Why would these old fucks support the associates? If we look at it from their point of view then there is no benefit even in the long term.

They just want to milk the Indian market and keep filling their pocket. In almost every podcast or commentary there is a subtle indication that BCCI should give up a big portion of their share because they earn enough through IPL but no one even argues how to make the existing market lucrative for the rest of the boards.

Fake teams get higher ranking, because they win matches with the help from Indian and Pakistani players. And in the end, since their ranking is higher they get a higher share of the revenues.

Even the representation within ICC has now moved into their hands. This time, Imran Khwaja, Pankaj Khimji and Neil Speight were elected as the associate representatives in ICC. And among them, Khimji is widely known as a proxy of the BCCI. During elections, Khimji managed to defeat Mahinda Vallipuram as a result of mercenary teams voting en bloc for him.

West Indies failed to qualify directly for ODI World Cup 2023.  Therefore, the West Indies Cricket Board has already announced a 15-member team for the qualifying round to qualify for the main round of the World Cup. 
Several iconic players have been left out of the World Cup qualifying squad. The team was announced with Shai Hope as the captain in the 15-man squad.

We would hope that a team like the West Indies would never be eliminated from the qualifiers and would have high hopes that they would qualify for the World Cup. Because without a team like West Indies, the World Cup will be empty.

We desperately need a drastic reform in the ICC and cricketing format.

IMHO 3 formats are not sustainable if we are looking at it from the perspective of "Spreading the game" and "Expanding the participation in the ICC tourney".

At best there should be only 2 formats, if possible restrict it to one, preferably a T-20 format that's it. Let existing test nations play tests but rules should be relaxed for associates in regards of funding (like no need to create a 4 days domestic setup )and if given a choice then i believe every associate will be happy to follow this guideline.

For long time I am calling for these changes in ICC as they need to work on just two formats which change the funding system as well because now things are getting worst with current system and development which is not working and creating mess-up if we have T-20 and test formats which some changes in funding and playing conditions surely ICC will be able to have better results, and also we will be able to have better revenues as well specially while now cricket is doing good in Southeast Asia where Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand are bringing their teams win native players T-20 format can do good changes.

But sadly not in ICC agenda for the next few years which is surely creating problems for them and many countries which are facing lacking of funds and having not positive support from anywhere for their setup.

As a result, these boards eat up most of the paltry share of revenue, that is allotted to the associate nations. Indonesia and Thailand are 100% made of natives and have performed exceptionally well in the recent times. But in terms of fund allocation, they always receive a very small share compared to UAE and the USA. The ICC even provided direct qualification to the USA for 2024 T20 Cricket World Cup (they are currently ranked at 22nd place, according to the latest T20I team rankings).

There was an era of West Indies cricket where they perform really well in red ball cricket. A few years ago there perform really well in white-ball cricket. Especially in the T20 format. But now they are not performing well in that has well.

Anyway, Darren Sammy is a very young individual. He will have that hunger to perform well and prove himself. But you will need a lot of time to actually bring in results in my opinion. After all the situation of the team is not very good. Government interference and corruption will also have to decrease otherwise it is not going to matter who is in charge.

There is some exciting news from Malaysia. The Malaysian Cricket Association has announced that they will be launching a T20 league this year, comprised of 5 franchises. The league will be sponsored by IPG (who were the official promoters of the Lankan Premier League). According to Mohammed Iqbal Ali bin Kassim Ali  (MCA president), local Malaysian players will get an opportunity to play with some of the top international cricket players. All the matches will be played at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. My only concern is regarding the availability of international players. The T20 league calendar already looks over-saturated.

Furthermore this league will probably be home to the reserve squad of national team’s and player’s who can’t play in league like IPL hence I don’t expect much viewership for them apart from their local fan’s.

Well.. Malaysia is not the only associate nation trying to cash in on the T20 format. Canadian Cricket Association has already announced that they will be resuming the Global T20 Canada this year. The league was started in 2018 and the second edition was staged in 2019. But after that the organizers faced some difficulties as a result of COVID and the 2020-2022 editions were cancelled. Yuvraj Singh is one of the players who will feature in GLT20. He will be representing the Toronto Nationals franchise. There are rumors that Kieron Pollard will be participating, but there is no confirmation as of now.

2. The second rule is entirely for batsmen and wicket keepers. The second rule states that batsmen and wicketkeepers must wear helmets while bowling fast balls.  This initiative of the ICC to ensure the safety of the players is undoubtedly commendable. 

3. And the third rule is that if the batsman scores a run without the ball hitting the bat, then that run will be added next to the batsman's name. To put it simply, if Virat Kohli is bowled by a free hit in the World Cup match between Pakistan and India, then the ball gets four on the stamp and that run is added to the team's run but not added to Virat Kohli's run. From now on that run will be added to the batsman's side

Good decision on the "soft signal" as it was a very flawed rule. Imagine a fielder claiming a catch on the boundary line and it's not a clean catch (he/she is not aware) and they started celebrating, followed by the umpire giving a soft signal out, to overrule on-field decision third umpire needed a conclusive decision. These guys should also look at the "Umpire's call" in the context of LBW.

And the controversy that would have arisen on these issues will not arise after June 1.

Considering the safety of the players, this rule of ICC is really a very commendable initiative. Before this rule. till now wearing helmet was completely personal matter of batsmen and wicket keepers but ICC is going to make this personal matter mandatory. Now, when batting or fielding against fast bowlers, a batsman or wicket keeper has to wear a helmet even if he doesn't want to. 
I said it is a reasonable concern because many cricketers have died or become paralyzed for life after coming to play cricket, so if this is made mandatory, the players' lives will not be at risk.

It's good news for the game of cricket as now we have too many countries are interested in franchise cricket specially which are economically strong because this will help them and also few other boards which will be able to send their players here in these leagues for experience and money as well but sadly here we have one issue we have no luxury like soccer as too many leagues can go through once and all have equal fanbase even this is possible but surely going to take good time.

MCA is surely doing good, and they can do much better than many countries but here I want they try to have support from few other regional countries as well which will create good interest in this region like they have Southeast Asian games franchise like this surely can help them better financially with fanbase could be also huge.

Don't know whether it makes economic sense to have franchise T20 leagues in these small countries. Even full member nations such as South Africa and Sri Lanka struggled to launch their T20 leagues. The main issue is that a lion's share of the revenue comes from India, and I don't think that countries such as Malaysia have a good potential to earn cricket revenues from the domestic market. And when they are dependent on India for the revenues, it is important to have players from India. And that is tricky, given the BCCI's rejection of overseas T20 leagues.
