In tennis it is mostly about your fitness and whether you can participate in enough tournaments within a year, and even that is up to the player. Djokovic isn't playing as much as he used to and so he knows that those tours he is playing, he also must win them in order to stay at the top. I think he is going to add a couple of weeks to that number in his career. In a sport with so many potential competitors around the world that's amazing. The next Djokovic could have appeared at some point, but no, it shows how exceptional he is. That also counts for Nadal and Federer of course, whereas Nadal's number of French Open wins is blowing my mind much more than his ranking number 1 weeks.

Alcaraz would be same on points with Djokovic should he manage to win the ATP Rio, but what Djokovic has achieved so far is an incredible record and one that will last for quite some time.
I missed this match and Machac was a good player I saw him when he was in AO he gave resistance which was not easy for Casper Ruud and several times in a tournament Djokovic often lost sets but in the end he was able to overcome to beat his opponent, the next opponent will be Tallon Griekspoor for sure Djokovic his favorite and in their first meeting Djokovic won.

In tennis, for almost 15 years, we have been watching the great fight of three tennis players for the top of world tennis, and in such a fierce competition, being the number one tennis player in the world for so many weeks is a miraculous result.
I'm sure the next challenge for Djokovic now is to surpass Nadal in number of GS titles won and I think we can expect a big fight between him and Nadal for the GOAT title .
Tennis will never be the same when Djokovic and Nadal retire.

Zverev and O'Connel are playing each other right now. They do not take each other much away and each usually finishes his own service game quickly. Zverev won the first set 7:5 and just now Zverev is powering up a bit and takes his first break point in Set 2 after 4:4. It looks like Zverev will win and finally reach his first quarter-final after his injury.

Edit: And he has won. The last set went very quickly for Zverev. That victory gives him a lot of self-confidence.

A lot of people say that a lot of time. I don't believe tennis is going to be any less popular after Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic retire. Is it about to cause any changes? Yes, it probably will. A lot of the older fan base is probably not going to be there. But at the same time, there will be talented and young players, who will be followed by young people from all around the world.

Novec Djokovic is certainly on track to surpass a lot of legends in this game if he can continue playing like he is right now. Of course, he has the ability to do so. I think when he retires he is indeed going to be called 'the GOAT'

Djokovic has already indicated that he does not expect to remain number 1 uninterrupted for very long in the near future. According to him, it has to do with the fact that players like Alcaraz and Tsitsipas are younger, have better condition and can therefore play more tournaments. But I think those players are not at all concerned with becoming number 1 in the world. They just want to play as many tournaments as possible and win. We have seen few clashes between Djokovic and Alcatraz, hopefully that will change this year. Right now Djokovic is playing against Griekspoor.

Zverev did a good job but Auger-Aliassime isn't at his best right now. Not that Sonego is a bad player, but he shouldn't win against Auger-Aliassime in straight two sets I think.

Now it is good to see Zverev in the quarter finals. Djokovic is doing some standard work and making it to the next round easily and in my opinion he is going to take the win of this tournament home with ease. Perhaps Zverev could stop him, but I can't see that he is at that level already. The motivation won't be a problem, but the confidence isn't there yet.

In Marseille he managed to reach semi-final which is his best performance this year so far. Medvedev has won several titles already this year and he shows no signs of stopping.

Medvedev v Bublik tonight, I'm betting on Medvedev. This season is not the best one for Bublik, he lost 8 straight first rounds this year so far. It is nothing serious, but then again it is recurring injury which is a bit concerning for young player like Alcaraz. It seems it is a repeat of the same problem that made him miss Australian Open. He just has to take it slowly now and fully heal before returning. Now we know why he lost a final where he was that much ahead.

Djoković hitting his stride today and wining without any drama. He will be better and better with each passing match, just Djoković things.

I'll just keep looking at the live scores when I can't watch the match, and Zverev won convincingly he will meet Rublev in the semifinals after Rublev won over his opponent only in the second set van de Zandschulp made it difficult for Rublev to go through a tie break.

Djoković was vulnerable in round one but getting better and better as time passes, don't see him loosing this week.
