1461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why only 6.2 percent of American citizens own Bitcoin? on: November 17, 2019, 01:58:17 PM
In fact, 6.2 percent is not so small when you think about it.

Exactly. If only 1% of the world population owned some Bitcoin it would be worth 100 times more than it is now. Yes we'd be nearing a million dollars per coin for sure since there's less than 10 million BTC available for trade at exchanges. The rest is lost or held on cold wallets people aren't going to touch even if Bitcoin jumps by 1000% so all those billions of people will have to share 10 million bitcoins. Imagine the value, even when each of them decide to buy less than 1 mBTC. I wish we one day reach 6% in whole Europe.

6.2% is equivalent to 20 million bitcoin users in US. Thats a lot actually, add it all to the people in China who are using cryptocurrencies and to Russia and all the rest I think the world is already ready for cryptocurrency adoption. There are 6000 ATMs all over the world, if the coming bullrun ain't making anyone interested to see what exactly is Bitcoin and crypto I don't know what will.
1462  Economy / Economics / Re: Asset backed cryptocoins? on: November 17, 2019, 01:30:49 PM
Team of developers had tried gold back tokens in crypto but non of them works. This is believed to be centralized when there is physical attributes to a project, its just not possible to store physical materials on blockchain to make tokens valuable since it can all be stolen, burned or lost. If you have gold for instance with XAUR project, its just easy to take the word of the team that they have the gold with them stored somewhere.
1463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: could it be most project don't succeed? on: November 16, 2019, 04:19:56 PM
Verasity is just one but the number of failed attempts are way beyond.

This is an open platform of which projects will be posted at all times and there might be away bitcointalk can prevent people form posting  on the platform, but there are knowledgeable experts on this platform who are knowledgeable in the authenticity of the project and can tell the difference between a real project and scam project then warrn people accordingly to stay away from su h projects.  That's the viable way to reduce scam projects from geijg

thanks for your feedback,
you know it's obviously said that learning never ends, so we learn everyday from the leaders in the forum they also help us track down some projects just as you have said. carefulness matters a lot.

You can see several team members were tracked and users who tracked them open scam accusation threads for users to be aware of the scam possibilities. Often times these scam busters are correct with what they found out, when they see the images actually belongs to someone else and the name isn't correct, you can already sense its a scam.
1464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you any new ideas to replace the KYC? on: November 16, 2019, 03:20:03 PM
I don't think there is something else we can do to replace KYC, if they will do it they will ask mandatory registration with documents.
But we can probably replace our names with BTC address if the government will ask us which BTC address we use.

In the Philippines, there is a popular app named coins.ph all of us who lived here were asked to submit IDs to them.  WE can't change our BTC address forever, we don't even have the privatekeys to it but we use it since its just the only that will allow us to make transactions. If the BTC address we have to this company associated to out names we can be identified by the addresses we have. If the government seize them our data will belong to the government, our selfies are bonuses.
1465  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Need to Reconsider Holding altcoins on: November 16, 2019, 02:11:18 PM
I think the point @op is trying to make is whatever coin you are holding be it the 2 stated above or something else, think before selling off everything especially when there is a little potential in that coin, you never know how this might turn around so fast,
There is nothing wrong in leaving 10% of the the coin and sell 90% if you so badly want to sell.

That is exactly my point. thank you for understanding.

Can always do that but you may not see more of the users exactly leaving some altcoins that is just about 300 coins which each is worth $0.001. You are just hopeful that a project could be successful and users who got some of it miss the chance to profit more because they sell their share too early. Some bounty hunters do that specially if the coin isn't yet on the exchange. Either that or they are just too lazy to login to their Myetherwallet because it loads so slow and there are more things to do than dumping.
1466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Need to Reconsider Holding altcoins on: November 15, 2019, 08:29:18 PM

If some altcoins that hit its bottom while the team still are up to make some updates and new features and you can still see its thriving after the bear market, I guess its fair to invest to it. You can't just say a token rely much to ETH since most of the altcoins rely to BTC. There are altcoins that has its own blockchain with all the products being launched already but the price still is less than $0.01 and I think the coin still deserves a chance this coming bullrun if the developers are still up to make improvements and new roadmaps.

Blockv though is something suspicious, its just too sudden. You might have to wait and see what cause the uptrend.
1467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why not advance as a bounty hunter? on: November 15, 2019, 07:52:16 PM

Just look around, even the most trusted users here are still up to gain more BTC which most of the bounty hunters are up to. Those who are joining the bounty campaigns for altcoins are just going to sell those coins they have for BTC. Except for those who really believe that projects are backed by good developers and you'll see those coins on top of the list. Those coins are not dumped so much but are traded well by the looks of their volume per day.
1468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: November 15, 2019, 05:59:13 PM
Is possible see a sample of a shop created with BitBay ?

Well the desktop software has fully decentralized markets. There are not shops. Instead there are "channels" which are Bitmessage channels with security on the same level as TOR. And the nice thing is they are serverless. To join a channel just type in it's name as that will generate the keys for it. There is a default channel where Bitbay offers are posted however nobody is using it as they are waiting for the peg.

We also have online markets at demo.bitbay.market

After all the working product with the marketplace, there isn't much volume for it and its now just listed to one exchange which has a scam accusation. Maybe some exchanges like Crex can help?

good luck in 2020, you guys will (still) need it lol

There is still volume though. The development was completed already and I guess it just need some marketing and people using the decentralized marketplace. A good product that can only be found there will make it good.

1469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm planning to invest in Tron Coin on: November 15, 2019, 05:28:34 PM

The price of TRX is perfect for investing, you couldn't find a token that had taken a nosedive from 1300 sats down to 140satoshis. There would be nowhere left to go from down there but shooting up. Now that Sun had bought the Poloniex, we might be able to see how it will try to compete again to some exchanges with the help of TRX market. It will probably flip ETH.
1470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Prove that you shouldn't rely on icobench and others on: November 15, 2019, 05:06:40 PM
There were scam accusations ragarding some ICO bench advisors which they were asking 3eth for ratings and reviews. Gowithmi probably didn't pay for it that it only got 3.3  to its rating. This thread is just one example of ICO bench accusation https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5065117.0

I'm not sure either whether gowithmi had been successful today but I can see they were doing good for their investors and the working product is already launched.
1471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which one makes sense on: November 14, 2019, 06:51:18 PM

Its best if you are backed by the platform you are going to be using. For EOS I think you will be funded by the blockone if they find your project to have potentials. That is your best clue there. If your project is just going to be one of the shitcoins that doesn't even need to use a blockchain, your project is best to be killed before it can scam. So you have to evaluate your project first if it really needs funding.
1472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Central Bank Cryptocurrencies Are Pointless, Says Ex-Federal Reserve Chairman on: November 14, 2019, 06:04:40 PM

Central Bank Cryptocurrencies being centralize is what their point, its meant for them to see where the money/coins go. There is just no way for them to compete the decentralize BTC and this is the way for them to check all data coming and out from the centralized coin will be their solution. Blockchain technology can also be used against decentralization and governments will soon had their way to also fight back. Somebody someway will find a way to get around with it which we can follow as well.
1473  Economy / Economics / Re: finding investors on: November 14, 2019, 04:10:45 PM

You will find investors if you have a good project worth for them to invest, these investors need to see proof of profit after your project is launched. If you still didn't get investors after having a good project and offers assurance of profit, you kiss the asses of the crypto influencers in the sphere. Market a hype will get the word out not just sucking the dick of John Mcaffee which could actually work as well.
1474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Blocknet] truly decentralized exchange | token ecosystem infrastructure on: November 14, 2019, 11:53:51 AM
Are there any plans to add Ethereum to the Block DX? Surprised I couldn't find it Smiley

It's answerered in their latest AMA:  https://www.reddit.com/r/theblocknet/comments/dieqsv/blocknet_ama_thread/

It will hopefully get support eventually Smiley

I thought they were close with that quite some time back. Things move very slowly recently will all projects even the pretty promising ones like this. Let's hope the alt market picks soon and development drives forward at a more speedy pace.

I'm sure they have other priorities right now. Don't really think it's too hard to implement.
I'm seeing a lot of projects holding back on news and developments lately. Even projects I've worked with told me they are holding back, since it doesn't make sense to announce anything during a bear market, as nobody seem to care when the bear is out. Pretty sad, but that's the way it is I'm afraid.

Well if they want people to use their DX, the team should be adding coins and tokens probably the most traded to make it more useful for us. Users who wants to avoid KYC today prefer exchanges like this but will be disappointed after installing the software when they find out the coins they wanna invest in is not found.

Or is it possible that user can just add a pair for which coin they want? I can't know for now since I just uninstalled mine.

1475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you sell a million dollars bag of crypto? Would you trust exchanges? on: November 13, 2019, 11:39:50 AM
Just wondering if I want to sell significant amount of crypto, where can I do it ? By significant I mean $250,000+ of crypto.Would you trust Binance / okex / huobi to return their money to you , and how law can protect us from being scammed?
These 3 exchanger is good.but binance is best.Don't try to exchange huge money in one exchanger or one time. Try to trade different exchanger. I mean if you have 1btc worth of crypto then try to exchange in different exchanger. Like in binance 0.4btc worth of crypto, okex 0.3 and houbi 0.3. If you do in this method you are safe. Because amount is low.if any exchangers hold your balance then you will not loss all of your money. I saw that few exchangers hold money because of huge amount. So don’t take risks. And exchanger is always risky because you can not control them.

You are going to spend a lot for the withdrawal fee for that. One exchange is good already at least just 0.001BTC will be asked for the withdrawal, you wouldn't have to worry if its just a BTC.  You'd be worrying if you get  to withdraw more than 50-100BTC as they would be checking the big amount and where the funds are from. Just don't chose the unknown exchange you are good already.
1476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT HAPPENS IF BTC TOUCHES 100K ? on: November 13, 2019, 10:54:54 AM

The price of the tokens they hold are also going to rise.  If the token is just worth 3satoshi today, the value of it in USD right now could just be less than a cent but when BTC rise up to $100K 3 satoshi will also rise in USD could be worth $0.10. Its how it goes now think about it if you have about more than 10M of this token. BTC price go wildly up to $100k can also bring all up.

1477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What type of Cryptocurrency is used in the Deep Web for transactions? on: November 13, 2019, 10:22:49 AM

I thought the deeponion is also being used there. I'm not sure if there are merchants in out country that sells stuff in dark/deepweb right now but the last time I tried visiting there was none. There would be 3rd party escrow I guess or  smartcontract when making transaction I guess in deepweb. If LTC is mostly used in deepweb the fact that they don't have privacy feature, there would be no need for privacy coins why create one?
1478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty Hunters Please Explain This ? on: November 13, 2019, 09:48:13 AM

The legit projects are not just going to send out their tokens to bounty hunters either, they will rather wait and ignore if you if you call them scam for not distributing even when the campaign lasted 6 months ago. Some the tokens are already traded on the exchange but are not offering the manual swap to BEP. The kind of team is only giving promises, its better to just stay away.
1479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: US Airforce is using blockchain on: November 13, 2019, 08:19:45 AM

It proves blockchain to be the most secure database they can use even with quantum computing?

The usages of Blockchain is confirmed by many big firms. It's not something strange. We know that Blockchain has many advantages and use Blockchain technology will help us reduce cost a lots. Thing i wonder is when i can see people use Blockchain in finance and payment, all people, all countries.

Is the cheapest they can have than buying all the hardware. The adoption doesn't happen over night that we can buy joints tomorrow to get high while we drive going to our offices. Its always going to be gradual like the internet that we first use dialup and all we first open is the hotmail and the porn spam emails we get.
1480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoiners now is your chance on: November 12, 2019, 05:27:25 PM
At this point in my life, I would take old and established anyday over the new ones, although there are definitely no guarantees, just like HPB has recently proven to us, but I tend to think that old projects has stood the test of time and can be here longer than many new projects will, I think the new projects need to exist for a while to prove to us that they are here for the long haul, to avoid mistakes of the past.

If the market is in the recovery phase I guess investing would be good for the next season.

They are exactly the ones that will not die also if the bear seasons come again longer than 3 years. I'm however not going to think that it will happen often now since the adoption is almost here. There are certain coins I'd like to also purchase but there isn't much capital, the ones that I might just buy are the ones with the very decentralized properties like the blocknet, holo and xmr.
