One question: after reboot my machine i have to sync bei wallet from the scratch ... why?

During successful close a checkpoint of the database ist created (called "databak"). If you kill the application it will not close properly and have to start from last checkpoint.
Those checkpoints are unfortunately only done during successful closing. If you donwloaded the data folder, you can also create that databak fodler with the same content so you will atleast have one good checkpoint to start from in case of an error.

In my experience, closing does not take much time. No more than a minute at most.

@theduuude did you pledge 1,000,000 qora twice? That is a hefty pledge to match.

The qrowdfund is just getting started, no? I'd like the weekend to review some of the posts. Crowetic left a long list to review. I intend to pledge. I will also post bounty pledges where, for example, if someone shows me how to install from source using java I'll pledge 20,000 qora.

Thank you to everyone who has donated thus far, it is much appreciated!

I agree that QORA has a very bright future, is one of the most under-valued coins (along with BURST, which is now picking up quite a bit of momentum), and it will be very nice to see this change soon!

I've been thinking about something... let me know what you guys think of this... Just a totally random thought... but...

What does everyone think about making QORA 1.0 a merged-mining project with BURST? Making use of BURST's algo, and making the plots compatible, so that you can plot your drives one time, and mine both BURST and QORA 1.0 with the same plots? It wouldn't take anything for extra power, you'd just have to run two instances of the miner until we get a dual miner built.

I haven't discussed this with the dev team yet, but I was thinking that it would be a really cool idea... not only would it give massive incentive to mine QORA (to existing BURST miners), because you can mine both coins at the same time (getting extra profit), but it should also provide QORA with a MUCH stronger network... BURST has over 2000 active nodes, and many many more miners, so if we were to do this, I believe that the network for QORA should get to the same size fairly quickly.

I'm also trying to figure out the best distribution for when the cap of coins is increased... if anyone has any good ideas about this, I would be open to hearing them!

The other thing... people may notice that there is no longer a forging reward for QORA... This means that QORA is fully distributed. All coins are out. IMO this is the perfect time to implement the new algo, and increase the cap. But at the same time, I don't want to introduce a ton of coins quickly, so that the current coin price doesn't get affected much. I'm thinking we do a 2000/block reward and just let it stay that way. Double the coin cap, and let people mine!

Let me know what you think about this... like I said, I haven't talked to anyone about it yet, just an idea. Thanks!

crowetic...would the block time be 4min as burst.  2000 block reward and 10bil increase equal ~38 years.  definitely long enough.  2000 reward would make it worthwhile

if qora moved to burst algo, it would immediately gain acceptance with those mining burst.  this would immediately increase network activity.  since qora and burst are "cousins" it would support both coins.

those who currently hold qora for trading purposes are the current problem as i see it (and I think a lot of qora is held up in exchanges)...we need to get qora moving around on the blockchain....traders will not do this

i vote YES...get those 2000 nodes working for qora as well

I'm seeing some great ideas and love the potential merge mining, I'm 100% excited, but I think we need to address the elephant in the room, Qora is still buggy, especially for new adopters. I believe if we address some of Qora's consistent main user friction points, the work performed thereafter will be all the more successful and at an increased momentum. If there is a fund dedicated to improving Qora install, Termination & Updating, put me down for a 1mil donation.

So is there a way to actually sync the wallet or is it dependent on luck?

I'd really like to donate, but I cant get the wallet to sync.

I also think, it might be more effective to do an ICO for Qora 2.0 than trying to attract crowdfunds from a relatively low marketcap coin like QORA. There might just not be that much capital for crowdfunding in it...what will you do with 500$?

For those of you Having Trouble with the Qora Wallet, try these steps if you are a Windows user.

* Make sure you do not have a version of Qora installed, you might even have to look in %appdata%
** If you are creating a new Qora account, be ready to copy and save your Wallet Seed & Password for safe keeping. Never share this info with anyone!!

1. Make sure you have the latest version of the Java JRE installed http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre8-downloads-2133155.html
2. Download the latest Qora Wallet Zip file https://github.com/Qoracoin/Qora/releases/
3. Download the QORA blockchain sync'd as of August 25th, 2016 - https://cloud.crowetic.com/s/IDzrYBiqXnhNCvg
4. Unzip Qora to the location of your choice
5. Run the Jar file
6. Wait for the wallet to load the wallet load.
7. Either Create an Account or Sign In
8. Exit Qora - File > Quit
9. Go to your Qora directory
10. Delete the /data directory folder
11. If there is also a dataBak directory, delete it's contents
12. Unzip the Qora Blockchain zip to the directory you just deleted the /data folder from. You should now have the synced /data folder now
13. Start your Qora Wallet from the Qora jar again
14. Keep fingers crossed, wait, after some time your wallet will load, sign in and wait until the full blockchains is loaded to the most current block.
15. If this worked, go buy some Qora and you are in business.
