i've removed yobit from our OP and website.


again, please do not try to withdraw or deposit verge on yobit. they never updated, and are on the wrong chain, and they are oblivious to their customer support tickets, emails, and tweets.

good move dev, personally l don t trust any centralized xc at all l ve lost some BTC at gox n Bter since l keep my coinz in wallets,verge has great future keep them in wallet if you can.

Good move Dev, I dumped my verge there and was able to withdraw BtC.
Hope others do the same, dump it and move btC or buy another coin and move that.

Was the address you sent to generated before or after the Fork? If it was before the Fork I think you'll be ok if/when they ever update.

What is important is not where they were sent from but the address they were sent to. When you sent to YoBit you had to first generate an address for your account. Did you create a deposit address at YoBit before or after the fork. If it was before the Fork then you should be ok because that address would still be valid on the new Fork. Now your only issue would be getting YoBit to update and not close up shop.

If it was after the fork then that address would have been generated by the old wallet on the old fork and I'm afraid that would mean your coins were sent to oblivion.

i just clicked on deposit and sent the coins to that address, how do you know if it's a new address after the fork or an old one?
(i used to have XVG on yobit few weeks ago, so it could be an old address)

Take a break on hammering yobit until after the next hardfork wallet is released. Be cool and hit them up a final time.

If at that point they don't update to 2.1 then consider your coins stolen, arbitrage, and never trade there again.

If the address and the priv key were on the blockchain before the fork then they would now be on both forks. If the address and the priv key are generated using the old wallet and old fork then it's lost.

  The wallet address is only on the block chain when it's involved in a transaction.  The private key is never on the block chain.  Since the transaction was before the fork, this is really business as usual.

If the address and the priv key are generated using the old wallet and old fork then it's lost.

   I think this is both true and false.  It doesn't matter where or when the address/private keys got generated.  All post fork, If the sender was using the old wallet, the transaction would end up on an invalid fork.  Once the sender corrected their wallet, the wallet would not see the bad transaction, and so would not mark those coins as spent.  They would be returned to the balance, and the transaction to spend them would be lost.     
   If the receiver is using the old wallet, they would only see transactions on the old/invalid blockchain.  If the sender is at the higher level of the wallet, the transaction will never appear until the receiver updates their wallet.   

   I'm not writing this to argue, but more to have someone correct me if I have something wrong.

i think he'll be fine. as long as yobit eventually updates, and has the private key to his address they gave him, he'll be good to go. im still not going to relist them as an exchange on our website or OP because they are not reliable and cant be contacted through various means.

Hello everyone! I am very new to Verge. I am not sure where to post this message..I wanted to ask a few things. I really like the site it is very nicely done. I mine alt coins as a hobby mostly running 150Mhs 24/7. I love the Radio on your site! Classic Rock is awesome. My question will sound dumb as I am no tech guy.

I have gone through a few posts seems your doing a lot of work. I have downloaded the latest wallet with no problem on a Macbook Pro. When I tried on my Windows 7 it just keeps crashing. Since I am reading about forks and such I decided to do your on-line wallet. I Just got it..My question is I mine on a script coin switching pool called Prohash. Last time the auto withdraw did not work and had to ask the owner whats up. He said there was a problem of some sort with the coin but I got them after a few days. This was about a week ago. Now I am mining it again up to 20,000 coins but will not have the auto withdraw take place for another 24 hours and using your on-line wallet I just opened. Is there anything my pool owner needs to know so I don't have another withdraw problem?

Sorry I am a complete noob when I hear words like a fork is coming and such. That is why I thought it best to hold my coins on your on-line wallet..
I am not so technical on all this but I love the site and coin. Very pro looking.
