably a close relative would have come here to say "Thank you all for donations", you know...

Probably a close relative have managed to know all of his passwords after he passed away?
at a glance seen from: ( Phinnaeus Gage[Bpip] ), Since @Bruno was declared dead, no changes have occurred with the @Phinnaeus Gage account, except in 2018, changing passwords and e-mails, currently there has been no change.
If a close relative knew his account details there is nothing wrong in explaining that but that is not what happened. As you said there is no certainty that Bruno held Phinnaeus Gage account while his known alt was held by Suchmoon and who knows who was holding Gage account.

I'm just opening up in several possibilities here, it might not be a close relative but someone who is close with Bruno so close that he/she is trying to impersonate him and trying to make him look alive. As we can all see his passworld and email remain unchanged so really Bruno might just have gave his account and email to someone close to him. But my point really is this guy using Bruno's account is an impersonator and is trying to scam people thinking that he is alive and well.
986  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Flag] Bruno AKA Phinnaeus Gage, Gleb Gamow, YuTü.Co.in, Bitcoin 100 & ??? on: May 26, 2020, 06:35:29 PM
I myself is leaning more towards that his account is also sold rather him being alive and kicking. The selfie he sent as a proof of life barely looks like him and his reasoning about the money donated for him for his medication is really out of his main goal which was covering all the funeral expense he is asking for donations in the first place, he didn't talk about any him fighting his sickness so I really wonder who is using all of his account. Probably a close relative have managed to know all of his passwords after he passed away?
987  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: I won 38 bitcoin in 1 night and was forced to give it back. on: May 26, 2020, 03:53:10 PM
I don't remember what crypto gambling site it was (maybe it was Fortunejack) where the player also won several BTC from a bug as well a him playing in the US which is also not allowed, the wrong move he did is he  asked a proxy from another country to deposit his winnings in the gambling site which made a whole lot of mess with his scam accusation. But at the end when all things cleared out they let the player receive all the winnings even if it was from a bug and even if he was playing in the United States, overall I think your case is still acceptable. You aren't allowed to even play in their casino in the first place and they have the right to hold and freeze your account for the violations you have committed, you can't really ask for more at the end.
988  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-05-16] Pine64 Drops BitPay Before First Bitcoin Payment on: May 26, 2020, 03:14:16 PM
I strongly advise AGAINST using
@bitpay
and instead advise that you present your engineers with the option to use
@BtcpayServer
for free and have complete control over your online commerce

I'm surprised that a lot of users are already recommending PINE64 BTCPay as an altnernative for Bitpay. This says a lot on how the users are expressing their anger against Bitpay since they are recommending a complete opposite of it with BTCpay they have no KYCs, no fees, and the bad thing is the business will receive the payment as BTC which PINE64 may not like that's why they are trying to introduce Bitpay in their product. It might be a relief for consumers that PINE64 let their voices be heard but I doubt BTCpay will be their second option.
989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: May 26, 2020, 12:30:33 PM

According to JJ Redick they talked about it on podcast of "the ringer" that those top 6 teams are good and safe to play at playoffs. However, the 7th and 8th seeds would be still contested by those top 7 to 12 teams. And top 13-15 teams woule be out of the season.

Source: JJ Redick (just a rumor that he heard).
I would love to hear that if ever they record such things.
Do they?

He might be talking about this podcast episode which was uploaded in The Ringer's Youtube Scenario, they started talking about it around the 1:04 marked of the video. But even if it is JJ Redick talking about a possible format he directly said that it was just a "scenario" and there are no direct answers that this would actually happen, remember Redick is just a basketball player here and the plans for a possible format will always go above from the management and the stories/rumors might have changed when JJ has heard it from someone, so I wouldn't bet that this thing would actually happen.
990  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solution to too many promoters on: May 25, 2020, 10:56:34 PM
You won't be convincing anyone devs and their projects won't limit themselves in this forum. They will always want to have as much exposure as possible on the fund they don't have that's why they always max out the participants as this is their only way of marketing if they don't have funds for that. Devs don't care about post qualities in the forum or what sections they do it in as long as the participant is wearing their signature they'll be rewarded a stake. Also its their project and it is really up to you if you consider their rewards fair before you join/participate with their project.
991  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: People should manage the allocation of assets even when trading Bitcoin on: May 25, 2020, 07:54:45 PM
I don't think that's how allocation works when it comes to trading. If you set aside some capital meant for trading then it is really up to you if you want to focus on putting it in one asset or put it in several assets. You really don't care about the risk and reward since you have already allocated money meant for trading. Portfolio management is what you are talking about here when you are saying "allocation" this is where the saying "Do not put all your eggs in one basket" goes since you are limiting you capital in an asset so that if it fails you have mitigated the risk of losing all of your capital.
992  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Earn by Storing Your Cryptos in IBANwallets - FREE $10 for Signup on: May 25, 2020, 06:23:40 PM
1% daily interest rate is unstable for any service/business out there especially if you are just a wallet service, look at how many fake cloudmining sites like HashOcean which offered 1.3% daily interest fell down and other similar services.  1% may look like be pretty low to you but the compounding effect of that number for all of it's clients will surely be unstable in the near future and I know no company will be able to pay that amount. Trust me no legit entity will be paying that much and only sketchy people trying to make their service attractive do try this just to blind people.
993  Other / Meta / Re: HOLY FUCK !!!! THE SCAMMER IS ALSO A PLAGIARIST OF GIANT MAGNITUDE - SIG BAN NO on: May 25, 2020, 05:43:58 PM
At least on how I see things that would happen. There is in fact that plagiarism has happened with several posts from Lauda, what would likely be the outcome is she will be banned because of it but also she will be unbanned because of a ban appeal (she will have) which would most likely be approved since people will argue about the contributions she had for the forum. A ban really should happen hear if the mods would like to avoid any kind of retaliation from permabanned members and their friends on how Lauda will be getting a free pass for this, at least a due process on an appeal should be fair for all of us.
994  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and COVID on: May 25, 2020, 02:31:21 PM
What do you think about this bitcoin adaptation? It can benefit while we are having this pandemic outbreak.

Before they can even think of Bitcoin as a "contactless" means of payment I know for a fact that we are far away from being used as a payment just because of this pandemic, why? Already now payment processing companies like Visa, Paypal, Mastercard, or Venmo are the preferred options for having a contactless payment the reason why is they are also taking the initiative with the government that they can reduce the risk of people transmitting the virus because their payment system is done digitally. Aside from that there are already modes of payment that is widely accepted already so I don't think that the world is looking for a solution right now since it is already here for them.
995  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Goldman & Sachs to host a meeting about Inflation, Gold and Bitcoin on: May 25, 2020, 12:48:33 PM
What do you think they will talk about Bitcoin to their audience the will probably be made up of conservative investors? I know there are a lot of institutional investors already involved in the crypto industry but I haven't seen any news about Goldman & Sachs and their clients are having plans with Bitcoin, they might just talk about it but I don't think they'll be moving majority of funds in Bitcoin if that is what you are trying to tell us. I simply don't see this happening as of the moment especially when all the markets are down right now, I bet that is what they are plan to be talking about on what they'll be seeing as an opportunity on a discounted market that we have.
996  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Big Short movie, BTC edition? on: May 24, 2020, 10:45:28 PM
Actually only watched the Big Short last month -- one of my lockdown movies -- and always remember why I wait years to watch a "hit". Got to say it wasn't such a bad movie at all.

But nah, why would we have a Bitcoin edition? A Tether edition sure, but its peg hasn't been its only point of contention, and if the dollar and all other fiat no longer need to be fully backed 1-to-1, why would Tether need to be?

I always thought it was the (lack of) transparency that was our problem with all coins with issuers.

I think OP's whole point is Bitcoin right now in trading is heavily paired with USDT so basically if USDT got screwed in terms of its price it will pbviously affect Bitcoin's price so as other cryptocurrencies being paired with it. The crash in USDT will just result to these Tether hodlers to jump out and exchange every USDT they have and accept all sell orders in the market, prices will go down as a result. So if this is a potential big short I think exchanges need to act out and consider slowly removing USDT pairs in their platform.
997  Economy / Reputation / Re: “Join Roger Ver @ Bitcoin.com for non-cencored bitcoin discussions” on: May 24, 2020, 08:33:04 PM
I know that it may look like it's their own little space but looking at the stats where they have 297k+ readers and as of right now they have 2,188 online reading the subreddit it is a large group compared to BCT where as of right now we have 312 members online.

There was a change in how Reddit measures online presence a while back. I seem to remember it going up 10-15x overnight when they implemented it in the places I frequent, not that it really matters.

I think we'd be surprised how many never show their face here. It feels like the centre of the universe to its regulars but I've seen many people state elsewhere they've never visited.

Still my point is if people are making r/Bitcoin as their main source of information on Bitcoin information then they are being fed by misleading information with Roger Ver's trolls, even if anyone cast post there like what others have said Ver's army can just downvote the shit out of it for it to have no chance of even showing up in the trending section of the subreddit. This is a mainstream forum/social website we are talking about and I know a lot of people  use this as their main source of information. I just feel bad for them that they are being mislead that's why I think we need to have an initiative to counter them.
998  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] XTRM- Plagiarized content on: May 24, 2020, 07:01:59 PM
Well I don't find your remarks worthy, because the project itself seems very true and trustworthy to the people. I have searched all about XTRM and found that it almost listed on every crypto information sites like CMC,Coingecko etc. I think you have flagged because you don't know anything about this. First gather some information fool. You are here only to degrade so many coins and tokens.   Angry Angry

Following the same reasoning you have you mean that if the crypto's details/information is listed in CMC or Coingecko it is confirmed to be a legit project? If that is what you believe in I would like to refresh your mind that a long time ago BitConnect, one of the biggest scam coins in the industry, was also listed in a lot of websites and crypto exchange including CMC and Coingecko yet at the end it has scammed thousands of investors and fooling a lot of people in the industry. It's easy for any scam project to post and upload all their information in these websites since there is no in-depth screening going on that's why I really don't determine a ICO's trustworthiness just by looking if their information is available in several websites because scammers use this to fool people like you. They already plagiarized several content from multiple sources in the web yet you see this as something negative.
999  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 24, 2020, 01:50:29 PM
Is this true?

True?

Hard to say! Let's say these are the rumors that go around but nobody knows the truth.
The Icardi family loves Italy and Milan, the same player recently posted photos from his new home in Milan saying "good morning" Milan.

So he is in Italy even with the COVID outbreak.

I think if they can't find the Icardi deal, they could go back to Milan, it all depends on how much Inter wants from the transfer, I remember that Inter needs a lot of money to redeem players like Sensi and Barella.

Also don't forget that there are two MILAN teams in Serie A one is Inter and the other one is AC Milan. Now if he decides to move in Italy he definitely has a lot of options if he really wants out in both PSG and Inter. He can stay in Milan and play for AC Milan or be in Juventus and play with his fellow Argentinian star, Dybala, because with the news I have seen about his situation in PSG he is more likely to move out than stay put in there and he is more likely to go in the EPL or back at Serie A rather than  stay in Ligue 1.
1000  Economy / Reputation / Re: “Join Roger Ver @ Bitcoin.com for non-cencored bitcoin discussions” on: May 23, 2020, 10:45:10 PM
I mean can r/btc be saved at this point?

I prefer it as a place to confine them in their walled garden. It does feel a bit like entering a parallel universe when you go there.

I've noticed a resurgence of Tether threads which bubbles up every few months on r/btc. They have fixated on USDT being the thing that will 'take down' CoreBorgStreamBilderbergAxaCoin despite it being bleedin' obvious that it'll mangle their pet too. It's unquestionably more dependent on it.

If that level of blinkerdom can be maintained on there then I'd rather leave them to it.

I know that it may look like it's their own little space but looking at the stats where they have 297k+ readers and as of right now they have 2,188 online reading the subreddit it is a large group compared to BCT where as of right now we have 312 members online. Assuming those 2,188 readers are mostly not in the forum and their main source of Bitcoin information is in BTC's subreddit they will most likely be mislead in believing that Bitcoin Cash is some kind of alternative for Bitcoin and just like you said maybe Tether too. So really even if we say they are "confined in their walled garden" I think that they are enjoying their current situation right now where they have a lot of viewers compared to Bitcointalk.
