1341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Speculation will drive the btc ride further as always on: December 12, 2019, 04:29:37 PM

$7k is quite a value. One will definitely want its price to depreciate as low as possible to buy at discounts. This proves itself that BTC is valuable base on intrinsic just like how the real currency works in the economy where we also speculate. I wouldn't say its just a store of value after all it solves centralization that scares people that central authorities can freeze their wealth.
1342  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Greta Thunberg is the time's person of the year 2019 on: December 12, 2019, 03:13:17 PM
Time magazine even featured Maria Ressa who had been harassing Duterte administration since election days, Time Magazine had lost it all and turned it all for being paid tabloid. Often times the people they feature are the ones managed by oligarchs who has the ulterior motives. You just can't trust any media today. But Congrats to Greta.

.... Times is just trying to sell more magazines, they don't really care about who the best person in the world was for 2019. Just trying to stir up some controversy and bring people to their site and to buy their magazines.

The HK protesters should've won this one. They're the people who are truly fighting against an oppressive government that doesn't care about them. People are literally being shot by police, while protesting, and the news barely covers it.

Shows what side the media, the big corporations, and the politicians are truly on (even Trump)

HK protesters are the worse. You are misinformed. For all we know, its funded by bigger parties wanting China's economy to slip.
1343  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: France to launch their own cryptocurrency on: December 12, 2019, 02:28:01 PM
Actually this is a matter that has been discussed very often not even once or twice someone discusses the news contained in an article or news out there, I strongly believe that all countries will make cryptocurrency for their country's growth, we know that every country cannot against the growth of the digital era because the digital era is already very strong to compete with, so it is inevitable that every country will participate to create a new movement for global economic growth in the future ..

Government backed digital currency is the future we are already seeing this going to happen after China reveal they are creating digital currency so countries followed. Somebody figured forcing people to use digital currency is the best way for government to track the money and also the government can collect tax properly, this is good way for government to manage the country.

While we tried to use decentralize currency to take the power back using blockchain, the government also figured to use blockchain against it.
1344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: {Boxing}: Inoue vs. Dasmarinas Mandatory Title Fight Ordered By IBF on: December 12, 2019, 08:48:27 AM

IBF is just going to send Dasmarinas to a beating. Less fighting chance for Dasma. Donaire didn't beat Inoue is because the monster is just too fast and can endure Donaire's punch. I lost my bet too.

Dasmarinas I think should first fight Donaire to see if he can also beat him and then conclude that he can possibly knock Inoue. Or let Dasmarinas fight more Latinos first.

1345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beginner needs advice for portfolio on: December 12, 2019, 08:16:58 AM

ChainLink is one of the most impressive altcoin I've seen so far this year. It outranked a lot since its listing in CMC and were then added to more exchanges which is not in the 17th. Not sure if its pumped but if its added on coinbase, its probably a verified volume.

Of course ETH is one that you are to focus with as well because its what the platform used by thousands of tokens.  Its becoming cheaper this week, I myself is trying to have about 32ETH.
1346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the most complicated thing about Bitcoin? on: December 11, 2019, 05:04:13 PM
I haven't experimenting anything with my electrum wallet such as sending BTC but setting few satoshi for the transaction fee, I'd be worrying more if its not verified for a long time.

My biggest fear was what will happen if my coins are hacked or I lost my key. Since as newbie I was told that you cant recover your coins in case they are lost due to any reason. This is perhaps still my biggest fear and I am sure fear of many others too.

Losing password and privatekey is a dead thing. Thats not a complicated thing to understand since you already knew that. Remembering and keeping your private key is the hardest so far. You can never be sure no one can find it.

1347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto trends that happened in 2019 on: December 11, 2019, 04:01:23 PM
Governments talking about using crypto?
World leaders talked about crypto in 2017 as well but this year, many has come forward promising to create their own cryptocurrency. Though it may not be as good as we know crypto as but it certainly would attract more people towards the real cryptocurrencies.

Yes it would attract same with Libra, though its not really going to be meant as decentralize cryptocurrency, the ingredients of it where it also uses blockchain means triumph for the blockchain technology. Government creating their own digital currency is also one of the trend this year and China was the first we know are developing it and then there's France and Germany.
1348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gold backed coins are real?? on: December 11, 2019, 03:34:47 PM

Its working for some projects like XAURUM, the issues arise about gold or real asset backed crypto is that its centralized. The old users in the forum had been discussing it which they learned that the gold reserved has to be regularly checked because it could happen that it may not be real. Its possible that the team is just deceiving investors also because they are the ones know only knew the situation and where the gold reserves are.
1349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So Italy is now anti-cash and pro-Bitcoin? on: December 11, 2019, 02:02:36 PM
In my opinion, 1k for cash payment is really to low value. And this anti cash law is not meaning anti fiat

Must be done to collect tax for everyone. Taxing the cash transaction is difficult for the authorities to do so they ban cash transactions, seem a better solution for the government as they see all transaction rather than cash. Doesn't really mean pro-bitcoin but they encourage credit or debit cards. It should be time for the card projects in crypto to work in these countries, projects like Monaco Card and Tenx will be probably be used by those unbanked.
1350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best Alt projects to take off in 2020 on: December 10, 2019, 08:58:04 PM

Matic is just one of the project that you are describing - launched almost just 6 months ago and also IEO. Token was dumped today down to -55% but the price in USD still is more than the ICO price. The token's price grew and it helped its marketing.  They were claiming to be scalable but I have no idea yet what is in their system.

There are lots of coins that did not do ICO specially the projects that were created on EOS and TRON, some of them are casino sites which are promising as well. Take for instance Hpoint.
1351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good advice or bad advice? on: December 10, 2019, 08:38:33 PM
I spent most of my time doing research on many altcoins, their old price to the present value and i find out that even if you sell your tokens today leaving few tokens worth few dollars for many years can worth something. For example if you left 9$ worth of bitcoin in your wallet since 2012 you would never have imagine what it will become today, in jan 2017 you can buy 5000 pieces of Ripple at 0.007$ which costs 35$ and in jan 2018 a XRP cost 3$ which turns 15000$, there are many examples like this on CMC, remember Tron too? My point is its bad selling off all your coins, if you needed money that bad always leave coins and tokens worth of few dollars left in your wallet just in case
This is good advice, leaving $10 in wallet is not big value, just think of it to pay a fee. But do not expect the value of the remaining tokens in the next few years will rise high, because these tokens could become worthless.

This is if the altcoins you hold are not going to die. If it won't then probably leaving just about 2500TRX in your wallet could be worth 2500USD as well in the future. You know the DOGE doesn't have that kind of price before, I don't see it going up but since people keep trading it since it was accepted in a gambling site, a lot had been using DOGE. Now they are speculating DOGE to moon that mcaaffee is now also expecting its price to climb.

As long as your altcoins will have a market and satoshi price, it will have a value in BTC. But don't put all your hopes to it.
1352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats the future of Altcoin on: December 10, 2019, 08:19:33 PM

Certain coins are sure to go up its however going to take time despite the halving that we are trying to hype. Although we could see prices rise up to 5%, in the next few days it could also drop to -5% as well. This is hard times to make money when the market doesn't provide significant spikes for you to trade. But holding tokens can be easier for a long time holder, you can just pick to the top ones like ETH, BNB, and EOS you are already in the good path but needs waiting time.
1353  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could Bitcoin increase as in 2017? on: December 10, 2019, 07:33:49 PM
Believers of BTC like we are always believe BTC can be worth thousands of USD like Mcafees speculation. Halving is a factor that may really pull the price up to more than $10K which is why this is a good opportunity to bet.

But  some believe it will be stable one day or could go below $3k again, all these are speculations which can frustrate you when you are hoping for big profits.

1354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Cryptocurrency (CCY) Insurance platform for Investors. on: December 10, 2019, 05:56:53 PM
OP isn't answering inquiries from the users here but had been busy replying to newbies who shills the project. There is nothing yet had been proven, the team is not open to revealing their identities but offering insurance platform so how are they offering guarante?

The market is getting stable though so scammer seeing its time to play god by pumping and dumping coins.
1355  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Huobi US (HBUS) Shuts Down After Consistently Low Trading Volume on: December 09, 2019, 10:14:09 PM
Huobi US has announced today they will be shutting down on December 15th, 2019. This comes after over a year and a half of low volume trading on the exchange.

I think they shot themselves in the foot by branding as "HBUS." They weren't able to leverage their brand that way. By the time they rebranded as Huobi, the damage was done. They might have also suffered from anti-Chinese sentiment given the US-China trade situation under Trump.

I'm wondering if Bitflyer US will follow the same fate. They have also been perpetually dead since launch, with single digit volumes some days.

Yes they could be. With all the brainwashed individuals on earth already hearing all the fake bad things about them, Huobi US will suffer. So this must be one of the reason why Binance suddenly decide to get into the US market, I hope they won't end up like Huobi US.  But I wonder why they give up this time after the long years of keeping up, now that the market is getting stable they just quit.
1356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: France to launch their own cryptocurrency on: December 09, 2019, 07:00:13 PM
So they realize China is doing the right thing?

Is this the norm now! Countries are creating their own cryptocurrency this days, am wondering how this is going to benefit the crypto space, at least, this government of this country's are recognizing the importance of digital currency,  if this is a good thing i hope other countries will emulate them.

Crypto benefits for this is the path to adoption but there is a catch to it.

If all countries have this digital currency, then the government may be able make regulations their way also. If the fiat papers are going to be useless anymore, we would be force to buy these digital currency they create but would have to submit KYC again. Taxation follows after it. BTC and perhaps other coins will still be here.

1357  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price 2020 on: December 09, 2019, 06:17:52 PM
I got secret news that in 2020 bitcoin will touch 9500$ and feb 14000$ .

I don't think that's any secret. Anyone can speculate prices (and there is a forum section for that).

Those prices sound plausible, given that in 2020 comes the next halving. What happens after the halving is what i wonder. Bear market? stabilization? both possible. If the bulls don't over do it starting 2020 i guess there is a better chance for stabilization. Halving is no magic and if they over do it price will correct, sooner or later, quickly or slowly.

I'm expecting stabilization since the regulators I think have been ironed all these to pave way for the new currency that will be used such as government digital coins. Cryptocurrency will be here to stay since they can't make it go away. Majority will wish the price to go up more than $20K and I hope the institutions will not hold it long, there had been talks about them controlling it through Bakkt.

Although its yet unsure when the price will go more than $20k, its going to be something to look forward as investor.
1358  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Taxation on: December 09, 2019, 04:52:19 PM

The KYC is really making it hard for us to escape all these taxation, although they were not getting crypto from us but only fiat, its still a form of tax that they wanna get from owning crypto. We got what we want though. We want adoption and they need to regulate and I guess this is a fair trade off for what is going to happen. Tax may change for each country when in the future our country also have digital currency and I guess that's the digital currency they will get from us and not BTC.
1359  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Night vision eyedrops allow vision of up to 50m in darkness on: December 08, 2019, 04:49:22 PM
I would like to have an eye drop that makes me go blind in day light temporarily so I can forget about the rest of the world and sleep lol. Who needs night vision when it is the time to sleep without someone debating the importance of saving such time. But kudos to the scientists though, now they can work day and night!

That already exists and you don't have to drop it in your eye.
It's called a blindfold.

Probably meant for the military to see while operating in the middle of the dark rain forest. Bringing some infrared devices will not be needed anymore but just a tiny container of it inside their pockets. If it comes from fish down below then it came from nature that flash lights won't hurt the eyes. This is very useful for the authorities really, they could improve it too to last more tan 50minutes.
1360  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bull run is delayed! Halving not helping! Bear go away on: December 08, 2019, 03:21:39 PM
Many of us had been expecting bulls are going to come since halving is coming in months. Price is climbing though. If the price suddenly goes up in a week or month, it may not be a good thing for its going to be a trap.

No bulls will try to keep up when his money will just be drained, the market isn't even stable yet. But its sure that big investors had already bought a lot of BTC when the price was below $4k and to them bullrun has started already.
