1701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have anyone tried to stop gamblers from losing while they keep on wagering. on: March 23, 2021, 06:32:32 AM
Won't interfering with someone even if they are losing so much a bit rude and could cause altercations or commotion? I mean I know that it sounds like you are helping them but sometimes there are things that aren't worth intervening especially if you don't know that person or you are not an authority. If it isn't rude to do that then a lot of people should have done it a long time ago.
1702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling firms helping Government and people during quarantine, literally. on: March 23, 2021, 05:54:04 AM
In the Philippines, gambling firm that is helping the poor are just own by the government, so it's still the government helping the government if we based on the title of the thread. IMO, private gambling firms are helping as well but only in the form of taxes, the bigger the revenue the government could collect, the more they can help and usually taxes on gambling firms are higher than other industry.
I think that the only one that is owned by the government is the PCSO and PAGCOR, I don't think that it is the government that really helps the people, the money that came from those gambling firms came from the money of the people that they spend buying lottery tickets, I mean almost anything that the government is paid by the taxpayers money so they are just there to make things happen but it isn't their money. The problem with collecting taxes is that there are some people that get away legally and illegally.
1703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Considering huge transaction fees, what coins to support on new gambling site? on: March 23, 2021, 05:13:05 AM
Why are there many people in the forum always suggest XRP? There is a lawsuit against Ripple and its founders for sales of illegal securities. It is also centralized. I reckon the best altcoins for new sportsbooks to begin accepting are Litecoin, Monero and Dogecoin.
XRP as far as I know has the lowest transaction fees but yeah you are right that lawsuit is a problem. The problem with new sportsbook is that they are not as established as the other sportsbook so you will have a problem with trust for awhile. Doge might be a good alternative.
1704  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Strategies best used to play plinko game on: March 23, 2021, 04:37:23 AM
As others have said, Plinko is a luck-base game, so there's no best strategy.

If you get lucky and won big, then I say that's enough for the day though. Do not push your luck as it may run out. You need to control your emotions and be a wise gambler. And I think that is the perfect strategy for any games, i.e dice or slots.
Exactly as far as I know the ball drops like a real plinko ball drops so I think that there is no strategy in that maybe the only strategy that works is what @Jating says, quit while you are ahead. It is easy to say to control emotions but I think that in practice that will be difficult for a gambler to do let alone be a wise one.
1705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Being impredictable on: March 22, 2021, 10:38:08 AM
It is much better to play poker online just like most of the people here in this thread are saying because in that platform, they can't read your facial expression but only your actions.

So it is much easier to bluff there compared in an actual poker game which can pressure you so much and make you unfocused. Being predictable depends on your past actions and it will hardly affect your future action so planning is really required also based on your cards. But if you have the guts to bluff so much then it will just lose your strong hands as a poker player.

By that, you will end up losing so much opportunity and money while playing in that game.
Also worth mentioning that with online poker, the only thing that you have to worry about is the pattern that you are showing to other players and recognizing their patterns too. If you know what you are doing you can use that sense of being a predictable person to condition others to think that you are going to do the same thing, the art of bluffing to me is to make it so sudden and not slow because your opponent will be pressured to do a move.
1706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Lopez vs Kambosos ordered by IBF on: March 22, 2021, 09:21:30 AM
Quick update on this fight.

Looks like we already have a date, per Teofimo Lopez it will be on the 29th of May via Triller PPV who won the purse bid for the fight.

Just don't how if this fight will sell to the boxing fans as this date is close to the Canelo vs Saunders bout which will happen on May 8 and the hype for this fight might not be there.
Hopefully despite the almost overlap of the two fight the admittance is not going to be that bad because boxing fans have been wanting to see this fight materialize for a long time, there are a lot of fans for these fighters so I think that audience might not be a problem but considering they are both sort of a young gun in the game might be a possibility that not a lot will watch. I would go for Lopez considering he has a better reach and he is younger which could translate to an endurance.
1707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a lone bettor or a competitive one? on: March 22, 2021, 08:44:37 AM
Betting against friends sure makes it more fun. I enjoy the trash talk and analysis of the game whether I win or lose my bets. To me it just another layer to enjoy sports betting overall. However, I think losing to fellow friends makes me compete more which resonates to more urge to bet to get even. To some people it could turn out bad, but I think what's important is to enjoy the game, thrill of betting with others and knowing when to stop.
Exactly, when things get a little competitive crossing the line sometimes is a possibility, that will only happen if the people you are playing against are your friends and almost some of your friends will not be able to take a trash talk or a joke but if you are competing against strangers I think that it doesn't really get that competitive but you still have to do your best because it is a competition after all. I don't do betting a lot but I don't like doing competition so I assume that I am more of a lone bettor myself.
1708  Economy / Gambling / Re: If you loose your funds don't loose the fun on: March 22, 2021, 07:55:40 AM
Disappointment and depression make a poet of us, this is a good poem with a good moral to learn, we really need a friend like your friend when we are facing depression because of our loss, we all suffer this kind of loss, even long time gamblers cannot escape from losing, and it's important that we have some love ones or friends that will keep us out from depression.
Sometimes friends and loved ones are not enough for someone who suffers in depression, in regards to this topic being depressed because of gambling calls for a medical intervention in my opinion. Gambling is fun until you become competitive and needs to get back the money that you lose but you instead lose more along the way.
1709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Major Risks in Crypto Business on: March 22, 2021, 07:21:15 AM
I would say that one of the major risks of crypto business is its longevity because most cryptocompany start-ups do not last that long because they don't have a plan to stay for long, maybe the lack of investor, clients or money, we don't know the cause but that is a risk that I think that upcoming companies should address, can they scale to keep up and stay in the game for a long time. One other risk that I can think is the volatility but that could work on a companies favor depending on what service they are going to offer.
1710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 'The Simpsons' know who Satoshi Nakamoto is! on: March 22, 2021, 06:46:40 AM
The Simpsons is notorious for predicting some iconic scenes in history, though I think they're just playing when they placed that message on of the episodes. At this point, if they turn out to be correct (which I know they aren't), I'll be damn sure to pray to the Simpsons gods that are the writers and producers. With the anonymity Satoshi paired with his work, I doubt people would ever find the person/people behind the persona unless they themselves come forward and reveal themselves.
Well, the Simpsons respect people in a way so I don't think that they are going to delve deeper into satoshi's identity because that is an insensitive thing to do to be honest, prying on the privacy of the people and making them exposed without their consent. It has been ten years or so since satoshi has gone dark and the remaining trail to his/her identity is definitely going to be cold so I think that no one is going to be able to know who satoshi really is.
1711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bicoin is making many rich how did satoshi come about this idea on: March 22, 2021, 06:08:44 AM
I think the reason that satoshi invented bitcoin was because he/she was inspired from other electronic money before bitcoin and so he/she started working on the idea from the previous electronic money and improved them. The other reason might be that satoshi wanted to create a type of medium that cuts the middle man from the seller to the buyer to make a faster transaction.
1712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is trash on: March 22, 2021, 05:31:31 AM
It's like you are wishing to use Bitcoin without getting in between banks and the government. Take note that the standard medium of exchange we use is fiat, and it is under the government's control. I guess you are yearning for a different extent of freedom here.
Isn't that the goal of bitcoin in the first place to get transactions done without the middle man but that is a difficult thing to do because government is not an adversary that you want to cross swords with, they have the resources to strike if they think that they must do so, maybe if someday when bitcoin becomes a bigger influence I think that governments might get soft and consider it as a means of exchange besides fiat.
1713  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency still being discussed in Nigerian Television on: March 22, 2021, 04:35:41 AM
I think if the people behind these broadcast were against bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, I think that they are going to shoot their foot in this scenario because they are broadcasting in television and television is never out of fashion when it comes to disseminating information and making people curious about something so this broadcast is only going to make their population get curious about bitcoin not to mention that they really did a good job doing a detailed analysis.
1714  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1 million BTC wallet on: March 21, 2021, 06:00:50 AM
Its safe to assume that this is just a mere speculation. How could you say you'd learned it as we can checked the blockchain explorer for those top wallets holding tons of bitcoin doesn't have a wallet with million accumulation alone. That's gonna be a huge money and a person holding a million of BTC is gonna be a top position to either dump or pump it on market.
And if there really is a 1 million bitcoin wallet then the news outlets would be covering that story a long time ago. Not to mention that it isn't smart to put that amount of bitcoin in just one wallet, that is like giving away free money to someone who attacks you.
1715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invested in alt in 2017 ..and now need help to dont do same mistake on: March 21, 2021, 05:07:55 AM
We all learn from mistakes, nobody do it right for the first time. As Warren said, “buy when everyone fears to buy and sell when everyone fears to sell”. In my opinion, the opportunity to buy bitcoin has passed and it’s very risky to jump with huge capital at current high price.
That is debatable, if you are aiming for a short term gain then buying at the current price will yield you with small profits but if you were to aim for the long term then now is the right time to buy bitcoin because overtime bitcoin will grow despite short term dips. It doesn't need to be your mistake for you to learn, the wise people learn from the mistake of the other people.
1716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good news for Nigerian crypto enthusiast on: March 21, 2021, 04:30:06 AM
I am happy for the people of this country to see the news, arguing from the outset that there will be governments of some countries that have laws to limit the use of cryptocurrencies, but that that's not possible. When it is too small, they cannot control it, until it has developed and is considered as a profitable investment channel, there is no reason to stop it.
Yeah, it is a good thing that they are finally clearing the confusion with their ban, I think they still have the ban in place but they are stating that people are free to deal with cryptocurrency but not within the banks, I might be wrong which is a good thing because that means that the Central Bank of Nigeria gives up their position that opposes cryptocurrency.
1717  Economy / Speculation / Re: ARE WE STILL BULLISH OR BEARISH ? on: March 20, 2021, 11:40:09 AM
The price of bitcoin in the market is currently at 60k, the market chart is currently experiencing bullish, but after yesterday it reached around 62k, the market experienced a price reversal but it looks like the price will go up again,
I guess we are still on the bullish part yet, which is pretty scary considering that this year's season is different than the other previous years so to everyone, be careful and don't be greedy because we don't exactly know when will the bull season stops and the bear season starts.
1718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What made yoi think of investing in bitcoin at the current market? on: March 20, 2021, 10:46:33 AM
Investing in Bitcoin is always a smart thing, in my opinion. Because you are not able to know when the price will reach the highest level of its potential and start going down sharply. There are many people and companies that still prefer continuing to buy. And I don't think it will change easily at whatever level we see the price.
Smarter thing to do when investing in bitcoin is knowing when to get in to maximize profits overtime, for example you enter at around the current price then the next day the prices slumped down significantly but if you waited for that to happen then you could've got a cheaper entrance to bitcoin, always enter the bitcoin market when the prices are going down because overtime it will go up.
1719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Has Bitcoin.com stopped presenting Bitcoin Cash as the real Bitcoin? on: March 20, 2021, 10:02:22 AM
They might've hit their head and realized that they have to stop pretending that Bitcoin cash will be the same as bitcoin or they got tired of tricking people into buying the bad bitcoin clone in the end we can only speculate as to what was the real reason behind the change of heart of Bitcoin.com, either way it is a good thing that they are back to bitcoin as it should have been in the first place.
1720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Supply Be Manipulated? on: March 20, 2021, 09:10:18 AM
Isn't manipulating the supply called forking? As far as I know, bitcoin supply can be manipulated but it wouldn't be the same because bitcoin supply is already set in stone and any further changes has to happen when it was still in development.
