ATP Rotterdam, Netherlands Men Singles

Alex de Minaur - Andrey Rublev

Alex de Minaur, who currently occupies position 25 in the ATP ranking, is a tennis player who in 2021 managed to reach position number 15, so he should not be underestimated in this game, knowing that he has never won ATP Rotterdam, he will try very hard to be able to win and make history in his career, his opponent currently occupies the 5th position in the ATP ranking, last year he won several tournaments, and this year he had an acceptable performance, I see Andrey Rublev winning this game, for That's why I bet on him to win the game

Holger Rune - Constant Lestienne

Holger Rune comes into this game occupying the number 9 position in the ATP ranking, and he had a very good run in terms of victories, he won: ATP Stockholm, ATP Basel and the ATP Masters 1000 in Paris in which he won the Novak Djokovic, but unfortunately in the last tournaments he has been doing badly, while his opponent Constant Lestienne occupies the 48th position in the ATP ranking, he has bad results, he has not won anything relevant, I think that Rune, despite having bad results results will still be able to win this game, for that reason I bet on it to win the game

Rotterdam: All the favourites made it to the next round without any major problems. Zverev showed that he is not yet fit enough for longer rallies. But that would be one wish too many.  He needs to get some practice and build up his self-confidence. After not being able to play for 8 months it will probably take just as long.

Sinner is playing right now. He won the first set very clear. But it seems he is losing the second.

Guys like Federer don't need to worry about money ever again, but I don't know whether Wawrinka has any big sponsoring contracts like the other three guys. If you deduct all the cost for traveling and coaching and so on and so forth, 35.5 million sounds huge but it can still be spent. Wawrinka is more dependent on what he can earn now than what comes after he ends his career. Though I think that he is quite a down to earth guy but who knows.

He is still fun to watch though as he can be a strong fighter on the court. I'd like to see him advance to the next round and get a stronger opponent. Would he meet Zverev if he makes it to the next round?

I think this is going to be a very close match between these two. Because I honestly don't think there are too many differences between them. Now as much as I have seen both of them play, I cannot say one is clearly better compared to the other. But at the top of the level, it all comes down to making simple mistakes and avoiding the simple mistakes. That's where Rublev is better compared to Minaur.

I think this is a bit easier to predict compared to the last one. Rune is the better player coming into this match against Lestienne. Rune should still be able to win this match even if he cannot perform to his full potential. I am not tempted to say that this match is going to be an easy walk in the park. But at the same time, it would be very surprising if he ended up losing this match.

And in the end, De Minaur won. I did not see the game. But since only one break point was needed, it seems that the players only won their service game because of mistakes from their opponent.

The last match of the day has just started. Griekspoor against Zverev. Griekspoor is serving better than Zverev. It looks like Griekspoor is more likely to make the first break.

Zverev took the first set convincingly but Griekspoor took the next two sets and the match ended in victory for Griekspoor.

Today's match, Tsitsipas' will play against Sinner, their last meeting was a tight match and won by Tsitsipas and my prediction this will be a 3 set match, Sinner can take a set but the match will be win by Tsitsipas.
Medvedev vs B. van de Zandschulp, will be a 2 set match and Medvedev will still go to next round.

@Strongkored I’m kinda disappointed in Zverev because the way he won the first set I thought that he would go on to win the match, but it seems that he has yet to learn how to capitalise when he’s ahead. Also Tsitsipas is definitely everyone’s favourite for this match, and personally I don’t think that Sinner can extract revenge by defeating Tsitsipas.

$35m is huge for tennis. Take a look at WTA top 100 for example: there are players who are 26-28 years old (so slowly approaching the end of their careers) with $600-800k total earnings. I mean, you're in top 100 of your sport and you haven't even earned enough to pay your team and for your travel? That's ridiculous! So, Wawrinka with his $35m (plus probably another $35m from endorsements etc) is a very wealthy person for the sport.

You got me wrong here totally! 35 million is a shit ton of money and of course it should be enough to live an amazing life forever. But keep in mind that many of these guys implement a living standard that may require millions per year. Put on top of that a wrong investment decision. Forgot about Boris Becker? He is financially ruined like hell. Invested in car houses and lived like a king his entire life, then even went to jail for hiding insolvency and things of value that could have been sold.

Again, I personally am not saying that 35 million is not a lot of money, it surely is!! But when you have a couple of lambs and houses and kids and a private jet, you probably realize at some point when your career is going to end that you put some more dollars to the side.

Hope you understand what I mean.

I watched that match last night, Zverev had good moments in the match but
Griekspoor did really well to get through with the win. I also thought Zverev would
go on to win after the first set, but yea looks like he isnt fully fit or possibly a bit
anxious of getting those torn tissues in his ankle...

Tsitsipas v Sinner - really looking forward to this, would live to back Sinner but
I'm not sure, I havent seen him playing yet, maybe a dollar bet for a bit of fun??

Tsitsipas v Sinner - really looking forward to this, would live to back Sinner but
I'm not sure, I havent seen him playing yet, maybe a dollar bet for a bit of fun??
My money is on Tsitsipas in this one. He just feels like a player with higher ceiling. I don't see Sinner ever winning against Tsitsi in top form while I can invasion Tsitsi squeezing a win even if he isn't on 100%. That being said, Sinner is a complete package and I am sure he can do some damage on Tsitsi backhand. That is the way to play against Tsitsi, make him hit hard backhands and hope this is the day when it is a bit off and not firing winners.

This is going to be an interesting one. I personally also think that Tsitsipas could be the one who will be able to win the match. But of course, it is going to be a very close one. This is still a round of 16 match. Don't get me wrong, I also think that Sinner has the potential to be a competent player. But right now, I believe that Tsitsipas is likely on track to perform better.

And one thing I have also noticed is that a lot of elite players are actually not very strong on their backhand. Tsitsipas is likewise one of them. So it is not surprising if Sinner focuses on that. However, even after that, Sinner won't be able to win. Anyway, that's my prediction.

Any tips on a WTA tournament in Doha? Some interesting matches today: Koudermetova defeated Gauff (I was sure Coco was to win this one), Bencic withdrew against Swiatek, Pegula won against Haddad Maia which was totally expected. Garcia - Sakkari is still under way and Maria won the first set I guess?

Any tips for the semis?  Cool

Unfortunately, the WTA is very unpredictable, I rarely make bets on it anymore. Only
thing I can say is watch Swiatek, simply because she is #1.

Great win by Jannik, I watched this one and he was super focussed and played electric
tennis. From the stats he was twice as good as Tsitsipas particularly on serve.

Medvedev must first pass FAA in today's match, Medvedev's favorite even though FAA is the defending champion here a tight match will be possible and last 3 sets, If Medvedev can make it to the semifinals relatively he will get an easier opponent, FAA is the biggest test in this tournament it's just that because he hasn't been good enough in recent tournaments it is very possible for Medvedev to lose to any opponent.

I watched that match last night, Zverev had good moments in the match but
Griekspoor did really well to get through with the win. I also thought Zverev would
go on to win after the first set, but yea looks like he isnt fully fit or possibly a bit
anxious of getting those torn tissues in his ankle...

After Griekspoor had managed the first break in the second set, Zverev had not fought back well. Maybe his mental fitness is not so good yet. But before the break he had problems with his neck. Maybe the combination of both was the problem. No confidence in his body and mental fitness yet.

After beating Tsitsipas, Sinner has an open path to the final. He'w playing Wawrinka next, and then a wildcard player in the semis if he wins today.

Medvedev - Aliassime looks like the best mach of the tournament so far, I'm looking forward to that one. Considering the form they are in, I feel that FAA should be the favorite to win.

Auger ended the last year good but now started a little slower then expected,i expected more wins from him but now he has a hard match against Medvedev that is looking to get back into the top 10 and has a really good chance if he wins this tournament but still a lot to go for him.

finally Sinner is showing a minimum of continuity in his results and against Tsitsipas, it was not so easy to predict a victory with this effort... who knows if Sinner will be able to reach the final again
